Good PR? Or Bad? Kidman reveals a bit too much...

Nicole Kidman Marches For Babies

Entertainment Tonight
Published: April 20, 2009

Nicole Kidman showed up to March for Babies with fellow Nashville residents. While there, the actress talked about her own baby, Sunday, and how her family spent their Easter holiday in Australia.

Nicole said she returned to her and her husband Keith Urban's homeland so their daughter Sunday could meet Keith's father for the first time. Nicole said her baby and husband were now home in Nashville recovering from the trip, while she attended the event.

March for Babies raises money for babies who need help to survive and thrive, a cause that Nicole says is very important to her.

Another video with the always eloquent Kidman... what does working timelessly mean? She can't speak without a script, can she?

Yeah, I just commented on this over at NK's Journey...kidman obviously just decided to allow the orbs father to see his granddaughter... after 8 months...well, they were flying over to spend Easter with her family anyway...why not allow gramps urban a peek of the kid at last...and...kidman is "charity" collecting again...so it used to be Breast cancer awareness...then battered women...(simple promo for when she made the movie Human stain as a battered woman)...her half assed exploitation of the UN Honorary Ammbassorship...she appears at press conferences whenever she's shilling for another of her failed movies...now an appearence at a "March for babies" and hooking up for March of dimes...so do you figure she is having film production problems after all, that she needs these charity photo ops to keep herself in the news cycles now that her career is dead?

Well, with this late story today rehashing the Hollywood Reporter story from 18 days ago...

http://www.killermovies.com/r/rabbithole/news/2099_Aaron_Eckhart_In_Rabbit_Hole_Talks.html

Aaron Eckhart In 'Rabbit Hole' Talks...that eckhart is still in "talks" to be in the film...(the HR.com story from all the way back on the 2nd, he was in "negotiations")...does hint that the film may yet fall apart...hence the quick... tense and frailed juant into LAX a few days ago. Unless kidman is making at least 2 or 3 films a year..she needs to arrange something to keep herself in the news...what other life does she know? It's certainly not mother and wife.

Ha! Hilarious! I once commented on this blog that all you had to do was look at kidman's younger sister, Antonia, to get an idea of what kidman would actually look like without all the facial procedures..and now here it is pointed out in juxaposition...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1172337/Meet-Nicoles-younger-sister-Is-Ms-Kidman-look-like-Hollywood-treatment.html

...side by side, it is obvious that antonia has had no...botox...rhinoplasty...lip injections...chin inplant.... kidman simply looks like her entire face has been "sanded down" into a bland and characterless slab of stone...and as plastic as her personality.

Maclen -

that link you provided has now been deleted by the Daily Mail. Interesting! Wonder why ...

Some people over at "NK's Journey" have agreed that she is now so plastic looking it is scary! The new photo from the "March for Babies" would indicate a totally wrinkle free face and doll like features .... I can see Nic heading for Michael Jackson territory sooner or later. She no longer resembles her former self. Jocelyn, perhaps?

Choice, I was able to view the Daily Mail link... I shrunk it to make it easier? http://tinyurl.com/dhaps6

Also, thanks for the SIDS info. She really is a trip, isn't she?

Thanks Urban Myths for that.

I could be wrong but it looks like a certain friend of Nicole's has started to go down the botox road now. And while he's at it, is following Keith's orang-utang skin as well. Never thought Hugh would do any of this:

You are right about jackman, choice, his forehead does seem to be looking pretty kind of squirrly...and as for kidman's own facial work, thanks by the way, Urban Myths, for simplifying that link to the antonia article...it seems that story is getting alot of attention on the online news circuit...I read about 6 to 7 pickups on it on google news. It must be open season on highlighting kidman's ridiclous "transmogrifying" face...being that she is so desperate to keep that sandblasted face in the spotlight..but it cant help to be mocked for it increasingly on the nets.

well...so Ive been wondering how the orb's new cd, Defying "Gravitas", did in it's third week of sales...well, I can't find anything on it's performance ...and according to this article...

http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSTRE53K5VY20090422

...certainly the cd has fallen off the top 10...#1 is hanna montana soundtrack...# No. 2 was Day26's "Forever In a Day..."Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" slipped to No. 3 (so much for all the country albums "domination' of the top 200...although rascal flatts fall from #1 to #3 not as painful as the orb's #1 to #7 fall)..."Twilight" soundtrack #4..."Now 30" compilation held at No. 5...Jadakiss' "The Last Kiss" fell three to No. 6...Silversun Pickups "Swoon"at No. 7...Lady GaGa's "The Fame" rose two to No. 8...Jason Aldean's "Wide Open" dropped five to No. 9...and Taylor Swift's "Fearless" fell four to No. 10. Nothing on the orb. Now this mtv article...

