Certainly Kidman will have to appear during Oprah's final year, so she will bring her musical husband along to entertain the audience, since she can't. Duh. And didn't Keith have his BIGGEST fan contest on his website a couple years back? So, he has Oprah redo the whole contest to pick a "new" biggest fan? And why? Why isn't each "fan" just as good as the next? Why must they prove themselves? Just because one fan can afford to, and be able to go to 99 shows, and another fan can only fit one show in the budget (or maybe none at all), does not a "biggest" fan make. Do other artists have "fans" compete against each other to prove themselves the "biggest" fan? Why isn't being "a fan of the music" enough? Be grateful and get over yourself, Mr. Kidman Urban.
Calling ALL Keith Urban fans!
Are you or someone you know Keith Urban?s BIGGEST fan? Tell us what you love about Keith Urban and why. How many concerts of his have you attended? Have you traveled far and wide to see him perform? Do you know all the words to his songs? What would it mean to you to see Keith Urban in person and hear him sing!!? Include any pictures or videos to tell your story. Thank you and we look forward to hearing why you are the biggest Keith Urban fan! Please only respond if you are willing to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oooohhhhh....the "all mighty oprah" will help orb sell cds! Yeah, remember what oprah's endorsement of mutts film, "Australia" did for that film!
Is it just MY ancient computer...or does the pre-order page for orbs "padded" cd at Target.com...
http://www.target.com/Get-Closer-Deluxe-Only-Target/dp/B004006YCY/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton
...also NOT INCLUDE A TRACKLISTING for the cd?! Is orb STILL UNCERTAIN as to what songs are going to be on this cd...that his "brain trust" hasnt bothered to send a tracklisting to Target yet?!
Oh, I can see the 40 to 50 year-old female fans right now submitting their videos. We'll get the "honor" of touring their Keith rooms in their homes where they have pictures of Keith hanging that they paid $300 each on eBay. Little do they know that if they just googled Keith, they could find the same picture on the internet for free to frame and hang on their wall of Keith.
We'll see the numerous concert tickets of shows they have attended, and the total number of miles they have traveled to see Keith perform.
We'll hear stories about how they missed their grandparents funeral because they had to attend a concert!
I'm glad to see this happening. It will be proof of how ill-minded his ultimate fans really are for being adults!
And one more thing, did you ever think the old Keith Urban would ever be on Oprah?
Let the embarrassment begin!

Ha! hilarious blue sky, BUT NOT as far off as that MAY sound! Did you read the one where a monkey was able to find a JOB...but since his/her first day on the job would have prevented them from going to an orb concert...they called in to quit the job?! They proudly proclaimed...they KNEW where their priorities lay! As to being on Oprah? About as embarrassing as being on American Idol?
I know why Keith is going on Oprah. Nicole wants him to jump on the couch just like Tom did. It wouldn't surprise me, if she isn't making him do it. She tried to make him go on Oprah after rehab, but he tricked her and did the video. Oh this is going to be good.
In this "Edition of Insomniac Theater 3000: orb edition...
...so latest developements over at monkeyland...apparently defying sales was just "certified" platinum by the RIAA. Recall last month I mentioned that the wiki page for the cd has JUST updated the sales numbers from 892k sold as of june 2010...to 894k sold as of Sept 2010...and this just AFTER the monkeys had mentioned that capnash had JUST SHIPPED OUT 100k cds to store outlets. Well, in the "ridiculous days" of decades ago...the RIAA USED to simply certify albums platinum for simply SHIPPING a million cd out...but NOT ACTUALLY SELLING a million cds. But apparetly, they occasionally STILL CERT CDS for simple million SHIPPING! Wiki numbers...the only "PUBLIC" numbers out there, just showed cd sales of defying sales of ONLY 2,400 sold in the previous 3 months time...yet we should believe DS sold 100k cds in the past 30 days? RIIIIGGHGHTT....So, the monkeys ARE celebrating orb getting an obvious "GIFTED" platinum cert from the RIAA...well, I suppose 1 year 7 months later is better than never for the monkeys....no matter how ridiculously dubious that is! But actually the reason I bring it up...IT IS, actually with a certain amount of satisfaction for ME that the RIAA has cert'd orb cd platinum...
....to be continued...
...continued...
...so, again to the RIAA's dubious recent cert of defying sales going "platinum"...dubious because I dont for one second beleive IT HAS SOLD a million cds...it has sold about 890k cds...and the RIAA clearly cert'd it platinum for the recent shipment of 100k cds...a RIAA "BAD HABIT"...BUT, I do want to claim it as a huge CONFIRMATION of my theory...you know, my infamous..."Declination Theory" on the state of orb's cd sales. The theory is...in the past 5 years...orb's cds ONLY SELL HALF OF THE PREVIOUS CD...this theory was confirmed to me last year, when orb's defying sales ONLY sold 171k cds in it first week...and orb's previous cd...Love Pain had sold 270k cds. So, last year, I posted this...

"So taking that trend into effect... I wouldnt be surprised if Defying Gravity sold only about a million copies... again taking the Ghits repeat cd out of the equation and only including new song albums... the orbs album sales have been basically half of his previous album for the past 4 years. Plus taking into account that the just released Gravity has just sold only 171k cds in its first week, which is only half of previous cd, love pain and crazy album's first week sales of 270k cd sold... that "only selling half of previous album" trend is confirmed...Am I right? We'll just have to wait and see how Defying Gravity does in the end.

...well, it's the end...and 1 year and 7 months later, the RIAA CLAIMS DS has "GONE" platinum. AND I"M WILLING TO TAKE IT! Although it most certainly has only sold about 890k cds...the RIAA has CONFIRMED MY PREDICTION. So, the numbers on my "Declination Theory" are PERFECT...orb's BE Here has sold 4 mil cds...Love pain sold 2 mil...and now...defying sales has sold 1 mil cds...although, actually not...but...my theory...while technical...IS CORRECT! EAT THAT MONKEYS! All this year, Ive been MOCKING orb's cd for NOT being able to sell a mil...because that IS WHAT I PREDICTED IT WOULD SELL...and it only now has reached that very pathetic level...thanks to the RIAA. So...continue reading for my next...very bold and exciting comment..AND next prediction...
...to be continued...
