Keith Urban Set For Throat Surgery; 'All For The Hall' Benefit Concert Postponed
Keith Urban is set to undergo throat surgery later this month, to remove a polyp which has developed on his vocal chords. The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of recuperation that will require the postponement of the 'All For The Hall' benefit concert.
Although Urban has had to substantially scale back his appearances requiring multiple songs, he will be honoring his pre-existing one-song performance commitments leading up to his procedure at the end of this month. All other appearances will be rescheduled in the new year.

Yeah, no doubt this is a HUGE tragedy to the monkeys. But we are talking about an "out-patient and minor" procedure...which again will be blown out of proportion by the fansies. In fact the huge tragedy for them is he may be out of commission till at least next Jan of 2012! Well, lets wait and see if that does occur. For it is in my experience...observing the orb and his career...that orb says alot of things that does not match the reality. One of course is the "3 to no more than 4 days" away from his family on tour...to his having said he will have his "girls" out for some of his Canadian gigs...in fact they were out for NO days. So, we are 3 months...and maybe even longer than that...that it is implied that orb will be out of commission. Lets see what ACTUALLY transpires...which is my philosophy in regard to the orb. "It dont cost nothing"
Praying for him to have a complete speedy recovery with the best possible outcome. Hoping his voice will come back better than ever. God Bless, Keith.
So, in pollstar's top tours report...

Well Hatti...as of tonight, thursday the 3rd of November...orb NOW as a grand total of 12 commercial submissions! Now again, with ONLY 8 days to go and taking into account that there will be 1 grand prize winner and 9 runners up...12 is still pretty pathetic. Two orb fansies would be left out of contention. Imagine if you were one of those two? Now, IF there were, say, 50 submissions....100...it wouldnt sting so bad! 10 winners...and two losers? It's especially harsh when there will be MORE WINNERS than losers...it SHOULD be the other way around! But I am sure whatever the final number of submissions...this has been another dud for orb!
so here is my take on the rehab vs throat stuff
If this were the throat stuff- why couldn't he have still done All for the Hall? He doesn't have to talk he can simply play- its a benefit and I don't think his hands arms or fingers were out of commission- he played with Brook and Dunn at the 2006 CMA fest and didn't utter a peep.
If it is Throat that is a very trendy excuse- Adele and John (douchbag) Mayer are both out for a period of time on the same issue
so there would be no questions.
If this is rehab we will never know
there is no way in gods green earth Nicole Kidman will ever let him admit he stumbled. Yes, let us remind ourselves he is not cured
he will never be cured he is an addict. He lives everyday one at a time. And he has to save himself not have his wife save him.
Was Teddy C trying to tell us something in a Marky St Mark post about his anger flare up that he hopes he doesn't go back to using.
He does have throat issues.
But he has used those issues to cover up for others things most notably a PR trip to promote the romance in November 2005 where he left his tour so that Kidman could be "seen" in Nashville eating greens and going to ice cream parlors. It pissed a lot of fans off. But it was so much more important to be in that competition with Tommy and the robot girlfriend than worry about his career.
Does this cancel The voice?
Will this end his singing career
I will give two words that could very well scare the crap out of all of you
Julie Andrews.
So there will be some ways to see which it is and don't think some won't be watching.
However whatever it is I do like Keith Urban and wish him well
Well Tara...I'm going to give you my honest opinion. I have to say with this one I'm not in the know. But I believe this is killing two birds with one stone!!
First...he is going to take away all of Moosies girl's PR..Red Carpet...and any other thing he was doing that she could show up for!! He did not appreciate her dropping in on his little dinner with HIS genre big wigs!!
Second he does not feel very charitable to the Opry right now and since the people that vote to give an invite are the same people he would be working to collect money to exhibit THEIR memorabilia he found this to be the most opportune time to take care of whatever is sticking in his craw!!! ((giggle)))
maclen..And as I was saying about opportune time...well if you are gathering sympathy I guess a little could go towards the contest which may just make it look a heck of a lot better than it does at this specific time.
Now I don't know that to be the case but I wouldn't put it past him!! ;)
"I will give two words that could very well scare the crap out of all of you
Julie Andrews."
Granted, the VonTrapp children were a bit much, but I kind of like some of that musical.
Has something happened to Julie Andrews?
Oh dear, has Julie Andrews had an affair with Nicole?
I knew nothing good would come from that "Nine" set! No wonder his polyp is popping.
Older women, huh, you'd think Julie would have better taste.
Oh well. . .
nope Julie Andrews had the same kind of procedure that Keith did and now she can't sing.
Also saw some clips from the Robin Roberts interview
there is no way they would ever say he slipped- because his life is beautiful he can't find the words and his partner is beyond compare
heard all of this before still ain't buying it
Yes KU was warned that his voice may not be ok. And it wasn't the same after his operation. Now if this is true it doesn't mean it is going to make it any worse than it is. It's an out patient procedure so I don't believe it will be as severe as the last one.
Now Julie Andrews was use to having a beautiful voice that she could do anything with. She now has a voice she personally can't stand to hear b/c it's not as good as it was. That doesn't mean she can't sing...it means she doesn't want to sing any longer!!!
Now that is what she said in an interview. Who can blame her she had such a wonderful voice.
Yes Hatti, orb Doesnt do ANYTHING without there being an opportunity to shill for something...whether it's the usual cd and tour promo...or throwing himself benefits and now clearly a "nominees" dinner prior to the CMA!
Well, actually Hoosier and Tara...my first reaction when I heard of orb's "throat problems" I immediately thought of the Napalm...who is also recently "recovering" from throat surgery. Either orb was unfortunate to either been drinking or smoking the same thing as the Napalm or he is simply just too unoriginal to come up with his own excuse! Have you seen the latest pics of napalm?!
maclen...I'm sorry but who is napalm?
Hatti said...
maclen...I'm sorry but who is napalm?
Napalm is what I refer to John Mayer. You know his "sexual napalm" reference in regard to Jessica Simpson...along with his other misogynistic/racist quotes? So I now refer to mayer as "napalm"...which is what he has been to orb...who basically embraced "Napalm" and became his "BFF" RIGHT after those comments! Mayer also recently underwent "throat surgery"...so it was pecular that the bobbsey twins are now both going throught it! Of course mayer was a VERY overexposed douche the few years before...and since the quotes he's basically disappeared off the scene. And as this photo shows his most recent look...
http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/wennpic/john-mayer-2011-tiger-jam-01.jpg
...mayer CERTAINLY looks like he's making regular trips under a bridge to get his fix from his pusher!
I swear once, albeit a while ago orb made reference to the fact that he wished he only had to work when he wanted to. If I could bold the word wanted would be.
So, IMO this is the musician's SSI/disability.
It may be factual, it may not be, but either way it is pretty convenient if that is what he wants, no?
Who could blame the guy? He could spend his days producing or (cough) writing, (I just made myself rofl) and suck her dry.
Sounds like a plan to me, Bill.
Well I do know he has had trouble with his throat too. I never thought much of his voice but he does play a great guitar.
I think artists outside of (HW) gets mixed up with that breed and their head turns upside down.
Sometimes to be left alone you have to become a public miry!!
Clearly hoosier, orb doesnt say things the way they ARE...but what he believes would be the most advantageous and the most "agreeable" to his potential customers. Like when McDonalds or Burger King make commercials for their latest burgers...they dont ACTUALLY plop down an actual burger off the assembly line...they have an artist sculpt or pour a mold of the most perfect burger. It's ALL illusion. It is just in my nature to question EVERYTHING...and point out the inconsistencies. Just as you clearly noted an inconsistency! Again, I'm not claiming orb ISN'T having a polyp removed...I'm just saying there COULD be an actual OTHER reason for this announcement. And if there IS something in the near future that may contradict his explaination...then it's worth bringing up. His mouthpiece just released a statement that orb is canceling all scheduled performances EXCEPT "single performance" gigs...like the CMAs...although it looked just a week prior that it was reported that he would appear on the show, doing a "tribute" with Gil and Paisley for Glen Campbell...and then it was reported he may perform with scott McCreery on the show...and that is also presuming he was doing his own solo performance. So, again...it's worth noting what ACTUALLY happens at the CMAs. It's that simple!
Well, Hatti the one thing I never give orb credit for...and that's originality. And in the case of napalm...WHO's to say he actually had throat surgery? He may have actually checked into rehab. Unless there are media source actually keeping a close eye on him... and as I noted...he's been pretty much OUT of the spotlight basically since last year and he clearly has been singed by his missteps..it's not absolutely out of the question. It almost seems that lately..."throat surgery" has become the new "exhausted" in the music biz!
So, after having just read an article on the brief friendship and letter exchanging between TS Eliot and Groucho Marx in the mid 60's...and having been made aware of a quote from Shakespeare's "King Lear...I found it VERY relevent to my previous comments tonight. In regard to the orb...the qoute...
"Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say."
...and then...fittingly...another quote from Groucho in Horse Feathers... that definately is in regard to ME...regarding the orb...
"Whatever it is, I'm against it."
So, what if orb DOES actually go under the knife and does...as did Jullie Andrews...suffer vocal chord damage and he loses his singing voice? How will orb at this point...be stacked against the other so called Country performing "elite?" Since I value the unbiased and indisputable gauge of cd sales...because clearly, a "salesperson" is ranked by how well they can "sell"...let's look at the numbers...via wiki...
Cd sales:
1. Chesney- 12 albums-19 years- 19 mil US cds sold.
2. Flatts- 7 albums- 11 years-18mil Us cds.
3. Swift - 3 albums-5 years- 14.7mil US cds.
4. Underwood-3 albums- 6 years- 12mil US cds
5. orb- 8 albums-20 years-11.6mil cds
6. Paisley-8 albums-12 years- 8mil cds
7. Aldean- 4 albums-6 years- 5.5mil cds
8. Lady ant- 3 albums-3 years-5mil cds
Single sales:
1. Swift- 17 singles- 2 gold, 11 platinum- 20mil singles sold
2. Underwood- 15 singles-6 gold, 7 platinum-11.5mil singles
3. tie Paisley- 28 singles-10 gold, 4 platinum- 9mil singles
3. tie Lady ant- 9 singles- 2 gold, 4 platinum- 9mil singles
4. Chesney-44 singles-16 gold, 2 platinum-8.5mil singles
5. Aldean- 13 singles-4 gold, 4 platinum-8mil singles
6. orb- 32 singles- 9 gold, 0 platinum-4.5mil singles
7. Flatts- 27 singles-3 gold, 3 platinum-4.5mil singles
...so, the cd sales list, the number that jumps out is orb's years of recording at 20 years. Sure, he released a cd in 1991 in OZ...but it was for EMI/Capitol...which is WHY it was no doubt included in the listings. And I DO find it pertinent that he was NOT to release another cd for 6 more years...and that was in a group, "The Ranch" to insignificant sales. Not exactly striking lightning here is the orb! Now the other number that jumps out at you in the singles sales list is that orb is the ONLY performer WITHOUT a platinum selling single. Again, another sign of orb's popularity weakness. And at this juncture in orb's career...in which I gather orb seriously WANTS to get another cd out there in the marketplace with the lackluster sales of his last one...a delay with a "throat problem" is not what he would want. But it would be a very opportune time to...as I've speculated earlier this year...a good time to release that "live album"...which truly in sales "potentiality" would not be the most profitable. But on the other hand, could orb, if the reports of his already working and recording his next cd are true...could he simply switch gears and get a "live cd" ready? It's not like orb is in the similar position as swift...who can apparently throw out a "live tour dvd" package announcement in Sept...for a release in Nov...of a tour she is STILL on? The difference of course between swift and orb...is she is making money like a "umbrella salesperson in a rain storm" with her 3.7mil and STILL selling cd and a massive year long tour averaging $1.3mil gross per show...and with backup from a recording label...and orb does not. So, as usual...we shall see.
maclen I believe KU is wise enough to know at this time he has nothing on his plate.
His voice has been going for a long time now. I think this is make it or break it time!!
It could be the crack of doom or dancing days ahead!! Only time will tell.
Or, we could quasi quote Dr. Suess,
"They don't like him in a box,
They don't like him with a fox"
perhaps the polyp is the swan song.
Hopefully (God help us) it will be before he makes it through McCartney's entire catalog.

