Ha! Yeah, orb just got through reading Urban Myth's blog and the comment section...and had a dose of major buzzkill on the harsh reality of his declining career!
So, to continue the last comments from the precious thread...yes, hoosier you're right about that...ie. "save the skin on my fingers"...well actually, I'm having too much fun knocking the orb's rather lame PR buffoonary this "CMA and charity exploiting" season. The only skin I'm losing is from all this typing! So THIS year orb's is shilling his new cd and trolling for CMA votes on the backs of the Country Hall and the Christian School...as I so extensively documented in the previous thread. Now...let's take another example...the swifty...a few threads ago someone mentioned that swifty was going to perform at the U.N... and of course I joshed the orb...that the PR dynamo swifty was gonna STEAL his thunder over at that notoriously plundered organization by mutt...so here is the story...
Taylor Swift Will Play United Nations to Celebrate Speak Now Release
"Taylor Swift will perform at the United Nations in New York City on Oct. 25 as she releases a new album, Speak Now. The event will be streamed by CMT.com and many of MTV Networks' web properties including MTV.com, VH1.com and websites across Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America. The event will include a performance by Swift for contest winners from around the world."
So, notice the difference from what the orb would do? Swifty is performing at the UN to....celebrate her new release, Speak Now"...it's right there...plain and simple...the truth...to shill her upcoming cd. NOW...the difference is...if the orb was performing at the UN...prior to his cd's release...the story would no doubt be..."Urban to perform at the UN...for Tennessee flood relief...or the GUlf oil spill relief...or some other "charitable organization. Anything...BUT the TRUE reason for his appearence...to shill his cd! Orb likes to pretend that he does this charity work for the sole purpose of the noble cause...and NOT for the greedy purpose of shilling for his cd. Swifty's press release is thruthful...swifty is performing at the UN to PR her cd...and give her fans a treat..so they'll want to buy her cd. She IS NOT trying to shill her cd at the UN on the backs of random charitable cause's. Orb wants you to believe he's just trying to save the world...and not just simply trying to shill his cd...on the back of the HAll and Christian school charities!
I believe this CD will be painful to listen to, just like the other two have been. If we were to interpret what these songs and the ablum's title mean to us, by him saying she inspired the whole damn thing just ruined it for me. I had high hopes that at least while I knew no matter what he does and say will always be about his wife, does he always have to ruin it by speaking out loud. We get it, we know who you married, keep it to yourself and get to work!
That's it in a nutshell, Maclen, but we can't seem to get that through the blood/brain barrier, or is it the visual/brain barrier, either way, I give up on remedial work, it gets me no where, I will remain content to watch the show and let you do the heavy lifting.
Checotah native Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and LeAnn Rimes will appear in an upcoming episode of ABC’s reality show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, according to CMT News.
The episode will center on the rebuilding of Lighthouse Christian School near Nashville, Tenn., which was heavily damaged by the May floods that ravaged so many homes and properties in Tennessee. The Extreme Makeover team, led by Ty Pennington, spent seven days working on the project.
The episode is tentatively scheduled to air Nov. 7 as part of a big week of country music on ABC. It all leads up to The Country Music Association’s CMA Awards, which will air live from Nashville on Nov. 10 on the network.
So why did Taylor participate in last year's AFTH before she was up for her awards and why is she doing Los Angeles AFTH before the awards and before her new album is out? For those watching the charts of late, the news has been somewhat grim, although that's as expected. Before the onslaught of fall and holiday releases begins, sales have been relatively slow at the top of the chart. Couple that with a perennially depressed music climate; -- industry trade Billboard has had to report for the third time this year that sales have hit a record low.
With 4.83 million total sales last week, Billboard notes that the week ending Sept. 12 was the slowest ever in the SoundScan era. That beats the record low of 4.95 million set earlier this summer. Now, one of the largest outlets for major-label product -- and one of the industry leaders in driving the price of the CD below $9.99 -- has declared that it will continue its trend of devoting less floor space to CDs.
The news was somewhat expected, as stories out of this year's National Assn. of Recording Merchandisers trade convention continued to speculate that mass retailers would further curtail their music offerings. On Wednesday, Billboard's Glenn Peoples pointed to an Investors.com story that referred to a recent Best Buy investors call in which Best Buy executive Brian Dunn was quoted as saying the "CD section in particular will shrink in space allotment" in favor of higher-margin items.
Best Buy isn't alone. Wal-Mart also has been gradually cutting the amount of new music it stocks. As CD sales dip, Apple's iTunes store has become the dominant retail player -- accounting for about 28% of the market, according to Billboard estimates. Sales at "non-traditional" outlets -- the category Nielsen SoundScan has created for all digital, venue and mail-order purchases -- hit an all-time high in 2009, topping the 100 million mark for the first time.
