What's the deal with Nashville?

Pretty simple question isn't it? But why are the Kidman’s having the little one in Nashville? It makes one wonder what the motivation is behind that.Every move is calculated in this arrangement. Whether it is bringing a salad to a DJ or calling in to a radio interview, to being seen at a local market. The Kidman’s are Nashville. Don't forget that.

As far as the birth is concerned, there seems to be two theories going on here. They are hunkering down in Music City because Keith's career is still in free fall and he has to get it back in shape. This theory has some strength to it. Keith is not where he was in 2007 or 2006 or especially in 2005. The new rehashed single is doing okay but a song about hooking up and post rapture musings isn't something that some in Country Radio will play. Also Keith has yet again screwed up the marketing on this single. Where is the video? Where is the promised DVD? We are going to wait until fall? Why not produce a video now to get the consumer ready for the DVD? Also, doing all the radio he has been doing locally is just plain weird. He isn't even the headliner on July 5th. It is Chesney's show; he is just an opening act. So why did he do all the radio? Perhaps it’s more about the royal birth than about anything else?

Which leads to our second theory...Nashville is a small town. I lived there I know. It isn't L.A. or Sydney. It's a company town and while the music industry is important, it’s not the film industry and Hollyweird. Seems that the media may be able to be controlled a lot better from Nashville than from L.A., where the birth of the baby will be a journalist’s dream. Sydney is even worse considering the frenzy that took place when the news was announced in January about the pregnancy. So keep the birth in Nashville and control how it is reported. Why would Kidman want that? C'mon you don't need me to tell you that do you?

So the baby is born, Perez will get some kind of scoop and People will get the exclusive. They are already writing little blurbs about the power couple. Did you really care that the Kidman’s had a scone on June 25th? But Nicole wants you to know that. She also seems quite worried that we aren't getting that they are quite happily married. Keith's wife also wants you to know they are real folks. Perhaps in a freak show, but they are far from being just folks; they are however, just fakes.

Seriously, this "simple just good ol' down to earth folk" is really becoming repulsive... and of course I dont just mean physically for kidman... its just so asinine for kidman to even attempt it after the 16 previous years of the "hollywood jetset, limos and premieres and condo in NYC to monthly mansion buying media leaks"...etc... that she would actually believe people are actually going to buy it. But then again, she no doubt believes people will go to see another one of her movies. But as I once commented on before, these Nashville "trailer trash' photo ops she's now putting out are only a powerful juxaposition to the extremely photoshopped and patently phoney magazine shoots, such as the recent Vogue piece, that no doubt have people aghast at the huge difference between her pale "image" and the true reality.

The royal birth will occur in Nashville because the press can be controlled there. It'd be too inconvenient to have all those gossip reporters / paps nosing around in Sydney or LA. NK needs privacy to pull this one off.

I do think that there is a need for Keith to be visible in Nashville. He needs to be there to show that he is interested in his career. And he is supposed to have a new CD out (it should have been this fall, but it will be 2009, before it's done.). If he was in LA or Sydney, it would be even longer before he was able to get the new music out.

NK keeps him pretty busy rubbing udder butter on the surrogate's nipples and it sounds like he's pretty busy tending to NK's hemorrhoids. Who would have time for a career with those types of responsibilities?

Umyths, you seem to care Nicole had a scone because you bothered to mention it.

Its plain to see the skeptics never thought in a million years Nicole would be in Nashville this long. They never thought Nicole would have this baby in Nashville. And as each day passes the more likely it seems that will happen. Good for them. They have a new home there with plenty of room for a little one to play and grow. The skeptics just don't want to be wrong. See all the backpeddling, saying now she couldn't possibly have the child anywhere else. Too little, too late, skeptics.

imahick, im glad you think you know the timetable and whats best for Keith's career.

YLGIMS is already up to number 14 on the charts. The new DVD will bridge the gap between the latest single and the next album.

wonder what exclusive perez will get. we all know People will be pukeworthy....

Nicole, you can't say you have class. You have to show you have class. Wearing two exercise outfits, one with flip flops no less, on your anniversary - not classy.

Baby's Greatest Hits: Nicole Kidman chooses Irish flautist James Galway to help her through childbirth

Mother-to-be Nicole Kidman has planned the birth of her first child, due in the next fortnight, right down to the smallest detail.

The Oscar winner has reserved a private room at a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, lined up the finest medical care for the natural birth (she wouldn't want a c-section scar to ruin future movie nude scenes) - and even put together a compilation of music for the happy event.

