Really, Keith? Artwork for the new single....

It really is going to be a long summer for Keith Urban fans... Kidman really has taken over every aspect of his career, hasn't she?

Yes, surely as I believe that the single IS NOT orb...it's only fitting that orb is not on the artwork for this plagiarized patchwork of more popular 80's songs.
Now, this just released youtube video...well firstly it is HILARIOUS...but more importantly, it is the PERFECT metaphor for orb's current tour...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwv7nS5-OmE&feature=player_embedded

Keith Urban falls off stage during first show of his Get Cl

..yep, orb has "slipped" and slid right off the stage...just as his tour apparently is slipping off the map into complete irrelivency! Love the reaction of the guitarist in front, as orb is slipping off the stage, he bends over obviously is hysterics, pretending to fiddle with his guitar! Priceless!

Well at least when he looks back at this period he can apologize and say he was too far into it to have any sense of balance.

I like the song but this is too much

Well I like the song too Tara. I don't believe that is suppose to be Moosie her feet are to small and her legs are not manly. So I would say although I'm sure Moosie would like to think it is a likeness....it isn't. And summer tan is no where near her paleness!!! ((giggles))) This song I believe is about days soooo gone bye!!! ;)

So Keith had his number 1 party in Nashville yesterday. The songwriters should be honored I understand that
however it turned into the NICOLE KIDMAN show as Keith sang Without Pew to her directly and she sat on her chair and sang along. I wonder what kind of graff he gets for his services?
The more and more I see crap like this the less I want to see him in person.

Well, this meaningless "chart" rigged country song IS the ONLY thing orb has to celebrate...one that he hasnt celebrated it appears for 2 years! Orb is too dense or simply clueless that placing kidman front and center on his music is a PR killer. And again, if he couldnt see it reflected in this lousy cd sales...and doesnt see it now with his paltry and pathetic concert audiences...he obviously will NEVER see it. And that just makes my chronicling his decline THAT MUCH easier!

Hang this on for size......He got a ring with the children's birthstones instead of a plaque like everyone else gets. Now tell me Hagmaw didn't buy all the attention she got!! ((giggles))

You know what stood out in my mind? The fact that he got a key chain for Father's Day with only one child's name included. Now I guess Maggie don't mean squat. Yet if we understand this correctly, the people that order these awards knew enough to put TWO birthstones on that ring. So a bunch of strangers remember there are TWO children in that family!!

She keeps this crap up and she will lose the only PR she has going for her. KU is on the threshold of losing his career totally. And she is just pushing him through the door.

I hope KU enjoys his retirement. It is just around the bend thanks to jerk face Moosie girl!!!!

So, the orb's very lackluster tour re-commences tonight in South Carolina. And my question tonight is...is there ANY significance to the fact that in the only "celebration" orb has had for a country single #1 in two years and the press releases of the party, there seems to be NOT ONE mention of orb's tour. And this story late tonight...a "promo interview" from a Charlotte site...released online about 5 hours AFTER orb's gig in SOuth Carolina...(so much for "timely" promo for the show) seems to be an article of "obvious" info...quite different from the ridiculous HYPE orb has been doleing out...

"In case you were wondering, Nicole Kidman will not be in Charlotte tonight when her husband, Keith Urban, performs a concert at Time Warner Cable Arena. The Academy Award-winning actress won't be in Raleigh for his concert Saturday, either."

...yes, it's QUITE obvious to any lucid undelusional observer that kidman DOES NOT dig orb's concerts! So this IS the source of undeniable obviousness.

"Q. Your concerts also are often said to have a "rock concert" feel to them. What's your reaction when you hear that?

I think Kenny Chesney would get those comments, too; Tim McGraw would get those comments, too; Rascal Flatts gets those comments, too."

...yeah, so the orb ADMITS his show, unlike the ridiculous hype that's been spewed the weeks prior...IS NOT ANYTHING NEW! I've been saying that for the past few weeks...seems orb, in the mediocre first few shows...is now trying to "tone down" the tripe.

"Q. What's a classic song that stands out to you as one that has a legendary guitar solo on it?

"Another Brick in the Wall," that's probably my favorite guitar tone and solo of all time. The entire outro of "Tunnel of Love" by Dire Straits. Mark (Knopfler) was the first one I heard that loved these kind of "Part II" solo outros, a little bit like the back end of "Layla" by Clapton, where it was sort of like Part II would kick in and there'd be all this beautiful guitar outro."

...and again, guitar solo "influences" are "Pink floyd".... knopfler of "Dire Straits..."Layla" by Clapton...another "obvious" indication that orb is so clearly flunking out in COUNTRY... because he aint very country! Long HOt Summer is NOT country...it's 80's rock. That's why he's LOSING his audience in massive increments of half...and quite hilariously...he will never make the grade to become a legendary "rock" quitarist...BUT he can "pretend" to be in country! HA!

maclen said...

...oh yeah...I almost forgot...'

..so orb performed at the colonial life arena in SC earlier tonight...will there be any MORE true reviews that may mention how many EMPTY SEATS and bored audience members texting or making a run for a bathrooms at the show...OR will there simply be "press releases" written by the concert "photographer" who was "blown away by orb's awesomeness and who was truly FREAKED OUT when orb UNEXPECTEDLY ran out into the audience and gave away his quitar? Because, as we all know, that is all part of the "NEW PRODUCTION!"

Hatti said...

Well maclen I just don't understand it. Moosie is not working is she?? So why is she not with the one she saved just so she would have a red carpet partner!! ((giggles))

Well, it's been about 20 hours, Eastern time, since orb played in South Carolina...and as of yet...STILL NO online review posted. Will there EVEN be a gushing ass kissing "review" from the "photographer?" Not to surprising to me...as orb is no doubt in "cover up" mode for the lack of bodies showing up to his gigs. That indication immediately showed in orb's first two gigs...and is NOTICABLY lacking in the last 3! As this...courtesy of the "last orb fansie in the world"...who has posted NO LESS than 44 bloody twits of orb's show last night...as well as this VERY interesting one...

From bandmember Danny's twitter

"dannyrader: Great crowd tonight in Columbia. Charlotte, you're gonna have to step up tomorrow!!"

...yeah, no doubt a DESPERATE plea from a bandmember...PLEASE BUY TICKETS CHARLOTTE!
But, EVENTUALLY...the numbers will be revealed...the average of orb's crowds will show in Pollstar's end of year tour gross report. That is, IF orb even makes that list!
As I previously noted, in 2009 orb averaged 10,000 per venue...and grossed $42mil. But I've certainly had a suspicion that orb WOULD NOT do as well as 2 years ago. I would hazzard to hypothesis that not only will his attendence be down, but his final gross...his total tickets sold...his per venue take...will all BE DOWN...which is one thing that is CONSTANT with orb...decline. It will certainly be interesting what orb's per gig revenue will be this year...for in 2009 that number averaged $712k per venue...can orb EVEN come close to that number this year?

Hatti said...

maclen...If this tour is a failure can it turn out to look successful?

How are attendance stats recorded? Can they be misleading on purpose.

Is there a way to look like it's a full house when it isn't?

We can see the seats are empty but at the end of it all will what we see reflect in the stats?

Well Hatti, we of course know not to fall for their PR BS, right? We will NEVER bite when orb makes the asinine statement...and then kidman repeats it...that she would "travel" with him "on the road" and perhaps she will even "write a screenplay" "while on the road." Now of course, the FULL ON cool aid drinking... hardcore orb fansie's who have remained faithful will lap it up like it was free dripping hot fudge out of a spigot without a single thought to whether it is in fact the truth. They will simply... and in unison breathlessly exclaim, "AHHHHH." But clearly there have been many a former fansie who have bailed on orb...and there is no doubt many who are now on the fence over stuff like this. And THAT IS why I am constantly REPEATING alot of this stuff...ad nauseum! For if any of those on the fence ever find their way onto this comment board...I want to make sure they get just an explaination of what is really happening. Just as you just pointed out, Hatti...orb attends EVERY award show for kidman...walks EVERY red carpet and attends EVERY premiere for her...and now here's an online article ANNOUNCING kidman WILL NOT BE at orb's first weeks shows. And no doubt will only be at her usual "handful" of shows. And that, I believe, is JUST ONE reason alot of his former fansies have deserted the orb.

Well, hoosier...sorry to say, but I dont think that it will! Clearly orb is in "nostalgia" mode. He needs him some "appeal"...something he is either oblivious or simply unable to realize that he is NOT getting it from his bland and dull marriage. Orb is clearly now trying to get appeal by what I refer it as...and that is "subliminally!" You may notice it when you may be busy doing something while at home...and your tv is on..and then suddenly you hear the recognizable strumming of The Romantics' "What I like about You"...or the very catchy chorus of Blondie's "One Way or Another" and your attention is immediately pulled away from whatever chore you may be doing...and it's now on your tv...where they then proceed to hawk their...back bacon or their latest hair dryer! Orb is MOST CERTAINLY engaging that rather crass and cynically misleading commercial tactic. His summer single, Long Hot Summer is about 4 VERY recognizable melodies and lyrical "samplings" that many people will IMMEDIATELY sense...react to... and no doubt have very warm feelings for! That 80's nostalgic vibe is clearly courtesey of that 80's hasbeen, richard marx...and just to reiterate...THERE IS NOT ONE Country influence to it. And that is what I am questioning about the song...how will Country radio stations react to it? Now I totally understand that many will like the song...but what is it's standing in COuntry? Will it be taken as I've read reba mcentires cover of beyonce's "If I were a boy" was treated by country stations? Not very favorable from what Ive read. Well, it remains to be seen.

Well Hatti...I would simply start by saying...dont believe the hype! If in fact you believe that what YOU percieve are the facts to be true. Just as I most certainly did not believe the boot.com when they claimed in a very frivolous posting that orb's OZ tour was a COMPLETE success because THEY claimed EVERY show was a sellout! Then, Billboard.com released data for the grosses for a few acts in Oz included orb...and they claimed 2 of orb's shows in Brisbane WERE NOT sellouts...I MOST certainly will take the word of the decades old Billboard stat crunchers over a country blog who's sole purpose is to shamelessly shill country acts simply for the "access" they can get from it. As is obvious, the stats I'm using for orb's 2009 tour are from pollstar.com...and they track live concerts year round. So, for my money, they are the only game in town from what I can see. They get there numbers from the venues and arenas themselves. And just as simply as the orb's decline in cd sales can simply be gauged by the sales reports from the main cd sales trackers...Soundscan...which I get from Roughstock.com...who get their numbers from Soundscan...surely orb's "failure" or "success" can be seen by the simple comparison of the past numbers...and the current numbers. Now, already Ive revealed that orb's first gig in 2009 attracted 15,000 people...this years first gig only attracted 7,000. Just because orb is preventing the numbers from being reported right now by music critics... apparently by what I suspect is barring those critics from either attending or writing about the show...doesnt mean that they wont be released eventually.

maclen said...

...post traumatic...

...well, HERE IS a very observant...and obviously not a "handled" reviewer of the Charlotte gig...BUT...again NO attendence numbers...BUT no hype about a sellout either, so take what you will from that. BUT also take note...it's a "culture writer" NOT THE PHOTOGRAPHER! HA! Now quotes...

Urban has his crowd-pleasing routine down pat

By Théoden Janes
Pop Culture Writer
Posted: Saturday, Jun. 25, 2011

"Keith Urban does pretty much the same show city after city, tour after tour, year after year.

On Friday night at Time Warner Cable Arena, he put on - with a few exceptions - a concert that looked and felt a lot like the one he performed in the same venue almost exactly two years ago.

Yep...that pretty much says it all... moving on...

"The 43-year-old country star interspersed his many chart-topping country hits with a few new cuts, as usual. He waded through an ecstatic crowd to a tiny stage about 20 rows back and shouted the same exact words he uttered here in 2009: "Who's got the good seats now??"
"And toward the end of the evening, he forged a path up into the lower level to sing part of a song, then suddenly signed his guitar and handed it to a stunned fan. (Urban did this last time in Charlotte, and best I can tell does it every single show.)

...aye curumba...reading that from SOMEONE ELSE just gives me a true sense of how mundane and monotonous it truly is! But, as I truly believe, simply reading it IS NOTHING to how those "fansie's in a poke" must really be finding it excruciatingly mundane and monotonous after spending their own hard earned cash to SEE AND HEAR IT...over and over and over again!

"If it sounds like I'm complaining, I'm not. It's a winning formula, and the man obviously doesn't want to mess with something that works."

...well, this guy obviously will only go to this gig...and not be going to multiple shows as some of orb's fansie's do. And it is at these times I miss not being able to read the monkeyland message board as in the past...where I noticed ALOT of complaints about the hardly ever changing setlist...and now with the mundane routine of orb's "robotic" antics...those complaints by multiple concert goers must really be deafening! Or more than likely NOT...as I would surmiss...alot of those fansie's are NO LONGER GOING TO MULTIPLE SHOWS!