Sales at mass-merchant retailers, which include Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart, have been steadily dipping. SoundScan reported in 2009 that mass-merchant sales declined for the second year in a row. The sector had reported growth from 2002 through 2006, often using new releases as a "loss leader," a heavily discounted item designed to get foot traffic into the store.
LindaMarie your attitude is baffling. Move on if Nicole is such an abomination to you.
This one sided war you are waging is getting a little tiresome. I do not think you are going to convince any of us to suddenly become fans, if that is what you want, or do you just want us to all say that Maclen is wrong about something?
I thought he didn't know HOW to use a computer....isn't that something he once said??? Perhaps he's crunching numbers and realizes that money she promised for each year of marriage isn't worth the price of his soul....
Well, hoosier, I NEVER claimed I was a psychic! That EVERYTHING I may speculate or hypothesize will turn out to be the way I've commented on. Just as the monkeys who post over at monkeyland that orb's cds are gonna be smash hits...or when he releases a new single, they all proclaim "It's gonna be a #1 hit!" Well, orb's last cd WAS NOT A SMASH HIT...and NOT all of his singles make #1. So a few monkeys clearly "have a cow, man" whenever I say that here. This "jasfro" clearly has a serious "sore point" over swifty...whenever I post about her, he/she begins to hypereventilate and comes here to whine about what I've posted! That's why I post it! Now the other monkey posting over here, obviously has a sore point over this "Benefit for orb"...is exasperated over my claim that major performers from last year, refused to appear this year..for the reasons I've outlined before. He/she claims to KNOW the reason and that I'm wrong...well, I DONT CARE. As I mentioned, I find it fun to get these monkeys juiced up...that's why I've been quoting the monkeys own comments from monkeyland! The monkeys howling about ticket scalping over there, some monkeys dissatisfaction with orb shallow bubblegum music! Actually, I'm wondering if I can get them to close down their public forums...like the NKusless did when i was constantly bombarding them with their own disatisfied comments over mutt's recent lameness! And believe me, when orb's career gets AS embarrassing as her's, they will! So, just stay tuned for my next...Hypothesis!
...well well well...isnt this bit interesting...just noticed over at the monkeysite's home page...
http://www.keithurban.net/
...you'll see a banner saying, "KEITH TO DONATE ALL NEW MONKEYVILLE MEMBERSHIPS & RENEWALS BETWEEN 9/7 AND 10/5 TO HALL OF FAME"
...so, when did this announcement come out? When did orb decide to donate all the money from memberships to his fansie site to the Hall? Well, a quick google search reveals...
...it came out...on Sept 8 2010. Now that date is pretty relevent...it just so happens to be the day AFTER I posted this on Urban myths...
"BUT, the monkey-mods at monkeyland are DELAYING any info of when tickets go on sale to the monkeymembers. AND WHY? Because the monkey-mods of monkeyland want TIME for their monkey-agents to snap up a huge portion of the tickets to this event...BEFORE they announce the time of sales...so that then the monkey-agents CAN SCALP THOSE TICKETS TO THE MONKEYS WHO COULD NOT GET TICKETS AT THE REGULAR PRICE for hundreds of dollars!""..."Urban pockets $25 for each membership, giving fans -- and scalpers - early access to some tickets. For the Hall of Fame benefit,we found 12 of those $25 seats right on the front row, scalped at $642 each -- all of them, according to internal documents, allocated to the fan club. Urban's team denies any responsibility for those scalped tickets."
So, I reposted this investigative article here, which explains basically, that orb is not only making money off the "Benefit for orb" from NEW and RENEWALS memberships at his fansie site...at $25 a pop...but also that orb and TicketMaster have a "scam" to get most of the tickets to scalpers..or as the monkeys themselves call them....agents...and reselling them for several hundreds of dollars! I first posted this on Urban Myths on Sept 7...then on Sept 8, monkeyland announces that orb is donating membership fees to the Hall! Well, I'm pleased as punch...(corny I know)...that the monkeymods at monkeyville reacted to my post and convinced the orb to come out with this PR countering announcement..again...the day after I reminded them of this rather shabby dealing here at Urban Myths by the orb and his band of flying monkeys! (Yes wizard of oz reference) So glad to know my work here is not for naught! Though, actually...the amount of money gathered from any new and renewal memberships fees PALES in comparison to the massive amounts of money made by the monkeyscalpers! So my next assaigment? Get the orb to admit to his fanise site scalpers and shame him out of gouging his unfortunate monkeymembers out of the supposedly decently priced tickets!
hoosierlady, its not an issue of being right or wrong. Maclen is entitled to express his/her opinion just like everyone else. I personally appreciate hearing all sides of an issue and particularly the thinking of others - both for and against my own. I would never try to silence anyone just because I disagree with them.