...so...with this latest developement...and FLUSH with immense SATISFACTION that my "Declination Theory" has been confirmed to be perfect...so far...I'm going to make a BOLD PREDICTION. Last year, I WAITED until the first week of orb's cd sales came out to make my prediction that it would..."sell only about a mil cds"...so...drum roll please...I predict that orb next cd...will...only...sell...about half a million copies!! Whoa, that was pretty exhilarating. But clearly, I'm not too concerned with maybe getting some things wrong. Clearly, I dont shy away from making my opinions on the state of these two, mutt or jeff's careers! People simply restating the simple facts...after the fact...is very easy...but I like to try and analyse and forsee trends...and yes even "predict"...I mean what do I believe I am...under oath! So taking all things in the past year into analysis...the fact that the orb had only 11 months to write and record... and overdub this new cd...(his previous, "1 mil" selling cd had 29 months time to come out)...and that I truly believe that capnash is "rush releasing" the cd to just get it out and over with...the quote from a capnash insider that the label is going to take "a stripped down approach" when releasing the orb's cd...coupled with the rumor that this may be the orbs last cd with capnash...the fact that the first single, all of written by 3...count them, 3 songwriters...sounds like a shallow rip off of a Bay City Rollers knock off...and seems to have fallen of any digital downloads or sales charts already...is set to have competition this year, NOT from "pop" singer Prince, who's cd ONLY SOLD AT TARGET STORES LAST YEAR...but ANOTHER country act, rascal flatts upon release...connivingly and deceptively putting his buzzkill "ball and chain" on the cover of his cd...all signal to me that this cd MAY be a very pathetic and weaker seller! So again, Am I right? Check in about a year and 7 months from now...
I think Remember is right. Keith wouldn't be caught dead on Oprah but she is buds with the wife and there is this thing called the Oprah effect
when someone goes on Oprah their sales skyrocket. He has whored himself for less and its probably Kidman saying he can reach the little people. I doubt he wants to do too much promotion for this record.
Well, actually Tara...not sure what effect being on Oprah will have...from what I'm reading, the ratings for oprah so far this year...the last season of the show on network air...are down. I certainly believe it..."kidman PR 101" is a real buzzkill. Take this for instance...this CANNOT BE GOOD for his cd sales...
http://www.couriermail.com.au/entertainment/confidential/keith-urbans-keeps-writing-about-his-wife-nicole-kidman/story-e6freq7o-1225939913605
Keith Urban's keeps writing about his wife Nicole Kidman
Although he has a perfectly reasonable press release story about the inspiration for Put You In A Song, one sweep of the lyrics reveals his devotion to the missus."
...this HURTS the orb...it DOES NOT HELP! Take a look at orb's own Facebook page...
http://www.facebook.com/keithurban
...whereas the "CD cover polls"...where the "SOLO" photo got OVER 22,000 "likes" but the eventual photo chosen to be on the cover revealed to include mutt, got ONLY 6,593 "likes"...if you also look at the "studio sessions" blog entry of video showing orb actually working on the recording of the cd...that only got 26 "likes" and only 5 comments. Even this own fansies are NOT THAT into the cd and what's on it...AT ALL! I mean, is there a disconnect between the "unenthusiastic" reaction to the actual "music"...and the far more noticable "enthusiasm" to his "frosted highlights?!"
Well, it seems that the "rumblings" that orb MAY be out at capnash...have just now reached the poorly informed monkeys.

"Both Capitol and Liberty are part of the huge conglomerate EMI that owns both labels and many more. Lots of changes were announced last year with EMI, including shifting company leaders as well as artists. ... Since that was the name used on the official RIAA site, 'apparently' that's who is now considered to be Keith's 'distrbutor'... but again, it's all a part of EMI, just like Capitol.
Also, according to Roger Friedman, a well-known Hollywood reporter who is NOT a paparazzi... who is also a bit of a 'friend' to Nicole and now Keith... Get Closer has been "licensed" to Capitol for distribution.

"I don't think he's going to 'sign' with anyone else at all. He's still connected to EMI... they are his main company and 'distributor' worldwide (Canada, Australia, Europe), and they own Capitol as well as Liberty. In my opinion (for what that's worth!) Keith is more 'in charge' of his own destiny this way, creatively as well as how he distributes his work. He doesn't have the 'restrictions' of a tight contract (IF, indeed, this article is accurate!) ... to produce so many albums within a certain time frame, etc., or even the 'style' of music."
...yes, this "linda37" SURE is putting a very POSITIVE spin on this...and yes, does state...IF, indeed, this article is accurate!...but notice "linda37" quotes the Friedman artice about how orb "has licensed the cd to capnash" to relieve the worry of the other monkeys...BUT linda37 DOESNT mention from that same friedman article where he ALSO states...
"...but his deal his over. And he’s happy to be a free man in such a crazy record business."
...seems to me that linda37 is trying VERY hard to "sugarcoat" that possiblity. Trying to claim that he is now "free of restrictions" of a record label...BUT is still somehow "CONNECTED" to parent company EMI...and that orb NOW CONTROLS his OWN distribution! Being I suppose that orb can simply record his OWN albums...whenever HE wants...and can then "license" the album to a distributor. But, it cost's money to record your own album...and what if a distributor DOESNT want to distribute his cds? That doesnt sound at all like a smart move to make...seeing how his cd sales of late have been pretty weak. No, if orb is out at his label and distributor...it is because he was NOT successful enough to remain there. And so the question would be, who else would take him?
It seems obvious that this appearance on Oprah is an attempt to heighten both their profiles to sell his CD and her film. Don't think they have ever appeared together on a talk show, have they? NK must think their first appearance together will create a lot of interest. She lost OZ when Australia came out. She needs them back to sell Rabbit Hole. Keith and his music are all about promoting NK. Thats his part in all of this. Thats my opinion.
Well, this IS the type of promo that I truly believe will turn off many of orb's "iffy" fans regarding this topic! So here I will highlight it for any monkey's lurking...look at what you'll be getting in this anemic cd...
http://www.theboot.com/2010/10/18/keith-urban-get-closer-album/
"The singer-songwriter digs deep to reveal the inner workings of love and "getting closer" to the one you love on his new album. He previously mentioned that his "experience was the closer I got to something that I felt could destroy me, I just want to run," which is not the case any more for Keith now that he's married and has a beautiful two-year-old daughter. So, the title, 'Get Closer,' goes beyond just falling in love. It examines what happens after you fall in love, as well.
"My wife refers to it as 'a well-examined life,'" Keith tells The Boot. "And I think deep down all of us want to make the most out of this life and experience as much as we can and love as much as we can, like where can that go? How far does that go? And, of course, the truth is it's endless. There's no end to it. It's my willingness to keep moving forward and really get closer, which is what the album is about. It's also to sort of say, 'Have we fallen into a rut as a couple? Have we stagnated? Are we just sort of living together and co-habitating, or are we really working on getting closer to each other? No matter how long we've been together, are we still trying to get to know one another and get closer and let the other one in?' And that's a never-ending process too. So, the title really is about all of those things."
