I want to take a moment to remind Keith Urban who he was before Nicole stepped into his life and derailed his career. Those of you that already know all of this, come along for the ride.
Let’s start with your self-titled American CD which debuted in 2000. It produced three Top 5 hits and secured you the ACM Top New Male Vocalist Award and the CMA Horizon Award in 2001. That year you also won four other awards for your musical abilities.
Golden Road, released in 2002, had Somebody Like You at number one for eight weeks - longer than any other single in 2002.
In 2003, your music garnered another four awards for the mantel.
The year of 2004 saw you headlining, and you were the first non-American to win the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year.
In 2005, the Alive in ’05 tour was very successful. You received 14 awards that year, including the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year for the second time. I bet performing in Philadelphia for the LIVE 8 concert was awesome. You were chosen for the very successful GAP ad campaign and named the CMA Entertainer of the Year for 2005. 2005 was a great year for you - Good on ya’, Keith!
In 2006, you won a Grammy and the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year for the third year. You also earned the ACM Top Male Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row. That is a total of nine awards for 2006.
Your CD’s:
Keith Urban - Platinum in 2003
Golden Road - Triple Platinum in 2005
Be Here - Quadruple Platinum in 2006
You have written or co-written 90 songs and played on numerous artists’ albums and music videos. You toured with performers others can only dream of working with.
Oh and your private life…was pretty much that.
Very impressive! It really validates all those years of hard work, doesn’t it Keith?
Amazingly, you were able to do all this without the intervention of the extraordinary one.
Let’s fast forward to see what is happening these days, shall we?
You were musically invisible in 2006 - off the road for most of the year. If you have read any of the other blogs, you know just how personally visible you were in 2006 and remain to this day. Here’s a hint - it’s not flattering, and your core fans don’t like it. Do you?
Capitol did release your Love Pain CD, but where were you to promote it? That’s right…rehab.
Your first single off of that CD debuted at #17, setting a new record, yes…but quickly fell down the charts and is rarely played on country radio these days. Sorry, Keith.
The next single released was Stupid Boy. Great song, but it only made it to #3 but without a decent music video to go with it. The Atlanta performance video was good but you’ve been there…done that. Stupid Boy has now begun it’s descent on the charts. And that’s really too bad.
I Told You So is rumored to be the next US release and has a music video to support it. Or, so you have told us in one of your video messages. Those messages work - you should do more of them and more often.
This is going to sting a wee bit, but you were initially nominated for four CMT awards but only ended up with one nomination that will stand. Remember Keith, the CMT awards are ALL fan voted. Interesting…non?
To your credit you have done a few TV appearances and played a couple of concerts. That was good. To get the band functional, right? Makes sense to me. They were probably a bit rusty.
So far, this is a very lethargic start for someone who claims to be jonesing to get back on the road. Don’t you think, mate?
We’ve seen that you have been busy resting up in St. Bart’s. I guess you are preparing for the tour while strolling on the beach and sunning on a yacht. All the strenuous work you have done while living in LA required a bit of holiday on the islands. How nice for you!
Meanwhile, your core fans are being wooed by other artists and they…are…leaving.
Riddle me this, Guitarman…
Do you realize how out of touch you are with your fans? A relationship YOU built. Will you be able to get your career back on track? Do you even want to? Are you preparing to WOW us all back and into those huge venues that have booked upcoming dates? And, if not, I wonder what you will think when you look out on the audience. Will you even notice that we are missing?
Well, the jury is still out on those questions. Since the US leg of tour doesn’t start until June, I guess the jury has a long wait to decide those answers, but, I guarantee you Keith, the deliberation will be very short.