Well, I would actually wager, hoosier...that IF orb threw a pig on the pit...he would get many a Country buyer...MMMmmm honey roasted pork...crispy bacon...AHHHH~ BUT...orb is more akin to...throwing a "peacock"... flowing and colorful feathers right along on the grill and offering it as a "country" delicacy. How well would "peacock hind quarters" sell in the country market? Put you in a song was considered by the monkey's "urbananalysis" as ultra "catchy and upbeat"...a surefire #1 country single...IT WASNT. Without You was considered by the fansies to be MORE country sounding...but the "urbanalysis" didnt consider it "commercial or catchy" enough and predicted at least a #4 single on the country chart. It reached #1. Another important factor to those songs..."PUt you in a song" was co-written by orb..."Without you" is non-orb penned. Long Hot summer is co-written by orb with marx...and I certainly dont see a country vibe to it...so I see factors that MAY be in play shows orb does not have a COUNTRY "green thumb!" He has dilluted his brand to a weak and impotent brand of sugar water. His "new Coke" didnt catch on...and his "classic coke" was never his own brand. So people should just go out and buy The Police's greatest hits cd!

Well, clearly orb is wrapped up to his chiney chin chin with Ticketmaster's "ticketscalping" schemes, Hatti. There can be only so much behind the scenes "swindling" that I'm sure they want to engage in that would throw out TOO MANY red flags! It's clear to me that the facts of the first gig as revealed by the SunHerald a few days before the gig in Mississippi that 8000 were expected...and AFTER the show they revealed "about 7000 showed" and that it was "just under a sellout"...CLEARLY shows that ONLY 8000 tickets were put up for sale. And as was posted the capacity in the Coast Coliseum is max at 15,000. So, I believe EVEN if 7000 tickets were actually sold and the remaing 1000 empty seats were STILL paid for by kidman...orb will still be way below his 2009 ticket sales and would therefore still be way down in comparison. THAT'S ALL I am watching for...NOT whether orb or his media press releasers are claiming they are selling every venue out! For obviously, it is still a business venture...and there has to be a true demand for the product. And it is clear that orb...and LN and ticketmaster alike realized he CANNOT sell out the full 15k to 20k capacity arenas. And if it WERE true that kidman would simply "buy" up the unsold balance of tickets...just for publicity's sake, they would most certainly offer up the full 15k batch of tickets for the max profits possible. You know what I mean? That is my take on it. I still believe in the end orb is not going to do that well in this tour. I use to make the statement that the reason the orb's singles still did pretty well... well, up until recently anyways...is that the monkeys had a organized campaign over at the monkeysite...where they could simply "robo-call" the radio stations or they could 'toss their cookies" on online polls and get their results. BUT one thing THEY HAD NO control over was cd sales...because that is a much trickier task! They could not simply organize and BUY 100,000 cds to get his previous cd to platinum sales! And that is why the monkeys ONLY discuss his singles performances...and never mention how his cd is SELLING. But the monkeys NO LONGER have the numbers to get his singles all to #1...as I mentioned earlier....Without you is orb's first #1... in two years! And they no longer have the numbers to get orb EVERY online poll award any longer. Likewise, I dont think they have the numbers to make his tour as successful as his tour two years ago.

So, another update on orb's tour...seeing as there is scarce postings of reviews or columns on google...so again, courtesy of the "last orb fansie in the world" over at E!...this "review"...which does reveal some interesting info...

http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2lkBUm/www.urbancountrynews.com/concert-review-keith-urban-charlotte-nc-june-24-2011/

Concert Review: Keith Urban, Jake Owen – Charlotte, NC June 24, 2011

Opening act, Jake Owen, struggled a bit to get the crowd going and although the arena had not yet filled when he began, the crowd seemed split on giving him their attention and energy.

...yes...BIG SURPRISE...newcomer jake owen is having "troubles" exciting or energizing the crowds!?

"After slightly admonishing the crowd by reminding them it was “a Friday night” and that he traveled all the way from Florida to be here (although the previous night he was in Columbia, SC) he encouraged everyone to get out of their seats."

...yes, the "impression" the opening act is "admonishing" the crowd because they are not very excited...about the opening act...is NEVER a good thing!

"While I like Jake’s music, something just didn’t translate well last night as I had hoped. The sound seemed to be off (muffled) and it was difficult to make out a lot of his words and there just seemed to be a slight “disconnect” between artist and crowd.
Speculating on the reasons would do no good, but suffice to say, the majority of his set did not “energize” the vast majority. However, the last 3-4 songs, including his hit, ‘Don’t Think I Can’t Love You’, did get the crowd fully engaged."

..OH YEAH, "speculating" on why the opening act cannot connect or engage the crowd is beyond the usefulness of a concert reviewer! Imagine, EVEN back in 2009...that swifty WOULD NOT have had her legions of fansies packing out the joint from the very beginning of her opening set! Ha! So, always question a "reviewer" who's philosophy seems to be..."If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all!" But at least this reviewer has revealed what I MOST CERTAINLY expected from such a low profile opening act. He doesnt even have a crowd in full attendence at show time...and surely doesnt have the stature to help an already declining orb draw in ticket buyers.

maclen said...

...post undeniable scripture...

...almost overlooked this quote...

"And yes…Keith still goes out into the crowd -with throngs of fans groping, reaching and gasping for air and a glimpse of him as he passes – to perform part of this song, sign his guitar and give to an unsuspecting fan. Yes, he has done this on his previous tour and has done it at each show so far on this tour, but it still is brand new each night to those around him and to the lucky recipient. I hope he continues this for as long as possible. It works!"

...SO...you think perhaps my little soliloquies on the orb's rather mundane and OFTEN repeated gimmicks hasnt gotten out to ever listening ears?! BUT IT WORKS? Well, we shall see about that.

Yeah, your right Tara...obviously it was staged. And part of the "set up" was that article I posted 2 days ago..which SPECIFICALLY" stated...

"In case you were wondering, Nicole Kidman will not be in Charlotte tonight when her husband, Keith Urban, performs a concert at Time Warner Cable Arena. The Academy Award-winning actress won't be in Raleigh for his concert Saturday, either."

Now I do expect her to put her money where her mouth is and step up to the plate she and KU have been dishing......you know the family under the awning of the bus listening to his 80's boombox and the barbi going. The kids should surely be in the kiddie pool to round out the ambience!

Yeah Hatti, I agree IF there is no photographic or video proof...then it is simply their PR BS. And it wouldnt be the first time. I noted they did that back in 2009 when orb's tour headed to Canada. He played up the fact that it would be a real "family affair"...kidman and his kid would be on the bus traveling etc. Then the day of the first gig, there was a "report" in local media that orb and kidman were "spotted" at a local zoo...but no photos. I read in a review of that show that orb had "announced" from the stage that kidman "was in the house"... but the reviewer commented that he did not see her. It wasnt until about 3 days later that the first photo of kidman exiting her hotel in canada was released. Then, it was only a few days later she jetted off to NY and was then photog'ed at a U2 concert the very same day orb played another gig in Canada. So I wouldnt at all be suprised if it was simply PR BS...so we shall see.

maclen said...

...par for the course...

...hey Hatti, about this whole "kidman surprised orb in Raleigh for their anniversery' tripe MAY just have been a desperate attempt by the fansies to try and drum up some buzz for kidman. If you noticed, the "last orb fansie in the world" over at E! has a MULTITUDE of twits...some claiming to have seen kidman at the show in Ralaigh. Well, now the "last orb fansie in the world" is claiming a day later they are in LA...based on this twit...

"nischelleturner: Great people watching day at the Polo Lounge! Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban...she is flawless! Yummy brunch! Stuffed! GOod food & great convo."

...although, in that charlotteobserver.com article that mentioned that kidman would NOT BE in Ralaigh on their anniversary...orb is quoted as saying...

"Instead, though, Urban says, "I'm actually flying home (to Nashville) straight after that (Raleigh) show, literally. I mean, come offstage, go straight to the airport, fly home. So we'll have our celebration the next day."

...so basically, if kidman had "surprised" orb in Raleigh, they may have then simply flown to LA...to which I would expect to see a new photo op of kidman and orb arriving at LAX over at JJ or GG considering the occasion...or she DID NOT go to Raleigh and orb may have then flown straight to Nashville. So which is it? Well, we will basically see JUST HOW reliable those twits actually are.

Tara said...

If she was there and sitting where the crowd can see her lets see a picture.

I always find it interesting that the minute he goes on the road she is in LA.

Why isn't the single on radio? I heard it once and then nada.

maclen said...

Yeah, so 2 days later and nothing about the "anniversary surprise' from any independant media source. More than likely, it was simply twitter PR BS engaged by kidman's desperate fansies. In fact, there is NOTHING AT ALL concerning the Raleigh show! So, as I surmissed, either orb clamped down on the proper reviews that would reveal orb's pitiful tour attendence...or the tour's pitiful attendences have left media critics with little excitement over orb's shows! As I posted earlier...the "elite" country acts currently on tour...

Even in the rain, Swift shines
June 26, 2011 01:12 PM

"But last night, for the first of two sold-out concerts (it repeats tonight), Swift returned as a more competent performer better equipped to balance her show’s theatrics with a steady focus on her singing."
"If you’re shocked that she sold out Gillette twice – for a total of more than 100,000 fans ..."

Chesney still entertains with his brand of cowboy cool

Visuals overwhelm vocals in Paisley's sold-out show

"The latter featured just Paisley's voice and an acoustic guitar, giving the capacity audience of 24,000 a rare chance to hear the headliner at full strength."

...when country acts draw some pretty impressive numbers to their shows...they PLAY it up in reviews or press releases...it's a SELLING point of the tour...but orb seems to have banished that from his tour press. So, with swifty SELLING OUT the Gillete twice at 50k...and it seems chesney is also headed there for two shows as well...IT IS no surprise that orb WILL NOT be playing Gillete Stadium this year!

Well everyone, I guess she is afraid she actually may have to show her face at his hill billy concerts!! So there is an article on JJ that she may be acting in a movie. Of course she had quite a few movies she was suppose to be doing. But nothing!!!((giggles)
She may have a chance with this one since everyone dropped out already!! ((giggles))))))

I think she is really afraid of being forced to go out on the road with the only WORKING MEMBER OF THE BUNCH!! ((giggles)))

What's the matter Moosie are you afraid all your adoring fans will come out and never let you leave? ((giggles)) Don't worry just sing you will clear the house!! ;)

Hatti said...

Gee was it something I said?? Moosie girl picked up the kids the nannies and ran for Oz!! ((giggles))

All I said was, it would be nice to see the family under the awning of the bus having a good time!!

I did mention that she is NOT WORKING so she should be at his shows every show!!!

WAS THAT TO MUCH TO ASK??? ((giggles)))))))

Yes, Hatti...it seems the PR BS MAY be getting a bit HIGH this upcoming week! This was posted over at CMT.com a few hours ago...

Keith Urban Wants Fans to Get Closer on New Tour
June 27, 2011

"Is your family able to come out and spend time with you so you don't get too lonely?

"I don't go out for weeks and weeks at a time. I go out for maybe two or three shows in a row -- maybe even four in a row -- then I'll go home for a day or two days. Even if it's a day, I'll go home and then come back out on the road."

...and just a few minutes ago this report was posted...

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertainment/confidential/nicole-kidman-arrives-in-sydney-for-birthday-and-anniversary-celebrations-with-sister-antonia/story-e6fredq3-1226083520020

Nicole Kidman arrives in Sydney for birthday and anniversary celebrations with sister Antonia
June 28, 2011 2:01PM

"NICOLE Kidman flew home to Australia this morning with her two youngest daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, in tow.

Within hours, Kidman's sister Antonia, home from Singapore with her brood of five, arrived at Kidman's Milson's Point apartment for a family reunion."

"It is believed to be the first time all of the cousins have met six-month-old Faith - who is on her first visit to Australia. Her father country singer Keith Urban has not joined the family on the trip.

"Kidman is expected to remain in Sydney for a week."

...so, if this report turns out to be true...then kidman is expected to spend a week in OZ...and unless orb, who has another gig in 3 days...ends up catching the red eye into OZ for a few days...they will ONCE again spend MORE than 4 days apart! I mention "once again" because that ridiculous claim orb keeps repeating that he "scheduled" this tour so he WOULDNT spend more than at most 4 days away from the "family" was ALREADY disproved when orb flew off to OZ back in april on the OZ leg of his tour and was away for 12 days! Now it seems it once again MAY be blown as kidman hightails it to OZ without the orb... and maybe for a week...stay tuned...

Oh yes maclen...What tangled webs you know. They get caught in lie after lie. No one cares enough to even challenge all the falsehoods they do and say.

Their careers reflect all the fabrication. People are gravitating to honest performers. These phonies may be in the media but they are not the ones that people faithfully follow. As we can see by both their careers!!!

Actually I believe nine out of ten people are sick to death of Moosie girl and company!!!!

It's because, Hatti, they simply engage with the outlets that are going to simply let them plug their dreck! You know that Ellen or oprah ARE NOT going to bring any of it up. They give the country sites...like the boot.com... PR interviews that repeat all these idiotically untrue statements. It is ONLY on independent blogs like this one...where true opinion and independent thought bring up these points for people to see and mull over. And yes, I sometimes feel complete satisfaction of what I'm "pontificating' here on this comment thread is getting out there and making a difference. It's NOT always correct, but when you're also engaging in speculation, which I readily admit I am doing, that of course will happen. But then, even the "last fansie in the world" over at E!...who is simply posting articles and photos simply for there pointless "PR value"...is ALSO posting patently UNTRUE twit postings! So when i read this this article this morning...it gave me a huge laugh of satisfaction...because NO ONE has made more of a issue of this than I...

Music: Keith Urban gets 'Closer' to audience on new tour

Q: You raised a lot of money recently for golfer Tiger Woods' foundation. What did Nicole say about you going and hanging out with Tiger?