...So, as I basically questioned prior to all this "info"...and I clearly mentioned that it would be about..."His marriage, fatherhood and the tennessee flooding." Well, I WAS clearly wrong about dealing with fatherhood or the flooding of tennessee...I guess the orb COULDNT deal with ALL THREE subjects...so his album IS SIMPLY about how he can "keep his marriage from stagnating!" So, outside of his usual faithful fansies...who ELSE will want to buy this cd...which is basically...and simply about the state of his marriage? And yes, I truly believe this cd WILL BE an indication of what orb's fans think of his marriage to mutt...as orb himself proclaims the cd is about how he can "get closer" to her! Me, I'll take that his fansie's will proclaim..."GET! Loser!" The 20,000 votes for a solo orb on the cover at his facebook page...over the 6500 who voted for the "mutt AND jeff" cover...is just a preview!
wow... they are both so desperate to keep this strange relationship going. she had to gravitate and he has to get closer. it's still all so absurd and manufactured. i feel sorry for him. he really thinks this is the way love works.
so keith's job on oprah is to be the looker and the idol. so that makes the woman audience either worship her or envy her, LOL. it such a win win situation for her ego.
why not have nick's fans there as well. sorry all i can think of would be the dirty old men who watch her for the wrong reasons. that is probably why she keeps so much security around.
I like this part from a previous article on The Boot:
"But the key that unlocks the door going forward is to get closer, that really is the way forward. So, consequently the album started to really address the power in getting closer in situations."
He's reduced his marriage to Nicole to the recognition of power plays -- one against the other. Who has the upper hand. Who cracks the whip. If there was any doubt as to what kind of relationship he has at home, here is clarification. It all comes down to power and domination.
FINE, I agree that this relationship is manufactured - to benefit both their careers by way of keeping them in the media. I don't believe for a minute that this is anymore than a PR marriage which is why Keith has no clue "the way love works". His job is to sell the marriage and he does that at every opportunity. Its all SO obvious. There is no "perfect" marriage. People who are truly in love have no desire to share it with the world.
Maclen your right. Keith has reduced everything to NK and only his diehard fans will continue to support him. For them it really is more about the "high lights" than anything else.
Sounds like someone has read too many self help books. Sorry don't buy the crap.
I wonder if they will be on Oprah together? It sounds like Keith will be on during sweeps (November) and Kidman will show up when Oprah is down under. Think how awkward they would be on national tv? Kidman who hasn't a clue as to what he does but who can pretend for a few minutes in a close up at an awards ceremony. We have all seen that she is not comfortable talking about him and has asked interviewers in the past to ask something else. He will say anything about her but might falter under her watchful gaze.
I heard a small portion of an interview where he says the songs on this album, of course, are about her, as well as finding the courage to fall in love.
I'm really not understanding how it takes courage to fall in love. It just happens and naturally. Keith seemed to have courage when it came to jumping in the sack with the ladies.
Maybe it would be more believable if he said - finding the courage to stay faithful?
Not a country music fan, don't know much about his music and been absent from this site because have nothing to say. However, I do notice this. A singer who has to resort to all kinds of marketing ploys to attract fans, including offering freebies (guitars and whatever else, his album cover contest (geez givemeabreak), etc. and not thorugh his quality product (music), does say a lot about his talent and career (not an artistic but this singing for him is a business veture than artistic expression...what real musicians out there for music do this?) Totally mercenary and really juvenile in taste; though he's in his 40's his target audience can't be his peers. Very small wonder he sucks as an artist...because he's not one
I'm hoping these two are together for the entire show. They are so awkward and unnatural together when you see them for a minute interview on the red carpet. Could you imagine a full hour of them conversing about their life together? There will be lots of canoodling, but many, and I mean many moments of awkwardness.
I'm hoping they will be a segment themselves the following week on Joel McHale's "Chat Soup"!
Blue Sky- that awkwardness is exactly why I would be surprised if they do Oprah together. Although a whole hour or Kidman would be interesting but i don't think she will even do an hour.
Its sad when I listened to a recent audio interview with Keith and it took him a very long while to remember the last book he read to his daughter. "um oh well um Dr. Seuss um The cat in the hat I read that over and over again."
um yeah sure

Well worth repeating and very well said! I'm within his age group, and I have not been able to relate to any of his songs since "Stupid Boy". Is that a parody or what?
His relationship with his wife is that of a teenager. I'd really like to know what happened to that private Keith Urban. I have an old DVD of him at Jamboree in the Hills. Nikki was on the side of stage and was visible by the audience and cameras. It was apparent that he didn't like her being so visible, and she finally moved. Now he is asking everyone in the audience to sing happy birthday to his wife. What has changed?
Expecting adult fans to turn everything in their world to revolve around him just so they can be on Oprah is something I would never picture a 40+ year-old man to do - unless he wants to sell something.
Sorry to be posting so many comments this afternoon. I found this gem and had to post it for maclen. You were right - John Mayer messed with Taylor Swift. But she gets him back on her next album.
On her record, Taylor has the following lyrics:
"I see it all now that you're gone Don't you think I was too young To be messed with The girl in the dress Cried the whole way home I should've known.
"It was wrong Don't you think nineteen's too young To be played By your dark, twisted games When I loved you so.
"My mother accused me of losing my mind But I swore I was fine You'll add my name to your long list of traitors Who don't understand And I'll look back in regret I ignored what they said 'Run as fast as you can.'
John messed with a 19 year-old girl, one of Nashville's own, but yet remains BFFs with Keith. Just remember Keith, Sunday Rose will be 19 one day!
And speaking of Sunday Rose and reading to her, if he read the book over and over to her, the name of the book would be engraved into his forehead, but he had to think of the first most well-known book that came to mind instead.

It's funny that you bring up Nikki, the granny worshippers have all but erased her from KU's wiki page - got forbid he was with a REAL woman that ACTUALLY takes care of her kids before Mrs. Freeze got her claws into him.
On a side note I just saw KU do a "Happy Birthday" commercial for the American Cancer Society. I would be considered a "fading fan" but my birthday is coming up and he looks like the old beautiful Keith. So, my bday wish will be for him to finally wake the hell up and kick granny to the curb!!

Well, actually mikki, that's FROSTED highlights! Ha! Yeah, so WHAT is so detrimental to orb's "PR" push here...is that he and mutt have MADE a point of stating that THEIR "personal relationship" was to be private...and all that they would reveal is that they are together...yet now orb seems to have no qualms whatsoever basing this whole album on that relationship! So along with losing the fansie's who no doubt find mutt's tinseltown pre-fabricated and manufactured phoniness a total turn off...he loses those fansie's who may actually hear that he WASNT making his private life public!