I think the US tour will make him or break him with alot of fans. If he goes out there and gives it his 100% and leaves the sidehow and any references to her at home. Then I think his fans will stay. BUT if he brings her to alot of the concerts, and talks and cuts his concerts short and rushes through them just cause she is there. Then I think alot of the fans will move on .
And I really can't believe how anyone that has been a Keith fan pre Nickers can say since he married her that he has given his 100% at every concert. Cause he hasn't. From what I heard from Chicago he was "back" so lets hope and pray he has learned to keep the personal life and the stage life separate.
Once again i say BRAVO!!!
this long time core fan can already say, he's lost me..and i am not certain that there are enough years left to his career to Woo me back.

Ditto!! The SIDESHOW has completely turned me off and I really don't care if I see another KU show or not. If he's that stupid not to see what "his wife" is doing to his career, let alone his psyche, that's his problem.
Great blog. Lots of facts listed. Nice to rehash what was...
I too have been a fan for years. I refused to buy his new album. OIAL was not the song to release to get me and many others to buy it. The song may have been ok it he had not referenced her in every single interview about it. Which was a lie anyways of how the song came to be.
Besides he's off throwing his new found fortune in the faces of everyone. It's not like he even needed my measly $15 and I refuse to help someone like this that has done a complete 360 almost overnight.
One day he'll need me and others like me to help support him. I am not ready to see him in concert nor spend any amount of money on him. The last time I saw him I was VERY disappointed in the performance and atmosphere of the show.
I like others have been won over by other artist who seem to give a damn. One that stands out would be Dierks Bentley. His star has been rising over the past few years and he's the same ol' guy. Someone you can actually talk to and makes you feel like you've known him forever. He is also married but she is a nice woman and treats the fans with respect. You can't tell if she's at the shows because he doesn't change who he is.
Maybe Keith can learn a thing or two from Dierks and other up-and-comers. Maybe remember what is was like when you were fighting for fans and recognition because that's what it's going to come down to again.
You forgot to add all those times he slept with skank after skank, even though he had a girlfriend and partied all night, not to mention his former stints in rehab.
Yeah, is he worse or better?
Now...that's a good blog. Keith was almost on the top of the country mountain in 2005...having won CMA ETOY/MV. He had tremendous momentum...and in 2006, his ascent stopped. He did so little to maintain that momentum. Yes..he worked on his new CD...but you have to be "OUT THERE" to keep the fans interested. Kenny C. is a great example of that.
The thing that makes Keith potentially more successful than Kenny is the fact he is multitalented (guitar / singer / songwriter) and has an international presence. But instead of running with it and proving to everyone that he deserved ETOY, he stalled.
We were inundated with the pictures of his private life...his courtship (friendship with Ms Kidman) his wedding, his coffee runs, even his swiffer purchases, his rehab stay...but where was the music?
His tour in the US is in June 2007, eight months AFTER his new CD was released. The rehab stint delayed his ability to promote his new music and by all accounts, when he was released, he was chomping at the bit to get out and show everyone his music.
So...how did he promote his music? He did one week of promotions in the US. Since, he's been vacationing in St. Barts, and enjoying the LA sun. Now he's off to the land Downunder to promote his music, then off to Europe and Oz to tour. What about his music in the US?
I think he's either getting poor advice or not taking advice regarding his career development (perhaps salvation) in North America. Many long term fans are disillusioned and have left the fold or are waiting to see how the 2007 US tour goes before deciding whether to move on or not. Some say "good riddance" .. the sad thing is these people are the ones who have been around for years and turned many people on to Keith's music. Will the new generation of fans be as effective as the old generation at getting the word out and promoting his music?
I think the fact that Stupid Boy...a great song...didn't make it to #1 is reflective of the loss of the die hard fans and the fact that newer fans are not as devoted. The # of requests are dropping off...his old fans aren't interested in participating in radio station surveys like they used to, so his songs don't get the same support. The same situation applies to the CMT awards, which are fan voted.
Is this situation recoverable? I don't know if it is. But he is going to have to work very hard at there is a chance to get it back. The private life has to disappear ... no more tabloid displays in St Barts, please...and the emphasis on his music and fan appreciation needs to make it to the forefront. That's the only way, in my opinion.
You're posts are turning so harsh the last days. It makes me cry. I'm an addicted fan of Keith and I think he's coming back to his fans again. Can't wait to see him again in Germany in April.