A: First off, I wasn't hanging out with Tiger. I was performing with John Mayer at his event ("Tiger Jam 2011") and raising money for some great charities. A lot of people had said, "Do you guys really think you should do this?" This event isn't about Tiger, it's about the charities we raise money for and they're in need of it as much as they ever were, so I had no hesitation about being a part of it."

...so in a sea of mindless and vapid kidman photo ops in OZ...orb has gotten ONE single PR note...and it includes actually being pressed about his stupidity! Does orb sound "defensive" or what?! Sounds like SOMEONE has been reading these opinion blogs. And although orb clearly is too dense to probably see it...it is stuff like this that is the reason he is now playing to pretty pathetic crowds. He played to a VERY pathetic crowd at Tiger's jam...and he will no doubt continue to play to pathetic crowds!

maclen said...

...and speaking of the "last orb fansie in the world"...according to this fansie...the orb just played the SHRM conference...ONCE AGAIN! Recall orb played that conference just two months ago.

http://www.shrm.org/about/news/Pages/KeithUrbanAtAnnual.aspx

Keith Urban to Perform at SHRM Annual Conference
4/18/2011

Seems orb is desperate for another "corporate" payday! I imagine orb has a plethora of these "paydays" setup. Considering how his tour is turning out...the "suppliments" to his income this year are quite clearly necessary!

Hatti said...

Well maclen.... I do understand what KU was saying. He was doing it for charity sake not b/c of Tiger.

My opinion is, whatever we can do to help the less fortunate that is ok.

I was surprised they couldn't get other performers to do this (like think outside the politically correct box).

Now JM ( sleazy reputation aside) did step up to the plate. Why? B/c they genuinely like playing together. The problem was it looked like three sleaze bags got together to have a charity blast!! That is the shame of it.

Years ago it would have been funny and we would have past it by. Today b/c of you he is hooked to it's not so funny!!

maclen said...

So...WITHOUT hesitation...this weeks numbers...

http://www.roughstock.com/blog/outlaws-like-justin-moore-make-him-number-one

Jason Aldean My Kinda Party 39,871

Zac Brown Band You Get What You Give 16,539

Taylor Swift Speak Now 15,618

Lady Anthebellum Need You Now 9,037

Rascal Flatts Nothing Like This 9,008

orb- Get Closer 3,040

...so, one week INTO orb's tour beginning...the reports of a 7k audience...reports of empty seats...and now the lack of reviews or attendance numbers...the orb sells 3,040 cds...747 LESS cds than the previous week. It's not bad enough that the tour is, not unpredictably, a real dud...but his cd sales...ALSO not unpredictably...will not get any kind of meaningful bump! Last week, the roughstock sales reporter proclaimed that "Long Hot Summer" would NO DOUBT carry orb's cd to most certain "platinum" status. Well lets see, one week into his tour and the single having just been released...the orb cd is STILL selling only 3k cds a week. So, yes once again, let me reiterate...and repeat...at that rate, by the end of the year...6 months time...24 weeks...orb will sell 72,000 more cds. And that would ONLY make it 324,000 more cds to make "platinum!" Which again, would mean orb will reach that million cds mark in just under 3 more years!

Hatti said...
"Well maclen.... I do understand what KU was saying. He was doing it for charity sake not b/c of Tiger.

Yeah, I agree with that Hatti. All charity is noble...I give to charity. But that is besides the point of what I am specifically talking about. I'm talking about orbs' career...and not whether I think orb is a "good guy" or not. I'm speaking predominanatly of his PR tactics. Whether or not people may "admire" orb because they believe he is simply being "loyal" to the napalm because he may truly like him... DESPITE his obvious misogynistic and racist beliefs...for me, it was too out of line and not defensible in my mind. But that is simply my opinion of that whole issue with the napalm. But what I am speaking to is that orb's "professional" relationship with the napalm is a PR loser. Just as orb's decision to play the tiger jam simply lowers orb to pretty pitiful results of this years tiger jam. And those results are orb and napalm played to crowd of 6,200 in a 12k capacity arena...and only raised $750k as opposed to over $1mil the previous jam. Yeah, $750k is a HUGE amount for the charity...BUT...because of tiger's public shame...they were no doubt robbed of another $250k because of it. And orb is foolishly attaching himself to Tiger's...AND napalm's shame. Dont even get me started on the pathetic debacle of the "gil co-opted" "All for the Hall" benefit which I most snidely refer to as the "BENEFIT FOR ORB! It is just not a good career move. And in my opinion....orb COULD be alot smarter and choose a ...shall we say...a less shady pack of rats to associate with and still do good deeds at the same time!

Hatti said...

Yes I felt the same way. I don't think it was good PR. Tiger..JM..and KU don't do well for KU's reputation.

I discounted that figuring no one else was going to step up to the plate. So KU did and JM seems to be strange but he seems to have a good following. They both play well together.

You know maclen in KU's day he was considered country's bad boy. He was a womanizer and a party boy. So I kind of snicker thnking he could ruin his reputation being at a show with JM and helping Tiger!! ((giggles)))

Believe me he had no problem packing the house when he was the bad boy either! :D

Music: Keith Urban gets 'Closer' to audience on new tour
First Posted: June 29, 2011

...it's a "rehash" interview I just commented on regarding tiger woods. AND...the next 20 articles are about kidman being in OZ with the kids or some other kidman news...AND NOTHING about orb's next gig...which IS tonight (last night)...or his expected audience! And AGAIN...if there was anything of note to be discussed about orb's tour...it would be put out there. BUT there IS NOTHING of note...so there isnt!

...so heres an actual review of orb's show last night...

http://www.stltoday.com/entertainment/music/reviews/article_421eebc0-a331-11e0-97aa-001a4bcf6878.html

Urban's guitar work stands out in energetic performance

"Toward the end of his concert Wednesday night at Scottrade Center, Keith Urban let members of his band step forward and sing snippets of favorite songs by rock heavyweights U2, Tom Petty and AC/DC. Urban's own choice in the bit turned out to be the only pure country moment of the night: Waylon Jennings' "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?"

"The answer to that musical question is pretty obvious: He did not."

"The bulk of Urban's flashy, energetic two-and-a-quarter hour show opted for rock and pop textures over twang; it was more Bon Jovi than, say, Billy Joe Shaver."

...I'd certainly say this reviewer was VERY underwhelmed by "bon jovi jr's" "one dimensional" show. Once again they got the tiresome, "Who's got the good seats now?"...the rather lame "karoake" singalong. Again, would be slightly a different story if these gimmicks were simply being done ONLY this tour...but this is ALL from his 2009 tour. "Bon jovi jr's" fansie's are WELL aware of this monotonous stuff. And again, the fansies MUST have stayed away in droves...NO mention of a "sellout" or the estimated audience numbers. Well, AT LEAST "bon jovi jr's" guitar strumming was "energetic!"

Ha! This is hilarity! But first a correction...a few comments ago I said that orb had ALREADY played at a SHRM conference back in April. That was wrong...it was simply ANNOUNCED back in april that orb would play this conference in late june. But I still expect MORE corporate paydays before this year is done!
Now back to the hilarity! Apparently, the "last orb fansie in the world" is claiming...THAT ORB IS CLAIMING...that he played to 12k persons at the conference!

http://boards.eonline.com/Insider/Boards/thread.jspa?messageID=3111382#3111382

"And more on Keith's BSE from yesterday. The LHS video will be shot Friday (tomorrow) and then he'll be flying to Australia to meet up with his family. He also said there were 12,000 in attendance at the SHRM gig.

OH REALLY!? Of course there is NO OTHER source claiming this...NO independance review stating that number. The SHRM website MAKES NO reference to orb's gig at the conference...ORB SAID SO...so it must be true right? Well, take a look this "rare" review...

Urban Rocks i wireless Center
Posted: Thursday, June 30, 2011
"With a dynamite technical show and Urban's sizzling guitar playing, a crowd of 8,000 was sent into the stratosphere. It was a country show with a rock-concert vibe and mentality."

...8,000? Well...at least it aint 7,000 huh!? HA! Now here is orb now CLEARLY making excuses for his low attendance numbers...

"During the encore, Urban sincerely thanked audience members for buying the tickets, recognizing the tough economic times.
"It's not as easy to go out and do the things you used to do," he said."

How pathetic when orb HAS TO PANDER specifically to his audience about low ticket sales! Yeah, orb... I KNOW your having troubles selling tickets...but dude...try to keep some diginity! OH yeah, it's tough ecomonic times? Tell that to swifty, chesney...

I was at the show last night and I was told that it was the best attendance he has had so far on the tour. Only a few sections at the tippy top weren't full and he did a fine job.
It was hot and people were kept out of the arena until almost 40 minutes until show time- lots of drinking inside

I don't like the videos running during the songs.
I don't like the covers spliced with videos- Jeans on was the only one that was exciting and there was no video.
The stage set up is an accident waiting to happen and the little stage should be further out on the floor and lose the rotating chair.
I would dump Georgia Woods- it doesn't work. The sing off for Kiss a girl is too long- and a kid won. I would add the songs Luxury of Knowing and Shut out the lights.
There was no Kidman embellishment on Without Pew- he sang it with the audience as if it were about them- that was nice.
His voice is in fine shape and he sang a lot. The light show was pretty good and used in a sparing way.
The guitar give away I am okay with it - the lady that got it last night was really overcome with it.

and yes it might sound as if he were pandering but if it were he is a better actor than I thought it came off as a very sincere and humble statement and the man does like to play for people and he had the crowd to do it last night.

Will I see him again this tour?
Probably not. Jake Owen wasn't that terrific and some of Keith's older and stronger material is missing and it shows.
my rating out of 10 a very strong 8.5

maclen, I don't believe it was 8,000 I don't believe he has had more than 5,000 if truth be told. I don't think we will ever see the true numbers. Moosie will throw her money around to make it look like there were way more people. That is why the numbers aren't coming out.

The way it looks to me. I anyone ever thought that this so called marriage was in KU's best interest? Well I guess they can eat crow!! Cause advertising his ode to Moosie for months before the tour and putting a Moosie likeness on his cover has done nothing at all for his ticket sales. It just pulled him further down the dunny!!

Yeah Tara, I have NO DOUBT the orb fans who chose to go to his shows will like it... they're still devoted fans. And seeing as the only "reported" attendance numbers so far are 7,000 and 8,000...and even if those numbers ARE sustained for the rest of the tour, he will still fall short of his 2009 numbers where his AVERAGE audiences was 10,000. And I dont believe he WILL sustain the numbers. His YEARS old gimmicks will no doubt lose MANY repeat customers by midway. I am well aware that each reviewer of each visited city MAY or MAY NOT be aware that orb has repeated those gimmicks for the past few years...and in fact one reviewer did point that out...I posted it here. But it ISNT really relevent whether they point it out or not...what IS RELEVENT is that I'm sure orbs fans are well aware that he is re-repeating gimmicks and that many will not...and are not coming back for more. The orb specifically making comments about "thanking the audience for BUYING the tickets"..."bad economic times" and "it's not as easy to go out and do the things you used to do" is a direct result of his low attendance numbers...which I've been speaking to since the very first show. He is specifically acknowledging his low numbers.

Oh yeah, I agree Hatti. We can only go by what is being "reported" by independant sources. And yes, considering that there are such few numbers being quoted, so far only two shows...says to me there is simply an attempt to keep them out of the reviews. Now I think orb is simply resigned to his low numbers, and that is why he made it a point to address it last night in Moline...the numbers ARE PITIFUL! It will probably become a regular feature at his shows.

So, as I "assume" that if the hubbub being peddled by orb at his "BSE"...along with the nonsense that he played to "12k" at the SHRM conference...that he will be shooting the video for his new single today, friday...and he will then "fly out" to OZ to be with his "beloved" family. You know the one he claims he WONT be apart from for at least 3 days or at most 4 days BECAUSE that's how he scheduled his tour? So, even if he was to fly into oz on Saturday...US time...he will have officially apart from the beloved family for 5 days. Now of course, it is EXPECTED that there will be the pomp and circumstances...the MEDIA photo op blitz that kidman and the kids got when they touched down in OZ, right? Or will orb NOT merit the attention from JJ or GG...or the Daily Mail...documenting his EVERY MOVE as he lands in OZ that kidman and the kids got...AND are continuing to get. As of course, we all recall how orb's return to the US after his 12 day seperation from his "beloved" family during his OZ tour was SOOOO thouroughly covered by one single obsure papparatz photo website...where instead of touching down in SFO...where his "beloved" family were physically residing...he landed and exited from LAX...to where, was also "thoroughly" covered that not even the fansie knew where he jetted off to. And the only "proof" of his going to SF was the EVER SO reliable fansie "twit" posters! So come tommorow we can ALL be enlightened by the
EXPECTED and predictable photo ops of the eager orb being reunited with his "beloved" family in OZ...which I must reiterate...WILL STILL BE 5 days later...and therefore in violation of orb's "family" dedication PR BS. And that would be twice orb is in violation of that "vow" in only 2 months span...and only about 12 gigs of a 60+ tour!

Hatti said...

WOW!!!!!Now it's up to 60+? We started off with 50 went to 57 and now 60+. Is LN paying for all those extra tours??