The 41-year-old actress, who married country singer Keith Urban in 2006, has naturally included some of her husband's songs. (Right, like she'd recognize his music. They're probably all songs he recorded but didn't write - like Romeo's Tune, Making Memories of Us, etc.) But top of her labour list are the soothing strains of Irish flautist Sir James Galway.

A source said: 'Nicole has been putting together CDs of music to listen to during labour. She has always loved James Galway, particularly his classical albums.

'Whenever you go to her house, she has Galway on. There is one Prokofiev sonata that is her favourite.'

Sir James, 68, is considered the finest flautist of his generation. Knighted in 2001, he has recorded more than 60 albums. His most famous hit was the instrumental version of John Denver's hit Annie's Song in 1978.

Nicole already has two children, Isabella, 14, and Conor, 12, she adopted with her former husband Tom Cruise.

Holy crap...NK is using flute music to push by. Somehow, that just makes me giggle.

Of course, I don't believe any of it...but if it's true...it sure sounds like she's trying to control the whole birthing experience. If there is a pregnancy, it is the one thing she can't control (unless there's an elective C-section planned). I bet that lack of control is driving her nuts.

She can't control when this baby comes, she can't control the labor and delivery, she can't even control how long it will be. Yikes, I wouldn't want to be the baby daddy. I bet she's not a happy camper during these last few weeks.

maclen, Nashville is only "trailer trash" to those who've never been there recently or dont know its transformation. Country stars that have made it big have lived just as much a jet-set life as some of the Hollywood celebrities. Kenny's island homes, Tim and Faith's LA digs, Alan's mansion. People in Nashville dont all dress like Minnie Pearl and live on meat'n threes. And the female stars in Nashville arent strangers to photoshopped pics. Faith Hill Redbook cover anyone? We all know photos are photoshopped regardless of who's on the cover. Could be what we think is a flawless 16 year old model. Doesnt matter. She'll get the redux treatment too.

The only way Baldy having a scone would be newsworthy would be if she choked on it. Now that I would be intrested in reading. But since all she probably did is break it up in little pieces and move it around her plate so people would think she was feeding the child inside I don't give a rats ass about it. But Granny must feel that it's something the whole world needs to know since she had to call the paps and have Wendy issue a statement about it.

Paps will storm Nashvegas just as they would Sydney or LA. James Galway could be Dr K's choice - a throw back to the 70's. That is assuming Daddy'o is still delivering the little lamb?

As cj's post has already proven this myth to be true...leaking the details of the birth of the royal bumpkin.

Mission accomplished camp kidman!

imahick-it makes me giggle too! Do you think this will make it to you tube? heehee

Imahick said...

A Youtube of skankypants pushing the royal child that's inside...outside? Well, as entertaining as that sounds, it is also a heinous concept. No. Please...no youtubes of the delivery.

rememberwhen said...

If Nicole is caring this baby, I think that there will be a planned C-section. She would never go through the pain of delivery. If there is a surrogate I'm sure she has picked a date too. Regardless who is caring the baby I bet the date for delivery is July 3.

So, interestingly, angelina jolie just had her best movie opening this weekend, with $51 mil, ironically besting her previous opening high of $50 mil for mr and mrs smith, a film kidman dropped out of because of "production probelms" with stepford... a seemingly common problem for kidman lately...(so keep an eye out for kate winslet possibly having awards success with The Reader) Seems like jolies PR is now beginning to pay off, as she now eclipes jolie wannabe kidman in not only film success... but as a UN ambassador and leading in the baby PR factor 3 to 1, actually bumping kidman off the monetary magazine first baby photo bidding wars.... and for being in a far more interesting and authentic Hollywood power couple. No doubt it will have kidman frantically trying to keep up with a even more ramped up media shilling and leaking and planting frenzy. So don't be surpised to see even more of the ho hum stories of "they had lunch today!"... and "they are so happy and so much in love!"...to "kidman had a bagel with cream cheese today!" dribble coming out two fold.

notachance said...

Is it Camp Kidman interested in "planting" stories of her having a scone, or is it more the press just wanting to write whatever they can about her? Methinks UM wants us to believe the former....

I will say that the babe is being born in Nashville for two reasons - the first being that that is where their US home is, and the second (and most important) the baby is an offering to the country gods to revitalize his career.