Once tis sham of a marriage ends..the NK worshippers/curiosity seekers will ditch him like yesterdays news...the new generation of KU fans, here in the US at any rate...will move on to the next HOT TOPIC...some of them already have...he still fancies himself a 20 year old..the teenies however are realizing he's not...and many of older fans who wouldn't care that he's getting older, are so turned off of the CIRCUS that is this "PR MARRIAGE"...no longer care to be there..the performer we knew and loved has turned into a first class jackass, and there are plenty of those in the world that we don't need to spend our hard earned money on to see or hear..why in the world would we pay to see just one more? egos are less than a dime a dozen, and his isn't even worth that much anymore..
This blog couldn't have come out at a better time. I was watching CMT Insider this morning and was enjoying all the interviews with various performers on the show. After the show was over, my first thought was "Too bad Mr. Kidman feels a need to live in LA right now. Look at the exposure he is missing with no longer living in Nashville and having access to CMT, as well as GAC." There use to be a time when Mr. Kidman was mentioned quite frequently on CMT Insider shows for his musical talents - not anymore. Mr. Kidman has lost his connection with country music.
This blog just confirmed what I thought this morning. Mr. Kidman was finally hitting all the success he ever dreamed of with his career - then he hit a brick wall - he started his relationship with her.
Is there any way of Mr. Kidman getting back what he had? I don't think so. What do you do to earn the respect back of fans he has turned his back on? Those fans have now walked away. I know I won't spend my money to see him in concert. I don't want to run the risk of going to a concert, having her there, and be disappointed with another performance like I have the last two times I saw him. I have seen other up & coming artists while he has been on "break", and those artists have impressed the Hell out of me. I'd rather spend my money on them now.
Mr. Kidman, you had it all, and you wished it all away!
As a fan, it has been sad to watch a man who had just hit the top of the country music heap throw it all away. At the 2005 CMA's, he seemed to have it all: ETOY and MV, he'd just started headlining arena tours, his singles all flew up the charts, he had the respect of Nashville as one of its hardest working musicians who consistently put on incredible shows. He was entering superstar status on his own merits and talent.
Then, his friend started wearing that ring, and slowly that has become all that he is known for. His personal life is tabloid fodder and he is now known as the drug-addicted, womanizing husband of Nicole Kidman.
And since that time, he hasn't given his fans much else to focus on besides his personal life. He finished his fall '05 tour, toured for 2 months in '06 (Feb and July/Aug), released a new single and talked about his private life and wife in nearly every interview. Released an album while in rehab, released a 2nd single which he also managed to make all about her (she told him to record it, dontchaknow). I miss the days when Keith really did keep his private life private. I'm sick of the sideshow overshadowing every professional thing that he does.
He gets out of rehab, and seems to be trying to get back to the music, but it's just not working. He does promotions in Canada and all anyone focuses on is that he isn't spending Valentine's Day with his wife. He goes on the U.S. morning shows and talks about rehab and his extraordinary wife. He puts on a show for the radio people in Nashville and immediately flies off to St Barts for a photo op. Is he a musician, or a celebrity husband?
I think in order to sustain a successful U.S. country music career, it's going to take more than devoting a day or two a month to that career. When he returns to the U.S. for his tour in June, I hope that the focus can return to his music, but I think that remains to be seen.