Yeah, I forgot to list the napalm to orb's overtly "lamebrain PR" this entire year...clearly, the napalm will learn...what goes around, comes around! And basically, in napalm's current "shamed state" he can't afford to "answer back" without simply continueing to look "douchy!" So he would be wise to simply keep his mouth shut. And also of course, orb's "BFF" status with napalm CANNOT be good for him...I mean, country darling swifty taking a shot at napalm...in a scathing swipe...wont look favorably on orb. And to any "whining" by...well, I doubt if you;ll find anyone...even an napalm fansie, willing to defend napalm...orb fansie's who no doubt "respect' orb's bff...must recall, swifty HAS MADE NO pretense of NOT making HER personal life a part of her music! And so far, it's been a COMPLETE success for her!
So, what is MOST telling in the recent announcement of the American Country Awards...
http://music-mix.ew.com/2010/10/18/american-country-awards-lady-antebellum/
Lady Antebellum, Easton Corbin lead American Country Awards nominations
...is NOT that orb just got the one nomination...it's his "obligatory" nom after all...but that there were NO NOMs for the music! Not for album...or even a video...(no surprise to me)...not even for a "flying down the country singles charts" song nomination! And what up with nothing for "Touring"...isnt orb supposedly the "guitar hero" extraordinaire? Well, it's the exact same story in the upcoming CMA's...two noms, one for "entertainer"...(you know he's been nominated EVERY YEAR since he got in 2005?) and again, for Male Voc...BUT no noms for MUSIC. NO album, song..video...again, the "frosted highlights" keep him in the "crowd"... that "good ol' boys" club...but the music get's nothing.
No, I see what you are saying Fading Fan. Instead of giving $5,000 out of their pocket for the flood victims, they want something back in return, and to them a guitar from Keith is worth any amount of money. Then they also think that Keith knows who they are, and they MUST be his ultimate fan for doing this.
Did they ever hear of paying it forward? Perhaps out of the goodness of their hearts they will donate the money and then hand over the guitar to one of the flood victims. Yea, right!
The confusion and miscommunication over the new CD is comical... but even for Team Urban, it's pretty weak, esp the release on the same day as Rascal-Flatts.
Here's an interesting piece that questions his CD release strategy:
http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/stories/101810keithurban#OGfpAxeQFqcVLROtzeNy2w
You do realize that Keith is not the only artist to have guitars up for auction? Nor are his fans the only ones bidding on these guitars. Both Peter Frampton and Vince Gill have guitars up at the same time as Keith's (amoung others)and right now Keith's is around $890 (not $5,000) and theirs are over 1,000. So are their fans crazy and obsessed or is it just Keiths? Are their fans doing this out of the goodness of their hearts for the flood victims and Keith's fans just want the guitar that he use to play?? I don't think so. Next month guitars from Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney will go up on auction for this charity, let's see how high their non-obsessed fans are willing to pay for those guitars.
Keith Urban's Off-Target Strategy
"Starting November 16th, Urban is releasing a deluxe version of his upcoming album, Get Closer, to Target. Okay, nothing new there - plenty of well-established artists have minted millions through big-box exclusives. And on its face, the deluxe release is just the sort of thing that dedicated fans love - live cuts, unreleased tracks, etc.
"But take a closer look, and the strategy starts to show holes. The 'deluxe' version of the album actually contains about double the amount of content as the "normal" version, which has 8 tracks (notice the accidental pun). And guess which version is only available at Target (and target.com)?
It gets worse, because by Urban's own admission, the 'normal' release can be considered a compromised version of the real thing..."
The entire article is at
http://links.visibli.com/links/6365fa
Yeah music...THAT IS a VERY interesting article...and before I begin...I'd just like to make clear...for the record...I AM NOT the author of this piece...Resnikoff...(the fact, it's pointed out this piece was written while the author wrote it "while listening to "Keith Urban In the Ranch" PROVES it is NOT BY ME!)
This quote...
"So, according to Urban, the expectation is that a fan will buy the shorter version, then run to Target and re-purchase the deluxe to continue the high? As if fans - especially younger fans - have no other options?"
...IS EXACTLY the reaction I had and commented on when I heard orb's quote about how his fansie's who buy the paltry 8 track cd...and would then want to BUY the other cd...basically...buying it again! Clearly, the few diehard fansies at monkeyville who claim they are going to buy 2...3 copies...and then buy the downloads...believe me, is not going to be the norm.
...past post...
...an intersting comment from a commenter to that article suggest the live bonus tracks on the new cd are already released on a live dvd...if that is the case...I would say that gives far more of orbs remaining fansies less of a desire to get the deluxe version. Now, the fact that rascal flatts is ALSO releasing a country cd on the same day...I'm basically looking at that as you would a political election. I'm sure the rascal fansies will buy their cd..and orb fansies will buy his cd...and then the question becomes...which will get those "undecided voters"...or in this case the undecided buyers? Those country fans just shopping in the stores...check out the new cd releases...who are they more likely to be interested in sampling on that day?
These fans will probably think they are getting some piece of valuable memorabilia and will really be worth something someday. But collectors only want items like this in mint condition. Will it have value because it was flooded in the Cumberland River? I don't think so.
I'm just stating the obvious. Some around here seem to think that Keith is the devil incarnate. Keith and Kidman have done lots (and I do mean lots) of things that I have not liked. I've been around this meassage board and other skeptic boards since before they were married. I've been thrown off of boards with others who post here because we were "too skeptical". For the most part I just read but every so often I feel the need to bring some reality back to what's being posted here. Some don't want to accept it but I am a skeptic and have been since the beginning of this relationship. I just don't dislike everything Keith does just for the sake of disliking it.
This is a skeptic blog. That's why it was started to get the word out to other skeptics who were out there and weren't on any of the private boards that were around at the beginning of this blog. To give them a place to post. To let them know they weren't alone. So as a skeptic, I have just as much right to be here as anyone else. There are varying degrees of skeptism. It's not all black and white.
So, for this Edition of Insomniac Theater 3000: orb edition...
so...you may recall a previous comment I had made...how I had noticed that the current elite country stars...swifty, underwood, paisely, chesney et al...ALL not only had "Officail Youtube Channels"...BUT that they all also had a "Vevochannel"...