But we're in a time of celebrity worship. Those who idolize their favorite celebrities can not bear to hear anything negative said about them. Their tone is clear. They don't expect us to change sides. What they want is for us to stop expressing our opinions. Stop saying anything negative about their idols. They find it so distasteful that they call on us to "move on". With fan sites that welcome their celebrity worship, don't you wonder why they would bother to come here?
Not calling for them to "move on" you understand. All opinions are welcome here - Thank you UM.
mikki said... "And I just want to add, MACLEN I look forward to your posts, as well as other regulars here. I like your style!"
Thanks mikki...just as you say...these ARE my opinions...not much chance anyone changing them...simply WITH THEIR OWN OPINIONS! And I surely believe MY ad nauseum comments are laced with far more facts and reality than the "gushing" fansies. So it's onward and... so forth...
Well, it's no mystery I consider the orb's "PR team" to be about as competent as...say...the Bad News Bears. And as mention previously...the monkeyland fansie site is a great barometer on just how the orb's PR IS playing. Just as the monkeys seem extra-ordinarily pre-occupied with orbs singles and their "radio spins"...it's amazing how "ORGASMIC" the monkeys behave on the forum when they hear orb's new single on the radio...clearly that is because his album cds are such a limp seller. Now, as to monkeyland as that barometer for orbs PR campaigns...the story thrown out by orb to shill his newly released single...of orb "recording two songs" with daughter sunry...may be making the news cycle, being that it's rather devoid of any other orb activity...is best measured at his monkeyland site...that recently posted thread...
...got ONLY ONE response. So clearly...if even orb's fansies are THAT indifferent to that little tidbit of "awwww how cute" pr...I imagine it fell with a huge thug to most anyone else! NOw as to the thread I mentioned last week...
How close to Platinum is Defying Gravity?
...that thread stalled and faded 5 days ago. And the thread of the monkey HOPING that orb's people PR his cd LIKE swifty's people PR her cds...well it obviously died from NO replies and seems it was deleted from the forums. Like I said, the swifty is a sore point with the monkeys! Now as to that "monkeyland scalper/TicketMaster" scalping scheme...wonder how it will affect the sales of the new cd? That, and the stench of the napalm...another "genius" move from orb's brain trust...doesnt bode well as a good indication!
I enjoyed the latest challenge of posting the lyric of the song on 5 websites so you can win $25 to spend at the online store!!!!!!
So let me get this straight, (again), I download, I copy, I find the websites, I post, then, if I'm lucky, I win a $25 gift card that I can only use at the online gift store that has merchandise that promotes KU.
Wow!
It's kind of like, I go to Walmart, I clock in, I get the mop, I get the bucket, I mop the floor, I dump the water, I put the mop away, and instead of a paycheck, I get a $25 gift card to Walmart!!!
Wow!
Pinch me, I think I just died and went to "Street Teamer" heaven!

Yes, hoosier...that technique is what is known as basically the coal mining "slave labor" model. Coal mining companys in the 1800's and the turn of last century...would strike a particular coal vein...and then basically build "shanty towns" where the laborers who were hired to work their coal mines would live...along with their families. And instead of paying the workers with actual money..the coal companies would make their own "money"...in most cases..."tokens"...that were only redemable at grocery and clothing stores...OWNED by the coal companies! That basically is the "model" that orb's fansie site is using. I imagine the purpose of offering a "$25 GIFT CARD"...as opposed to say... offering that they may win a orb t-shirt or orb coffee mug...is to try to attract entries from NON orb fansies. Someone entering believeing that it was simply a regular $25 gift, redemable anywhere...are no doubt bummed that it is only redemable for orb cheap merch crap at his fansie site. But... the purpose of the contest gets obtained...promoting the orb!
...seems like all is quiet on the orb's impecible "PR Brain Trust"...as orb's assault on "radio" was unleased prior to his single dropping and orb has no doubt huddled into the studio in a mad dash to finish up the new album. So, simply surfing the tubes...I ended up at youtube and recalled how I had compared swiftys "fan made" videos of her performance at the vma's of another song from her next album, "Innocent"... to orb's "fan made" videos of his new single, "Put you in a song"...and no surprise, swifty's videos lead orb's in views by a HUGE landslide. So that got me to wondering...how does orb's views on his offical youtube channel compare to OTHER country artists? So, to simplify, I compared the data and numbers of their Profile info. So I compared orb-(CMA Entertainer nominee) to...swifty, carrie underwood, brad paisley-(CMA Entertainer nominee), zack brown band-(CMA Entertainer nominee), miranda lambert-(CMA Entertainer nominee), lady antebellum-(CMA Entertainer nominee), rascal flatts and kenny chesney....