Well in my years of observation Hatti...whether or not he loses his voice...his trajectory is clear. As I've mentioned before...at some point his insolvency will be at such a point it will not be profitable enough for him to release another album. At such time he will no doubt endeavor to get another recording deal with another label. Of course if he waits too long and his sales continue to slip with his next cd...he will not be able to get a very good deal! He will of course rely on live touring to keep the revenue coming in. And as was just shown in his just ended tour...it was not as profitable as his previous. Now, today...the MOST profitable tours of course are the tried and very proven "classic" rock acts that bring in the biggest revenues...U2, Floyd, bon jovi...mccartney etc. Despite orb's rather uber postive reviewed "energetic" tour...it in fact HAS proven that it could NOT attract more ticket buyers than a few years ago. So I see orb going EVEN more retro into that "classic rock" vibe I noticed on his tour this summer. And of course that not taking into account that it could all come crashing down if in fact he does go under the knife...and loses his voice.

Well, to continue my point in my last comment, hoosier...orb MAY just go through a few "catalogs" if things continue the way they have been the past few years. This possible throat problem could really end an especially terrible past two years for the orb when you consider it. Early last year he lost his recording contract with capnash...and what I can only presume is capnash released orb by decreeing he write record and release the last album in their previous deal... in only 11 month time which clearly resulted in a subpar and weak selling cd. I would also presume that they DID not finance the album...and obviously let orb keep the rights to it...and only distributed the cd... sure looks shrewd in hindsight. Then, having rushed released the cd in nov 2010...had to then wait 6 months later to start his tour, no doubt to scrounge up a sponsor ...which clearly resulted in bpoth weak cd sales...AND also resulted in WEAKER ticket sales. Now he has the possible throat problem. As the saying goes..."When it rains...it pours!" At which point, orb will no doubt buy that umbrella from swifty...and EVENTUALLY sign on to open for her!
So, tommorrow the CMAs will air. All the PR is being spilled out. Orb got in his little extra pander play on the CMA committee. So how are the CMA's shaping up?
Well, from what I see on online opinions...swifty and aldean are the odds on favorites to take the "Entertainer" prize. Here's just one...with of course a few choice quotes...
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/arts-and-life/entertainment/music/analysis-breaking-down-entertainer-of-the-year-the-cma-awards-most-coveted-trophy-133425368.html
Analysis: Breaking down entertainer of the year, the CMA Awards' most-coveted trophy
"Martina McBride thinks it should go to the artist who makes the strongest connection with fans."
...but again, HOW is that to be determined? By what method do you decide that?
"Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney put an emphasis on rear ends — the ones in the seats at their concerts."
Well, but what about the cd sales. They may be doing well on stage...but what about in music stores?
"Brad Paisley, the reigning entertainer of the year, thinks it's about giving fans the most for their money."
...well, there's money spent on live shows, there's money spent on cds...t-shirts...mugs...fan site membership fees etc.
"We'll break it down by category for fans below and take a shot at predicting a winner."
TOURING
"The Skinny: Chesney is the undisputed king of the road in country, but Swift is second and the easy choice in this category. She earned $29.5 million in the first half of 2011 alone, nearly three times the gross of her nearest competitors not named Chesney during that period, according to Pollstar."
"KING: When Swift says she's going on a world tour, it's not just a swing through Canada. She sold out shows in 17 countries, including multiple stops in Asia and throughout Europe."
"TALBOTT: It's all about tickets sales and there's no question Swift is the champ among these nominees. She can fill stadiums, she can wow the Far East and her two-day stand in Nashville was a star-studded tour de force. Paisley's H2O Tour proved to be influential, however."
"RECORD SALES
The Skinny: Swift is over the 20 million mark in total album sales and "Speak Now" has moved beyond 3.5 million in sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. So there's little discussion here. But Aldean is selling records like no other male in country music right now, which is very important to the genre. His "My Kinda Party" has sold nearly 1.5 million copies so far."
...but of course, an "overall" view of the nominees is not certainly what the fans think...as perhaps the voters may also not think. All I would say is that orb lags in MOST of the tangible considerations...and in the punditry opinion as well.
...post "scritten"
...so, here's another pondering...which pretty much says it all...
http://www.roughstock.com/blog/2011-cma-award-predictions-45th-annual-cma-awards
2011 CMA Award Predictions: 45th Annual CMA Awards
"It’s that time again, time to break out the crystal ball and predict what will happen on Wednesday November 9, at the 2011 CMA Awards! Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley all are tied with five nominations apiece for their contributions to mainstream country music in 2011."
Entertainer of the Year
Jason Aldean
Brad Paisley
Blake Shelton
Taylor Swift
Keith Urban
This is the biggest prize of the night, the grand-daddy of ‘em all as this award is typically given to the artist which best represented country music in 2011 from a national stand point and NOT just as an entertaining concert draw. Paisley won it for the first time last year while Swift won in 2009 and Urban won in 2005. This is the first time for both Aldean and Shelton to get nominated here, and I have a feeling that if Jason Aldean were to win any award this year outside of event and album, it’s going to be for Entertainer of the Year. He’s likely going toe to toe with Blake Shelton and Taylor and all three represent the biggest representatives for country music this year. With all of that being said, I would love to see the deserving traditional-minded Paisley take home the award.
Will Win: Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton or Taylor Swift
Should Win: Brad Paisley
Male Vocalist of the Year
Jason Aldean
Kenny Chesney
Brad Paisley
Blake Shelton
Keith Urban
2011 has has surpassed his massively successful 2010 year with a nearly Gold selling Greatest Hits album, a soon to be Gold Red River Blue album and 3 #1 singles “Who Are You When I’m Mot Looking,” the CMA nominated “Honey Bee” and most recently, “God Gave ME You.” All of this points to the 2010 Male Vocalist of the Year winner taking home this trophy yet again. He’s a fantastic vocalist, as are past winners Urban and Paisley and while they had great years too (Gold records, multiple #1 hits), I think Blake Shelton’s done enough to retain the #1. Kenny Chesney’s like Garth Brooks in that he’s been nominated multiple times but is seen by the CMA as more of an entertainer. Aldean seems to be a similar type of artist too. It’s possible that Aldean somehow sneaks out a win here or that the CMA finally honors Chesney but I really don’t see how Blake Shelton doesn’t keep the award (have I said that enough yet?
Will Win: Blake Shelton
Should Win: Kenny Chesney or Blake Shelton
...poor orb...not even a mention in the "might" win pontifications!
In the cd sales stock numbers rundown...
http://www.roughstock.com/blog/chart-news-for-november-7-2011-four-the-record-miranda-lambert-s-1
...so updating the sales of Lady ant's ONE month old release as compared to the orb's now ONE YEAR old release...
Lady Anthebellum Own The Night 30,000 748,000
...now there's a VERY interesting comment from the writer of this post...
"Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night has now sold nearly ¾ a million records but it’s certainly a lower number than most expected after a month on the charts."
...so WHO exactly expected a higher number? So if Lady ant's 748k sales in only ONE MONTH is considered LOW...what does orb's sales of only about 654k in 12 MONTHS considered! That's 94,000 more cds sold so far...and will no doubt continue to climb. In other significant sales...orb's Canadian opening act, the Band Perry have now sold 823k... 169,000 MORE cds than orb in basically the same time period. Newcomer Scooty Mccreery, who covered a VERY old orb song...Has now sold 425k in about a month. The question now being...how long till mccreery passes orb in cd sales?
So, I guess orb's little CMA nominee banquet dinner...with only about 15 nominees attending... DID NOT help orb out at the awards show! Once again orb came out with zip at the CMAs. Pretty much the same result despite his little "BENEFIT FOR ORB" pander play the past 2 years. Well, but that was for the HAll of Fame...so I quess this year he thought if he tried to at least grease the CMA committee with the "nominee" honorary dinner scheme...he may get some love. I guess the orb still does not want to take the advice coming out of this little blog regarding awards shows...leave the "bad luck" charm at home!
So, as I recall what swifty said in her "Entertainer" acceptance speech...orb performed TWICE on the CMAs...after his hack's statement to the press that he would be "honoring his "ONE PERFORMANCE" appearances. Now a fansie excuse is possibly...well it was one song and ONLY a chorus or two of another song. Which of course technically would make it surely...a "one and a half song" performance...which by the way...IS still MORE than one song. Now to the issue of the Opry appearances...and the cancellations...because...another fansie explaination could be that, "Who knows, maybe he will have "throat surgery" on the 12th. But I point out...orb's own facebook page explains it will be done, "at the end of the month." So WHY cancel the Opry show on the 12th? Which brings me back to swifty...in her acceptance speech she thanked all the performers who appeared with her...as she says...she just called them up and they appeared. Why couldnt orb...who also began to have "special guests" at the tail end of his tour...after swifty started getting huge press over her "special guests"...just call up a few friends to help him out? Or was also mentioned by someone over at E!...have his band help out with the vocals on 2 or 3 of the songs just as they did on tour? Clearly orb would prefer to cancel at the opry...than let OTHERS get some of his opry "limelight!" Or as I maintain...he didnt get an Opry membership invite the first time he played this year...he just took his ball and went home!
Yes maclen...He took his ball and went home. I think he may as well. He doesn't sound good at all. Why push it. So he sang two songs last night and he has I believe one more song and then he has weeks of voice rest.
I don't get the GC salute?? I'm sorry but the guy had a wonderful career and threw it away on drugs!! Massive amounts of drugs.
Nash came to his aide a few years ago and he took that money and went back to using drugs!! I hope his AH helps him to forget his addictions and someone else is handling what little bit of money he will have.
If that were KU? Well they would just have done what they did...label him. Yes there are double standards in all walks of life.
I'm not defending drug users believe me it is the scurge upon our Nation that is for sure!! Just to make myself perfectly clear!! ((giggles)))