Susan: This isn't meant to be harsh, but what I find with a lot of fans is that they are "addicted" to KU. I've never been "addicted" to Mr. Kidman and I knew things would change the minute he hooked up with Ms. Kidman. I just had no idea how MUCH. I've never put him on a pedestal or worshipped the ground he walked on, therefore, the let down hasn't been as bad for me. There's too many other extremely talented artists out there who are worth following rather than watching Keith Kidman's sideshow.
Great blog.
THIS is what the skeptics have been trying to say all along.
THIS is why we have been frustrated, upset, sad, and disappointed.
_____________
Anyone who has been at a concert when she isn't there and then a concert when she is will tell you there is a remarkable difference in his performance. Very disappointing to spend all that money on tix and travel only to get a disappointing show because she was there.
i doubt that she'll be at to many of the US shows, she's suppose to be in OZ filming another flop..however if rumor is true he'll be jetting to OZ at least 10 times during the coarse of his US tour..so i would expect the shows before and after those trips to be pretty lame..of coarse the bunnies that still exsist will blame it on jet lag..
It may take years before Keith leaves that bitch. Look how long Whitney Houston stayed with Bobby Brown. I don't have a good feeling about Keith's future and I think he has a long way to fall before he hits rock bottom. I believe his drug/alcohol problems are going to run rampant before this whole mess is over. There is no way in hell she is any kind of support for him and I would'nt be surprised if she supplied the drugs for him just to keep him dependent on her. Hell, he may not survive this marriage at all.
I guess we'll see if he really does jet off to Oz on every break he has. If he does and then gives half assed performances because he's tired, then he's still selling out. The fan who spends $70+ on a ticket plus travel and possibly hotel deserves his best effort. If the relationship is so important to them both, why is it just Keith who talks about all the flying to see his loving wife? The truth is, NK is pulling the strings and Keith ... the puppet...Urban is dancing to her tune.
I am hoping that he realizes how important this tour is and gives it 110%...or there will be alot of empty seats at those shows.
i believe there are going to be alot of empty seats anyway after the pre-sale fiasco..i don't think the that the dim witted monkeies who bought the crappy tickets then spent money for better, are going to be able to dump there crappy seats on someone else..at least not the majority of them..
still CU got thier mony, so they don't care if ther is an actual body in the seat..
still if his career tanks..he won't have to worry about money too much..he's set for life if he invested well...but i think he'll find all that money a very cold bed-fellow...
I think that Keith has realized that there IS more to life than music, however, I think he WILL realize that music is his true love and that he has forsaken her for another who does not value him as much. I do think he will regret scorning music and his fans in the long run. But you cannot teach some, they must educate themselves through trial and error. There ARE many artists out there who are appreciating their fans, and by turning away from his, Keith has opened our ears to those other artists. Keith has the talent to draw fans, but the attitude of humbleness he has lost,(or never had?)and that too confuses fans. We used to listen to every interview knowing the truth was said, now we are not sure, and question every sentence, looking for the hidden meanings and double entendre; now we don't know what to believe and we question every word. Were we in love with the image, or the real man? And for some (many?), myself included, the honeymoon is over...
In the first place, I hate actors. They never act like people. They just think they do..
J.D Salinger~ The Catcher In The Rye
Susan,
This wasn't meant to be harsh but as a conversation with Keith URBAN. Think of it as if he was a close friend and asked you what you thought of the last 18 months. What would you say to him? Would you lie and say all is well mate? Would you want to tell him the truth about what you see happening? It's not sugar coated or overly critical.
It's honest.
Given the chance-this is exactly what I would say to him.
We used to listen to every interview knowing the truth was said, now we are not sure, and question every sentence, looking for the hidden meanings and double entendre; now we don't know what to believe and we question every word.
Exactly!!! I used to believe that Keith was candid and honest in his interviews...he was upfront about his past; not embarrassed by it like he is now of the Playgirl shoot, he spoke from his heart. I loved that about him. Now whatever he says seems to be open to interpretation...he says what he thinks we wanna hear. "Bunnies" will take away what they want from it and "skeptics" will take away what they want from it, based on what his actions have shown and whether or not one chooses to believe that actions speak louder than words. Either way, he is cryptic and evasive now. I used to know exactly what he meant when he spoke and I knew where he stood, whether I liked it or not. Now, I am left wondering what the hell he was really saying. And that's NKs infuence IMO becasuenothing she ever says makes any sense either.
It would be so fitting if he re-released the new CD under the name of Keith Kidman! I bet more people would recognize that name and maybe it would start selling more!
I don't like Nicole either. I was shocked when I heard they were together. But I think this all negative here is all because of Nicole.
Keith is preparing for his tour in 33 US cities. He'll be on stage again and there is where he belongs: "On Stage On A Good Night!" And I bet you'll forget that he is married, that you don't like his wife, that he is living in L.A. when you see him performing live.
To live alone is much easier, if you are married, you have to be willing to compromise.
But this isn't compromise-it's giving up everything that you held close and totally changing yourself for someone else.

