When I heard the rumor about Keith agreeing to wear a bracelet on his ankle so that Kidman can monitor his use of alcohol, something inside of me snapped. For God's sake, this is an almost forty year-old man who has been dealing with these demons for going on a decade. I wouldn't even dream of insulting his treatment or his recovery by showing that I couldn't trust him. I was getting madder and madder and then I realized that I fell for yet another Kidman yarn. Here is what happened -Keith canceled his Manchester concert. He left England before anyone knew. That’s it.
We have had a number of blog entries from those supposedly enough lucky to have talked to him in England or rode a plane with him to Australia. There was a picture that was supposedly recent of him getting some groceries. We tend to believe this stuff because we like the reason. He had a bacterial infection, said his web site four days after the cancellation. Yet one brave gossip columnist and her sources say it was something else altogether. Now that gossip person, who I have to admit has been quite accurate in her reporting of this entire relationship, said that it was possible that Keith fell off the wagon but it was more than likely he got caught with his pants down.
I believe the gossip column. I also see why it would be so important for Nicole Kidman to want you to believe that he was sick or even that he was capable of falling off the wagon. Why? Because like last fall, it's easy to excuse an indiscretion by blaming it on a drug problem, rather than what I believe is the real reason, and that is a very unhappy husband who wants to end this facade of a marriage by acting out in a way that smacks at the lies he has spewed.
In my opinion, Kidman has gotten so much from this union. She is considered almost a saint for being the rock that has supported her husband. She is the loving spouse, her career hasn't been harmed. What about Keith? He is trying to save what is left of his career. He needed her help to get in the door in Europe, but it hasn't helped. He is famous but his eyes tell you how sad he seems to be. His rhapsody to his marriage, his current CD hasn't been burning the music industry. He dedicates a song to her each night on stage and she has explained that the relationship is too precious, too private to talk about. It's sad that this man has done all of this and maybe, just maybe, he felt that too. Maybe he is fed up, ready to retire from being her man-slave.
Maybe that is why he sought the professional help he did in Germany. Whatever the case I hope where ever Keith is that he is able to relax and think and realize that the American leg of the tour is coming up. I don't think he will have to pay for any comfort he may be seeking.

great blog, I read it daily,,. this marriage has been pretty dubious from the beginning. It will be a very bumpy rollercoaster ride, for all involved, I have no doubt. They've chosen a public vocation, like it or not, and they will need to contend with the scrutiny and speculation. Thats the reality, and of course they try to control the image they would like to portray, some are good at it, some are not. As to kidman, true, this marriage is irrelevant to her movie career... but her real problem is her blandness and choices of movie roles.
Tie up any man for too long and they either rise up and retaliate, or they succumb to their captor. Keith is a quiet soul with a lion's heart. It won't be long.
He has the support of many.
I'm sorry, I must've missed the news about "professional help" he sought in Germany. Are you referring to a massage? Or something deeper?

How brave is it to repeat the same unsubstantiated garbage posted elsewhere by those that want to see this marriage fail? And I guess she's still working to confirm details. She should stick to wardrobe and boob job critiques.

So your only going to believe things that come through official channels. This columnist has been dead on before and if she hasn't confirmed something she says so. What I'm more concerned about is how Nicole's PR people are going to spin all this when the confirmation does come. I suspect Keith's going to be the whipping boy again. Unfortunately, he made the choices that have brought him to this place in his life and it's going to take some initiative on his part to make things right and bring balance to his life. He needs to decide what he wants and then take the necessary action to get him to that place. I really don't care what choice he makes at this point as long as he gets back to the music and leaves the sideshow in his personal life.
So your only going to believe things that come through official channels.
No, I didn't say I believed the spin either. But this columnist isn't brave. She's trying to make a name for herself and she thinks she hit the gravy train with some 'sources' in Nashville who barf up the same tired crap. So far she hasn't come up with anything we didn't hear elsewhere.
And I think Keith is trying to get back to the music by making the best of the situation he admittedly helped create. Outing his every misstep on messageboards won't help him see the light. He's got to work it through his own way.
While it's possible that said columnist may have been "spot on" with some of her items, she NEVER offers up any kind of proof, i.e. picture, for her musings. There is an awful lot that she says that is never shown to be true either, yet no one wants to bring those up.