...so orb is still hanging on...$7000 more than last week...59¢ more in tix salws and 28 more in attendance. So, from orb's first appearance on the Pollstar list...about 2 and a half months ago...orb was able to raise his per show avg gross by $67,138 and his audience by 1,013 in avg attendance. And ultimately...orb will STILL underperform from his last tour in 2009.
Ok maclen...enough fooling around now. Today is the deadline for the video contest. Now how did it stack up?
What are the pecentages?
Fans that came out to see him or all the fans from MV?
I got a feeling he didn't get more than twenty five but that is just a guess.
Oh yeah, Hatti I almost forgot! Your close...the total so far is 27. That's in over 5 weeks! And you know that's low because orb has the LEAST youtube channel views of the country performers. And then when you take into account that the highest viewed commercial entry is only at 2,085...not exaclty "viral"...or worth all that effort!
You got that right maclen.
Well at least he has enough videos to make it a little competitive.
I hear the cologne is in the drug stores selling at a reasonable price. So lets see what the sales look like down the road.
Well Hatti...I dont believe orb is popular enough to make this product viable for very long. It was released for the end of year holiday season...just like his cd...and I suspect that it will initially be snatched up by his loyal devotees...and then it will languish to where you will ultimately find them next year in discount outlets for $2.99. That was the pattern of sales for his cd...released in Nov 2010, it intitially sold 500k by Jan 2011 two months later. But since then...the past 10 months... the orb's cd has only sold 150k. Recall what happened to the orb's "Hank and Evie" clothing line? Last I heard, that "brand name" was up for sale!
Oh, fear not... there is some more time for submissions....
A tweet from "Keith Urban" -
@KeithUrban We know you've all be working hard on your Phoenix commercials so we've decided to give you a couple extra days to get them in!

Ha! Yes...thanks for that info, Urban Myths! As I maintain...clearly a result of the embarrassingly low amount of submissions! No doubt a "couple of extra days" for pathetic "orb co." to slip in a couple more to pad out the number!
(((giggles))))
So, what is truly clear right now...is a NON touring...lackluster selling cd...awards show attending orb gets NOT much news coverage. And as a result of being blown out of any actual wins at the CMAs...a news search of orb the day after gave you, of course...story after story...that swifty won "entertainter" at the show and that orb's opening act in Canada was the big winner! NOT much lingering press for the losers. But that is the result of a fizzling career...your cd has very weak sales..your tour is over in only 4 months time and it is apparent your ticket "demand" is also very weak and now orb has NOT been mentioned in the past 2 Billboard Hot Tours reports......your appearances at country awards show simply results in wardrobe "photo ops" for the wife. And now, your looking at...supposedly...throat surgery at the end of the month. Not that I expect to see much news of it...unless orb does fly off to Oz...because there are rumors he may be on an OZ version of the tv show, The Voice...and wanted to get all his "early 2012" commitments whipped clean. And so, basically I dont see much in any ACTUAL news of orb...except recycled and planted PR feeds...till at least next year. There will be the Pollstar End of Year concert grosses report at the end of this year that will simply confirm to me that orb is NOW faltering in ALL areas of his career...cd sales...tour grosses and attendance and in awards recognition. So, basically I can see a HUGE reason orb WOULD want to flee to Oz and try to get something going over there. But again...we shall just have to wait and see....
I think last week was probably very hard for him. With a blank slate ahead of him he knew this would be his last time at the awards shows etc. I think he wanted the awards- he wasn't going to get them. I think its probably a really scary time for him. With the record company in shambles and touring dried up and the entire question of his voice and other issues about him it is very much a transition for his future.
Now before you think I have grown pointed ears and a fluffy tail - that interview was one of the worst things I have ever seen. He came off as a simpleton- and he isn't. But he sat there and answered those questions and he keeps on appearing to be mr happy husband- except of course if you watched the awards show and saw how apart they really are.
I think its going to be a time to sit back and watch what will happen.
Well Tara...First...KU is a planner. I'm sure he will put into place things that will keep him busy after his throat issue is taken care of.
Maybe he has decided to be more into the business of music than the entertainer. But the guy has more money than most so he will be just fine.
As far as that interview. Much of what KU said in the trailors was sliced and diced to make room for the pics of Hagmaw's ugly mug.
She especially had the Anderson Novel cut out. Now that made me sad since it would have made Hagmaw's reason for not seeing her older children moot!!
But again Tara dear he who laughs last laughs best. Every dog has his day!! ((giggles)))
So why didn't The Turtle (Mr. Chesney) ask Keith to be the co headliner on the summer tour instead of Mr. Mcgraw?
Because someone who is married has a spouse who doesn't like Mr. Chesney because he wouldn't march to her drummer way way back in 2005.
And Tim looks better in shorts.
It's pretty clear that orb and chesney are on the outs. It's very clear in chesney's absence from both "BENEFITS FOR ORB." No doubt chesney already knew of orb what the performers who appeared in the 2009 BENEFIT FOR ORB and would subsequently learn...and then NOT reappear in the next BENEFIT FOR ORB..that orb is simply a crass self promoting and calculating hack. It CANNOT be good news for the declining grosses of orb's to NOT be on friendly terms with the top touring performer! But as I've mentioned before regarding orb's declining career....when it rains...it pours.
Well Tara... KC did march to Moosie's drummer (RZ)!
The thing is after he danced to RZ's tune KU has not been friends since. Lets just say in front of the camera he tolerates KC.
But lets also say that since KC is gay he doesn't have many male friends in Nash. No one wants to be labeled. (good ole boys) I guess Tim don't care. HE has been friends with KC for years!! ((giggles))))
The turtle has friends. I think there was a distance thing and I feel it was placed there by The missus because of the rumors about the "drunken Monkey tour"
RZ and Kidman are not were not were ever friends- what happened was that when that whole Turtle and RZ PR thing blew up it was right in the middle of the Kidman PR thing so distance Kidman and Keith from the stink that was that mess so that the glare didn't land on them and the same questions of "fraud" weren't asked.
I do believe Keith and Kenny are still friends.
Did anyone else read his pansy ass explanation of why he is having throat surgery? "Because the technology is so much better"
spare me-
it would not be unheard of him to have a temper tantrum at the Opry since they didn't invite him
and he talked last year of wanting to see africa
and he was pretty blase about The Voice- if it happens we will be down there together- I thought Kidman hated living there?
Again the same glory road paved with Caca -
it would be nice if the truth came out
Well Tara don't believe everything you read. RZ did Moosie a favor for some very good reasons. And KC needing a beard was ok with it. Until Moosie got what she wanted then RZ dropped the fraud bomb on KC to make sure he will never say what happened. Now that's the truth.
So, let's take a look at that "special situation" regarding this weeks cd sales...
http://www.roughstock.com/blog/chart-news-november-16-2011-cma-awards-help-aldean-shelton-more
Chart News for November 16, 2011 - CMA Awards Help Aldean, Shelton & More
"Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night gained 12% thanks to the band’s performance and win for Top Vocal Group at the CMA Awards telecast a week ago. The trio also was awarded a platinum certification for the album for shipments to retail of over 1,000,000 copies. Speaking of platinum, the CMA’s album of the year, Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party has officially scanned over 2 million sold."
"With three awards last Wednesday, The Band Perry took home the most trophies at the CMA Awards. The 3x platinum selling single “If I Die Young” won both the Single and Song of the Year awards while the Republic Nashville artists won the Best New Artist award as well. Their album saw a 112% sales increase over the previous week."
"Eric’s (Church) Chief jumped back into the Top 10 with a 67% sales increase."
"Taylor Swift’s latest album Speak Now has moved nearly 3.75 million copies since being released a year ago and her performance of “Ours” on the CMA Awards show helped her move another 12,000 copies of the record. She’s followed by the Award program’s co-host Brad Paisley. His This Is Country Music gained a 57% sales increase over the previous week to give him 535,000 albums sold so far."
"Kenny Chesney’s Hemingway’s Whiskey didn’t score any awards except for the Video of the Year for “You And Tequila” with Grace Potter, but the performance of their hit single certainly helped move the sales needle a bit as he scored a 54% sales increase over last week. He’s now sold nearly a million copies of the album. Rascal Flatts scanned past the 1 million sold mark with Nothing Like This,
"Sara Evans may not have gotten any awards for her return to prominence but she did score a 52% sales increase for her 308,000 copies-sold Stronger album. Thompson Square’s self-titled album gained a hearty 96% sales increase thanks to the CMA Awards show performance of #1 hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not”
...it seems the a few performers see an increase in cd sales from either just appearing...(Paisley Thompson square)... and winning...(Lady ant, Band Perry, swift, chesney, Flatts)...but apparently the orb DOES NOT seeing how he is UNSURPRISINGLY absent once again from this report. Orb of course notoriously performed TWICE on the show...despite his mouthpiece relaying info to the contrary! And to anyone believing that this is a "recent" conditon...that is wrong. Earlier this year...orb's appearance at the Superbowl...his appearance on Ellen DID NOT translate to any substantial sales increases. Orb is OVER. It's no wonder orb MAY be looking to hightail it over to OZ for a tv show...more on that later...
So, more news on orb possibly hightailing it to OZ next year for a tv show...
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/music/keith-urban-talks-about-throat-surgery-the-nine-networks-the-voice-and-his-own-cologne/story-e6frexl9-1226197258219
Keith Urban talks about throat surgery, the Nine Network's The Voice and his own cologne
"His Australian fans are counting the days until it is confirmed Urban will be a judge on Nine's talent show The Voice in early 2012.
"The singing superstar said he had been drawn to the American series earlier this year because it wasn't "consumed with the way people look but how they sound".
"I hope it comes together - it would be good for all of us," he said."
This of course to me...would be a direct result of his declining cd sales and tour grosses. He can no longer hack in the US...so he wants to build a new following...ie. new customers... in Oz. It's an often quoted catchphrase Ive used many times in the past...orb is willing to be a "big fish in a little pond" (OZ)...than CONTINUE to be a "little fish in a big pond!" (US) And of course the possible implications of his upcoming "throat surgery" later this month. If he gets the OZ tv show gig...then he's probably off to oz...if not he'll remain here...we shall see...
Hatti I do believe the part about the bearding but I still don't believe that whole RZ and wifey were friends thing- its been rumored that it was squinty that fed the press stories about wifey and Jude Law
Keith couldn't make it over there when he was younger one of the reasons he came to Nashville
but now he is married to "our Nic" and a grammy winner so is it going back to help his career or the big middle finger to the homeland with the look at me now I will come over and spend my precious time here.
There is always a degree of arrogance with Keith Urban. That interview came off very high and mighty.
Tara said...
"Did anyone else read his pansy ass explanation of why he is having throat surgery? "Because the technology is so much better"
Ha! Yes... ELECTIVE throat surgery? Again, I'll repeat...I didnt hear much difference between orb's voice in mid September on the last gig of his tour...or on the CMA's. It certainly gives his "surgery" an entirely whole new light to consider that it is NOT NECESSARY..but again...elective. It certainly WOULD be a reasonable excuse to cancel the 2nd and 3rd appearance at the Opry...after NOT getting an invite on the first. It would also be a reasonable excuse to cancel the already announced 3rd BENEFIT FOR ORB...and also taken into account the recent new news of a possible new gig on the OZ tv show "early next year." And again, the optimum word here is ELECTIVE...NOT necessary.
...post screened...
...also perhaps to be taken into account on all these very LATEST developements...and that is the sale of EMI to Sony and Universal. Perhaps orb got early word of the sale and the most likely effect on EMI...and the possible "restructuring" of the label in Nashville...
http://www.tennessean.com/article/20111112/BUSINESS/311120026/EMI-sale-rattle-Music-Row-?odyssey=nav%7Chead
"In a separate $2.2 billion deal Sony/ATV Publishing — a joint venture between Sony Corp. and the Michael Jackson estate — is leading a consortium to buy EMI’s publishing divisions. Those holdings include Nashville-based EMI Music Publishing, which controls a vast and valuable catalog of 1.3 million songs by artists such as Rihanna, Adele, Urban and Alan Jackson.
Like EMI, Universal and Sony already have staff, infrastructure and office space in Nashville, raising the possibility that Friday’s deal will lead to further consolidation and job loss in Nashville, where EMI employs between 150 and 200 people."
No doubt orb WOULD be concerned with "new management" over at EMI and Capnash... considering he lost his recording contract there. Perhaps orb sees the writing on the wall on his future with both EMI and Capnash. It could explain the complete change of course in his already announced schedule for late this year and early next year...and possible "preemptive" escape to Oz.
Maclen- nail + head
You better believe the froth that is pouring out of his mouth in the last 48 hours is an attempt to make sure
that Cap Nash/EMI/Red Rose are still in business because Daddy only has a slight boo boo and will be back before too long.
He does a diservice to his fans to talk so arrogantly about this entire thing. It may be a sincere attempt to reassure all fronts he is fine but the dismissive comments that its not a big deal are just the wrong message. Cut it out most of us aren't stupid.
Well..it is kind of funny KU would say anything about tech. He had throat surgery in 04. So I don't get why he would say it like this is his first time. It's not!!
KU was successful the early days in Oz. He could have continued there but he wanted to come to the US.
Moosie has been no help to him here or in Oz. She is not well liked in Oz at all. Especially since she cost those people money!! You don't take money from an Aussie unless you are ready to pay it back!!!
I don't know anything about the manuevers with Capnash. But I will tell you this..it was KU that kept them out of bankruptcy. I think again this is a shift but not a true separation.
It does seem reasonably possible to me Tara...when you place all the events and possible routes that have been announced and reported on since Oct with that first report that orb was signing onto the Oz version of the Voice...that it could surely lead to orb being in OZ early next year. Not that ANYTHING was absolutely set since Oct...it could no doubt be a "fluid" trail of options for orb. For instance...the BENEFIT FOR ORB was announced on Oct 11th to be take place in mid Jan. Then only 3 days later, that first report of orb signing onto the Voice in OZ came out on Oct 14th...in which it was also reported would begin production in "early 2012." ORb surely could have known of the surely pending sale of EMI...and having what I see as an already minimal relationship left with Capnash...things could have moved and been "rearranged" rather quickly. Orb then announced his pending "surgery" on Nov 3rd...with the instant cancelation of the BENEFIT FOR ORB having been set for Jan18th...and then the announcement of the EMI sale came out on Nov 12. Now with the implication from orb that the "surgury" was simply based on the current "technology"...I simply see it as just TOO convienient when you take note that it's been reported that production for The Voice in Oz begins production in "early Jan." Of course, all this speculation will be soon answered by the actual events.
...post screeched to a stop...
Just wanted to correct an obvious error. When I commented...
"...I simply see it as just TOO convienient when you take note that it's been reported that production for The Voice in Oz begins production in "early Jan."
...of course the article DID NOT say "early Jan"...but "early next year." Exactly when is yet to be revealed.
Almost forgot the Pollstar numbers...