See now here's the problem with you people who have become Keith and Nicole bashers. You actually believe that he is a close friend of yours, otherwise why would you say something so delusional. YOU DON'T KNOW HIM AT ALL - never will. He's just not that accessible to you all then he may have before. Yeah, part of it is because of his wife, the other his new found fame. It's just the nature of the beast. So get over yourself and stop pretending he's broken your heart and no longer wants to make you happy.

But how many good nights on stage will he have?? I won't be risking my time and money for any of his shows that might be after one of those tour breaks when he's flown off to Australia.
I'm looking forward to hearing the reviews from the concerts. Until then, I'm not holding my breath.

Oh pa..leez...I'm so sick of hearing this LAME ASS excuse bunnies keep making up about skeptical people.
First of all, I'm not a "you people."
Second, I'm not delusional.
Third, He HASN'T broken my heart. I've NEVER had any delusions about the man other than I thought he was something different than what I've been witnessing for the past year.
Fourth, I'm not in love with the man, NEVER HAVE BEEN. I hate to disappoint you. Why would I be? I'm never going to know him, I don't hang in his circles, he's not MY type, I'm not HIS type, he's too young for me, and MOST IMPORTANT, he'd never take a second look at me. I'm not interested in the man other than his music. I'm not delusional and I'm sick and tired of people saying skeptics are delusional. I take complete offense to that.
I've seen a complete change in him over the past year or so, and I'm very disappointed in him, pure and simple.
I believe the reason some people (call them the bunnies) assume that the skeptics are jealous is that they are the ones who actually have romantic aspirations toward him and so, imagine that's why the skeptics are disillusioned and disappointed.
For many of the skeptics, the truth is that we had hoped that he would continue his ascent to the top, after winning the ETOY and MV in 05. Many of us have been supporting the man's career for years...we've been there through the struggles. We've bought his CD's, attended his shows (often travelling many miles to see him) and we've promoted his music to friends and family. We were thrilled to see him finally succeed. So to see him change into someone who is not who we thought he was...into someone who seems not only lacking in focus but somewhat disinterested in his career ... is disappointing. It makes him look dishonest based on statements he's made in the past about music being like breathing to him.
So..yes, the jealous and delusional comments don't apply to the skeptics, but I do believe they may apply to those who still believe that Keith hasn't changed. I sure hope that the man that I believed him to be is still somewhere to be found.
The Keith Urban of the early to mid 2000's was a hugely talented performer who showed his fans his appreciation in many ways, but especially by always giving 110% at his concerts. I want to know that that man is going to show up for the 2007 tour...and not just to Europe and Australia, but to the US and Canada too.
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU
I'm thankful that someone put into words in this article what so many of us are thinking and feeling.
The only way it could be better is if HE were to actually be able to read it.