Oh I see no wonder KU is going to fly to Oz get there two days at the most fly back. He has to get those extra bucks don't ya know. ((giggles))

It's funny he is going yet Moosie and company had Sunday's birthday party all ready. Can't wait for good old Daddy now can we. He's just the Aussie version of hill billy and Moosie is royalty you know. So no reason to wait for that he can get a stale piece of cake. ((giggles))))

ok, how many Hank songs can you quote from memory? that's Hank Sr., or Hank Jr.? You pick.

I'm still saying this dude's a limp wrist, has to cover songs, can't write his own music, only where he's at because he's a pretty pretty pretty, such a pretty pretty boy.

Feeling especially violated after the Tshirt the other day. Bad orb.

maclen said...

Hatti said...
"WOW!!!!!Now it's up to 60+? We started off with 50 went to 57 and now 60+. Is LN paying for all those extra tours??"

Well, to be exact Hatti...that's 56 US and Canadian shows...along with the 6 shows he did in OZ in April makes 62 total. But it would appear his US tour WILL be smaller than his tour in 2009 which apparently about 67 gigs. So while orb is surely "downsizing" his tours...for instance in comparison, swifty 'upgraded' her "world tour" to about 70 gigs in about 13 foreign countries and the us and canada to orb's "world tour" of "Canada and Australia!"
And this whole "OZ jaunt" by kidman DOES seem pretty precular, doent it? Of course, firstly, she jets off to OZ to "celebrate" her anniversary to orb..without orb. Then she has a "birthday" celebration for little sunri on july 1st...when little sunri's b-day is obviously on july 7th....AGAIN without orb. Why not wait and celebrate it on it's proper day...when orb is in attendance? Well, basically...BECAUSE THEY CANT! It's quite apparent, when kidman bolted to OZ with the kids on june 27th, the obviously leaked info stated she would spend a "week" in oz. I would assume that she leaves oz by this coming monday...july 4th...so they wont be in oz on sunri's actual b-day of july 7th. And your right, Hatti, orb will only spend at most 2 days in Oz...because orb has another gig on july 7th. So, all this clearly shows...that all family "celebrations" revolve around orb's tour...and not the other way around as orb likes to maintain. Orb has a gig on july 7th in Pennsylvania...little sunri's b-day...THAT's why her b-day was celebrated on july 1st and WONT be celebrated on the 7th...orb has a gig scheduled!

Yeah your right hoosier...orb is DEFINATELY suffering from "image over substance." Surely that explains why he cant keep his audiences. For any complaints about MY mundane or repetitive comments here on the blog...fortunately, my career doesnt depend on my being "fresh and original!" Unfortunately for orb, his career DOES depend on keeping his image "fresh and origial." And it's clear his album and his tour is stale as years old bread.

Well, thanks Hatti! But you know as they say, "You cant please all of the poeple all of the time!" To which clearly the orb is learning pretty harshly with this tour! This tour is now, in yet another capacity, proving to orb that his "kidman-itis" is a career bummer! Dwindling cd sales, dwindling awards nods and now dwindling tour attendances...there just comes the point when ALL those diminishing returns simply send them down to the level of irrelency. Kidman is at that point now...the big paydays...the "starring" roles all just a memory now. She is reduced to scrambling...and NOT even easily landing...low budget, low perk and clearly low relevancy supporting roles. There will come a point when orb is simply a supporting player...be it on someone else's tour...or on someone else's album!

Keith Urban's happy birthday return for Nicole Kidman in Sydney

"Keith Urban arrives in Sydney to see nicole kidman for her birthday.

AND Keith Urban makes four. The Kurban family was complete again yesterday after the singer landed in Sydney for a quick visit."

..well apparently, this OZ trip was apparently an "all in one" buffet of family celebrations! A b-day celebration for kidman AND the #1 pr baby...and a celebration of their anniversary! And as I previously mentioned...orb returns to his "beloved" family 5 days...and not 3 days...or even 4 days...later contrary to his PR BS "tour scheduling" manipulations. Clearly this is some dumbass...jump through the hoops...go to the extremes simply for the sake of public appearances! And it's not very well done...orb returns...ALREADY missing the kid's b-day party ALL because of his tour and because kidman was chased out the country due to being banned from any public association to a film! You just got to wonder how much longer they can sustain this...what with their careers heading into the cellar...and at what point will it ALL not even be worth all these public platitudes!

It's just me. . .

Orb covering Waylon songs then photos in the Bosephus Tshirt just pushed me over the edge for a couple of posts. You know how I am.

Does he pay royalties to the people he covers on tour when he does these songs? Seems only fair.

Yeah I know what you mean hoosier..."bon jovi jr" covers are tantamount to the jonas brothers' butchering of stevie wonder's "Supersition" on that awards show!

Little known fact on jennings...he originally had the 3rd seat on the ill fated plane trip that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the BIg Bopper, JP Richardson in 1959...jennings gave up his seat to the sick Big Bopper.

I would say the "covers" performed by orb on this tour seems at a ridiculous level. From what I've read...orb enters the stage to the incredible thundering crescendos of The Beatles "A day in the Life"...he then covers a little of McCartney's "Silly Love Songs"... then Jenning's "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way"...and then band members "sample" U2's "With or Without You"...Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "American Girl" and AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top." THAT"S ALOT of "classic" covers...or as I called it..."ghosts" hovering over this tour! And its very clear to someone who can quite clearly see that orb is desperate...he couldnt attract a massive line up of opening acts he had in 2009, and only has jake owen for the entire US leg of the tour. Orb is trying very hard to compensate!

maclen said...

So...SUPPOSEDLY...orb flew into OZ on saturday, US time...according to the "last orb fansie in the world" orb claimed he would "film the video" for his summer single on friday and then fly off to oz and his "beloved" family. It is now monday, 3 whole days later...and not one photo op of orb shown in oz with his "beloved" family. The kidman daily photo ops have also been shut off. So no photos of orb in OZ. So lets look at WHAT IS out there regarding orb on the "PR" front since that daily telegraph "claimed" orb flew into oz...

HOT DISH: Keith Urban Gets Nicole Kidman's Support in All He Does

a story telling how kidman "supports" the orb in anything he does. And, well...that's all a google search turns up! But I did notice this story about the orb in a site ironically called "hollywood life.com...which then sends you to this site to read the full story...

http://www.hollybaby.com/2011/07/04/keith-urban-nicole-kidman-get-closer-tour/#respond

Keith Urban Plans His Tour Around Nicole Kidman & Their Girls! Aww!

...a rehash of the dubious and disengenous and flat out untruth of how orb "scheduled his tour so NOT TO SPEND 3 and not more than 4 days away" from his family...AWWWW! Now, looking at the picture included with this...SOME MAY be misled into believe it is a pic of orb with his beloved family in OZ on the 4th of july 2011...BUT in fact it is actually a photo of orb with his "beloved" family at LAx on may 25th 2011. So when it is being "claimed" that orb flew into oz 3 days ago to be with his "beloved" family...this story is released TODAY on how orb "schedules his tour to NOT BE away from his "beloved" family"... WITH NOT a current photo...but a 2 month old photo! And to me...it clearly reveals that there will NOT be any current photos of orb with his "beloved" family in OZ!
Which of course simply adds just another peculiar angle to these already bizzare events. Did orb really fly into Oz and was then immediately whisked away to an undisclosed bunker? Did he fly in and then got lost? Are kidman and her family just hiding from orb? Or is it just a case that kidman and orb simply decided to both run home to their mommies?

hoosierlady said...

"Did orb really fly into Oz and was then immediately whisked away to an undisclosed bunker?"

As soon as I quit shaking from laughter I will comment.

So the plane is named, "Was a Country Star 1" his helicopter is "Nashville -1", in case anything happens, (God forbid) the rythym guitarist steps into the lead spot, and they hover, refueling in mid-flight if necessary until things are secure on the ground once more. In the absolute emergency that both these has beens are taken out the speaker of the hall, (VINCE GILL) will once again take the lead and all will fall neatley back into place, and country music will return as it once was.

Maclen, if I should ever find myself in the position, (which is very doubtful) but if I should find myself in the position of needing a date for dinner, may I call you?

You amuse me.

Hatti,

Once upon a time, in a land called America you could go to a concert, pay your money for a ticket, buy a soft drink, enter the arena,(if you were cute, which I was back in the day) you could elbow you way to a good spot in front of the stage, wait through the opening act which was usually very good.

Then, the main act would come on. They would play for two or two and a half hours, maybe it was a little less or a little more, depending, but it was longer than 45 minutes for sure, and in that time you would not hear ANY MUSIC COMPOSED BY ANYONE ELSE THAN THE BAND ON THE STAGE.

The point I labor to make is he, yes I say he has sold himself from the beginning as a love starved barefoot poet, when from the beginning he has penned maybe half of his own, (and I am too lazy to look, half may be generous) I know he covered at least one song on the Ranch, which was the first album that was widely popular in the states.

I do not care if he covers songs well, I can see a bar band that cover songs well. My brothers cover songs well. I do not care if he plays the devil out of his guitar, let him do it on a song he wrote. If he wants to market himself as a loved starved barefoot poet boy, then starve yourself and write barefooted.

Leave my Tom Petty, Beatles, AC/DC, (why?) Stones, Clapton, etc.

ALONE.

Tara said...

AC/DC is obvious - that is the music of his teen years

So correct me if I am wrong but isn't it winter over there and wouldn't Keith wear a coat getting off a plane??

Saw a lovely picture of Keith filming Long Hot Summer released yesterday and his hair seems shorter than in the arrival photo- just wondering aloud.

loud whispers about Without pew- Keith said in an interview on Friday that Joe West gave the song to Nicole who gave it to Keith to perform. The rumor is that Kidman had the song written and gave it to Keith for a present in 2009. That song has so many stories about it.

maclen said...

Well, hoosier...as has been thoroughly explained on this blog the past 4 years these two inept celeb "washouts" can be "picked apart" ever so much easier! It's becoming "standard" that orb's stale PR BS has the usual results. So, 4 days in OZ and not even a ozzie PR peep from the orb or kidman? Just too transparent!

Well, not to get all "ORBY" on you, hoosier...you can metaphorically "get closer" all you want! NOT that I'm all into that whole masochistic bent... ala the orb...what with the "rip my shirt and scratch my back and arms you monkey animals"...but it does satisfy when ONE person reads my stuff and is completely "entralled!" Joe West gave the song to Nicole? Why, this flies in the face of the story where Emily West handed Keith a demo version and told him to give a listen.

"I put an early version of the demo on my album as kind of an extra before it was actually finished," recalls Dave. "Emily had a copy and gave it to Keith at a party they were at and told him this tune was his life. Keith called me personally the next morning and said he wanted to record it for his album."

I have not heard Georgia Woods, nor know the lyrics yet, but if what Fading Fan said is true about Keith writing the song after getting it on with Kidman in the woods there, it sure sounds to be like he took the idea from Trisha Yearwood's Georgia Rain. I very highly doubt that such a "classy" woman like Kidman would be getting it on in the Georgia woods - what about mosquitoes?

Keith said it himself at the #1 party that Emily West gave him the song. What a liar!

It is conflicting stories like these that make me believe the relationship is not real. Things constantly don't add up with these two. Who goes to these extremes telling such huge lies to make one's partner look like a "God"?

Blue Sky, you make a very valid point. It has always been those things that give the doubt that it's real, but I'm just convinced he's in love with her but only because I don't think he is capable of staying in a loveless marriage even for money. However, I may very well be wrong! I'm just a little disappointed that the song I did like now has the vision of NK embedded in every second of it.

WHAT! "Georgia Rain?"..."Georgia Woods?" Are you trying to imply, blue sky, that the orb would take the theme and idea from the Yearwood song and apply it to his life and song?! NO WAY!
Orb DOESNT have an original thought in his rather unimaginative mind! I recall hoosier wondering just how many songs orb has "self-penned"...and as part of my "extensively compiled" data...I recall that in 20 years and 8 albums...orb has "self-penned" a total of about 15 or 16 songs. And as I pointed out...that is JUST over the 14 "self penned" songs swifty has written...on her CURRENT ALBUM! Orb will clearly NOT be confused as the dude with the prolific creative or imaginative bent! When his career hits the skids...he WILL NOT make a living as a songwriter for other artists. He'll no doubt "co-write" with them...but I have a feeling his contribution to those co-written tunes is minimal! That's why he "writes" with so many of them...they need to pick up his slack.

love that aint love that is dependence. Which is what I think this relationship is. They feed off one another and it isn't very healthy- I wonder if either one of them is capable of the emotional maturity to overcome that dependence.

Yeah, kidman clearly has her own agenda. And it is just this laughable week long trip to oz by kidman that makes orb look like the inevitable "bit player." And it is that P-whipped image that he must then have to try and sell himself to HIS remaining fans. I have no doubt woman ARE craving men who would do ANYTHING to please them. But that is in THEIR personal lives...and I highly doubt that the fansie's of the dude that is trying to sell himself as the "guitar shredding" hard rocking live performer and trying to sell tickets or cds will actually be impressed by orb simply flying over to OZ to carry the diaper bag as KIDMAN returns to the US. Orb GOT NOTHING out of kidman's trip and media circus in OZ...except one prearranged photo of of orb "carring the diaper bag" home. ...a net gain of 546 MORE cds and still at the bottom of the list. MEanwhile the top of the list, aldrean gains 7,966 more cds sold... that's more than twice as much as orb's total in simple gains for aldrean! Once again, a few hundred up...a few hundred down, There is absolutely NO serious gain for orb. And how soon before his stale tour causes those numbers below 2k and 1k?