...so orb hangs in on the listing...apparently Pollstar weekly grosses are a month behind the actual tour end. Good to recall for future reference! So, orb falls slightly below the $500k and 9,000 average. It is becoming mundane in it's consistancy. So, how does orb's throat procedure or possible new job in Oz effect his "county fairs and festival" touring for next year? Not that it makes a huge difference in the grosses. In 2010 orb was not even on the top 100 grossing tours at pollstar.

Look whatever you may say I'm sure he's nervous about any surgery especially one that could affect his future vocal musical career. Of course he will still write & play no matter what but singing is a very special part of who he is. I for one am wishing him the absolute best & hoping the surgery is 100% successful. I wish him a speedy complete recovery. I truly hope & pray that he comes back even stronger & better than he's ever been. The man gave it all in his shows. His encore lasted longer than any other performer's I've ever seen. He never stopped. Whatever you think about the man, who he married, his past mistakes, his choices he IS a multi-talented musician who I believe actually enjoys what he does in the studio & on stage. I don't think, for Keith, it's all about the money. If you saw the Glen Campbell tribute on the CMA's it was a musician being able to honor his musical idol from his youth. A man he says he listened too in Australia & because of that he chose to leave his home & come across the world to start a music career in the Capitol of Country Music. Keith, every blessing & grace to you & to those who have you in their medical care. Looking forward to hearing new music from you in 2012. Continue your AWESOME performances & just be yourself. God Bless.

Yes, his remaining fansies will eat it up like cake...but again, I hear NO discernible difference in this voice. Whereas I read that Adele canceled the remaining gigs of her tour and apparently had complete laryngitis due to her vocal hemorrhage...where she was reduced to her holding a notebook with "I'm so sorry" and posted the photo on her website...
http://neonlimelight.com/2011/10/28/adele-schedules-throat-surgery-cancels-remaining-tour-dates/
...apparently, the orb who also claims to have suffered a hemorrhage "on tour"...did not miss ONE show...and actually finished his tour quite strongly...

...and was praised quite enthusiastically by this reviewer... who also mentions...

And the winner is: Keith Urban
Article by: JON BREAM , Star Tribune Updated: October 16, 2011 - 8:48 AM
"2. Urban, who turns 44 this month, has the energy and oomph of AC/DC -- and the kick-butt drummer (Chris McHugh) to match. And, on the last night of his tour, Urban carried on for 32 songs (if you count the made-up one near the end) and 170 minutes.
...so, 32 songs...2 and half hours of such "energy and oomph of an AC?DC" the LAST show of his tour? The tour orb claims he suffered a hemorrhage? Just over a week later, on Oct 26, orb of course made that first of a "supposed" 3 show commitment... and appeared at the Opry...

Keith Urban Concert Setlist at Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville, TN, USA on October 26, 2011
...and in the upcoming weeks...orb performed at the ASCAP awards on Nov 6...he performed twice at the CMA's on Nov 9...and he performs for the "'CMA Country Christmas" special taped on Nov 10. And as I also mentioned...doesnt include the obvious "rehearsal" time put in on the songs. That is ONE very busy schedule for someone who not just "developed" a polyp...but apparently suffered a hemorrhage while on tour...that again, he did not miss ONE show. NOw orb is able to make...I would "assume'...just prior to having throat surgery...a video for his fansies with nary a sign of even SLIGHTLY a scratch in his voice! But then I guess orb IS one righteous and awesome rockin' dude...who can play through the bleeding and hemorrhaging and blistering and polyp inducing bellowing...he must at times seem like a true rock god to us mere mortals! HA!
http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/laryngoscopy
FYI-complete voice rest after procedure 2 days
hoarse for 3 weeks
if polyp is removed complete voice rest for 3 weeks
H, M.D.
I really don't know how bad it is. But I do say this if he was medicating that throat he could very well get through.
As I have said there have been rock stars with big big careers that masked the hemorrhaging until they couldn't any longer. Not wanting to stop the momentum. In the end they were forced to take years off.
KU does not have a strong voice to begin with. If he is straining (as you can see by the cords in his neck) then it is very possible he was fixing it temporarily. Now if this is true then at some point the doctor said no more.
He could possibly come back sounding better then ever. I personally don't think he will get any better than what he has now. If he ever really has a voice again. But you never know.
I wish him well. I hope he comes out of this safe and sound the Good Lord willing!
There are some people who could care less about Keith Urban. There are others who drink the kool aid and think the sun rises and sets on him
I guess I am in the middle- I like him I like to go see him I don't like the way he does his business or conducts his public personal life.
I do however know that this surgery is a big deal and it will alter how he is able to sing- maybe better maybe less but it will be different and that will make a change. I think what he was doing in the last few weeks was wrong- better to not say anything than to speculate it wasn't a big deal.
I thought the video was sincere and its about freaking time he does say thank you to his fans because I think be it bunny or skeptic there is a fan base that has plodded through and stuck with him and that should be acknowledged.
For me I just want to wish him well in the next few weeks and I hope he uses the time wisely
Very nicely said, Joy. You have a lovely clear energy. I don't particularly care for Keith's singing, love his guitarwork, however, I know people who are undergoing severe challenges in their lives and those of loved ones, who find Keith's singing and energy and musicianship gives them the energy and oomph to carry-on ... however that reaches them, good on that.
Thanks for that link, Dr. Hoosier...it was very informative. I found the article from the Daily Telegraph of Oz to be revealing. As I have no doubt, due to orb's current and clear agenda...that they got the info that orb's hemorrhage and polyp was "misdiagnosed" by a doctor from orb's hacks. Surely, that would give orb an excuse for why as I just pointed out...the orb so radically and with so much abandon... was singing his head off at the end of his tour!
Obviously, with my cynical eye...and as my clear motto intimates...I simply do not just listen to what orb says...but what he does.
So....file this under...dont let this ruin your dinner, folks! So recall a couple months ago how it was reported in a fan review of one of orb's gigs...that he took a big swig of water...and SPIT it out into his audience? Here...in a fan youtube video of orb's last show on Oct. 15...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIIlpjcm7AI
...orb "spits" water into the front row crowd. Now take into account...that as the video starts...orb is slowly walking with head bowed to the front of the stage...and notice as the time ticks by...10 seconds...11 seconds...15 seconds....16 seconds...and finally AT THE 18 second mark...orb sprays the water out of his mouth onto the people in the front row. For MORE than 18 seconds that water is sitting in his mouth...where it is marinating with his saliva...assorted muccus...the bacteria in his mouth...AND THEN take into account the hindsight of orb's recent explanation that he suffered a hemorrhage sometime on tour! Yes...not a very..how to put it..."tasteful" image, huh?! Well, at the time I described orb "spitting" into the crowd as passive/aggressive...and I found it pretty gag inducing actually. Well, now you can probably add "blood infected" orb juices sprayed into their faces...IF...you believe orb actually suffered a hemorrhage while on tour and will have MUCH needed surgery later this month!
Maclen:Well, at the time I described orb "spitting" into the crowd as passive/aggressive...and I found it pretty gag inducing actually.
Could not agree more, however, I think it is due to:

Yeah well hoosier...I would surely expect that the fans who were in the front row would no doubt consider it an "honor!" What with getting orb's precious DNA...they probably havent washed their faces since! . Again, for me it's not so much the amount of the "mist"...it's simply the actual "gesture."
Maybe there was someone in the front row he didn't want there! I wonder if he aimed more for one than the rest of them. Maybe Moosie girl had one of her spies in the front row to make sure he was behaving himself since she hadn't seen him for quite a while!! ((giggles))))
The spit thing is disgusting but don't sit in the front row.
It's kinda like all those women who probably slept with him on the road in years past- they take the risk.