Wow-you need to chill...
Not delusional here at all. Stating facts and since you cannot argue with the facts you get on that same old and very tired path of how we are so jealous and he's broken our hearts--blah, blah, blah.
Seriously, can't you come up with something else, anything else to chant?
He breaks my heart! I'll admit that. But, not because he married or didn't marry me.
It's because I saw a raw, honest, talented man turn into someone else in the last 2 yrs. He is a lost soul. More than ever. That's sad to see that in anybody!
For whatever reason he is trying hard to convince himself and others he is happy and balanced and he's not fooling anyone.
I don't have to hang out with him to see that. He was open and honest enough in the past to see how he is.
It's no different than the hairdresser I've gone to the last 8 years or the receptionist at my dentists office. I have seen them enough to know if there is something wrong with them and I don't hang out with them.
Caring... it's human nature for most people. We don't have to personally know everyone to see if someone is having problems or to show we care.
I wasn't waiting around to marry him...and yes, I do want him happily married to someone.
I am a skeptic but I am not jealous or delusional. I am however vested in the person we've been shown, the talent we've heard and I am a caring person.
I want him to find balance, happiness, love, himself. I know he's human and makes mistakes..even getting caught up in his own hype or fame.
I just choose to openly look at him as human and see he is not in a good place. Sometimes being on the outside looking in, gives you a hell of a lot better perspective.

Thank YOU for the above!the only thing i would add is that i was actually looking forward to the day tht i heard he had married..i had expected he marry a caring, feeling, sweet, down to earth sort of woman...someone that complimented him...instead he does a 360 goes hollywood, and marries an unfeeling, uncaring, snotty, botoxed actress wanna-be....so..dilusional i'm not..disappointed beyond words? hell yeah..makes me wonder if he ever was who he once appeared to be..
The only reason Stupid Boy did so well initially was because it was actually written by someone else. (No wonder he wanted to use it on his album - HE KNEW it was well written). Keith's songwriting ability has gone in the shitter as far as I'm concerned. He has not substance and tries to cover it up with his guitar playing - yes, that is exceptional, but should NEVER be used to hide the inadequacies of his songwriting. These are things that are making his long-time fans disappear too. We know, in our hearts, that he isn't the same person in this regard either.
BTW - did Lainey write this blog or is someone just copying her style???

In the first place, I hate actors. They never act like people. They just think they do..

This reminds me of some lines from Bewitched..yes I watched it ..rolling eyes.. ..I thought it was very ironic
(Will)So do you wanna be rich and famous?
(Nic)I just wanna be normal.
(Will)Well, acting is better than normal. Yeah. You get to pretend
to be normal.
Any way back to Keith..great blog! It's so hard to see where he has been and where he is as compared to where he should be. I happen to like the new CD and I love Stupid Boy. I am sorry that it never made it to number 1.
I've only been following him for a couple of years and have attended alot of shows. I can say that except for the Atlanta Shows he has never disappoint me, preformance wise. I wasn't around when he was acessible after the shows or did M&G's so I can't judge that.
That being said..I am sick of the sideshow and maybe it's just a coincidence (although I think not) that it all started changing when she came into the picture. And her Diva ways. From the coffee shop.. "I am sorry, we aren't signing autographs today"..did anyone ask you Nickers??? It just seems everytime something is just about Keith she has to make her presence known. Always have to one up him.
He didn't need this kinda hype to further his career. He is KEITH URBAN and he needs to remember that.
Sorry to ramble but this blog made me very sad and angry. I know we can never have the "old Keith" back because we all evolve and change because of life experience but I hope we soon get back to a version of that old Keith that understands..YOU ARE FREAKIN KEITH URBAN..

See now here's the problem with you people who have become Keith and Nicole bashers. You actually believe that he is a close friend of yours, otherwise why would you say something so delusional. YOU DON'T KNOW HIM AT ALL - never will. So get over yourself and stop pretending he's broken your heart and no longer wants to make you happy.
***********************************
Wow-you need to chill...
Not delusional here at all. Stating facts and since you cannot argue with the facts you get on that same old and very tired path of how we are so jealous and he's broken our hearts--blah, blah, blah.
Seriously, can't you come up with something else, anything else to chant?

I'm sure people will stop complaining when you stop blogging about stupid shit. You blog all the time about how horrible she is, how she's ruined HIS life. But you have no clue. Nada! Zip.Zilch. Zero.
Stop buying the CDs, stop going to the shows and stop complaining. That way, fans of the music who could care less about his personal life can enjoy the show.
Not watching some idiot turn her back during the entire show because she's protesting. Like he sees her anyway. It's just lame and you catty women are lame. The whole thing is LAME!