I've noticed how sad Sunday Rose has looked lately as well. When Faith wasn't in the picture, Nic was always the one holding Sunday Rose when the family was out together. Keith is the one in charge of Sunday Rose now, but remember the bowling outing - then Sunday Rose was good enough for Nic to hold again. As long as Faith is in the pictures now, Sunday Rose will be second string to Nic, because she must remain in the spotlight. I laugh at Nic kissing Faith's head at the Sydney airport. I guess I had more important things to worry about than kissing my baby, for example, getting all the luggage out of the car, along with strollers and car seats. She really looked at the cameras and gave the paps nice conversation and smiles.

So perdictable.

Yes Hatti, in my mind this bizzare week in Oz for the batch of photo ops without the orb, AND if it's true kidman will attend the baftas royal gala reportedly to be held in LA... while orb plays a gig the same night clear across the country in conneticut...indicates kidman may have cut orb out of her desperate "free for all" media circus campaign to revive her failed career. And, if those reports kidman was up to replace vergara in the film, The Paperboy, comes to NOTHING...surely it would point to kidman making an "adjustment" to her phoney PR marriage to orb. I thought it very weird that only a few days after those reports about that role came out, and beleiving kidman at this point IS VERY desperate for another role...and ANY role...would not pick up and leave for OZ for a week...IF she were SERIOUSly considered for the role. AS we all consider it to be absolutely true that orb turning over every aspect of his career to the "image" of kidman has been a definate determent to it...perhaps kidman has ALSO come to the realization that orb's "contribution" to the rehabilitation of her failed career has not worked.
And surely, this I believe has killed kidman's longest and most desperate hope to remain "relevent" in lalaland...

http://hollywood-elsewhere.com/2011/07/this_wasnt_expe.php

This Wasn't Expected?

"Hasn't the release of Albert Nobbs this year been a foregone conclusion for a while now? Hasn't it been more or less presumed that the Best Actress race will likely include Glenn Close performance in Rodrigo Garcia's period drama because she's playing a gender-swap role?"

...this I believe FINALLY kills off any more talk of kidman's long hobbling hope of getting The Danish Girl made by her vanity shingle! And in fact, with the very low gross last weekend of Monte Carlo...$8mil over the holiday 4 days...I wouldnt be surprised AT ALL if kidman DOESNT "PRODUCE" another film! So I truly believe kidman has opted to throw orb over the bow of her "titanic"...and it is now "every hasbeen for themselves!"

She has not lost the handle: Box Office Poison.

I don't know if she has finally gotten a light bulb moment about KU being her down fall.

If she is trying to get back her classy snooty HW she has got to do something with the country crooner and the Hill billy mamma image!!!

Well, here's the first posted review of orb's gig in CT at the Giant Center...

http://blog.pennlive.com/go/2011/07/keith_urban_rocks_giant_center.html

Keith Urban rocks Giant Center

"He smiles, and there's a twinkle in his eye. He starts into one of his many love songs and the fans -- the majority of which are female -- start to melt.
It just seems to come so easy for Keith Urban, who wooed a nearly full house at Giant Center Thursday night with a 21-song performance that lasted for more than two hours. He seems to genuinely love what he does, and his goal is to make the fans happy."

...so right off...NO ATTENDANCE NUMBER. Simply....a NEARLY FULL HOUSE...so NO SELLOUT...BUT how NEARLY FULL was it dude? The capacity at the GIant Center is 12.5k. Was it 11k...10k...heck even 9K? Orb "claims" he played to 12k at the SHRM conference. So what's the problem? Reviewers of orb's gigs cant count that high? They cant inquire what the total was? Well, it seems reviewers of chesney's shows have no trouble quoting numbers...

Saturday night in Provo: Paisley, Archuleta provide American fun

"Country singer Brad Paisley proved to be the perfect headliner to cap the well-run America’s Freedom Festival’s signature event, and Utah country group Artie Hemphill and the Iron Horse Band won the first Stadium of Fire Talent Search, determined by the crowd’s vote after the final three competitors (whittled down from more than 400 entries) performed on stage in front of the near-capacity crowd of about 47,000 spectators.

...and all orb gets is a "nearly full house" for a cap of 12.5k arena?! How pathetic! Of course orbs moldy oldies were in predictible force...

"With the dramatic piano ending of the Beatles song "A Day In The Life" serving as his intro, Urban hit the stage with "Put You In A Song,""

"For "Memories Of Us," the 43-year-old Aussie, switched gears and opened with an acoustic portion of Paul McCartney's "Silly Love Songs," because -- what's wrong with that"

...I see the "ghosts" are still present at orb's crikity old cobwebbed broken down mess of a show!..

"Urban made dreams come true for 16-year-old Luke Bickerstaff of DuBois, who was one of three fans he pulled onstage to help sing a chorus of "Kiss A Girl." Bickerstaff said he was in shock when base player Jerry Flowers pointed at him."

"Thank you to everybody," he said. "Even though you've got to get up early, you stayed. And thank you everybody for singing at the top of your lungs. It's hard times. And to see this many people out on a Thursday night is incredible."

...yep, "hard times"...orb WILL continue to make excuses for his pitiful attentances...whatever they may be! BUT REMEMBER...it's only NEARLY FULL...so it aint 12.5K! HA!

H,

So Nicole's son and a complete stranger both came to the same conclusion? Jeez, that priceless.

I agree that Keith's no intellectual; he has neither the education nor the temperament to be cerebral. He's driven by his intuition, by his gut. That's his compass, for better or worse, not his intellect.

But I agree with Tara. For a rural high school dropout, he's done a good job of continuing his education on his own. He is (or was) a voracious reader, and seemed to move beyond reading the I'm-OK-You're-OK texts. (Call me gullible, but I was impressed when he mentioned reading bios of Bill Hicks and Abe Lincoln.) He's not dense. He's accomplished too much.

And he's done one very smart thing: he's surrounded himself with people brighter than himself. People like Greg, Ansel and, to a certain extent, Dann. He could have chosen sycophants, but didn't.

He wanted mainstream acceptance, and they have helped him achieve that. He followed their advice when fine-tuning his own ideas.

That's a smart man.

So, when some may criticize my "droning on" with the stats and data week in, week out...that I am simply repeating myself..."peat and re-peating the same opinions...I get a huge sense of satisfaction when I read something like this...from a promo piece on orb's two gig spots at the Mohegan Sun...

http://www.theday.com/article/20110707/ENT10/307079544/-1/ENT

Keith Urban, rock star, comes to Mohegan Sun Arena for two nights

"The one thing with social networking and YouTube is people already know what you're doing. They've already seen the show. There's no surprises any more," he said to AP. "So I figured out the idea of the moving stage and it will never be in the same place twice."

...so "co-incidently...or not...first orb adds a new "disclaimer" to his shows about how "times are tough" and he "knows" it tough for his fansie's to get out to his shows...something Ive certainly been droning on about since his first show...now orb is POINTING OUT...with "social networking and youtube" people know that his show is just an "overcooked skillet of refried grits left too long on the grill!" So, when I drone on about these pretty patently "eye rolling and tedious" gimmicks...it's to make a point. Orb is trying to sell his refried "burnt grits" to an ever declining clientele who only logically...would want something with a little more imagination or just variety!

Yes Tara...He is a self educated man. He knows every d@mn word in the dictionary and its meaning.

I am not impressed with Ansel he was all about this contract with Moosie girl. Most everyone else was saying don't do it you won't have a career. But Ansel said it is only an escort service for a year friends that's all!!! Well we see what happened. So I believe Ansel got paid to stab KU. I don't know why he is still around except the old saying, Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!

I sit corrected. I do not know the people of which you speak. I don't know the history of Urban. I came to the party late. Our girl Nic is the reason I RSVP'd. He's the icing on the cake to me, you see, I am learning as I go, that is why I ask such silly questions about him.

Has he subsequently finished high school in the US with a GED? I know that isn't important because he's uber rich, but it would be a good thing. How old was orb when he quit? How much formal education has he had? Who manages the money?

Ansel is barely around - we hardly see him- I always thought it was weird but the night of Keith's bachelor party Ansel was with Kidman and her family and friends- and Keith never thanks him anymore

I never heard the part about the dictionary before - but that would make sense along with his ability to know the words to 400 songs as he claimed the other day in an interview

Yeah hoosier, it's the same here. Orb to me is simply a fantastic example of a once promisingly successful country celeb idiotically grinding that promise into the ground trying to emulate another rather "uninspiring" "uncommercial" and endlessly self "agrandizing" to the point of ridiculous camp and satire! Whether they actually love each other or that orb is "smarter" than he looks...or appears...or has been portrayed is besides the point for me. I'm sure there have been celebs with genius IQ's who have crashed and burned their careers because they no doubt read and began to "believe" their own PR BS! It's been part of my attempt at this comment thread to show the instances where they "put out" that PR BS that is NOT patently "TRUE"...and there should be some point where "what they claim" in a PR interview is not always exactly the truth...when enough instances are shown that that is NOT the case!

So, two shows back in orb's resumed lackluster tour...and not too surprisingly...no attendance numbers. For clearly, if the numbers were IMPRESSIVE...they'd be hyping it! So it would appear clear that orb WILL NOT make it into these type of stories...

http://www.tennessean.com/article/20110709/BUSINESS/307090044/Anita-Wadhwani--Smoking-hot-country-stars-help-concert-sales-rally

nita Wadhwani: 'Smoking hot' country stars help concert sales rally

"Worldwide concert ticket sales jumped more than 11 percent to $1.65 billion during the first half of 2011 compared with the same period last, according to a report released this week by music trade magazine Pollstar."

Country music, in particular, is experiencing a good year for live music, with ticket sales expected to surge even higher as performers such as Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts put their summer tours into high gear.

When you look at Brad (Paisley), Taylor (Swift) and Kenny (Chesney), who consistently give the fans a bigger bang for their buck in their shows, they’re all doing really well. They all played stadium shows on the same day in different parts of the country and sold out.”

Swift and Chesney are among the top-grossing Nashville-based artists on tour."

"Swift’s concerts have averaged $1.3 million per concert at 38 stops so far this year, making her the No. 10 concert performer on the planet.

Chesney has averaged $1 million in earnings for each of his 34 concerts this year, putting him at No. 7.

..orb averaged about 700k per show in 2009...I of course I'm sensing he WILL NOT make that much this year! Interestingly, the mention of swifty, chesney and paisley as the HOT country tours...and the omission of the orb totally MIRRORS my highlighting that fact. And the other point about how...

"They all played stadium shows on the same day in different parts of the country and sold out."

...has also been a point Ive brought up, and even the fact that the exact 40+ venues that both swifty and chesney both played and have sold out...the orb WILL NOT appear at this year. The reason is clear...orb CANNOT sell out a 40k+ venue this year! So orb will play 12k to 20k venues...and perform for 8k! And just to note...so far....NO REVIEW or NUMBERS for orb's show last night at the TD Garden in Boston.

"Well maclen..There is some truth mixed with too much emotion. But you know pre Moosie some of us have been there and done that. ((giggles)))"

Yes, Ive learned after a few years here at Urban Myths, Hatti... NOT to let emotion take too much away from the point your simply trying to make! And to watch not to let the focus be shifted from mutt and jeff and onto the commenters themselves. You know..."this skeptic" is only complaining because they're "jealous"..etc..."that skeptic" only wished they had mutt and jeff's life! It's simply bloody pointless back and forth!

So, kidman turns up at the royal's shindig...to be seen without orb...I suppose it makes a fab resume entry! Meanwhile orb is huffing it up and the Mohegan arena clear across the country in Connecticut. Now, "supposedly" the assumed reason they added another gig tommorrow was because the first show was a "sellout"...and therefore the added gig. But, that's not how the Mohegan Sun website describes it exactly...

http://www.mohegansun.com/entertainment/arena.html

"By Overwhelming Demand, A 2nd Show Added!"

... and NOT precisely because the oringinal show had "sold out." NOw of course, being how orb's tour has been very well anemic and not exactly SHOUTING big attendances I would surely expect to read "sell out" in reviews for this first gig tonight or tommorrow. Being how a second show was added. So far the only numbers to come out are 7k and 8k. Now, personally I'd assume the show was simply added because the sunday date on the 10th remained open and orb decided to take it. Again, "overwhelming demand" would assume it was a sellout...so we shall see. Another point to take with the gig tonight...the mohegan arena website states the capacity for concerts ARE only 10k...so once again, if orb CANT sell it out...that is simply sad!

...here is the first...and will it be the only?...review of orb's show at the Mohegan...

http://www.masslive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2011/07/keith_urban_at_mohegan_sun.html

Keith Urban at Mohegan Sun

...pretty basic and rather uninspired title wouldnt you say? Why not simply, "Orb at M.S." And once again...NO SELLOUT? No bragging of attendance numbers? The quote of the night...most assurdely...

"“You still with us, Connecticut?” he asked. “It’s a little quiet tonight.

...clearly it's no doubt with the LESS THAN 10k audience...the crickets chirping must have been pretty deafening...AND I dont mean Buddy Holly's Crickets! And speaking of music legends "ghosts"...it seems along with The Beatles...Mccartney...U2 and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers...it seems the current go to "legend" is the BOSS...Springsteen...quote the "reviewer"...

"The obvious comparison is Springsteen, who has made a career wading into the front-row fray as the populist rock preacher. But to suggest that Urban’s genuine display of these down-to-earth dalliances is a copy would be doing him a disservice."