And so it begins
Well light those candles and have those prayer sessions started
He is rumored to be in Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston being treated by the same surgeon that operated on Adele on November 7th.
And stupid Richard Marx tweeted it
Oh, yes, I'm sure Keith will give St. Nickole credit for her phenomenal support during his downtime.
You'd think with her ~~PASSION~~ for being married w/ children she'd be a natural homemaker. But, I seriously doubt this woman who didn't find herself nesting with a four day old infant is gonna find herself in the kitchen preparing home cooked casseroles, pies or birds for the family or her "man" either this Thanksgiving holiday.
This is why Brad and Dierks and others can write music and Itty Bitty can't. Itty Bitty just has nothing real to write about.
"Hey peeps, once again please keep @KeithUrban in your thoughts and prayers for his vocal cord surgery tomorrow. Thanks much, RM"
Evidently marx is now an orb "insider" and privy to his medical schedule...and is also evidently "OK'd" to put out the "press release"! It WOULD help confirm my suspicion that marx may be currently VERY collaborative with orb and his next cd...and it will be orb's attempt at getting all "80's pop rock." Seeing as I mentioned earlier that it is the "classic" artists who do best on tours...ie; McCartney, U2, Springteen...but I would REALLY doubt if orb will make much of a splash with 80's "pop" hasbeen marx...IF all of only 9,990 following marx's twitters is any indication!
Well Marx has been a friend of KUs for years. But I really don't believe he is any place but Nash.
Unless I see a pic of him sitting in a hosp in Boston with Hagmaw sitting with him I won't believe it.
I think he is hiding in Nash and she is where she is most of the time in LA or NY!!!
If she advertises that they are in Boston together then I guess no one will be looking for her in Nash. So she can be any place now.
So is this a confirmation...

Nine hits back
"Key programming includes coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games and it has just been officially confirmed Delta Goodrem, Keith Urban, Joel Madden and Seal will make up the superstar judging panel of their version of the US smash hit reality singing competition The Voice."
...now...whether or not orb actually has throat surgerty ... the main point for me was that apparently orb WANTED to be in OZ early next year. Orb's cd sales...and it was just shown this summer that his "on the road" attraction WAS NOT as strong as prevously shown and I can see orb wanting to basically make a "new start" in Oz on a tv show as basically being a reaction to his decline in the states. And I also see as a possible tipping point for orb...the sale of EMI to Sony and Universal. So orb announces he will have surgery to remove a polyp...and will apparently spend AT LEAST 2 months if not more on recovery and rehab...therefore clearly the first months of 2012 and therefore making way for his big debut on the OZ tv show. Now, so what may be the point of doing this way? I would imagine IF orb was in fact interested in starting anew in Oz because of his OBVIOUS decline in the US...I doubt..."PR WISE".. he wants it to be perceived by many that he may be hightailing off to Oz for that reason. Better to have "a few months" of recovery and rehab of his voice as a likely excuse for taking the OZ tv gig. Because If...as his fansies like to claim...that he had another "STELLAR" year...WHY go off to Oz and do a tv show? I would wager...if orb had the year swifty is having....he WOULD NOT be flying off to oz for a rinky dink tv show! And again, that is where the weak cd sales... the declining tour audience...and now the sale of EMI, his cd distributor come in. He may prefer to attempt to start anew in Oz for a while...while he figures out how to get his career back on track in the US.
...post unscripted...
...so...what other reason, aside from a tanking career in the states...would orb want to be in Oz...doing a tv show of a popular US tv show...in "early 2012?" Now, of course, at the moment exaclty WHEN the show in Oz is to start production is unknown. With what little info on that point...and by simply what I knew...I simply assumed it may be in mid jan because of the BENEFIT FOR ORB. Orb wanted to clear the date. But, another thought hit me. What if THIS is the reason orb wants to be in Oz in early 2012...

...the first report that orb was committed to doing the OZ show came out on Oct14...2 months after swifty's OZ tour dates were announced. Could it be that orb is ONCE again trying to cop a few rays of swifty's limelight? So what are the odds that orb is doing the show in OZ in early March 2012...when swiftys tour rolls into OZ? And what are the odds that orb's hacks are at the moment "in contact" with swifty's about arranging a "special guest" role for orb to appear at her show? As Ive chronicled over and over...it is not a rare occurrence that orb would "ape"...(aweful pun intended)...what swifty is doing to try and get those massive press play swifty can so easily rustle up? Something to make you go...hmmmm.
...post "scritten"...
....so...more on my new hypothesis. Some possible new info...
http://www.mediaspy.org/report/2011/10/30/mcmullen-for-the-voice-not-a-done-deal-report/
McMullen for The Voice not a done deal: report
"Filming on The Voice Australia will begin in February and is expected to premiere early next year."
...so according to this report, filming of The Voice Austalia begins filming in Feb...AND swift's tour rolls into OZ in early March? Well, that "special guest" spot in swifty's tour MAY yet be orb's! So lets see...orb is having throat surgery...reportedly tomorrow Nov 23rd...and according to a medical site posted over at E! states, according to the doc that did Adele's procedure and is rumored to perhaps be orb's doc as well...
http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/11/15/adeles-doctor-describes-vocal-cord-surgery/#ixzz1eTg6IfUX
"Zeitels says a two-to-three month recovery and rehabilitation process, led by a vocal coach and/or speech pathologist, is typical."
...and wouldnt you know it...orb may, according to this report...be filming The Voice in Feb! That's perhaps 2 months if filming falls at the start of the month, the MINIMUM the doc states is recovery and rehab time...or 2 and a half months...if filming falls in the middle of feb...OR exactly 3 months if they start filming on Feb 23rd...which would be the max time the doc mentions for recovery and rehab! The bottom line...I would say that the orb has all this timing PRACTICALLY down to the minute second...or it is simply an act of almost perfect synchronicity!