I'd say its pretty brave to put your opinions out there for people to possibly question your motives, or your intentions. Just as at this point in showbiz's almost century mark, people who decide to be public figures are not expecting to have their lives scrutinized by more and more outlets. But we all make our own minds on our opinions, and everyone is able to express them.
I'd say its pretty brave to put your opinions out there for people to possibly question your motives, or your intentions.
In that case, let's say it's brave that anyone posts anything at all on the internet. I don't think her carefully worded posts mean a thing. It could be this, it could be that...and then when the truth comes out, "Look, I'm right!" Of course she's right, she gave 3 different opinions, one of them is bound to be close. If you talk long enough, one of your guesses will be true.
How dou you explain the many fans who talked with Keith directly and he could barely say two words, but he was gracious enough to sign autographs. You think he was faking it? Please, this gossip reporter if full of CRAP! I guess you probably think his tour of germany was just a front for another rehab stint too? Only help he received was from a medical doctor to determine he had a bacterial infection. Why read more into it!!
Great Blog!
You've said alot of what I have been thinking lately.
About the bacterial infection... How easy is it to toss out the explanation of bacterial infection? No one who has ever had strep would question that it is difficult to talk, eat or swallow. But it comes on over several days-not overnight. I'm just sayin...

So I take it you agree with my opinion, and not yours, that this blogger is in fact brave? You seem to want to believe that this is, or should be, a news outlet, with all the journalistic "standards and procedures" that should be adhered to, just like NBC news, CNN,.., etc? Personally, I read this as a personal blog, who gives her /his on urbans career, marital highs and woes, what have you. Ånd I happen to agree with most of it, thats all. If she intends differently, thats fine with me, I'll believe and disbelieve whatever i read anyways, as usual.
So I take it you agree with my opinion, and not yours, that this blogger is in fact brave?
No, I don't agree that she's brave, that was sarcasm. What's brave about stating your opinion? There are no consequences to what she does. Who cares? It's gossip, not the Gospel. As you say, believe or disbelieve.
And I never said she should adhere to any journalistic standards, just that she shouldn't take three different scenerios, present all three as possible, and then wax triumphant when one of them happens to be right. It doesn't mean she has insight, it means she left it so open that she's bound to get a piece of it right.
Excellent point undecided.

So you don't believe the gossip columnists that have proven to be true over and over, but you will believe the ramblings of some fans that swear they saw him?? I live in Nashville, I could say...."OMG I saw Keith at Starbucks this morning making out with the girl behind the counter. Obviously he was busy, but he was nice enough to give me an autograph!"
With your logic, I'd say...Just cause they said it...doesn't mean it's true...right?
Ok...I'll put this out on the table.
Many chronic alcoholics suffer from a bleeding esophagus, this is called esophageal varicies. It has also been known to effect the vocal chords, especially on those who use them for a living.
I was at the Columbus concert when the vocal chords ruptured, and let me tell you it was an UGLY event. He was panick stricken to say the least.
Perhaps his recent throat problems are a bit more serious. I see many alcoholics with esophageal bandings to keep the bleeding veins and arteries at bay. I won't bother get into the bleeding ulcers and gastroinestinal bleeds alcoholics suffer from.
Food for thought...perhaps the bacterial infection is actually something more serious that they are trying to cover up?
It still bothers me that every single minute detail of Keith that's been plastered on any rag magazine is taken and manipulated, twisted and turned into something other than what it is. I'm not doubting that Nicole has used the media time and time again, but c'mon people, not everything this person has written in her gossip blog has been proven true. I will give you that some has been, but a lot has not. In this instance, I believe she's wrong. It is what it is, why try to spend your life creating what you really want it to be?
and why do you insist on wasting your time trying to convince us we are wrong..over-thinking the issue..or otherwise?..what difference does it make to you? are you on his payrole?..a banana slinging monkey...WHAT?
please..the man has become an unreliable screw-up..period..it does't take a gossip columniist or anyone else to say anything to prove that point..
and no..i don't think his "ill-ness" had anything at all to do with a "bacterial infection"..nice try on the head monkey's part though...do i think he has an ill-ness..yes i do..it's called chronic self-destructive behavior..be it drugs..alcohol..getting his hand caught "in the 'cookie' jar"..or having his head up Nics butt..he's not taking care of himself..or his career..and that's his perogative..but i'll be damned if i am going to feel sorry for him and his "predicament"
as for the "monkey's" that supposedly had contact..sorry..over the coarse of way to many years..i have met to many monkey's that were abject liars and some just plain psychotic..(no wonder NKU loves them)..they have less crdibility to me than the National Ledger..and that "resource" never get's thier facts straight..
Keith has chosen this path, and despite our views, he will have to live with it until he can muster the fortitude to stand up for himself. NK did not want a husband, she wanted and got, a doormat.
So far, it doesn't really seem as if we have to believe or dis-believe what a gossip columnist says about Keith. He seems to pretty much do what everybody speculates....which is to act like a mindless idiot. All we have to do is sit back and watch the sideshow.
I saw Keith perform in cologne and birmingham and have seen him perform a number of times prior to that. I can tell you catergorically, there were no audible problems with his voice. I dont know why he felt the need to cancel Manchester, but based on what I heard from his voice, I am amazed he cancelled. I suppose inly he knows the real reason he did it.
I'm not saying Keith has some incredible self destructive issues, he's got an addicitve behavior, but blaming every bump in the road on it seems ridiculous. No bunny here, just skeptical of those who continually find alterior motives when it's not always the case.
Precisely whitetrash... not every thing that happens with Keith can be attributed to NK as the skeptics would have us think. Sometimes shit happens and and we do have to take it at face vaule.
Tasty pic out there of a happy, smiling Keith hand feeding the wife while she cradles sis's new baby. Report says Isabella was there as well - hmmmmmm..... how does strike the skeptics on a Monday morn?
The only thing I will concede is that NK looked like Katherine Hepburn at 80 in the pic with that outfit.
Notachance said:

Well if you noticed earlier, Isabella was photographed out getting her hair done in some salon, and got blue streaks in her hair...of course, sans "grandma" kidman. Obviously kidman has no interest in sharing her vast experience in hair fashion with cruise's daughter.
I find it hilarious that right after any kind of public discussion of urbans behavior, and reasons thereof, they end up in some public outing, with hundreds of photos available to the hated paparazzi.
And I find it interesting that the skeptics actually believe they have something do with those "photo ops" and family get togethers. Paleeze - those little get togethers are already planned and are plain ole' coincidence to the skeptic's timeline of things. I mean really, you can't really think you & yours are always responsible, can you?

I have to say that this was completely planned. All those previous planted stories about NK and KU wanting to spend more time with Isabella and Connor. NK had to have made a deal with Tom. Of course, Tom is fighting a major gossip frenzy about his controlling behavior, so to show what a nice guy he is, he sends NK the children so that she doesn't have her PR team planting crap about Tom not allowing NK to see the kids because she doesn't believe in Scientology.
Oh and in those photos of the family outing, Keith looks more interested in the food then he is in his Bride.

Oh yes I do, nota! I Am responsible for this photo op, I concentrated my mindpower on getting them out there to hold hands and walk around pretending to have a leisurly day out together...
...but now back to reality.
I believe that celebs who depend on image try and get people to buy into their little make believe worlds, and by extension, to go see their their little make believe movies, (in this case, failing miserably,) will set up little photo ops to try and appear happy. That's why they have huge PR firms and a gaggle of agents and assistants... and nannies.. and yes, handlers to take little isabella out to get her hair done, so she doesnt have to, and can concentrate on her next movie.
My take on the whole photo op is simply this...
They're together - yes, together in Sydney for a bit which by the way, was orchestrated months ago when Keith's Ozzie tour was scheduled around Nicole's filming. This wasn't any new revelation. So what's wrong with a family outing? Well, when you're a celebrity plastered on the front page of all the rag magazines the paps will always be there to film it. Whether it's been orchestrated or not, you all act like this is something new. It happens all the time, not just with Keith and Nicole. Setting up a photo op for a Hollywood star is old news - it's been done since the beginning of the movie era. Why is it just now bothering you? Well, because it involves Keith. Get over it.
What I find strangely wierd is that Nicole and her sister, Antonia are wrapped up like mummies afraid to go out in the sun. It's almost vampire like.
And Isabella is cute, your typical pre-teen enjoying her youth - looks like her Mom and Tom are letting her do just that.

My goodness, now we have Tom & Nicole working together to manipulate the media. Do you realize just how STUPID that sounds? You make it seem like everything in their lives is a conspiracy to defraud the public of the real them.
Believe it or not, these "stars" do live everyday lives of their sort without thought to how it is perceived by us. While I agree that there are some photo ops and some planted PR stories - not everything is that way as you would have us believe.
My God - GETALIFE!
Whether she planned this outing as a photo op or not, Keith still seems to be enjoying himself. It's an important part of his recovery to participate in activities that are enjoyable but don't involve alcohol. He handles his infant niece more naturally than she does and he looks fit and tan. She isn't the only one gaining from this union.