And so without further delay...here are the results:
#1 Name: Taylor Channel Views: 22,861,689 Total Upload Views: 76,082,366 Joined: September 20, 2006
#2 Name: Carrie Channel Views: 4,274,675 Total Upload Views: 70,768,770 Joined: March 17, 2006

So, orb also is pulling up the rear in this "pr option" And this basically backs up my contention, that the orb's fansie's may get all worked up and obsessed with getting the orb "radio" spins...and therefore his singles moving down the charts...he is lacking in other important PR techniques that may be of a more overall hindrence to his career. Now I dont think it is a coincidence that the top two on this Youtube videos most views list...swifty and underwood... have been the highest cd sellers the past few years. And I wouldnt even bother to try and decipher whether they got more video views because they sell more cds...or if they sell more cds because their videos get more views! It really is..."which came first, the chicken or the egg?" They are doing something right...and the orb isnt!
Great statistics maclen! More evidence that Keith isn't so in demand after all.
Does anyone know why Keith didn't put out a video for "I'm In" but will be putting one out for his latest flop? How many EOTY nominees do that - pick and choose which song they will make into a video?
blue sky said... "Great statistics maclen! More evidence that Keith isn't so in demand after all."
Yes, blue sky, and also relevent is the time orb started his youtube channel...March 2006. Orb was WELL into the whole PR relationship with mutt. In 6 months they were married, orb ended up in rehab...and his cd Whole crazy would end up selling well below his previous cd.
...oh yes, blue sky, just noticed at the monkeysite that orb is intending to already release a video for his next single! ONLY WEEKS after the single came out...AND not his customary MONTHS after! So, again...orb's "PR brain trust" MUST be checking in over here at our threads and got the point that it would be "PR prudent" to get a video out while the going was HOT and not wait for it to grow lukewarm! Ive been pointing THAT out for weeks! So...that provides another "PR video evaluation" opening for me to crunch some more numbers...via Youtube official singles video views... So, using the above mentioned 9 country performers...here are how their previous official singles videos stake out...
#1 swify: Mine- 8.2mil views - 3 wks Fearless-5.1 views- 7 months (*special note: considering swifty's last single was so recent, only 3 wks...I decided to add her previous single...as with others)
#2 Chesney: The Boys of Fall- 2.2 mil views -2 months ago (only 2 months old...BUT no other video nesessary!)
#3 underwood: Mama's song- 359k views- 2 days ago Undo it: 2.2 mil views- 4 months ago.
#4 lambert: Only Prettier-1.6 mil views- 2 months ago. (again no other nesessary!)
#5 paisley: Water- 1 mil views- 4 months ago
#6 zac brown band: -As she's Walking Away- 78k views- 1 week ago -Highway 20 Ride- 1.1 mil views- 7 months ago
#7 orb: 'Til Summer Comes Around- 831k views- 8 months ago
#8 Rascal: Unstoppable_579k views- 7 months ago
(#9 lady ant: Our Kind Of Love- 175k- 3 months ago American Honey- 1.9 mil views- 7 months ago. (*special note: apparently, lady ant DID NOT post these videos on THEIR youtube channel, but the offical videos are posted on the EMI youtube channel.)
So, despite Lady ant NOT posting their videos on their youtube channel, their previous video of 7 months ago also on the EMI youtube channel... DID "out view" orb's 8 month old video. Orb once again trailing most of the pack on single videos views.
So, today's announcement that orb will be releasing a "video" for the new single this upcoming weekend posted over at a new thread over at monkeyland...
CMT To Air New "Put You In A Song" Video October 1-3, 2010
...and the initial comment basically spells it out...
breathingmusic72 said... "CMT Big New Music Weekend. Just in time for All For The Hall. A new video!!!"