...so why would it be a "disservice?" Since the reviewer DOESNT explain why...it's simple rubbish to simply introduce the spector of "The Boss" to orb's rather tedious and played out gestures. So here is HOW THE BOSS CLEARLY got dragged into this whole debacle...

http://articles.boston.com/2011-07-08/ae/29752604_1_keith-urban-lori-mckenna-guitar

‘Closer’ to his heart
July 08, 2011

Q. As an arena concertgoer yourself were there any artists you took inspiration from?

A. I think Springsteen’s probably the benchmark for me. With the diversity of intimate, acoustic singer-songwriter songs and then just full-on, rock ’n’ roll assault, crowd-chanting singalong songs. He’s really the king of it for me. I’ve never seen anybody work an arena the way Bruce does, the athleticism, the passion, the ferocity."

...SO...the orb mentions Springsteen in a Promo interview 2 days ago...and NOW a "reviewer" tonight makes a comparison of orb to the BOSS? Well, seems we can guess WHERE this "reviewer" got his copy for this "review! HA!
Now, why would you suppose, at this moment, the Boss would suddenly be invoked by first orb and then a "reviewer" only a few days later...could it be this?

http://www.northjersey.com/arts_entertainment/125282403_He_s_a_whole_lot_country____.html

Keith Urban leads a parade of country stars into the Garden State.

"Is New Jersey taking a sudden shine to cowboy boots and country music?

"I guess it is," Urban said during a recent phone interview. "We've certainly played a lot in New Jersey over the years. We always look forward to coming back."

Ohhhhhhh....orb NEXT heads into "jersey" on the 14th directly after the shows at Mohegan this weekend! SO...orb now wants to "be like bruce" just before he rolls into the Garden State! What a pathetic and predictable hack orb is. Oh yeah...orb is really JUST like "Springsteen, McCartney, Bono and Tom Petty" ALL ROLLED UP IN ONE! HA! HA!

H,

Keith dropped out of school at 15 with his folks' permission. He wasn't a good student, and was impatient to go 100% on his career. School was getting in the way.

He has not obtained his GED. He has simply continued his education on his own. He's turned into a half-way decent businessman.

The money is managed by Mary Ann McCready at FBMM, a firm that deals with a number of performers. It's her name on all of KUNK's titles to their homes.

Greg is Greg Shaw, Keith's first manager. Worked with him from the earliest days in Australia, They were extremely tight. Shaw dedicated EVERYTHING to Keith's career, including his personal fortune and family inheritance. Greg was fired with no notice when Keith felt a need to make changes. This was just after the first rehab.

Ansel is Ansel Davis, Keith's lawyer and, some say, the guy who's pulling all the strings. Tara mentions that he's MIA these days. Who knows if that's deliberate. (It could coincide with Our Nic's change of management. That's a possibility.)

Dann Huff is Keith's producer. I think of him as the Phil Collins of Nashville. He helps to craft Keith's sound, so he takes both credit and blame for whatever it is Keith sounds like.

I forgot to mention Gary Borman, Keith's manager since replacing Shaw. Another heavy hitter.

This is the abridged version of Keith's history. If you want more details, feel free to ask.

Tara said...

I tend to think the new poster on E has something to say.

He seems very happy on this tour so far I think its probably because he knows there isn't a chance of her dropping in

Well 440 I will say this KU can hold his own against any English college professor.

I'm not sure why Shaw was terminated but I will say this parting of the ways can happen to anyone. Investors know they are taking a chance on the stock market too.

Do you have the stats on how many of KU's staff were fired when Moosie girl came on the scene??

Gary Borman is a sleaze bag along with Ansel!!!

Dan Huff is so nice, I'm glad they are still working together.

Yes and McCreery set up his trust for all his properties too. Just to make sure things are safe!! ((giggles)))

And now the best part is all his work is safe the publishing company he has now will make sure of that!

Tara said...

I think if Keith were smart and wanted to go in a new direction the two people I would retire are Dann Huff and Gary Borman
although Borman seems a little more concerned with Lady A than Keith - he sat with them at the CMAs and the Grammys
another person that could be retired is Chris Hicky.
Huff is the won that has so watered down Keith that they could interchange him with anyone

Dan can be trusted. Borman and Ansel cannot. Since there are so few in this cauldron of serpents he found himself involved with I believe he is glad to have a few that are tried and true.

Thank you for the facts. Thank you for reporting them as facts.

I know we are a blogsite, and what we do here is not always the nicest stuff, we have all had this discussion before, but it seems to me for the most part we have, at least, semi-intelligent conversations (sans Nic's wardrobe/makeup/kidcare faux pauxs) about issues that are true, and fact based.

I read the eonline blog, (I do not comment). Those bloggers, especially two of them which has to be one person, (maybe a split personality because he/she answers themselves)have the most perposterous claims and theories. Overfeeding babies, fake babies, hits being ordered on family members, if you haven't read it, you might want to try, but please, do not stay too long, I need you here with your brain intact.

Anyway, thanks everyone for keeping it at least civil over here, and the content of our blog within believable limits.

Yes hoosier, apparently there is a new commenter over at the E! NEG thread who quite clearly is claiming to have "personal" knowledge of the mutt and jeff situation. Personally, I never bit when fansie's would come here and claim I was wrong about something because THEY HAD personal knowledge of it! And clearly, I'm not biting the "fake life like baby" kidman is somehow parading throught airports for her photo ops...or that murdoch is kidman's "hitman"...or for that matter that murdoch would "destroy" orb's career if he split with kidman. As Ive pretty much maintained, celebs have MULTIPLE sources to get out their public promo...whether it works or not is another thing. I'm sure at this point, orb would have just as much damaging info on kidman if it ever got to that point of dissention! So basically, I WONT be responding to those comments over there.

Now, as the orb finishes his two gigs at the Mohegan...which one reviews says was "sold out"...ok...he sold out a max 10k capacity...which I maintain is still NOT impressive...if it was 20k or even 25k...but 10k is still bringing up the rear in summer tours. Next orb heads to the "garden state" where as I mention earlier...orb AND a "reviewer" both invoked the Boss...Springsteen...evidently orb is STILL grasping at "ghosts" to keep his tour afloat! At this point I should simply tag orb as the country "Zelig"....the woody allen cinematic creation...who morphs into anyone he's in close proximity with. Well, orb's been involking many "legendary" artists... to the likes of bon jovi...apparently, heading into jersey, orb wants to play "air guitar" as the Boss! Good luck with that one, pal!

I'm gonna respectfully disagree. It was Keith who watered down Keith. Keith wanted to be AC/DC or U2 by way of Willie Nelson. He wanted mainstream acceptance. And it had to be outside the parameters of trad country.

Dann Huff aided and abetted him big time. But the initial ideas and final decisions are always Keith's.

Well maclen...Some of us say things that we know to be true. And we can back it up to a degree without compromising others.

I don't believe any of us can say a person is lying or ludicrous b/c they said this or that and it cannot possibly be true or they don't want it to be true.

As in my post over there when investigated there was the possiblity that what I posted could be true. But b/c that celeb is liked it has to be a lie. And again maclen I say, thanks for your support. Shows you have an open mind.

I'm sorry but there are things that go on behind the scenes that are treacherous in that business we're not seeing that b/c the media doesn't publize it.

Now Rupie is a very formidable character, Moosie girl has been his protege way before TC came along. Rupie is a family friend or shall I say treasure. I am hoping Rupie's Karma is catching up with him now.

Just as Rupie can put KU on the cover of People or get him his star award so Moosie gets some PR. He can damage KU just as fast. I'm sure that is an everyday concern.

Well maclen one more thing. If anyone thinks I am that other poster? Well you know, they just have to ask MOD to check IP addresses. That will tell it all!!

Tara said...

I think the new poster is someone who hasn't spoken before- interesting reading is all I can say.
However it is not me either. I have never posted on E contrary to what is believed.

There are a lot of people out there who want to see Uncle Rupie fall and this thing is getting bigger and bigger and you would think that someone as big as Kidman would have been one of those people that were trailed- she was in Oz. Uncle Rupie.. we saw what happened in 2006 when all the Amanda stuff came out- first in Life and Style then less than a month later in the Daily Mail enough said about the power of help and destruction.

Back to why I think Huff needs to go.
I would agree that up until Pain Keith was in charge but I think after the failure of Pain, Keith got spooked. I read recently where Keith said he has been listening to Pain and he thought it had some really good parts- I agree with him. But Pain was a combination of a lot of songs that weren't used for Be Here and newer songs about you know who and Pain was released when the fans were starting to question the situation and Keith was unavailable as he was at Betty Ford. The few interviews that he did (anyone remember the CMT interview where you were wondering if Keith remembered it) were very sad. I think Pain would have been better if Keith had been functional. Since then and really was reflected in the 2009 NY Times interview Keith hasn't been able to make the big decisions. Huff has become more of a dominate force and he creates records that are trendy. The experimental stuff, Like I told you so, is gone and we get the dreck that is Defying Gravity and Get Closer which between them only have a few decent songs on them. You can listen to the first 3 solo Cd's all the way through after Pain most people pick and choose and that is sad. I also think Keith was dealing with a record company that wanted something bigger and put a lot of pressure on him so give them what they want and let go of the wheel.

Tara,

A number of observers have quoted Keith as saying privately that he was at his best artistically during The Ranch phase. But The Ranch didn't break as big as Keith had wanted. And they weren't as Classic Rock as Keith had wanted. So he broke up the band and walked. His choice.

Yeah, I agree that he has (had?) CapNash to answer to in terms of selling units. But the more Keith became rich and famous -- the more he consolidated leverage and power -- the more he was in control of the final product.

He did a video interview recently where he almost bragged about hearing a new release of his on the radio and not being completely happy with it. Said he wanted to "redo the compression." So he called Mike Dungan, the CEO, to tell him that the song would be redone and rereleased.

Keith informed HIM of what would be done. And Dungan, in his own interview, said he agreed.

While I suspect there's a whole lot of horse-trading still going on (which single gets released and when), Keith ultimately is in charge.

I'm sure there HAVE BEEN commenters on the blogs who may have actually had insider or personal info, Hatti. But as I mentioned, it's just too difficult to basically verify it on "anonymous blogs." So you will get some who may believe it and others naturally who wont believe it. For me, since I WONT buy it from fansie's who claim it...I couldnt with good conscience even with commenters I basically agree with. As to the issue of "multiple identities"...I have no problem with people posting on different blogs....even under different usernames...and I'm a HUGE defender of "anonymous usernames"...too many whackos out there who you may not want have any of your personal info! What I have had a problem with, and I've mentioned it here in the past...is people posting on the same blog under different usernames...or as it's referred to..."sock puppetry".In the world of online blogs, it's considered to be a desperate ploy for "peer acceptance" and "undeserved support." And your right, Hatti anyone who has any suspicion of someone posting over at the E! blogs can simply message the mod about it. I do know that it is in the rules over there NOT to post under different usernames. So I assume they CAN see when it's happening by the IP address. And I'm VERY sure there ARE commenters at E! who NO DOUBT have checked that out already!

So Keith felt he was his most creative 13 years ago in the middle of his crack addiction? I like The Ranch record a lot and it would have been nice if the record company had fostered him along but they didn't.
Huff is a master at making material playable. I just stand by my opinion (and its only that) that Keith has not had as much power in his recording for the last 2 records I think we would have had a completely different sound if he had total control.

hoosierlady said...

Are the songs he writes your favorites? Are they the songs of quality?

Yes maclen the boards/blogs are a great place to dump the truth. No one would ever believe that an insider would post truth at such a place. But you know?? When an insider becomes a distant insider you have to be creative to get your point across!!! ((giggles)))

So it seems the equipt of KU's takes up so much room they have to cordon off about three thousand seats. Wouldn't that make the shows at the MS seating seven thousand? Just about where his numbers are!!

maclen said...

Well Hatti, the main objective is to remain on point. I post to be read...to get my opinions and my observations out there into the conversation. If someone agrees, great...if not, I think the initial reaction is to butt heads over it...as Ive done MANY times over the years! But clearly, I am feeling a whole lot MORE satisfaction lately... that my "ruminations" I feel are quite evidently being proven correct. Both kidman and orb are clearly struggling. You should also take time to feel that satisfaction!
As to the orbs attendance...yeah, it is surely evident as I follow each of his gigs...the NUMBERS ARE very rare. As with my observation on his first show...prior to the show, the media report was "expecting" 8k...and only 7k actually attended. Clearly, ONLY 8k tickets were put on sale. When its clear the actual numbers are being ignored, it's simply that there is not much to notice.