Nicole, is a selfish self-centered person and she shows that with everything she does. ME ME ME..it's all about ME.
I actually used to like her but I have since become too fimilar with her Famewhore ways. And no, I don't want Keith for myself. That always seems to be the only explain you Nicole worshippers can come with as to why we don't think Twig Woman is NOT good for Keith.
"I'm not in love with the man, NEVER HAVE BEEN. I hate to disappoint you. Why would I be? I'm never going to know him"
Exactly!! So why are you making judgements against someone you don't know. I'm not a bunny at all. I think Keith has real personalities issues and doesn't seem to grasp living off the stage real well as he himself has said, but that aside "YOU" people make statements and judgements against him as if you know the man. I'm just trying to show the rest of us how hypocritical you are.
"I believe the reason some people (call them the bunnies) assume that the skeptics are jealous is that they are the ones who actually have romantic aspirations toward him and so, imagine that's why the skeptics are disillusioned and disappointed. "
Did you ever think we'd like to see the man happily married to someone regardless of whether it's Nicole or not. Kinda like the glass half full, not half empty

I don't disagree with the opinion you have about Keith having personality issues and having difficulty with who he is off stage. Interesting that you've expressed an opinion about a man you've never met and you don't know. I think calling other posters hypocritical for doing the exact same thing is hypocritical!!!
Everyone on this site has been expressing an opinion, just as you have. You may not agree with their opinions, but they are entitled to express them none the less. These views may be bang on...they may be totally off base. None of us know Keith Urban and so, we are expressing opinions based on what we've seen, heard and read regarding him.
Why bash others' opinions or ridicule them? Bashing other posters is counter productive. Express your opinion and leave it at that.

Well said. The only thing I would add is that when someone decides to become a musician (or an actress), they voluntarily to put themselves in the public eye. They chose to release cds or movies for the public to critique. They chose to give interviews, pose for photos, etc in order to promote themselves and their product. This gives the public the right to express their opinion on them IMO.
I would love to talk about the music and the CD's - except he hasn't made music in over two years.
The CD, while good, is not great, and he allows his personal life to be tabloid fodder.
Keith Urban allowed that...he didn't stop it.
I feel justified in talking about him and his life here...
Hey, no one should worry whether Keith's personal life is fodder for the tabloids (or blogs). He was a public figure long before his wife came along....and he will remain so long after she's gone.
Anytime he decides it's too much, he can chuck it all and go back to Aus. and live on the beach. In the meantime, as long as he wants my money, for his concerts and a so-so album, well yes -- you can be sure I will express my opinion. If he can't take the heat...
I know Keith likes to read but, I don't think reading equals brain smarts, street smarts or common sense. Apparantly none of which he has if he thinks this marriage was the right thing to do and to continue with it and the obvious bad signs since. Most people would call it a day, unless it was true love. Which this obviously isn't.
The way his brain makes decisions should be a great example of why not to drop out of school and trust hangers on.
Do you all remember when Keith sang on that awards show with Elvin Bishop... "I fooled around and fell in rehab." Great song..aaahhh yes...those were the days!
"Why bash others' opinions or ridicule them? Bashing other posters is counter productive. Express your opinion and leave it at that. "
I didn't I stated a fact from Keith's mouth. As I read these comments, I don't see people indicating these are opinions they are spewing, just blatant gossip with no foundation.
and AGAIN..if you dislike here so much..go back to the Monkey/Bunny boards..kufans, NKU,.Net...they adore folks like you..and you can can discuss how wonderful he and his beautiful wife are..and what kind of cookie he is..and about how they both walk on water..trullu, you'll be much happier there!

Seriously?-of course these are opinions of the people that are posting and FACTUAL information that you can find anywhere.
In my opinion-you'd be much happier on the fans/worshipers boards.
Just remember-they don't know Keith or his wife either.