For starters, how the hell would you know that it just now started to bother me? Or for that matter, when it started to bother me. Yes, your typical celeb. fanclub member response. Would that apply to you? So insightful and persuasive, that really shuts us all up, doesnt it.
"You make it seem like everything in their lives is a conspiracy to defraud the public of the real them."
LOL. That is exactly what celebs do! That is how Hollywood works.
"Believe it or not, these "stars" do live everyday lives of their sort without thought to how it is perceived by us."
Some stars do - but those stars don't have 3 page spreads in tabs all over the world or make the front page of their homeland's newspapers while living "their everyday lives".
We see exactly what they want us to see.
And if you think differently, then it appears the PR is working on some. And that is the whole point.
"While I agree that there are some photo ops and some planted PR stories - not everything is that way as you would have us believe."
No, you are correct, not everything is. But most, in regard to Nicole, is. When she wants to disappear and live her everyday life, she is perfectly capable. Like when she spends all that time with her children that isn't photographed.

You're absolutely wrong about that! I'm making generalizations, an opinion based on what I've read here and elsewhere...as are you! But my point is that yes, Nicole does use the media to her advantage, but you'd have to be blind to see that keith's doing the same. I don't care for her, but Keith ain't no saint either. There are times when stars are just going about their business while the paps are lurking in the bushes, but there are other times it's intentional. ou make it seem like the whole charade is Nicole's undoing. I find it hard to believe Keith wouldn't be a part of that too - if indeed is what's going on.

Well, now you've made it perfectly clear that dissenting opinion is not anything you are interested in - even though it is the REAL lifeblood of your blog as it spurs discussion (and a lot of times attacks from your followers). I have never seen you welcome someone with an opposing view. You skeptics all wear blinders and are not open to anything but your own opinion. Your blog would be quite boring without us dissenters. The moderator should be just that - moderate and accepting of all opinions as it facilitates a common goal - in this case some truth. It's now obvious that truth is not anything you seek.
Whitetrashcheeto, well i'd never even heard of urban before he hooked up with kidman. Being that he is just on the "scene", up and coming, people are going to beleive he's just trying to marry into a higher profile. In my opinion, yeah i beleive he wants to be a typical showbusiness celeb. But also, knowing he has a serious addiction/alcohol problem, its hard to believe in this situation, he's concerned with anything else really other than just trying to stay sober. And i believe like alot of people here, kidman is more concerned about her movie career, and trying to keep that going, and will try and manipulate her personal life for it.

Dissenting opinion is on thing, but hurling personal insults...
"Do you realize just how STUPID that sounds?"

...which you said to Perspone, in this post, is no way to foster healthy debate. And i dont see an "attack" by perspone at you in that post. If you want respect or just a little bit of common courtesy, you should try offering a little of it yourself.
maclen - I did not call perspone stupid, she is far from it. I said it sounded stupid. Big difference. And last I looked saying "GETALIFE" was NOT a personal attack, unlike your response to posts that were NOT directed at you, nor in response to you. And I try to make sure that none of my posts are personal attacks on other posters. You may call my response to the mod as personal, but I think someone who moderates should be held to a different standard than those of us that just post.
notachance, my point is if you are going to continue to whine and become shrill over mods behaviour, other peoples opinions sounding stupid, or that you were not welcomed and thanked for being on the thread, you will be responded to in kind, believe me.
And thanks for the advice, but I will continue to respond to any post on this blog, for as long as I am able to, whether they are directed at me or not... if thats ok with you?
If my posts are whiny & shrill, I can't imagine what adjectives you will come up with the really whiny & shrill posts that are certain to come.....

Now before i respond to this comment, notachance, you'll have to clarify it first. You see I cant make out by "what adjectives you will come up with the really whiny & shrill posts that are certain to come".... if your referring to your future posts, or if your trying to make some crack about my post? And you know I wouldn't want to assume... you know what happens when people assume?