Happy Thanksgiving all
Happy Thanksgiving also..
lets see how long it will take him to surface.
Oh Tara this is sooooo funny. KU puts out that he is staying in an undisclosed location. And Moosie girl has tweets out there that they are galavanting all over Nash.
Now if she had a brain or cared she would know that KU cannot go out in the cold for a few weeks. That is the worst thing for his throat.
He certainly wouldn't be in a closed theatre with a bunch of germ carrying kids or standing out in a Bentley dealership. Now how stupid can one person get!! ((giggles))
I think this is one of those tangled web moments she is so use to weaving!! :D
Tara said...
"lets see how long it will take him to surface."
What I will find even more interesting is noting...exactly WHEN will orb make it to Oz. New reports state orb will be on 3 weeks of silence and recovery, which takes him into mid Dec. Will they then take their usual trip to oz for xmas, or will orb's condition preclude such a lengthy flight? Or will orb make it to Oz in January? Which would make his taking of the tv show surely suspicious considering orb announced PRIOR that the 3rd BENEFIT FOR ORB was set for mid january? Also perhaps to be taken into account is that other report that the OZ show MAY begin filming in Feb...and I doubt if the celeb "mentors" are simply going to show up the same day of filming...but at least weeks before for "pre production" of the show. Despite the naive beliefs... "reality" shows ARE NOT un scripted "unscripted"...and I'm sure even the competition game shows have boatloads of writers! Orb is also on record already...
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/music/keith-urban-talks-about-throat-surgery-the-nine-networks-the-voice-and-his-own-cologne/story-e6frexl9-1226197258219
"He said Nicole was also thrilled about the chance to live at home for several months.
...and as Ive pointed out many times...what orb says in the press...is NOT always how it eventually plays out in reality. For instance...his sham of the "3 to no more than 4 days apart"....to that kidman would be out on the road with him..and may even write a "screenplay"...to "his girls" would be out for some of his Canadian gig...as we now know...kidman simply decided to disappear for a few months!
Well maclen...Sometimes what KU says in an article he really hasn't said. So it is hard to know what is KU from Moosie. She has writers too you know. And she says nothing ((unscripted))!!! ((giggles))
I believe the shock has not worn off yet about the lawsuit!! :D That told us a truth she would not have allowed out there. Rupie must be so preoccupied he didn't get Hagmaw's call. ((giggles))
Now here we are again. She is putting out that she is filming in Africa around the same time KU is rehearsing for Voice. So how can she be happy to be home when she will not be home?? (hmmm)
Also KU would not be walking around Nash right after surgery. The last time he had to stay indoors away from the cold! He cannot subject his throat to cold weather. So you see her people did no research on his condition...none...that tells you she don't give a tinker's damn about what he is doing not doing.
All hogwash from a big ugly moose!((giggles)))
Well, orb is an adult....in fact a middle aged adult. Whether or not kidman is his "mommy" and tells him what to say or release...or how to run his career...or what clothes to wear...well then that's too bad for orb! But I'll continue to put it ALL on orb. Trying to parse what is "orb" or what is "kidman" is fruitless for me. I'll stick to placing the responsibility on orb since it's his career that I am focusing on.
Well, this ISN'T SURPRISING at all! Last night they held the ARIA awards in OZ. Orb was nominated for 3 awards...Best Country Album, Highest Selling Album and Most Popular Australian. And orb DIDNT win anything.
http://celebrity-gossip.net/aria-awards-2011/2011-aria-awards-show-winners-564567
2011 ARIA Awards: The Show, The Winners
From what I see, orb also did not win the previous year he was nominated, in 2009. Seems there is ANOTHER reason orb was so desperate to sign onto the Oz's version of The Voice! Seems that his Oz popularity, whatever there may have of it... is also waning!
Ha! So here is another example of how orb's hacks are just NOT into savvy PR BS...
http://www.boston.com/Boston/names/2011/11/keith-urban-recovering-after-surgery/qUthgEgWmDlcBMo7lDS2eJ/index.html
Keith Urban recovering after surgery
"Less than a week after country singer Keith Urban was spotted with his wife Nicole Kidman at Massachusetts General Hospital, his spokesman, Paul Freundlich, has told Reuters that Urban is doing well after surgery. Urban, who ran into John Mayer while he was at MGH last week, has explained to fans that the surgery was scheduled to remove a polyp near his vocal cords."
...yes, because his "CMT Crossroads" appearance last year with the napalm...unfortunately just PRIOR to the napalm's asinine misogynistic and racist comments in Playboy...performing with the napalm at last years CMT awards...and inviting the napalm to perform at last year's BENEFIT FOR ORB...and appearing with the napalm at that other morally bankrupt douche...tiger woods' "Tiger Jam" to diminishing charity funds raised...hasn't obviously helped tarnished his tanking career ENOUGH! What with the declining cd sales and the declining tour attendance...his hack's seem to have no problem getting the word out thatorb met the napalm last week in the Boston hospital. As Ive maitained more and more frequently...the obviously clueless and "savvy-less" orb DOESNT need kidman any longer to help sully his image...he can do it all ON HIS OWN! HA!
I know this is probably a stupid question, but why does Mayer hang at the hospital?
Was he there for support? Hand holding? Where they meeting for a "guys day out"?
Don't you think this may have made R. Marx a bit jealous? Maybe inadequate?
This is soooooooo much BS, I can't stand it. Orb has probably been in Nashville the entire time eating popsicles on Nic's lap.
Well I think the surgery was done in Nash before Moosie girl put out her tweets that they were in Boston.
And the undisclosed place for his recuperation? I will bet my last penny it isn't disclosed to Moosie either! ((giggles)))
Well, hoosier...the napalm had throat surgery last month apparently at the same hospital. That they would happen to meet when orb was there for his "procedure" is one thing...but again as I maintain...giving that info to the Boston globe for print is another issue altogether! And it seems napalm and adele as well, had throat surgery at this Boston Hospital...apparently the hospital has a special "celeb discount rate" that has them swarming to the place. I'd wager this hospital will soon become the new "Betty Ford Center!"
So, I just read that the Grammy Nomination Concert is in two days. As has been pretty obvious...the Grammy's have been basically the last bastion for a sure fire award for the orb is recent years. Orb has won the Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal the past two years, while not winning at the CMA's, the ACM's...the AMA's or even an Oz Aria award the past two years. Well, of course there is NO longer a country category for "Best Male Country Vocal" at the Grammys. There are ONLY 4 categories..."Best Country Solo Performance", "Best Country Duo/Group Performance", "Best Country Song", "Best Country Album." Orb will now have to compete with basically EVERY OTHER country act out there. And since orb basically trails in every stat in country music...cd sales..tour grosses...ALL new social media PR, ie..youtube, facebook, twitter...I wouldnt be surprised if orb's grasp on a sure Grammy nom even...let alone a win...is finally severed. We shall see...
So, basically...not much new on the orb lately. What with orb "supposedly" blowing a gasket while on tour orb is "silenced" the next 3 weeks. There has been basically NO stats to report on regarding orb. I predicted about a month ago that it would be the last mention of any cd sales reported on the soundscan sales reports for orb's cd. His cd has basically tapped out at about 650k-660k sold...which is about 340k LESS than his last cd. HIs tour ended last month with average grosses of about $500k per show and about 9,000 people per show...which is about $212k LESS per show and 2,255 LESS people per show than his last tour in 2009...which is for dramatic effect...180,320 LESS people total that went to his tour than in 2009!
So, with a dearth of any stats to crunch...I just happened to stumble onto digital singles download reports over at Country Chart talk forums. So, after a lull in sales stats...here now courtesy of country chart talk...and compared to the digital singles sales of all the usual suspects...
http://countrycharttalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=904
Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart numbers Week Ending 10/23/11
01 Blake Shelton – “God Gave Me You” 50,352 / 703,884 | GOLD
03 The Band Perry – “If I Die Young” 36,766 / 3,272,647 | 3X PLATINUM
05 Lady Antebellum – “Just A Kiss” 34,364 / 1,667,727* | PLATINUM
07 Rascal Flatts (with Natasha Bedingfield) – “Easy” 27,345 / 411,412
08 Jason Aldean – “Dirt Road Anthem” 24,323 / 2,257,961* | 2X PLATINUM
09 Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood – “Remind Me” 22,328 / 1,090,825 | PLATINUM
16 Taylor Swift – “Sparks Fly” 16,803 / 482,883
20 Kenny Chesney (with Grace Potter) – “You And Tequila” 13,756 / 804,989 | GOLD
25 Blake Shelton – “Honey Bee” 11,131 / 1,576,853 | PLATINUM
29 Keith Urban – “Long Hot Summer” 9,889 / 227,503
...so, orb's single, Long Hot Summer has sold a PALTRY 227k digital downloads? This single was released this past June...5 months ago. By comparison, shelton's cover of "God Gave me You" was released 4 months ago in July and has sold 703k...the Flatts single, "Easy" was also released in June and it has now sold 411k...swift's "Sparks Fly" came out in July, 4 months and has sold 482k. Orb can only sell a paltry 227k of his #1 hit song!? So not ONLY is orb weak in cd sales and touring...but add singles sales...SUPPOSEDLY his STRONGEST point! But NOT when of course compared to other country acts...
So, if he can't sing after surgery can we officially say he threw a rod as opposed to just blew a gasket?
Well hoosier...the rod WAS definately "thrown"...but as orb later claimed, he suffered a "hemorrhage" while out on tour... whether it was early, mid or late in the tour is not revealed...so to me a premeditated "diagnosis" of "blown gasket" is far more apt to orb's situation! Actually as some have pointed out...orb has suffered "vocal problems" for years...and as I also bring up...how many of those 'situations" were actually "voice problems" and HOW many were actually "Betty Ford" situations? Hard to take an admitted addict's word on anything. As I also like to mockingly point out...it seems the new "exhaustion" is now the "vocal cord" problems. In which case, as I mentioned previously...the Massachusetts General Hospital Voice Center IS the new Betty Ford!
So...just read this...
http://www.gossipcenter.com/cmt-awards-2011/taylor-swift-honored-cmt-artists-year-2011-566137
Taylor Swift Honored at CMT Artists of the Year 2011
"Celebrating the top acts the genre has to offer, the stars of country music joined forces to tape the 2011 CMT Artists of the Year event in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday night (November 29)."
"Joining Miss Swift as the five acts comprising the 2011 CMT Artists of the Year were fellow attendees including Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum and Brad Paisley."
...so tonight they taped the CMT Artist of the Year to be broadcast on CMT next month, Dec. 13. This as you'll recall was announced back on Oct. 6...
http://www.theboot.com/2011/10/06/2011-cmt-artists-of-the-year/
2011 CMT Artists of the Year Revealed
...and since the honorees were chosen based on...
"...sales, country radio airplay and concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner."
...it only makes total sense that orb WOULD NOT be included in this honor! Also wanted to highlight the dates of the announcements of the Artists of the year for CMT...AND orb's announcement of upcoming "throat surgery" which he announce about a month LATER. I have no doubt at all IF orb HAD been included in the CMT artist of the year honor...which just taped tonight...his announcement of "throat surgery" would have been..."to be performed in EARLY DEC...instead of LATE NOV...just so orb could be present on this show.
...post scrumptiously...
...seems like Ive re-entered "Insomniac Theater 3000" mode once again...
...so, noticed this review of orb's last concert gig in Minneapolis on Oct 15th...about a month BEFORE orb explained that he suffered a hemmorhage on tour and would have "throat surgery" due to it. This is a review by an orb fansie who posts at the Pulse Music Board. Now noticing that this fansie has posted 3,963 times at this forum since joining ONLY a year and a half ago...I would wager that this fan is HARDCORE...and has been to MANY of orb's shows throughout the years. And as a HARD CORE Beatles fan, I most certainly have every note...every nuance and genuflect of their recorded voices and the instrumentation seared into my brain from infinite hearings of their music. So I would assume this fan would be well versed in the orb's performance through the years. So this commenter posted this review of orb's last show on oct 16...
http://pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=country&action=display&thread=110524
"I've seen some other great concerts but Keith was sooo good last night, so electrifying and entertaining. Jake Owen was a good opener but once Keith came on at 8:45, the night took on a new meaning and Keith played for 3 straight hours, literally non-stop. I've never seen such an entertaining guy...singing and running around and playing the guitar, going out into the crowd...it was great." "Man, I was so excited when he did the encore and sang "But For The Grace Of God"...I think there are some people who don't always associate that song with Keith because it is older, or maybe they just forget about it. I've always loved that song, and it was like he was singing it out to the audience, that he must've been blessed to be born such a lucky guy to be able to be there with all the fans like that. That was such a special moment...he sounded great, and he nailed the performance, but of course I knew he hadn't done the song live in a while, not for several years apparently....but you would've never known because it sounded so perfect!"
So, to reiterate..."played 3 straight hours, literally non stop"..."he sounded great, and he nailed the performance" and "it sounded so perfect." Seems even this "superfan" ALSO noticed NO problems with orb's singing voice. Another fansie commented in response to my claim orb didnt sound any different in video performances posted on YOutube of orb on this tour...that they had "noticed orb using throat spray" before a show...but this was AFTER orb had announced the "throat surgery." And as this review states by a commenting superfan, on orb's last gig...he sounded "great and perfect!" But as I will continue to maintain, I...as well as this superfan...didnt hear anything odd...or strained...or even SLIGHTLY OFF about orb's voice this tour. And as I will also continue to maintain...it is due to the high probability that their WAS NOTHING wrong with his voice...that simply "conflicting career options and conflicting commitments" was the true consideration.
He knew it was his last concert for awhile- he did say that he was taking a break before the throat thing.
Love how there is now a claim that Kidman wanted him to do the voice
sorry but- he has always wanted to be a superstar in Oz. He was big in Country Music but that wasn't a big genre- He has always wanted to go back and be a superstar- now being beamed on national television once or twice a week will make that happen- look what it did for Blake and Ce lo Green.
and it was sad to pick up Country Weekly and see a photo of everyone who records for Capitol Nashville in a group shot from the CMAs and everyone was in it except Keith.
Did they not go to any of the parties?
Tara...I don't believe he went to any of the parties. It did look like there was a hole in the pick.
I guess she will take the limelight as far as the show but he really did interview and was chosen. He has a good following in Oz may not be big but it's there.
Moosie is the one that is not liked and KU felt it being hooked by that.
So, the Grammy nominations were released tonight...