...you know, I just noticed while I was just persusing youtube...a while ago I had made a list of the most viewed "Official Youtube Channels" of the top elite country stars...and orb came in dead last. Well, what I just noticed is...that the top country stars...swifty, underwood, chesney, paisley...lambert....ALL also have a "VEVO" channel on youtube...And I noticed that vevo channel videos get 2, 3 and sometimes 4 times the views of videos on a youtube channel. So, swifty, underwood et al, with vevo channels get from the low side of 4 million to upwards of 20 mil and 24mil views, (in the cases of swifty and underwood)...of their music videos! And of course, NOT VERY SURPRISING...the orb DOES NOT HAVE A VEVO CHANNEL ON YOUTUBE.
...well, guess what? Orb NOW has a vevo channel at youtube! Well, I guess orb's "brain trust"...while monitoring our little blog threads...apparently thought it "WISE" to take my observation into consideration...and are ONLY NOW, making an attempt to get those EYES and VIEWS to orb's rather pathetic video! Well, on orb's vevo channel, his single which is mark as posted ...guess which day? THAT"S RIGHT...orb's newest single video was posted on his brand new vevo channel... ON OCT 8TH...THE SAME DAY AS MY COMMENT ON ORB LACKING A VEVO CHANNEL! HA!HA! Yeah clearly, no doubt... orb's "brain trust" at this very moment are sweating my VERY extensive comments on hoodwinking this Facebook fansies with his patently disingenuous "baiting and switching" the cd cover photos...of a photo...NO ONE VOTED FOR... and of which is the LEASTED "liked" by his facebook fansies! The patented "scam" of his fansie site monkeymods... leaving his monkeymembers "ignorantly" confused on the true track number on his cd at amazon.com with a measly 8 track list...until they came out with a "deluxe" cd with bonus tracks "exclusive" to Target...WEEKS later! So a message to orb's lurking "brain trust...I WOULD ACTUALLY recommend to you...BEFORE you simply deal with trying to get more EYES AND VIEWS to orb's also pretty measly...and inexpensive video for his first single off this new cd...THAT YOU DEAL WITH ORB'S RATHER SHALLOW...INSIGNIFICANT...COTTON CANDY SOUNDING AND OBVIOUS RIP OFF OF THE BAY CITY ROLLERS MUSIC! You can hardly build a lasting or meaningful musical "legacy"...on bubble gum!
By the way, the newly moved video for orb's video..."Put you in a song"...which is dated posted on oct 8...at orb's new vevo channel...has a WHOPPING 302 VIEWS so far! Well, so much for orbs music attracting those eyes and views! HA!
..."Insomniac Theater 3000: orb Edition...part deux...
...so, speaking of orb's pretty shabby "bait and switch" on his gullable facebook followers...if you'll notice now on orb's Facebook page...
http://www.facebook.com/keithurban#
...the posting of the photo's of a "solo" orb and of orb draped by a headless mutt used for the poll of which photo should be used...ARE MISSING! The posted photos, of a solo orb which got over 22,000 "likes" from orb facebook fansies...and the photo with a headless mutt...which got over 9,000 "likes" are NO LONGER POSTED...BUT the final posted chosen photo...which is A TOTALLY different photo... with a middle aged mutt snoring away on the bed, which by the way HAS ONLY GOTTEN 6,600 "likes"....the least of the photos... IS still posted! No doubt because the photo of a "solo orb" WAS STILL getting likes! I guess the orb's "brain trust" was getting very "sensitive" to the comments over here on the UM threads...of the disingenuousness of it...the sheer mockery of orb's facebook followers opinions...and just GOT RID of them...no doubt hoping that the facebook fansie's...you know...those over 15,000 fansies who 'liked" the "solo" photo but then DIDN"T "like" the final chosen...and different photo...would simply over look the clear slight! So, lurking orb "brain trust"...you think orb's fansie's are THAT stupid?! Well, the few who come over here will get the inside scoop of your lame shenanegans!
If we want to bring other artists into this, should we compare what other artists do for their fan club members versus what Keith does for his fan club members? How about those great seats that Keith's fan club members get or perhaps I should say don't get because they can't pull anything on the pre-sales. Too bad fan club members have to run to eBay to buy the good seats, but yet they keep putting their hard-earned money in Keith's pocket.
I had a real good laugh the other day at Keith's expense. Does everyone have a junk drawer in their house? Well, I was going through mine, and guess what I re-discovered? Remember those little plastic green CD case openers we got years ago? I can't even remember what we had to do to get the cheap things. Needless to say, it was thrown in the garbage because the dumb thing never worked, and I was just hanging onto it because it was a fan club gimmick. I'm so glad I saw the light and walked into it!
Keith's vevo channel says "account closed" and the video for PYIAS now says marked private. What's up with that?
It probably went pay-per-view!!!!
I like this site because everyone can have a say as long as they are respectful. I have been around as long as 123 and I too have been kicked off sites. I don't always agree here but like all the opinions.
Back to the topic...
so the rumor floating out there today is alternative CD covers. Yes boys and girls will there be a choice in what cover you purchase? Much like Be Here with the great black and white and then the dumb cover in color will all three covers be available? And of course the over the top fans will have to buy all three. Marketing strikes again..

"Keith's vevo channel says "account closed" and the video for PYIAS now says marked private. What's up with that?"
Well, Fading Fan, when I click on orb's vevo channel link...the page simply states, "This channel is not available." It's pretty clear...orb's vevo channel is NOT YET set up...and orb's new single is the only video posted on vevo. If you search orb's previous singles...they ALL now show on the EMImusic youtube channel. So clearly, orb's brain trust simply put his new single, first posted on his Official Youtube Channel on oct 5th...onto Vevo later in the day of Oct 8th... AFTER I had commented on here that Vevo channel videos get 2 to 4 times MORE VIEWS than youtube channel videos...and also pointed out that the orb DID NOT have a vevo channel! Well, NOW orb has at least one video, his latest single on vevo...with ALL of 558 views!