And maclen - I do take issue with you saying "these Nashville "trailer trash' photo ops she's now putting out". Nashville is a great city, with great suburbs and great people. It's one of my favorite cities in this country, and for you to make that statement shows where you come from.

while you may be correct, i'm not so sure they won't jet back to oz for the royal birth.

i really don't think maclen (although they don't need me to defend them) meant any harm by their statement. i love nashville, too. i would love to live there.

my name is doublewide and i am always joking about eating cheetos and drinking big red soda, but i don't live in a trailer, and i don't look down on those that do.

i actually got my screen name from an NK supporter on this blog who told the skeptics to go back to their doublewides and shut up. that was basically what was said. so who's the snob?

Does anyone here watch Kathy Griffin's D-List show?? Last weeks' eqpisode she was in OZ and she brought up NK & KU - had my hub rolling on the floor.

don't believe the lies said...

Since their now in "living" Nashville...which btw, only took them a few years to actually go back to...where are they living? Do they have a house? Are they living in a hotel?

I can and then I can't believe that she will "give birth" there. (I think it would be a lovely place for the surrogate to have their kid though) He needs it to look like he's still part of the Nashville community and she needs to look like a normal, everyday person. Which she TOTALLY isn't.

I think the next month will be interesting. Once this kid is here "officially" He will be tied to the hag forever. So Sad!

Doublewide, just FYI, because I respect you... in the previous thread I commented..." "she gives the barefoot and pregnant redneck" stereotype a good run for it's money..." and the "trailer trash" comment, notice the quotations... is directed at kidman's lame and obvious one dimensional PR shilling... dont let the "I take issue", and the "I am outraged" crowd suck you into a pointless debate about "their" assumptions... I dont...

...just saw a "review" of a preview showing of Australia over at aint it cool news.com... and is trying to compare it to Titanic because it was also previewed at this same theater...(although a commenter points out that it was actually at a defunct theater not in business anymore) ...it was a gushing review of a "unfinished" movie... with music from gone with the wind... kidman is "perfect" in her role... in the end you care about the characters..blah blah... the guy even throws in a few vulgarities and has a few "and I didn't know anything about this film before" attitude... but I was tickled when about 3 or 4 commenters called out "plant!"... my favorite comment... "This review was brought to you by Planty McPlant." Let the over saturation of saturated planting and seeding for this film begin...

maclen said...

...ps...

...oh yes... is this planted review at aint it cool.com a response to Jolie's new movie's huge weekend at the box office... kinda suspicious dont you think?

Of course you won't maclen - because you might then have to defend your poorly chosen words.

As I said, shows where you come from.

So, another review of the Australia preview over at AICN.com:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/37290

... this reviewer backs up what the first planted reviewer says... only gives a long list of "spoilers"... and said it's about 3 hours long! Boy, from the descriptions, it sounds precisely like a typical kidman incoherant mess... a loooooong incoherant mess... get ready for either the reshoots or re-editing stories to begin! And again, in the comments section... the complaint about this review is that it is too incoherant! The long list of excuses for this film begins today!

I have also been wondering what is up with the Nashville stay. I can only hope that Keith finally put his foot down and demanded some respect as far as his career is concerned. It does seem as though he is putting a little more effort in to it these days. I also think the other foot went down about the paps...they are only around for some special appointments. You can't tell me that they don't know what they have been doing the past week or so we have not heard anything about them. Which brings me to my final observation...that I don't think we will see a whole lot of her from now until the baby comes. To many inconsisities in the stories being promoted for my book. How many husbands go to a lamaze class and DON'T know they are at a 'lamaze' class because simply because they don't know the terminology??? That is halrious to me...to quote"he is selling himself short, he's really good at it'...however he just does not know where he is!I suspect privacy until the royal announcement that the baby is here..by what ever means that is. Cuz, I'm still not convinced Kidman is even pregnant!

Doublewide, try this link:...

...looks like there might be a space (?) in between the link...basically kidman crying to the press about cruise again... this time she "hopes" to have cruise's kids with her during her delivery... that right there says it all about her future "parenting" skills and how it will be with this kid, I'm sure.

doublewide said...

thanks maclen...it worked

i am SO SURE she's heartbroken about not having her adopted kids at the birth.....

there's more planting going around the last few days, than i'm sure what is going on in NK's organic garden.

can ya say overkill?

maclen said...

Well, DW, you can also add to the overkill this "birthing soundtrack" story ... seeing many more of them being spread around the news nets today...there's about 5 to 6 more new sites today diseminating the "big" news... no doubt this particular news plant from the inept team kidman is a counter to the tomkat Sci-tol "silent birth" of little suri... tomkat went silent birth...so she's no doubt going to serenade hers with a "soundtrack" selection from her movies! Oh the humanity....