...the orb is shilling his new single...with a new video...to be debuted JUST before the "BENEFIT for orb" and the episode of Extreme Makeover, where orb appears on behalf of that nearby NASHVILLE Christian School is to be shown JUST A FEW days before the CMA awards. And again, orb shilling for his music or award votes would be rather normal...IF he wasnt simply exploiting the charities of the Hall and the Christian School to do it! Swifty is performing at the UN... JUST to PR her upcoming cd...she is NOT dragging charity causes to HELP get her more attention. Orb apparently feels he needs to exploit charity for his own career needs! So again, ANOTHER instance of the orb shilling his music off the pretense of "so called" charity work! Well that new thread is NOT EVEN a full's day old...AND already it's gotten 27 replies! Yes, just the notion of seeing orb prancing his frosted highlights and shaking his behind in a video has the monkeys in a tizzy...but the newly posted LYRICS of the song got about 2 to 3 replies and another 1 or 2 thank you's a few weeks ago when they were posted! But considering orb's video's are basically the least viewed...will it make a big difference this upcoming November?
I really would love to go to a concert of their closer here to my home and get Kenny Chesney Tickets , seems like all the biggest concerts are so far away from me.Hope so .

Might have.

So, just stay tuned for my next...Hypothesis!
..."nostradamus-ly"...
...well well well...isnt this bit interesting...just noticed over at the monkeysite's home page...
http://www.keithurban.net/
...you'll see a banner saying, "KEITH TO DONATE ALL NEW MONKEYVILLE MEMBERSHIPS & RENEWALS BETWEEN 9/7 AND 10/5 TO HALL OF FAME"
...so, when did this announcement come out? When did orb decide to donate all the money from memberships to his fansie site to the Hall? Well, a quick google search reveals...
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=keith%20urban%20donates%20fansite%20memberships%20to%20hall%20of%20fame&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=nw
...it came out...on Sept 8 2010.
And I just want to add, MACLEN I look forward to your posts, as well as other regulars here. I like your style!

Thanks mikki...just as you say...these ARE my opinions...not much chance anyone changing them...simply WITH THEIR OWN OPINIONS! And I surely believe MY ad nauseum comments are laced with far more facts and reality than the "gushing" fansies. So it's onward and... so forth...
When did Keith say the new album was inspired all by Nicole?!
One example, Laura:
Keith Urban reveals why the title of his new CD “GET CLOSER” was inspired by his wife Nicole Kidman.
http://www.crookandchase.com/radio.aspx
He said the TITLE was inspired by her.. Not the whole album.
Now, as to monkeyland as that barometer for orbs PR campaigns...the story thrown out by orb to shill his newly released single...of orb "recording two songs" with daughter sunry...may be making the news cycle, being that it's rather devoid of any other orb activity...is best measured at his monkeyland site...that recently posted thread...
http://www.keithurban.net/forum/index.php?topic=41120.0
Sunday Rose makes 2 songs!!
...got ONLY ONE response.

Wow!"
So in this "E-o'-L-N-M's: orb edition...
...seems like all is quiet on the orb's impecible "PR Brain Trust"...as orb's assault on "radio" was unleased prior to his single dropping and orb has no doubt huddled into the studio in a mad dash to finish up the new album. So I compared orb-(CMA Entertainer nominee) to...swifty, carrie underwood, brad paisley-(CMA Entertainer nominee), zack brown band-(CMA Entertainer nominee), miranda lambert-(CMA Entertainer nominee), lady antebellum-(CMA Entertainer nominee), rascal flatts and kenny chesney....
...to be continued...
...continued...
And so without further delay...here are the results:

Yes, blue sky, and also relevent is the time orb started his youtube channel...March 2006. Orb was WELL into the whole PR relationship with mutt. In 6 months they were married, orb ended up in rehab...and his cd Whole crazy would end up selling well below his previous cd.
...furtherthought...
...oh yes, blue sky, just noticed at the monkeysite that orb is intending to already release a video for his next single!
#1
swify: Mine- 8.2mil views - 3 wks
Fearless-5.1 views- 7 months
(*special note: considering swifty's last single was so recent, only 3 wks...I decided to add her previous single...as with others)
#2
Chesney: The Boys of Fall- 2.2 mil views -2 months ago (only 2 months old...BUT no other video nesessary!)
#3
underwood: Mama's song- 359k views- 2 days ago
Undo it: 2.2 mil views- 4 months ago.
#4
lambert: Only Prettier-1.6 mil views- 2 months ago. (again no other nesessary!)
#5
paisley: Water- 1 mil views- 4 months ago
#6
zac brown band: -As she's Walking Away- 78k views- 1 week ago
-Highway 20 Ride- 1.1 mil views- 7 months ago
#7
orb: 'Til Summer Comes Around- 831k views- 8 months ago
#8
Rascal: Unstoppable_579k views- 7 months ago
(#9
lady ant: Our Kind Of Love- 175k- 3 months ago
American Honey- 1.9 mil views- 7 months ago.

You people are wasting a lot of time and effort on someone you obviously don't like. Can't you find anything better to do?