Fading fan, I'm not upset at all by what anyone here says. I'm just stating my opinion so that someone who maybe lurks here will see that not everything posted here is the be all and end all. There are many sides to skeptism. You can still like him and dislike her and them. As I stated above, I've been a part of this world called KUNK for over 5 years now. I have been where you are now (like 4 yrs ago). Just because he chose her doesn't mean I have to like her. I didn't like her before they got together, why should I change how I feel about her just because he married her?? I didn't like her being shoved down our throats. Then I realized whether I like it or not she is a part of his life now. That yeah unfortunately we have to hear about his personal life much more then I would like but I have a choice in this. I can either let it bother me (and moan about it, which after 5 yrs of skeptics moaning about it, hasn't made him stop). I can move on (to some other artist). Or I can say LA LA LA with my fingers in my ears while he talks about her and then enjoy the rest of his show or live interview, etc. It's really just minutes out of a show or seconds in an interview. Keith in concert, is still the same Keith he always was. Keith one on one with fans is still the same guy he always was. All other aspects of Keith's life have changed and chances are that, that Keith is gone forever, never to return regardless if Kidman stays or goes. He's seen and experienced too much in Kidman's world to ever go back to who he was before her. Whether anyone else here believes this or not, I believe that this relationship started out as one thing and over the years has changed. Keith isn't that good of an actor. He believes what he's saying. I've been there, up close to see him do his dedications to her. I don't think he knows what love is but this is his version of what he thinks or she's told him it should be. He's done it for so long now that he believes it to be true. Keith will never leave her. It's not his MO. His MO is to do things to make the woman leave him. Well, he did all that in the beginning and Kidman stayed. So as long as Kidman sees an up side for her, she's not going anywhere either. So as a fan you have to decide whether you are willing to accept Keith for who he is now or move on. I still think he's an amazing performer live and worth my time.
You don't have to accept anything and I don't. I have had five years of the crap and I still ain't buying.
It is because he is such a bad actor that I don't buy it. If he has changed so much don't you think his MO would have changed too? I believe that when it is time this will end and then the musician who is capable of being more, the one we saw in 2005, will be back and a lot stronger that what he was.
If fans never liked her before hooking up with Keith, they continue not to like her to this day, and have stood their ground even though he married her, then why would fans go out and buy this music that is all inspired by her? I can't relate to Taylor Swift songs, and I certainly can't relate to the songs inspired by his wife because they are all bubble gum music. I do not own a Taylor Swift album. I think we can all be perfectly honest here and say the music he is kicking out now is nothing . . . absolutely nothing compared to the music before her. I heard WWWBM this morning on the radio - now there's a good song.
So if you are a fan of Keith's, but don't like his wife and what she stands for, why go out and spend your money on her songs? Why pay big bucks to continue to see him in concert when his best songs are in the past and have seen them multiple times already?
If you want to hit him where it hurts and maybe give him a wake-up call, don't go out and buy 12 CDs when his new album comes out. Don't support this poor excuse of what is called her music. If you continue to do so, he'll continue to release albums completely about his wife.
Which is a topic of another discussion . . . is there nothing else he can think of to write about in his life? You really have to wonder what is going on in his head, and isn't a good mix with an addictive personality. Where's his creativity?
To all:
Some very valid posts going on here. I agree that we can be a fan of Keith's and not a fan of hers. However the Keith Urban of yesterday is gone for now. In its place is a Stepford Keith. Something that Kidman wanted him to be for her so she can paint the perfect image of taming the bad boy of country. Problem is, this charade is not believable. I believe Keith has a trick or two up his sleeve and this game will end in a matter of time.
I don't think Keith is in love with her, he just loves what she represents and that is basically all he ever wanted out this relationship. Do I believe they could be friends? To a point. Keith is getting what he basically wants out of this marriage and that is his association with one of Hollywood's finest. I still say this is Kidman's FU to Cruise and Keith saying ha ha I married good.
But all things must end, and this train will derail. Do I think the Keith of 2005 will be back? Debatable at this point, he has changed immensely, brainwashed perhaps, but we can at least hope for a good breakup record. He won't be the one to leave, that is right, it is not his MO. He will have to do something totally devasting to Kidman to make her up and leave and with the fact that he tried all his usual tricks, it didn't work. He will have to try and beat her at her own game. Just remember he doesn't play well in her sand box and the rumored girlfriend has not prompted her to separate herself from him. So what is next?
His music of late is crap. But I also believe one must be inspired by something other than Cornstalks. I don't believe Keith is in love with this woman, but for some reason has convinced himself that this is love and what love and marriage is all about. Is he kidding himself, who knows, but he has yet to prove it to me by what he writes. If he wasn't in love prior to now, then he was a better actor back then, because he really wrote some killer songs. Now it is all fluffernutter garbage and if he is inspired by a 43 year old woman going on twelve, then so be it.
One thing I do have to say is that he is fantastic live and I had posted a while back indicating that even the most sickening songs of his are disguised live. And what do we have OIAL live version on the Deluxe package. Like I said, if we post, they will follow...
TL, no I don't think Keith's MO for him leaving the women in his life has changed or ever will. I also think you are waiting for something that may never happen. How much time in your life are you willing to give this topic?
BS all writers write songs that they are inspired by. Chris Martin writes songs inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow (lot's of people dislike her). Tim McGraw about Faith (I'm not a huge fan of hers). It's just the way it is. I happen to like going to see Keith. If I stop, Keith won't miss me or you for that matter. Others will take our places. I've been to enough shows to know that a lot of fans only know the words to the songs from the last two cd's. So they are new fans and every day he gets more new fans. It's not all about him anyway, it's about my friend and I having a good time. As long as we do, that's all that matters to us. There were several songs on LP&TWCT that I liked and only 2 on DG that I didn't like. I've never bought 12 cd's of anyone's cd's. The most I've ever bought was 2 one for me and one as a gift. I don't really care who inspires his music. I listen to all music with an open mind and base whether I like it on if I like it and not based on who it was written for. I guess I am lucky that way. I can put it out of my mind what he says about her, it's connection to the song and just enjoy the song. Keith doesn't even write most of the lyrics on the songs he co-writes with others, anyway. Which is most of his songs.
LM, even Lainey has said that she doesn't believe there is anyone on the side for Keith. I just got back from Nashville. Everywhere we went, without even mentionning Keith by name, we were told by regular everyday people how they see Keith and Kidman together all the time. We weren't in the touristy spots, so they weren't trying to drum up business. People started talking to us and why we were in town (like the luggage store in the mall). We said we were there for the hall show (just like that, without mentioning who was playing) people would respond with I see Keith and Nicole here or there all the time. Or after talking with someone for a while we would say do you ever see any country stars and it would always be KUNK that was mentioned. So for those that want to believe that Kidman doesn't spend anytime in Nashville (or with Keith) it's just not true. They are together. These people who spoke of them were retail people or your average Joe's. No reason for them to lie.
I agree that their relationship is different then any other relationship I have ever known personally or seen from others but it's working for them and has been for 5 yrs now. This could go on for 5, 10, or 20 more years. I think a lot of that is because neither of them has really matured past high school age, so that's how they act in a relationship. I don't know about a killer break-up album. I'm sure Kidman will see to it that Keith won't be able to talk/write/sing about anything in a negative way about her if/when this ends.