Apparently, you didn't read my original thread if you think I said Keith and Nic walk on water.
and apparently if that is all that you got out of MY post..you missed the point...
The unfortunate thing is...Keith was always such a private person. I understand that they want their private life to stay that way...blah, blah blah, but how do they expect us to ignore it when it's thrust in our faces everyday.
You can believe what you want, but I have no doubt that Nic plans every moment that ends up in the tabloids. She has proven time and time again that IF she wants to hide from the paparazzi...SHE DOES! She has made Keith her own personal puppet. Yes he's a grown man and he makes his own decisions, but his self-esteem has always taken a beating when he's off-stage. She took advantage of his weakness.
It's all very sad really. I've been a fan for a while and I've seen many many shows and like another poster said, Atlanta was my only disappointment.
I had the pleasure of attending the show in Nashville and I can't express to you how disappointing it was to see so few fans in line for a FREE SHOW at a small club in Nashville during a CRS. It was a clear indication of where his career is headed. I will tell you this...he was the old Keith that night. He was sincere and you could see it in his eyes. I hadn't seen happiness in his face for so long and it was refreshing for me as it was for many of us that were able to experience that special night.
I do feel that he has changed, but I think if he will realize what he's doing to himself and make the nescessary moves in the right direction, he can save what is left of his career.
As much as I would love to see him in venues like City Hall (the small club in Nashville) I would be devestated if that is what his career developed into because of the spectacle he has become.
Call me a "Skeptic" if you want, but there is nothing delusional about how we feel. No one, unless they have experienced it for themselves, will EVER know how much this man we call Keith Urban has meant to so many of us.
His musical talent has brought strangers together in a way that no one else has or will ever do. I have met so many wonderful people through Keith and his music. I don't think Keith has any idea of the impact he has had on so many people.
You're right..we don't know him personally and we never will, but we do know enough about him to know when he's happy and when he's not. I'm sorry if you don't agree, but he hasn't been happy. That's all we as "skeptics" want for him. We want him to be happy and content with his life. That's all we've ever wanted.
I think it would be good if he read this blog. Yes it may come as a shock, but sometimes the truth hurts. If the man that brought us all together with his wittiness, compassion, and genuine graciousness does happen to read this, he will understand that we speak from the heart. And if he's still the man that we all know he is, deep down inside, he'll know that we're right.
beautifully stated...i to wish he read here..maybe just maybe he's stop and think...

Ditto!
I think it's time for a new post. This one's getting dragged in the dirt. Someone please talk about Keith being Australia. He looks good and very happy!
those were cute pics at the zoo. i hope he is visiting with his family. i think he needs them.
He looks good and very happy!

Why yes he does. It's good to here the giggle back. ITYS sounded great yesterday. But just alittle to much BS about wifey poo. Although, he did actually call her by her name..finally. lol
did you see the news paper pic? he looks like an old man..and i see NK has managed to turn him into her ex-husband TC..Keith that look just doesn't work for you..
by the way..since music is just your job these days..you can do it anywhere..why don't you just stay in Aus...and don't let the American border hit you in the ass on the way out..
So if keith WERE a cookie, what would he be?
coconut...
all fluff and no substance...
Not to mention how his fanclub has raised their price of membership and done away with concert meet and greets backstage. Now you have to enter into a raffle to try and win a backstage experience where you aren't even guaranteed to really "meet" Keith, but just listen to him play songs and take a group picture. Oh, and how about those ticket presales for Monkeyville members only? What a sham! They don't even release the floor seats in the presale. The whole thing is a joke.
A nut cookie. Wait! He doesn't have any, Nicole took them away.
Oh Julie
Don't EVEN get me started on THAT!!!!!
the fanclub went from bad to worse..i didn't think that was possible!..and now that ticketmaster has bought echomusic..i see the fans being robbed absolutely blind!