Yeah I agree. I have made MUCH of the effects his declining cd sales have had on his career. IT IS the end all to whether orb can remain viable as what I term, an "elite" country star. His declining cd sales, I believe, is WHY he is no longer signed to a recording contract with capnash. When it was becoming VERY obvious he couldnt move the cds as he once had, capnash clearly wasnt going to give orb the recording deal he wanted or was "accustomed" to when he sold 4 mil cds of his 2004 cd. And ALL that effects EVERY aspect of his career. Since orb could not renew his recording deal with capnash...but orb CLEARLY owed capnash another album...they obviously ordered a "rush release' of his last cd on his previous deal. So orb had only 11 months to...write, record and release his current cd... and as I noted in an extensive "stat and data" report...orb had a 2 year and 4 month time span to release his previous cd, defying sales in 2009. That would surely explain any "dissatisfaction" orb may have with the new stuff. He simply did not have time to do it as he may have wished. And the fact that the "standard" cd of GET! Loser ONLY contained 8 tracks...and the "deluxe" cd ONLY included 3, what I would expect...incomplete new tracks and then further padded with "live tracks" would bolster that point. And then that comes to orb's current tour. I maintain that this tour was scheduled SO LONG after the release of the cd...7 months later to be exact...BECAUSE it was clear orb's cd sales were so mediocre. And to repeat this point...orb scheduled the tour for summer and intended to "promo" the tour with the summer single...rather than "promo" the cd with the tour...because it was CLEAR even to orb that his cd sales were too weak for the tour to have made a difference. Well, now we get to the "logistics" of this tour. It's clear orb is trying to "shore up" his rep as a "touring juggernaut." Now as I maintained, "reviews" of concerts are simply a manestation of further "PR." There simply to "talk up" the fabulousness or awesomeness of the performer. EVERY current performer at any given's city's venue just gave 'the greatest show on earth!"
They're either "the most energetic" or the "most sincere" or the "most beloved" performers they seen yet...UNTIL the next act shows up and they are the most astounding! So basically, reviews are useful for attendence numbers...when they are reported which in orb's case, are very rare...and that is by design. I still maintain orb will fall short of his last full tour in 2009. And as I follow orb's each successive gig...(by the way, orb is headed to the "garden state" on thursday...do you think he will throw in a cover of the Boss?)...I dont see anything that tells me different.

Keith Urban Chats About Touring, ‘Long Hot Summer’ + His Rock Influences

"Q- Your new song ‘Long Hot Summer’ has a real heartland rock feel to it. It seems to come out of the ’80s rock tradition of Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Bryan Adams and John Mellencamp. How intentional is this retro feel?

A- It’s so awesome that you said that. I never thought that much about John, but John is a huge influence on me. Wow, you’ve blown me away. I’m thinking of a song like ‘Paper and Fire,’ or even ‘Summer of ’69,’ and you’re right, it’s a heartland rocker in that vein. It’s probably my AC/DC upbringing. I’ve always loved 4/4 tunes that are four-on-the-floor and just really want to rock."

...yes, it is JUST COINCIDENCE that this interviewer JUST HAPPENS to mention springsteen!

Q- You’re a country artist, but there’s rock ‘n’ roll in your sound.

A- Well, country seems to be finding a bigger audience. Certainly an audience out of the general country scene is finding me. I know ‘You’ll Think of Me’ went out and found a wider audience. And seeing us live will make a fan out of you. I love the rock and country mix we get at our concerts."

...it's ridiculous of orb to "insinuate" that an "audience" of the Country scene is finding him due to his non existant "ROCK" cred! His cd sales are way down...his tour attendence is way down...JUST WHO is now finding orb?! The truth is, the orb as "ROCK"...and the playing up in promos is as I said...LAUGHABLE! You simply DO NOT gain rock n roll cred BECAUSE you site Strait's Knoptler...Floyd's Gilmour and Clapton as "influences!" Just as I find it a pathetic attempt to try and build up excitement for his mediocre and tired tour by SUDDENLY involking The Boss...a third time in the past week...JUST as he heads into newark, new jersey! Again, the orb COULDNT attract any heavy weight performers willing to back him up this tour...so his attempt to ride in on a massive wave on the backs of TRUE rock legends makes orb a desperate hack and an obvious musical LIGHTWEIGHT!

He did a Springsteen song from Tunnel of Love several years ago so I wouldn't be surprised.
The deal with the covers is that he has enough songs to sustain an entire show and yet he doesn't use them.

The IP addresses on the boards are registered. Now unless a person wants to spend money running around from Lap top cards to library computers for a stupid gossip board? Then I would say that person should get a life!!

Hatti said...

Well Tara I think he only wants to sing the songs he really likes. The CD he is suppose to be promoting is not where it's at. That is so obvious. Except for the few songs he wrote himself. If you listen to the....I'm In from DG or LHS from CG... you know he owns them. The hard thing is to get the smell of Moosie girl out of your nostrils!!

Hatti; every post has a IP number. I use an IPad so the IP number will change if I'm at home, work, or Starbucks. No need to go to the library but that would be a different number too.

So this weeks cd sales number...

http://www.roughstock.com/blog/the-country-boys-continue-to-dominate-the-charts

Jason Aldean My Kinda Party 41,965

Zac Brown Band You Get What You Give 15,699

Taylor Swift Speak Now 13,910

Lady Anthebellum Need You Now 8,229

Rascal Flatts Nothing Like This 8,110

Kenny Chesney Hemingway's Whiskey 7,676

orb- Get Closer ?????

So, the second week of orb lackluster tour, orb's cd sales once again DROP OFF the top 25 Country sales chart. Well, I had a feeling that his tour...or for that matter his summer single WOULD NOT help his cd sales. His tour does not have any "added attraction"..it seems no one was interested in hanging out with orb this summer! For instance, 2009 tour opener swifty has moved on to her on headlining tour and will no doubt probably DOUBLE orb's gross of 2009. While swifty, chesney and ever paisley are constantly playing to reported 20k...30k...even up to 50k audiences...orb's first "purported" sellout was in a 10k venue! His tour is stale, and HIGHLY scripted...he should just pass out a playbill to his show...but I'm sure his audience ALREADY knows what's going to happen. He's the modern day and updated, "Donny and Marie Osmond"..."he's a little bit country, AND he's a little bit rock and roll!" He's a perfect example of that old saying..."jack of all trades, master of none"...and as I once described it...orb is clearly "dilluting" his appeal...he's "mediocre" country and he's mediocre "pop" and I wont even give him the benefit of being ANYWHERE near "rock" as he would like to portray himself. So tonight orb plays newark at the Prudencial center... he's got his "Springsteen face" on...the venue is max 19,5k for concerts. No way he can sellout...unless he ONLY offers tickets for a max 10k capacity.!

maclen remember they block off alot of seats for his equipt. The rollercoaster takes more seats b/c you can't see him at some angles.

Now I know you don't think KU is smart enough to read his career right now. But I believe he can and I think that stage configuration was done for that reason.

He knew promoting Moosie girl would do exactly what it is doing, sinking his career. Maybe that is just what he wants to have happen. I know it sounds like why in the He..11 would anyone do that to themselves. But you know what they say, behind closed doors! ;)

Yeah Hatti, I'm pretty sure orb KNOWS his tour will not do as well as his past tour. In a past comment I mentioned that it was pretty telling that swifty could play two shows at the Gillette stadium in boston and sell out both shows at 50k each...and that chesney was also headed to the Gillette for two shows as well in August...and that orb WAS NOT playing the Gillette this summer! NOw what I dont buy is that orb is the fabulous PR mastermind that was responsible for his crack at the big time. I dont see the orb as a particularly deep or profound "artist"...my opinion of orb the "songwriter" is pretty clear. I see orb just as bland and rudimentary as kidman...no doubt a true meeting of "like minds'. Orb was just lucky enough to find and put together a compentent team to get him to the level he achieved. I would also wager that orb's basically giving up his career to kidman WAS NOT exactly an enthusiastic recommendation by his "team." That I believe was ALL orb's decision. NOw as I follow orb's tour...my main focus right now basically...it all, so far still points in my opinion that orb's tour numbers will very similarly follow his cd sales numbers...and the trajectory...which is simply...downward.

maclen...I believe you're right about his trajectory it is on a downward spiral. I think he is what I would say giving himself a soft landing. He isn't going to come off looking like the bottomeless pit but he is not having a stellar six years either.

Many still enjoy his concerts even with the covering up of his mediocore music. There is nothing good to be said about his music except he is an inspirational writer. When he is happy the tunes will be happy, in recovery he brings out what people in recovery need to touch a higher being, and when breaking up with someone well he throws the cat at you!! ((giggles)) His music is him and his relationships, surroundings, so if we look at it that way I would say he had it all and the Moose stepped on him!!!!((giggles))

I agree with Hatti about why the stage is the way it is. It eats up the space but it is also one of the best screened shows out there. The folks in the back do get a good view.

So what was the deal with Keith and the sloppy scruff, stained suit and a bewildered expression going to a cocktail party with Kidman to honor Murdocks wife Wendi? I would stay away from that mess with a 30 foot pull. He looked dirty.

Ultimately Hatti, whether I turn out to be right about how orb's tour is doing will simply be proven correct or incorrect with the end year concert grosses report from Pollstar.com. But following the tour...and taking into account all the pre tour specifics...I feel somewhat confident it is NOT going well for orb. Take for instance...orb's tour resumed yesterday in Jersey, as I mentioned last night...at the 19.5k capacity Prudential arena. From what I can tell, NO reviews so far. AND, what I do notice is a pickup of "promos" for orbs shows. This morning ANOTHER piece...I think the 3rd or 4th now...detailing orb's rock 'influences"...

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/keith-urban-ac-dc-john-mellencamp-influence/

Keith Urban Credits AC/DC, John Mellencamp as Early Influences on His Music

..I clearly see this as orb...trying very hard...to spread his potential "appeal" beyond his obvious declining Country fanbase. So he's playing the non county AC/DC, U2 and Tom Petty as a regular part of every show. Again, orb is trying to "compensate" for what he clearly sees as his obvious liabilities...his dwindling appeal amoung his former country fanbase.

Hello everybody. First of all, this is a very lengthy post, as it may very well be my last. I will have to split it into 2 posts I'm sure. Anyway, I have to say that I just came from JJ and was looking at the pics from the other night and decided to read the comments below. Keep in mind, I stopped reading the comments a long time ago because I found it extremely disturbing to find so many people making horrible comments about little Sunday. She's a child for God's sake. Anyway, as I stated, I was reading the comments and was blown away by all the back-and-forth debates going on over there and all the history being brought up between all these posters. I have posted to this site, and ONLY this site, but I have read comments over at Eonline's Negative Thread. I never signed up to post over there but basically just read for amusement purposes. From what I hear, it sounds as if it's getting a little out of control over there as well with some of the comments being made. When I first came here to UM, I read comments for a while before deciding to jump on board. I read at Eonline as well, but I was not going to post to 2 different boards or more than 2 for that matter. I don't have that much time to waste on KUNK. Anyway, I was becoming very discouraged with KU constantly throwing NK in everyone's face. Anything and everything was about NK according to him. That's fine. I have no problem with a man admiring his wife (if that's the case, and I do say IF). However, I do have a problem with ANY performer letting it be known that each song is about his wife and his adoring love for her and so on and so on. I was drawn to his music several years ago because of the passion I seen in his performances and his older music. I'm not saying I didn't like the newer music because I did, but it was starting to get ruined with every song devoted to his wife. No, I don't have to like her. He's the one married to her, not me, but I shouldn't have to constantly hear about a performer's wife. It's not her I'm interested in hearing about on a constant basis. It's his music I'm interested in, and I don't want to interpret the song with the vision of that woman embedded in my brain. As a result of my aggravation with him doing this, I was slowly becoming a "fading fan." When I got here and started reading everyone's theories on his marriage, his career, her career, etc., it made me stop and think about how this marriage was becoming a little too "put on" so to speak. By the way, I call them theories because I don't believe anyone is 100% correct about most things. I didn’t say ALL. I said MOST. I am one of them people who can look at almost everything in life from both sides. I have no way of knowing what's fact and what's fiction on certain things and maybe keeping that in mind is what helps me to keep an open mind about everything. However, I found myself after a short period of time defending myself to fansies and exchanging harsh words, which is not like me at all. That was a red flag right there. It's ridiculous to argue with someone when most of the posters, and not just this site but all sites, only have theories and not facts (I exclude you maclen because I know you like to post statistics, which don't lie). That's not to say there aren't a select few that have knowledge, but I'm a person who don't present information without facts so I have a hard time turning theories into anything more than a theory when it comes to stuff like this.

CONCLUSION - As most of you know, I had a family member that was terminally ill for several months, so this blog was obviously the last thing on my mind, but I eventually returned. Since I've been back I've come to the realization that life is too short to try to keep up with this whole charade of KUNK. KU is married to NK. He claims he loves her, and I for one tend to believe he does because I think he would leave and not live in a loveless marriage otherwise. He knows his career has taken a downhill tumble, but yet he still talks about his extreme love for this woman. I don't know if it's real or if it's fake with any certainty. All I know is that it is what it is and that's that. The same with his career. It is what it is. His audience numbers or cd numbers don't affect me as a fan or any other performer for that matter. I will spend money to see a local band if I like the music and have just as much fun watching a band with a crowd of 20 versus 20,000. That has no impact on me and who I like. What does impact me is the constant mention of "baby girl." Now, it seems that this has tapered off with the few videos I've seen on youtube, so maybe with any luck he is getting the hint to leave her out of his performances and just give the people what they came to hear, which is his music and not constant reminders about the songs being about "baby girl." The only other thing that ever really bothered me was the theory that he was playing along with all this for money and self-gain. While I can clearly see that side of it, I would lose respect for anybody, performer or otherwise, who would do that. I can't say with certainty, but I believe he loves her and that this is the real deal for him. I hope I'm right and that he does love NK because I don't think even he would allow children to be brought into such a selfish game if that were the case. Life is too short to play games for self-gain. Love is far more valuable. With all that being said, I realized there's not much left I can say on this blog. There's no theories I can prove to be fact or fiction, nor do I really care one way or the other. It's been a pleasure talking with all of you on here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect everyone's opinions, but I also expect respect for my own. I may return to post, or I may not. That is something that is up in the air right now. The only thing I know for certain is that life is too short trying to figure out whether this marriage is real, whether his career will crash and burn, or if KU will resurrect himself into the performer everyone fell in love with years ago. Stay safe and well everyone! I may see you all again. Who knows!!