How many artists have come along and said, "this album is the sound of my marriage," or "this album was inspired by my wife"? A song here or there is normal. Not only one, but two complete albums all about his wife and marriage is not normal! Looking forward to see if he ever does a song about Sunday Rose.
There is this thing that happens in keithworld where you get people who are fairly articulate or accurate with information who post on a message board or on a blog like this one. Now what they say may not be agreeable to everyone but its interesting and it gets people talking well that just doesn't sit too well with others for whatever reason or agenda and so they smother the conversation by posting direct challenges or lengthy diatribes that have some information but mostly are there to quell the conversation because who wants to read that?
I don't believe the relationship between Kidman and Urban. I think his music since the Pain CD is subpar. I have recently seen him in concert and taken people who had never seen him who are now fans. People can differ in their opinions.
Like OMG FF, I work in the entertainment business and I am well aware of PR. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck. These were regular people in different places. Did I just happen upon all the people on her payroll? Or is all of Nashville on her payroll?? I'm starting to doubt that you are the fading fan that you say you are and more like a skeptic that's been around here for a long time just using a new screen name. The only girlfriend rumors have come from Tara, where they always come from.
TL I'll try to keep this short and sweet for you. I have no agenda. I'm actually a true skeptic. I don't follow the company line just because you say it's true anymore then I believe everything put out by the KUNK pr machine. I question both sides. If I had any agenda it would be finding out the truth. I don't give into the gossip nor do I start it.
BG I agree it's odd but like I said I think because of the early fame, I believe that his maturity level was stunted at the teenage level. I also think she's got him believing that she is all important. All he needs in his life. Everyone, including Sunday is secondary. Then again I just finished reading Rick Springfield's memoir. He didn't say it at the time of it's release (he's saying it now) but one of his more recent albums was all about an affair he had. The next cd was all about his wife. How her love for him has "saved him" (maybe it's an Austrailian thing). Since his wife didn't know about the affair until later he probably wouldn't have said what it was about if interviewed but he probably would have said the one about her was all about her had he been interviewed at the time. Another thing all through the book he calls his wife "his girl" or "my girl". She's almost 50 years old. So the "girl" thing may be an OZ thing as well.
No one knows what their relationship is unless you are in their bedroom. Again, I ask you, why would you NOT want him to be in love and happy with his wife?
Think about it, I am my husband's wife. I have watched this guy be as sweet and kind and melt like butter in my hands, but let someone mess with me and he turns into a lunatic, because he loves me. We don't always hold hands, we don't always walk together, we aren't always together by any stretch of the imagination, we do not think alike, (thank you God)we do not talk alike, we are polar opposites on a lot of things, but I love him.
Why don't you want him to love Yoko? I don't understand. She's his daughter's mother (whether she actually physically gave birth or not doesn't matter) she is his WIFE. If I received reports that the blogs were all ragging on NK and I was he, I would be hell bent on making sure I did everything in my power to stay married to her and keep her in the spotlight just to spite the bloggers.
You know where I stand on our Nic, but I do not understand at all why you do not want your lovesick poet lovesick for his WIFE.
It has to be more than the music sucks, because she didn't write it, and I doubt that she gets final approval of it especially since everything he pens is co-authored.
Enlighten me, please?
Thank you.
Great post HL. I think (and this is JMO), that the dislike for Kidman is so great and before her, the respect level for Keith was so high. So it's come down to a how can I (the fan/ex-fan) respect him if he cares/loves her yet she's this vile person. So he obviously must not love her. That's the only way to see your way clear and still have an interest in him (for some. I was there for a while). I now believe he does love her. Whatever that means to him. It's not the same love you have for your husband. It's not normal but then again what is normal to one isn't everyone's normal. It's his or their version of it. Most of the world doesn't live in the fish bowl they do. Or are they married to a fame monster, like he is. I was upclose in NYC when he sang "Thank You" to her. She stayed side stage long enough to have the camera see her do her fake crying thing. When he finished singing she had left. So when he looked to the side of the stage she was gone. The look of disappointment was all over his face. He was hurt by that. If he didn't care or love her. It wouldn't have matter whether she stayed or went.
I'm not saying this is the case (by any stretch of the imagination)but even people who are being held captive sometimes start to have feelings for the people holding them against their will. It's been 5 years now. Even if this started out as a business, things change over time. People who are in arranged marriages, who didn't meet until right before they got married eventually fall in love with each other. I know that Kidman is not the person any of us would have picked for Keith but it's who he's ended up with. There would be no other reason to bring her up and attach everything he does to her, to the detriment of his career. Unless he loved her. Fame doesn't really count if you have no career. It's a blind love, so he doesn't see how this is hurting his career and when he hears things about people not liking her, he does exactly like HL said, he does things just to piss off those detracters even more. Again JMO.
123xyz, its an interesting point of view but I don't agree with it. This began as a business arrangement and, if you know anything about the ten year Cruise/Kidman marriage, you would have a better idea of whats really going on between these two. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with "love".
And as I recall, Keith lost respect - not because of who he chose to be with - but because everyone knew WHY he wanted to be with her. He was thought to be sincere and genuine and many fans came to see him as a sell out for taking a short cut to fame and fortune. They didn't see that in him.
I also don't agree that being with NK has hurt his career. It has hurt his creativity and his music. But he has gained the fame and fortune he wanted. Hes getting exactly what he wanted out of this arrangement, which is why he stays and why his career is now devoted to promoting her and the marriage. But in my opinion, this is no more than a PR marriage and their private lives behind the cameras are very different from what the public sees. Which by the way, is very common with celebrity couples.
My opinions are based on what they put out in the media. There have been red flags throughout this union. Their PR is predictable and we see only what they want us to see. I do believe that their partners in this relationship (since rehab) which makes the whole fairytale more convincing to some. But to my mind, its nothing more than a business arrangement. And it seems so obvious to me.
I like what you have to say Fading Fan! I think its ok to disagree or debate, but its clearly wrong to be accusing or to attack you simply because someone disagrees with your opinions.
I guess I should have ended my last post with the "I await the onslaught of no that's not how it is for me", posts.
So it's Ok for Fading Fan to accosed me of not knowing anything about PR and not understanding Kidman's "supposed" control over Nashville. To talk down to me like I know nothing of this world called KUNK (even though I've been around it for the last 5 yrs and around the Urban world for almost 7) like I'm some sort of a rube but I can't say anything against that or I'll be seen as attacking. I only said what I did because #1 we've all seen that happen around here several times. People come in post things under other names to back up their own posts. They stay for a while and then they are gone. and #2 she certainly is very in the know of all things skeptical for some who just found this site and skeptism for KUNK. Her last post certainly is very attacking, when all I said was that I was starting to doubt. It's my own opinion but I get it you guys don't see attacking when it's coming from your side only when you think it's coming at you. Funny thing, for the most part we are on the same side of this.