...and just as I surmissed...due to the elimination of several categories, orb is out with NO nominations. Out of the 4 country categories...swifty got 3 noms out of 4...aldean got 3 noms....shelton got 2 noms...chesney got 2 noms and thompson square got two noms. VERY interesting is that vince gill received a nom for Best Country Song. Seeing as orb purportedly had originally scheduled the BENEFIT FOR ORB only a few weeks before the Grammys next year to accommodate gill's schedule, only to have it canceled due to orb's SUPPOSED need for "throat surgery." Again, I maintained, IF orb "wanted" to get the SUPPOSED "throat problem" simply taken care of....WHY NOT just let gill host the BENEFIT FOR ORB rather than cancel the already seemingly arranged benefit with committed guest performers? BECAUSE....that would undermine the TRUE purpose of the BENEFIT...which was to be a "VANITY EVENT"...to help out the chances of first...the CMA awards...and then the Grammy awards... FOR ORB! So I see gill's nomination tonight as a true instance of "Instant Karma"...a just choice to counter orb's rather callous "manipulation" of the charitable event for his own personal gain. Good on the Grammys to at least make the perhaps "unrelated" fix...but at least in my mind IT WILL NOT be unrelated!
Oh I am soooooo happy not RED CARPET for Moosie!! ((giggles))) I think KU did a fine job!!
I have to tell you maclen I hope this continues till she vanishes !!!
So...let me round out this thread to comments into the 3 digits.
Just to flesh out my more recent meme...I'm still on the side of believing orb DID NOT have a hemorrhage while on tour...his evidently strong finish to the tour and unnoticed "vocal problems" more than make it highly probable in my mind. So for that matter a "polyp" may OR may not have been present...who is to state it was fact...orb? He says many things that turn out not to be fact. There ARE many situations to show that orb WOULD prefer to make the rather big decision to commit to a "reality show" in OZ for who knows how long of an actual commitment. Sure, he MAY have wanted to return to Oz and conquer...or RE-conquer the Country scene in that country. But I see the choice MORE in reaction to his dwindling career. Orb HASNT had a stellar past 2 years. Due to his dwindling cd sales, he surely lost his recording contract at capnash. And due to it, he had to schedule his tour 6 months after the cd dropped...not exactly the most opportune move to support the cd. And clearly, the tour DID NOT help his cd sales...and as it turned out...his cd DID NOT help his tour...which also saw declines in grosses and attendance from his highs of 2009. Then, within a span of a few weeks...there was the news of the scheduling of the BENEFIT FOR ORB to "early 2012"...and then the news of orb committing to the OZ version of The Voice which was to also take place in "early 2012." It's also interesting that the orb's announcement of "throat surgery" came ONLY a few weeks before the news of the sale of EMI to Sony and Universal. And what could planning "throat surgery" and eventually taking the job on "The Voice" in OZ possibly have with the sale of EMI? Well, what I may see is that, with orb's surely precarious situation at EMI...those decisions MAY be the perfect excuse to delay orb's next album. What if orb got his cd ready for the end of next year...BUT...CapNash under "new management...will NOT distribute this album? NOw as to the recently announced Grammy noms...I saw immediately the inevitable impact on the orb of the changes to the amount of categories. It seems a little TOO convenient that when orb DOESNT get a nom at the Grammys...and would have NO reason to attend...orb more than likely would not be attending anyways...since he's committed to an Oz "reality show" that may be filming in Feb...the month the Grammys are to be held. IT seems orb had that little situation PLANNED OUT rather impeccably, wouldnt you say? For surely IF I could see that coming...the NON nom at the Grammys...even orb...with all his faults of cluelessness and unshrewdness...evidently could ALSO see that coming!
maclen...I believe you have it figured out pretty well. And I do believe that no one is going to take any bribes from Moosie any longer. Maybe KU knew he would not see a nomination for anything. So what better time to turn in another direction.
Now what can Moosie reap from this? Will she sit in the audience every night hopefully waiting for the camera to scan for her ugly mug? ((hmmmmm))) Seems things are not looking so good for Moosie in the near future!! ((giggles)))
I seriously doubt orb planned this out hatti. Orb didnt receive a Grammy nom because of the changes to the categories. Orb isnt in the top 5 of ANY category in country music... and with LESS categories there isnt alot to "spread around" and give orb his usual "obligatory" award. This is just ANOTHER blow to orb's dwindling relevancy in country music. Which is why he is fleeing to Oz to search out possible greener pastures.
Well hatti...with definate declining careers...they will settle for WHATEVER they can get! Orb will do a "reality show" in Oz and all kidman has left are those supporting roles in indie films and films grossing LESS than $25k! I really doubt if the US fansie's of orb are going to be THAT thrilled about orb doing a tv show in Oz. Shelton is doing a US reality show...and having his best year so far. I cant really see much of an impact for orb doing that same show in OZ. And perhaps that is the choice orb IS making...finding those "greener pastures" OTHER than the US. I would also add...IF orb's fragrance is a bust...surely he will have enough confirmation that he CANNOT remain to be a viable commodity in the US market.
maclen I understand now. Yes it does make sense for him to try something that would keep him current.
These reality shows seem to be very popular. For whatever reason..I have no idea.
Obviously, Urban's surgery was performed at Mass General. A Boston Globe tidbit isn't necessary to verify the obvious.
Not because of a snarky discount, but due to the existence of it's famous Voice Center socializing in larynx surgery and treatments. The center is quite well known in Nashville and the rest of the world. Mayer was also obviously there as are many there for follow-up and therapy. Surgery is only part of treatment.

Kidman was in Nashville, the grocery, a few days ago, they may still be there during recovery or not. Irrelevant as they do indeed live here and are both seen frequently.
I think you might see Kidman sitting in the audience for the big shows but I doubt she will be there every show- remember she is a movie star and a former national treasure over there...
I liked his performance last night on the Christmas special - nice to see what he could do with someone other than his "musical director" sitting there leading the band.
We already know he had his surgery in Boston and hasn't been seen since. remember that the Kidman's have minions to do those crass things like cook, clean, shop and raise their children so seeing them do any of those things in public is always suspect.
No, Tara,
It is not suspect to see the Urbans at the grocery. Actually, they are there several times a week. Seems, like myself, they don't cook and live at the deli. I go at least 4xs a week myself and see them there as does everyone else. Of course, we see all our neighbors, famous or not. They also go to the mall across the street, the spa, and the movies. You obviously are not familiar with Green Hills.
They live close by off Harding, as most do and we all frequent the same dense 6 blocks of businesses comprising our main street. Everything is in one small area.
They have coffee at the same places we all do, then go their gym a few blocks down the road, then the grocery for the salad bar several times a week. Surprise, as it's Whole Foods, they also buy groceries. We all have the same routine, no way to miss them and no, none of us can pay anyone to eat, drink our chai lattes, watch movies, have our nails polished, or exercise for us. I also have a small staff, but we each live our own lives.
The truth is they are low key, drive themselves, are smiley, chatty, casual, and seem quite content.
Do you all go to crackle barrel together?
Tara you slay me matie!! ((giggles)))
What did you think of the CMA Christmas show?
Sorry I didn't read above you when I asked about the Christmas show.
For all the family things they are suppose to do in Nash. Moosie and kiddies don't go to the Christmas show?? ((hmmmmm)))
Of course she was too busy cleaning and cooking and putting the kiddies to bed. Can't have them out late. ((giggles)))
Well I have another senario. I think Moosie couldn't trust Sunday to say what she does Christmas morning without including her REAL MOMMY!!
You know how four year olds are. They just seem to tell the truth all the time!! Now that is a pain when you live a lie!! ((gigggles))
So, back after my overnight black out...I earlier today commented over at E! on the orb's performance at the CMA Xmas special. Taped on Nov. 10, just 7 days after orb announced his "throat surgery"...prior to this performance orb sang twice on the CMA's only the day before on Nov 9th...he also performed 3 days prior to that at the ASCAP awards on nov. 6. Now previously I also brought up the point that no doubt orb also went through 'rehearsals" of the songs performed...so DOUBLE orb's use of his voice for these performances.
I couldnt catch the broadcast last night...so today I found the YouTube video of his performance...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdzMkZAwWUY&feature=related
Keith Urban - "The Christmas Song" ((CMA Country Christmas 2011))
...where I felt orb was "exaggerating" his usual "country twang"...where his voice "cracks" throughout a song...it's occurs MORE so on the CMA xmas special performance...it's sort of a very subtle and slight yodel. After orb announced the "throat surgery"... 2 and a half weeks after his last show of his tour on Oct 15th...he said it was to remove a "polyp" that had developed while on tour. A few weeks later, orb said in the aussie call in radio show, Kyle & Jackie O...that he had "...hemorrhaged into a vocal cord and then this little polyp formed..."
http://www.thecountryvibe.com/Blog1/index.php/2011/11/18/keith-urban-talks-about-vocal-cord-surgery/
...I have already stated that I didnt think orb sounded much different than he did at the CMA awards. I posted a video of orb performing on his last gig in Minneapolis on Oct 15th from youtube. BUT...after watching the orb on the CMA Xmas show...I felt orb WAS REALLY overdoing it. So I checked out a few MORE videos of orb at his last show on tour. This is the first video I posted previously...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIIlpjcm7AI
...this next video orb is singing a slower song...as he sang on the Xmas special...

Tour Flashback: Only You Can Love Me - Minneapolis
...now...I dare ANYONE to watch this video...from Oct 15th...and then watch the CMA Xmas clip performed on Nov. 10th...4 WEEKS LATER...and tell me that orb sounded AS BAD while on tour? Recall, orb claimed he hemorrhaged and developed a polyp WHILE ON TOUR. And this is the LAST show on his tour. Heres another video from Oct 15th...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnSnw7ARXAU
Keith Urban Minneapolis (Stupid Boy) 10/15/11
...does this dude sound like he "hemorrhaged" into his vocal cord and had a "polyp?" Not at all. It would also explain why NO ONE even had a suspicion he had any "throat problems" while on tour...because he most certainly didnt sound like he did.. NOT UNTIL orb announced the "surgery"...and apparently "took the immediate precautions" of canceling a couple of gigs on the Opry...BUT NOT the awards shows! Yet, after supposedly taking precautions...he SOUNDS worse 4 weeks after his tour ends. To which I say...orb DOES not get an Oscar award...nor evidently his CMA...for his lousy acting!
Yep bitter four year olds can be very troubling
Have you ever eaten at a Cracker Barrel?
GAG
I have heard that at certain ones in the Nashville area Kidman is person non grada
Oh yes she was thrown out. Hey let me tell you she was on the wrong turf for her stupid outbursts!! Moosie is a nobody in Nash!! ((giggles)))
Oh but wait a minute she is a nobody in HW too!!! :D
I Know they want to keep him in the bunnies hearts and minds while he is in time out (does anyone think he might be getting a little nip and tuck too?) but the 12 days of Keith Urban trivia contest on his facebook page..... which makes me think
the Umyths 12 seconds of Keith Urban trivia contest...
1. Name the Aussie Fan site that drew Urbanites in large numbers until it was purged in one weekend.
if there seems to be an audience for this I have 11 more questions
Tara I have no idea. I don't know was it the groupies board? I did hear that was shut down. I really don't know what that board was. I assume it must be something that had to do with KU.
The answer is the late great Urbanmates- where I met so many good people.
But I do wonder what they are going to do to keep him current

"The answer is the late great Urbanmates- where I met so many good people.