Fading Fan...I'm sorry for your loss. I do know that when you care for and lose a loved one things like this become trivial. These people don't change anything in your own life. KU may have touched you with his music but when it comes to your personal loss he is not the main focus by a long shot.

I understand becoming discouraged I have been there so many times believe me. But I hang on not b/c I am a fan. Not at all for I am not a fan. I had a friend a very good friend and I do know what happened to that friend. I post b/c I know with certainty Moosie reads these posts and have people read them for her. So I post here and on E to let her know I am here to tell what I can.

Of course I have accepted the fact that people think, Oh she is one of those nutty people that just want to be close to a fameous person. That's ok....you are right when you say, they have a right to their opinion. It really doesn't bother me b/c I know who I am and what I am. And as long as KU is in this I am going to stay right here as long as possible.

I started reading E probably the 2nd year it came into view. Things were bad and I was not able to talk to my friend any longer.

I found that E gave me so much information and places to research that I could find out things much quicker than stumbling through the web pages entertainment columns. Since I was a novice and still am so it is just quicker.

Now I post to burn Moosie's bippy. To irritate to let her know I am not going to stop. I'm sure that sounds drastic, I know. But as you know by reading I have not changed my retoric all these years and will not until what ever happens, happens and all comes out in the wash or this contractual hookup is done.

I hope it is soon b/c your right FF life is way to short and I am not a spring chicken by any means. I have been saying wait and see for six years now. I guess that is all anyone can say and in the meantime trying to follow along to see what is the next move.

Sorry didn't mean to be so verbose.

I hope you post when you can and live happy FF that is our right God graced us with hope and through our hope to find happiness.

Yes, Fading Fan, noticing a while ago that the interest by even the fansie's on the careers of kidman and orb has so clearly waned...it would only make logical sense that the interest by the skeptics would also lag. Your'e right, Fading Fan...I lean more on the data and stats...as I mentioned on numerous occasions, whether orb "truly" loves kidman...or that they are as happy and content as they portray themselves in public is of little consequence to me personally. It's only of consequence as how it may pertain to what they try to claim in their PR BS that they clearly throw out into the public domain. For example, early on in their hook up, they claimed that their "relationship" was private and not for public comsumption...but now evidently orb has based his ENTIRE career on his "marriage!" Kidman originally claimed that she was VERY protective of her first daughter...how she was so reluctant to let the paps get photos of her daughter in public...but now she has NO problem parading her kids through her airport photo ops. I do take issue with them when their obviously "public" contradictions clearly do not match their that PR BS they are constantly trying to shovel! Now as to the issue you stated about the E! negative thread...it would seem that ONE new commenter has got the conservation removed from the main issue of orb and kidman...and more on the "qualifications" of each commenter on what they can or cannot post or comment on. There is TOO MUCH "self defensive justifiction" for what is being posted by the commenters. And it seems the debate got steered away from orb and kidman...and onto the commenters themselves! Which is what was a classic technique of the fansie's who would comment over here...try and get the focus off kidman and orb...and get the focus on the "true" intentions of the commentors. I'm not saying that IS WHAT is going on over there...I'm simply saying that is what MY impression of what is going on over there...so I simply do not involve myself with it. So, again Fading Fan, hope you well. I'm sure the blog will hear from you from time to time...if not...it's been fun hashing...and re-hashing the careers of these two!

So, here...2 whole days later...a review of orb's jersey gig...

http://www.nj.com/entertainment/music/index.ssf/2011/07/keith_urban_gets_close_with_th.html

Keith Urban gets close with the crowd at Prudential Center

...so the "review" starts of with the usual "CURRENT" meme...orb "kept" his promise to "get closer" to his audience...he ran around the arena on his "satellite stages"...yada yada yada...yes, it's all been already repeated now for the PAST 13 or 14 gigs! Now, onto the more important attendance...there's this...

"Thursday night's crowd was shy of capacity, but those in attendance made up for the few empty seats by showering the star with applause and adoration."

..ah yes, "just shy of capacity"...most definately...NOT A SELLOUT...and most definately "code" for "lackluster crowd!" It's an ongoing problem with reviewers of orb's shows that NOT MANY can get a specific number...again, UNLIKE reviewers of swifty's or chesney's shows. Now why would I believe the reviewer is simply "hedgeing" the orb's attendance crowd with that "just shy of capacity"...why I believe it's a masked description of a mediocre crowd...is this...

"but those in attendance made up for the few empty seats by showering the star with applause and adoration."

...WHY mention empty seats if it was only SHY of capacity? And again, how MANY EMPTY SEATS? As I mentioned before, the Prudential center is 19.5k max cap...NOW... if it was JUST SHY of 19.5k cap...HOW WOULD you even NOTICE empty seats...IF it wasnt actually a MASSIVE amounts of empty seats!? Clearly, there were VERY massive and very noticable empty seats...that's why it was mentioned along with the hazy, "just shy of capacity"...I put this as anther BS review...trying to cover the pathetic audience numbers...while trying to flak for the orb's stale and tedious show!

Hatti and Maclen. Thanks for your well wishes, and I'll pop in once in a while to see what's new and exciting. Like I said, I may post again but there's just too many things I need to focus on right now and KUNK isn't one of them. Oh and Maclen, I am now able to view the boards over at Eonline. Oh yes maclen a little defensive are they? They have to make it sound like although shy of a full audience a great time was had by all. I will say this as long as KU keeps to the point that being entertainment instead of the church of Moosie his audience will enjoy his show.

The funny thing is....they can't trust him b/c just as the audience gets comfortable with the show being about fun and music he drops the Moosie bomb and lets the air out of the monkey's balloon!! ((giggles)))

So here's the rundown of orb's show tonight... seemingly, NO account of his Friday show...

http://blog.timesunion.com/localarts/keith-urban-times-union-center-71611/17247/

Keith Urban @ Times Union Center, 7/16/11
July 17, 2011

"He sang from the stage, he sang from little side platforms and he sang from the center of the room. At the end of the evening, he even sang from the cheap seats..."

"he invited four lucky folks onstage for a little instant “American Idol.”

"Displaying good, but tart humor, Urban responded by saying, “That’s a nice t-shirt, you should check out the music, too,(HA! not bloody likely!) it’s pretty good.”

...orb has the imagination and the creativity of a gnat...

"and he rewarded the faithful with songs that nodded more towards Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi than Hank Williams

...orb REWARDED the faithful with Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi? Note to the clueless...orb IS supposedly COUNTRY...why would they go to hear Bryan Adam or Bon jovi? BECAUSE it's PART OF orbs PR BS to try and gain a WIDER audience! Which gets me to the next quote...

"Urban also doled out plenty of Bruce Springsteen-worthy guitar solos,..."

...orb wants to be "the Boss" now...you know the greatest live performer of the past 4 decades! HA! good one!
So, now the clincher...WAY at the very bottom of the review

"The crowd: A nearly packed house of rabid, singalong fans."

..yes, "a NEARLY packed house"...well, how packed? Like sardines...or like a golf ball in a bowling ball bag?! So, "JUST SHY OF CAPACITY" in the Boss's land of Jersey..."NEARLY PACKED" in Albany. I expect his next gig will be, "just this side of a baker's dozen!" Hilarious...

Concert review: Taylor Swift at the Bell Centre; July 14, 2011

"The sound of 14,500 voices belting out the chorus of You Belong With Me,..."

...yeah, an ACTUAL attendence number...none of that "coded"..."just shy of capacity" or "nearly full." In orb's case...JUST as I suspected after the first two shows were revealed to be LESS than stellar attendences... the question being, are his shows simply "half full or half empty"... the answer is most DEFINATELY... half empty!

Yes, Fading Fan...well it isnt exactly attacks on each other at the E! Negative thread...it's more simply of getting steered off the topic of orb and kidman...and into dicussing what "qualifications" each of the commenters have to post what they post or WHAT commenters can post. I say, just say your peace and move onto the next relevent point. Now, the E! Positive thread is a joke! Only one...last lonely commenter left...simply posting articles and pics and ENDLESS twit stalking postings! Yes, it's...in the morning orb and kidman are in LA...at noon there in NY...and by dinner time there in Nashville! It would seem some of the fansie's from the now defunct anti-skeptic blogs migrated over to the JJ comment sections...where evidently they can "VOTE" to get negative comments "removed" from the comments...but you can simply click on a link to see them anyways...but I guess it satisfies the fansie's pathelogical and pointless need to try and rid the innertubes of any criticism!

Clearly Hatti, the orb fansies at the show CHOSE to be there...they are fans...OF COURSE they will shout and scream and jump to anything orb does. And I'm sure that the swifty and chesney audiences believe that they just gave the best show they ever saw. And I believe there is a reason why you can find actual attendence numbers to swifty's and chesney's shows...and you rarely see them of orb's shows. Swifty and chesney are selling impressive amounts of tickets to their shows...and the orb CLEARLY isnt!
Now your absolutely right about kidman, Hatti...she has NO intention of going out on tour with orb. 15 shows in...not one appearence by kidman at his shows. That "birthday appearence" on the tour bus was simply a twit fabrication. So there is DEFINATELY alot of smoke and mirrors going on with orb's pathetic tour!

Yes maclen...smoke and mirrors to say the least. But to his fans for him not to say Baby Girl...my wife....my savior...makes traveling to his show all worthwhile!! ((giggles)))

as much as you want to take this
I would see Keith still before I would ever go see Taylor or Chesney again. Keith is just more talented even when he is mundane.

What is Kidman going to do when Uncle Rupie is gone? Where is she going to plant stories and play the press?- it looks bad but he is scummy enough to survive this
but as we have often said here
Nicold dear karma is a bitch!

Oh Tara you certainly hit the nail on the head!!! :D

Now it doesn't look good for RM at all. Therefore it will not be good for Moosie. How is she going to twist arms without Uncle Rupie to put the squeeze on.

When we hear what the parlimentary big wigs have to say it seems Rupie has threatened to ruin them through his news media if they didn't agree with his politics!! Now that's power!!!

So now that he is going to be investigated again over here maybe the FEDs will really turn over the rocks before they look tainted too.

I would say this is the end of all those mag covers and articles and movies that all the other actors run from. I think retirement is the next step for Moosie.

She can sit on her porch at the Cattle Stud watching the coal mining next door and waving to the tour buses!! ((giggles))

Double jeopardy couldn't happen to a more deserving pair!! ;)

ye gods. . . .

That is the same running suit she's had all this time.

Call me old fashioned, but what is left? You can't cut it off and boil it, no amount of disinfectant could possibly clean it up, it's utterly, completely useless at this point.

There is no way she has some contract with this guy, she loves him. There is no way you would stay with some idiot unless you were mauled by the monster of love. Unless she really has the world's lowest self esteem, which, if this is true, they are perfect for each other, judging by his history of self-destructive behaviour.

Why aren't people afraid of catching stuff? Does everyone already have stuff?

So for those people that thought skeptics were way off in trying to explain how powerful some of these folks that Nicold gets into bed with and how it could be possible to manipulate public opinion.. keep watching what is happening in England.

hoosierlady said...

Not that they are not powerful or rich enough to have it done, but
WHO WOULD BOTHER?

Please see story above. Eventually this guy will kill himself.

Fake babies? Really?

Well hoosier....You may feel that some may be a little over the top but when it comes to RM I will say this..He...has been the person behind Moosie and all her moves. I don't know what she has on him but I do believe after seeing his editor and chief ( a grammar school education only) it does fall into place!!!

Yes powerful people can kill or destroy reputations so I guess some of us have not been too far off. I can't wait till it all comes down!!

I know one thing my face won't be red! ((giggles)))

I don't know about fake babies but faked pregnancies - I think yeah it could have happened..
I think Kidman had a thing with one of Murdochs sons and Rupie was much more powerful than even some of the organizations that Nicole's former husband associates with. So perhaps protection and we saw with the whole Amanda thing when Kidman wants something (happy marriage faithful appearing husband) she will call in her protectors to get it.

Kidman's career was already toast before murdoch's recent meltdown. Clearly, "hacking" phones of celebs is par for the course in the industry...celebs themselves are in "the game" to get the most exposure and recognition they can finagle. So there is alot of "schmoozing" going on on all sides. BUT...not until murdoch's sleazy practices was revealed involving a non celeb young girl who was kidnapped and murdered was their scumbag involvement...which included "tampering" with the young girls voicemail that in fact hindered the investigation into her disapearence ...did it finally explode in murdochs face. Sure, murdochs' tenatacles MAY have been hounding hugh grant and jude law...they I'm sure when it was going on, were more concerned with being considered for film roles at murdoch's Fox studio. I guess at this point in hugh grant's career, he is NOT so concerned with helping and being front and center with revealing the sleazy practices of murdoch. And I doubt, after the debacle of the VERY expensive flop "Autralia" was kidman going to get another starring role in a Fox studio blockbuster anyways. But more than likely...the only effect of kidman's closeness to murdoch...some studios or production heads may think twice with hiring kidman for movie roles...simply out of concern for ANY possible future "public" fallout concerning kidman and murdoch.

Didn't Fox searchlight distribute and put up the money for Rabid Hole?