Mikki you give skeptics way too much credit. Everyone doesn't know that this is a business. Most of Keith's fans don't know nor do they care. The average fan goes to his shows when he comes to their town and they buy his cd when it comes out. End of story for them until the next cd or next tour. They don't care nor do they know about all the other stuff. They think his marriage to Kidman is real. So Keith didn't lose any respect with those fans and they are the ones that make up most of his audience. The fans that go from show to show or have to know about everything Keith does are a very, very small group and the fans that call themselves skeptics are an even smaller group. Also I am very aware of the whole Cruise/kidman marriage. I read and hear the same stories you do.
123xyz, I base my opinions on facts and, as maclen has pointed out numerous times, Keith's album sales dropped by half after hooking up with NK. That means that a large portion of his fan base left him, not because of NK, but because he was not who they thought he was. Obviously the fans who have stuck with him are the "worshippers" who love all things Keith Urban. That goes without saying. Of course thats who makes up his audience. So I really don't see your point.
Nice comments Fading Fan and Mikki.
The Oprah link now says:
Calling ALL Keith Urban fans!
Thank you for your interest. We are no longer accepting submissions for this story. Take a look at other stories or ideas that we are working on.
Mikki if you went to shows you would know that's not true. Are guys worshipers too? Because there are an awful lot of guys going to the shows. If you ever talked to the average fans at Keith's shows you would find out that most don't have any idea of what's going on in the backstory and they don't care. They aren't worshipers. They are country music fans. This show they are seeing Keith, tomorrow night they will see someone else. That happens show after show. It's a very small handfull that go to multiple shows, that is a fact. I don't know how many dues paying members there are over at the Nut board these days. There was a time when they said how many there were. I remember 16,000 at one point, so let's say for math's sake that there are now 20,000. By your own words they should be considered the worshipers. Well, he plays shows to 10,000 up to 30,000 or more (I'm talking shows where it's just him and one openner not the big country shows). So where are those extra 10thousand people coming from? I saw him this summer he played to 20 thousand plus (with Kris Allen openning. Most people weren't even in their seats for Kris). Did the whole fan club show up?? The shows that he plays to 10,000 a night are half the club going one night and the other half going the next and they flip flop throughout the whole tour??? I wonder how they figure out who's supposed to go to what show? So much to coordinate. It just doesn't add up. Sorry. I know you all want to make it sound like Keith doesn't have any fans anymore and it's some small group of people going to see him night after night but it's just not true. Most of the fans I meet along the way have either never seen him before or they are the ones who see him every time he comes to their town and that's it. The worshipers are more vocal but they aren't large. The large majority of the people at his shows are country music fans. He may be one of their favorites but they like are different acts.
Music sales are down in general for almost every act. Yes, there are the exceptions to that but today a lot of people get there music for free either by illegal downloading or by one person buying a cd and then burning copies for their friends. So obviously they don't show up on music sold lists.
123xyz, obviously I'm not making myself clear. What I said was, that Keith lost a good portion of his fan base in 05'-06' due to his hook up with NK. And the evidence of that was the drop in CD sales with the Pain album. And just to clarify, music sales were not down in 06'.
And no, not all concert seats are filled by Keith fans. People seek out entertainment. I don't think I said that the only people going to his shows were his fans.
And I'll take issue with you for assuming that all of us want to make it sound like Keith doesn't have fans anymore. No one has ever said that. What we have said is that he has changed his image, his music is not the same and his CD sales are down by half each time he releases a new album. We have no way of knowing if he could still fill an arena on his name alone and sell out the same day because he hasn't done that since hooking up with NK. There is no way to guage his fan base other than CD and ticket sales. And based on that he does not have the fans he had in 04'-05'.
My personal opinion is that Keith has taken on much of NK's formula for success. She did not come out of the Cruise marriage with a large fan following. She has never concerned herself with fans. The same applies to her films. They didn't have to do well financially and she didn't have to be a box office draw to be successful. She used hype and exposure. The media was her biggest tool. But the reality is, her solo career didn't last long because the talent wasn't there. Which is why they were questioning why she continued to get work when all her films flopped. And why they were calling for her retirement back in 07'.
Keith is taking the same risks with the type of music hes putting out. That combined with the domestic image of the "perfect marriage" and the fact that he has reduced everything to HER will not be enough to create interest for long. Thats what the skeptics mean when they say shes detrimental to his career.
Yeah, fading fan...it's a given that an album titled "GET! Loser!...(get closer)...IS of course about mutt...and all songs are to, or for...or referencing her...orb HAS stated that! So by inference...so does the single.
Nk and KU have a business arrangement. It was NK that initiated it. The trouble started when NK wanted to change the small print and make it look like it was real.
When you coerce a person into being your employee it don't make for very good bed fellows. So there relationship is one of distain! NK dislikes KU for a very good reason, she couldn't buy his undying affection. The only thing she got and still gets is undying regurgitation. Haven't you ever recoiled when he opens his mouth and you know BBG is going to come out? It is ridiculous, it is the billboard that says,"This is not real." That's it!!
KU on the other hand just wants her to be invisible literally!!! Can't blame him they have nothing in common.(Except the contract) How can they, NK has a one tracked mind and that is about herself. Not one real thought for anyone else has ever nor will ever be there.
As far as helping each other's careers? Well that certainly didn't happen this is worse then watching the Titanic sink, at least that didn't take five long years!! ((giggles)))
The only thing I can see coming out of this is, NK turning on the faucet and big bucks going right down the drain. She will spend and spend to try to pump up KU's career, so she doesn't look like she is married to the biggest has been of country music. And the real laugh is? NO ONE CARES!! HW doesn't care about country Hill Billy Music!!!! ((giggles)))
Or did he say that just to see if she could sink the mutt?? ((giggles))) After all when you have so much money you can take chances, or can you?? ((giggles)))
This CD and single is going to lie right there on the shelves. And when they get so dusty you can't read the title, it will go into the dollar bin!! :)
There is a rumor that Oprah may not happen. Remember he did Ellen a few years ago and then was scheduled to do Tavis Smiley and he pulled out of the latter one because they said the filming for the Everybody video ran too long but a lot of people speculated that sitting in an interview for an hour was too stressful. Oprah will want to get to the quick and dirty with him . So keep the PR safe with CMT Insider , Leno and the Today show- he can sing and do a few sound bites.