Yeah, I imagine..just as with the fansie sites and the fansie blogs that simply went to black...the "discussion" on orb just simply got TOO embarrassing to continue to try and defend! To wit...
So, finally...something actually to comment on...Billboard's "Year in music" reports...here is "The Year in Country" report...
http://www.billboard.com/#/column/the-615/the-year-in-country-taylor-swift-spoke-up-1005644392.story
The Year in Country: Taylor Swift Spoke Up
"This ain't your granddad's country music. Today's country stars are just as at home on the pop charts as they are on the country tallies. Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, the Band Perry and Jason Aldean, among others, all made their mark in other genres in 2011."
...well, as is pretty obvious...swifty tops the country story this year...and also making the country "scene" in Billboard is the participant on the US version of "The Voice"...shelton, eli young band, Aldean...Lady ant and Zac brown band...orb's Canadian opening act, the band perry and even mccreery get mentions. NO mention of orb. Now onto billboard's Top Country albums tally...
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts-year-end/top-country-albums?year=2011
....orb is #9 out of the top 10 albums for 2011. And orb IS ONLY ahead of chesney's album, which has been certified Platinum...because Billboard's top albums tally begins in Nov of 2010 to present...and chesney's album was released in Sept of 2010. Orb's album is ACTUALLY the LOWEST SELLING cd in this list at about only 660k! Now, onto billboard's 25 top grossing tours...
http://www.billboard.com/#/features/top-25-tours-of-2011-1005641362.story
...and orb DOES NOT make it onto the top 25 tours of 2011! The LOWEST grossing tour on this list is Toby Keith with a total gross of $27,313,132. Now, of course, I followed orb's grosses over at Pollstar, and based on their weekly reports, I figured orb who played 60 gigs this year would gross about $30mil...with a plus or minus of about $2mil. Well, billboard's data has orb grossing LESS than MY minimum for his tour based on the Pollstar data. Now all this is CLEAR indications of WHY orb would rather escape to OZ...what with a clearly FAKED excuse of throat problems and "elected" "surgical procedure!" I'm sure even orb can see his options in the US country scene are fast and inevitably dwindling away!
Okay Tara what is the next question. Let's see how many we can answer. :D
What happened to the mates board, Tara?
Okay -
Keith used to wear a silver ring long before he wore his contractual ring, what was imprinted on the ring and what happened to it? You can see the ring in the first solo CD pictures.
Well Tara that is a new one for me. I met KU in 04 and he did not have a ring nothing was ever mentioned about him having a ring.
But since he was a avid reader of many subjects I am going to speculate that the ring's inscription was written in Sanskrit.
The Mates board went private.
Was that the Dolphin ring Tara?
Very Good notbuying it.
There are two stories about what happened to it
the first is that a fan got it in a meet and greet after shaking his hand is came off never to be seen
the second is that someone had a temper tantrum and threw it.
which one is accurate?
New question -
Keith Urban has never really been single- he was always with someone
when there was an awards show or an event- did he take his partners
if he did where did they sit?
Oh wait Tara...What was inscribed on the ring. Was it inscribed in latin?
Also I would say someone walked off with it. KU is too cheap to throw something valuable.
Tara. I heard the story about the fan. If I was to guess, I would say the Diva bride threw it. He took Laura to award shows. I heard that Niki stayed in the limo when he walked the carpet. I did hear that when he was dating someone you would occasionally see them off at the side of the stage.
At events he would have his date in the same row as he was and at shows off the stage. Laura was with him when he won the Horizon award and until Vampira he never was seen with anyone- you know that image
Niki Taylor would not attend anything with him.
new question-
if a red solo cup was onstage in 2003-05 what did it contain?
So, while basically on my annual "end of year" hiatus from the mundane and ridiculous "orb watch"...an instant musing...
...well into the christmas holiday season, seems many country acts are getting all sorts of sale "bumps"...whether from the xmas season or from the various awards recognition...
http://www.roughstock.com/blog/chart-news-for-december-14-2011-scotty-back-at-1-aca-s-help-sales
"With the American Country Awards televised early last week, country sales had time to make remarkable gains and it proved to be true on the SoundScan Top 200 Current Albums chart as nearly all of the country records on the chart – all but Taylor Swift’s Speak Now World Tour Live CD/DVD or Blu-ray combo stayed level or scored strong sales increases."
"Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night continues its march towards platinum with the album about 41,000 copies away from that mark (which likely will happen this week). Jason Aldean, who won 5 ACA Awards this year to cap off the best year of his career, moved another 34,000 copies of My Kinda Party To find the album at 2111,000 scanned..."
"Taylor Swift’s Speak Now is nearing the 4x Platinum mark (it’s only 175,000 in sales away) and will hit that sometime next year before her fourth studio album hits retail in summer/fall 2012. The Band Perry’s self-titled debut also is approaching a sales milestone. It’s already certified Platinum by the RIAA but the album is very close to scanning the number and is less than 40,000 copies away from doing so..."
"The Zac Brown Band return to the Top 10 this week with You Get What You Give. The record joins their first record The Foundation in scoring the band their fourth #1 hit. The album’s hits are “As She’s Walking Away,” “Colder Weather,” “Knee Deep” and “Keep Me In Mind,” which hit the top spot this week."
Lady Anthebellum Own The Night 51,000 959,000
Jason Aldean My Kinda Party 34,000 2,111,000
Taylor Swift Speak Now 27,000 3,825,000
The Band Perry The Band Perry 27,000 963,000
Zac Brown Band You Get What You Give 15,000 1,298,000
Kenny Chesney Hemingway's Whiskey 6,000 1,004,000
...and of course, orb's sales are TOO INSIGNIFICANT to even mention! Aldrean's bump is to 34k...swift up to 27k...band perry at 27k...Zac at 15k....chesney's 6k is bringing up the rear. No doubt orb's previous "bump" was very enemic...and clearly NOT lasting.
I have a question
How can we see how the cologne is doing? Is there some way to see if its a bust or a success?
Ok Tara....Now the only thing I can think of that could be inside this red cup would be a Fosters beer. Of course that was before Moosie girl he can't have a Fosters anymore he has to be a recovering alcoholic so she can be his savior!! ((giggles))))
As for the cup..
two theories
one that it did contain an adult beverage and was kept filled to the rim
the second was that during that period he was having throat trouble and the red solo cup was the spit pit
but there was a fear some bunny would take it. You know that DNA
eeewww
New question
Is it true that security kept tabs on various fans who were deemed troubling over the years?
Ok maclen...Can you track the sale of this cologne?
I would think we would have to tackle it from the distribution side how many bottles were sent out from what ever manufacturer is shipping.
You are the expert here please let us know.
Ok now this one I know. Yes certain fans they kept tabs on. The fans that were so over the top like the one that left her family to follow him. She thought she was going to travel with him.
The real fanatics!!
We know they are as dangerous as the Moose!!! ;)
My favorite was the one that thought she had two children with him.
so on that note here is another question
in what state did the fan jump the little round stage tackle Keith and supposedly grab little Urban?
Hatti said...

Well, Hatti, I think you'll have to wait for Forbe's yearly "Top selling Celebrity perfumes" reports. I doubt if there's anywhere that tracks them on a weekly or monthly basis.
So, back on the subject of orb's lack of selling power...I neglected to check on his current status on those billboard charts. Not only has the orb's cd apparently fallen off the Top 40 Country album chart...but orb has also fallen off the Top 200 Album chart. And not only has orb's cd fallen WAY off...he also VERY unshrewdly has no other meaningful product out there to make up. Of the top 200 Albums...here's what country acts are doing...
http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/billboard-200?begin=181&order=position
#13 Clear as day-Scotty Mccreery
#15 Own the NIght- Lady Antebellum
#26 My Kinda Party- Jason Aldean
#30 Speak Now: World tour Live Concert-Taylor Swift
#34 Clancy's Tavern-Toby Keith
#39 Speak Now- Taylor Swift
#40 The Band Perry- The Band Perry
#41Tailgates & Tanlines- Luke Bryan
#46 Four The Record- Miranda Lambert
#78 You Get What You Give- Zac Brown Band
#79 Red River Blue- Blake Shelton
#80 Chief- Eric Church
#82 The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection-Taylor Swift
#85 Hell On Heels- Pistol Annies
#89 A Merry Little Christmas (EP)-Lady Antebellum
#104 White Christmas- Martina McBride
#107 Need You Now- Lady Antebellum
#117 Here For A Good Time- George Strait
#118 This Is Country Music- Brad Paisley
#119 Fearless-Taylor Swift
#141 Once Upon A Christmas- Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton
#150 The Christmas Collection- Amy Grant
#160 The Foundation- Zac Brown Band
#161 Taylor Swift-Taylor Swift
#173 Eleven- Martina McBride
#174 Honky Tonk Christmas- Alan Jackson
#179 Outlaws Like Me- Justin Moore
#187 Joy To The World- Faith Hill
#198 Alabama Christmas- Alabama
#199 hing Like This- Rascal Flatt
...so while the orb has NOTHING on the list...swifty has 5 cds in the top 200...Lady ant has 3...zac brown has 2...lambert has 1 solo and with the pistols and paisley, band perry, and even the flatts are still "representing!" If I were a fansie, I'd be VERY alarmed by these stats. Orb doesnt have much "demand' out there....he doesnt have much to sell and NOT many buyers. And I'm pretty sure orb realizes all this as well. And in the world of music, that's everything.
Indeed fans did grab the "Little Urban" more than once whenever he went into the audience. In fact, it happened at almost every show. Yes, security did know of the crazy fans on an individual basis. You would be very surprised to know how much they actually know what goes on in the crowd. They know who they need to watch. Behave at those shows because you would be surprised at who and how many are watching you.
In addition, the fan never tackled Urban on the little stage. Oakie saved the day on that one and grabbed her in mid-air.
The questions was in which state did it happen?
Holy Cow!! In my day they threw underwear!! ((giggles))))
I'm going to take a wild guess and say Wisconsin!! ;)
My second guess would be NY!! :D
Ok maclen...Well by that time it will go by the wayside like so many other fragrances out there.
Thanks ;)
It happened in Michigan and Keith talked about it in an interview and said she got too close for comfort
I don't think this is the same event you are talking about Blue Sky.
So they are making it known they are in New York City schleping the kids to skating rinks and museums. I wonder if Kidman has her sights set on Zellweggers Conn estate that just went on the market- in the country and yet close to her favorite city in the world?
My last question of the week
In the summer of 2005, a number of shots were up all over the web of Keith and several others drinking some shots at a bar in Nebraska. Name at least two other people in those photos.
I really don't think that pic is from this year Tara. It was 60 degrees in NY yesterday KU is in a cap and leather jacket. Take a look at Sunday she is bigger and older than that pic shows her to be. No she's got to put out something you know got to have those pics!! ((giggles)))
There are a ton of pictures of the very stylish and unhappy Urbans in NYC this past weekend
oh Tom and Katie were there too
and isn't this Bella's birthday too
Oh yes stylish indeed. Seems to me that TC and company had a much happier experience!! :D