......
Yes, now you understand how it works.
Artists must make the public believe what they say, they want us to love them, never question them so that we (the public) will buy the Tickets, to put money in their pocket.
I remember this study by Dr. Drew Pinksi on celebrites, and I think it explains alot.
heres the link if your interested: http://www.usc.edu/uscnews/newsroom/news_release_detail.php?id=132
heres how it starts...
"Celebrities have more narcissistic personality traits than the general population, and people with narcissistic tendencies seem to be attracted to the entertainment industry rather than the industry creating narcissists, according to a groundbreaking study conducted by researchers Drew Pinsky of the Keck School of Medicine of USC and S. Mark Young of the USC Marshall School of Business and the USC Annenberg School for Communication."
Interesting article maclen, but it just reiterates what we all already know. What it doesn't support is the media manipulation and the lengths of which y'all firmly believe these celebs resort to in order to feed their narcissism.
...Glad you liked the article...
Urban, I dont know much about, except that he has some serious addiction problems, has a few hit country songs. I'm not into country music, so i cant talk to the quality of his music really. I find kidman to be irritatingly bland, dull and lacking in any personality what so ever, to merit the acclaim she's given in the industry. I find her to be, to my taste, a shameless advocate of her own fame and adulation, who will utilize the usual cliched hollywood charity "work " simply to promote their cultivated image. Now, are their other celebs who do it? of course, but I'll stick close to the purpose of this blog, and that may be a reiterated point, but I'm talking here, and I'll decide what I want to post.
thank you for your co-operation!

Your welcome wildangel. The reason I posted it, other than I thought some members here may not have seen it, and might find it interesting, was it just adds to my personal opinion that celebs try to manipulate their image. Why? Because they are ultra narcissistic and are very concerned by how others perceive them . And also the usual back and fourth, the this is a photo op... no it isnt a photo op... that's what i believe... you have no business believing that, do not respond unless responded to.. get tiresome very quickly. Well, urban, from what others here who say they've followed his career, seem to believe he's been reined in and put on a short leash. Whats your opinion of him?
Maclen-
At one time I would have said Keith is very close to the image he portrayed but since he's been involved with her, Keith has changed and not in a good way. Many examples of the change are addressed in these blogs and as I see them written down, side by side, it sickens me that he has become more and more like her. Whats worse, is that this might be the real Keith we are now seeing and I, like many, allowed ourselves to believe the image. I am hoping that is not the case and he has been temporarily blinded by her status.
wildangel said:

---------------------------------
I've long maintained that his Mr. Humble Pie image was just that - an image. I guess I must consider myself one of the lucky ones that I didn't know of him when he was very accessible and where that image emerged from. I came on board soley for the music.
Much has been said about previous relationships with him - it's very possible that it was HIS narcissism that ruined those relationships and that in meeting Nicole he'd finally found the one that could click in that regard, although I don't believe a relationship of that nature can survive, Hollywood has proven it time and time again.
I think Keith will continue to make his ok music. He still lacks in songwriting ability IMO and continues to make up for that in his guitar playing (I'll take it, don't get me wrong). Until the time he lives some life and allows himself to write about those other things in life, there's only so much love & leaving he can draw upon now for his inspiration.
Good Lord! The sky must be falling, because for once, I am going to agree with most of what notachance just said!
I have been around for a long time and I fell hook, line and sinker for his "Mr. Humble Pie" schtick. After what I have seen over the past year, the only thing that I can say is, "shame on me." I won't be making that mistake again.
Perhaps that is why many of us are disillusioned? We actually fell for the Humble Pie that Keith was serving us?
After all...the pie recipe wasn't what we all thought, and now we're left with a nasty tase in our mouth!
Of course, if you believe Urban got into the marriage for the higher profile it would bring, it does not pre-suppose that its going to work in his music and career . A very non-subjective indicater would be cd sales. Doing a little quick research, according to wikipedia urbans first cd, Be Here, eventually sold 4 mill. His latest cd, Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing, at the 17th week mark of release has sold 1 mill. Can it sell another mill? Does it sell as many as his first cd? That I think would be a true indication of where he stands in his popularity with his previous fanbase.

Personally, I don't think he got into this marriage for the higher profile it would bring to his career, otherwise he would've capitalized on it - he hasn't. I think he got into this marriage because he actually did fall for her. I don't see where he has used this union once to his advantage which is why I truely believe he believes he's in love with her. He's demonstrating quite well the lengths he will go to to be with her - such as scheduling his tour so that he has 10 days off every few weeks to go and be with her. It's clear to me that he is making his relationship a priority, and skeptics can complain all they want about who does what in that relationship, what matters is that they are legitimately trying to have something.
Like her or hate her, she got herself a man who has no problem showing just how much he loves her.