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1609768/20090422/cyrus__miley.jhtml

..mentions that Target stores...I mean Princes target exclusive cd fell to #15...but no mention of how the orbs cd did and what position is in. So I guess Ill have to wait till the Billboard Top 200 list is updated to see if my prediction that the orb may fall off the top 20 list before the end of this month actually occurs!

Maclen - CD shelves over here in Oz, with copies of Defying Gravity, have stopped moving too. Wonder if he will tour over here?

That article on Antonia vs. Latex Face is too funny (thanks again for that. I hope Antonia doesn't go down the same path as Latex Face, although she is very thin too (except for the Kidman tummy)

"If?"

Yeah, hoosier, when the orbs cd fell from #1 to #7 in it's second week, I commented at that rate, the orb's cd could fall off the top 20 before the end of this month...which was two weeks...now one week away. It seems the orb's "teen dream" cd...the "sunny and positive" ode to frivolous and juvenile emotions...an album said by a few reviewers would appeal to a wider ranging audience because it was so light and fluffy...looks to be an epic fail...as I've said before, kidman is so well accustomed to. The orb seems to have dropped out of the cd selling scene and is fading fast...and it seems we were all correct about it...the cd was so much "fluff"... so fluffy that the winds of the biz has blown it clean out of sight! Most certainly, if the orbs cd fell under Prince's Target exclusive cd at #15..after having barely outsold Target stores it's first week...that would just be beyond embarrassment! We shall see....

It seems antonia doesnt have the pathological need as kidman does to be embarrassingly overexposed, with the constant and dreadful films... the commercials...the arranged photo ops...antonia seems far more "grounded"...content to have a modest tv career in OZ...and again, not an overexposed, botox and lip injecting, constantly jetsetting across the globe, abandoning a few kids along the way...but, if she suddenly hooks up with some lalaland, tabloid infested shallow playa wanting to constantly "make the scene"...you'll know she's taken the kidman route to career 101 that the orb chose...

Thanks for the numbers, music...if that is correct, thats about another 60% drop in sales...and it seems the orb was at least able to fend off Target stores and remain below Prince's #15 position at #12...but again, just barely.

From Chanel Number 5 to Indian soft drinks...how utterly traumatizing it is to be La Kidman!

Audrey Tautou, star of "Amelie," takes to French screens this week as the legendary designer Coco Chanel and, coincidentally or not, also takes over from Nicole Kidman as frontwoman for Chanel Number 5 perfume.(Snip)

Next month, she will also appear as the mysterious heroine of a two minute advertisement for Chanel Number 5 shot by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, director of "Amelie," the film that propelled her to stardom in 2001.

The short film, which took four months to make, shows Tautou pursued by a handsome stranger on the Orient Express train to Istanbul. It will replace a similarly elaborate mini-film starring Australian Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman.

"From Chanel Number 5 to Indian soft drinks...how utterly traumatizing it is to be La Kidman!"

Ha! Well, as has been obvious in the lalaland biz, the sad reality is simply that its out with the old and in with the new...as unfair as that may be, it is the nature of the biz and has been for the past almost 100 yrs of moviemaking. But yet, they still go and want to be "stars" and want all the attention...then whine and complain once they "make it" about all the attention when it isnt only the fab photo ops they want to hand feed to the masses. So I dont have very much simpathy for kdiman or any other celeb when its time to "fawn" over the young new up and coming starlets...but it surely doesnt help when kidman is a pretty obvious example that this biz does in fact love "youth and vigor" when she patently overdoes the farcial facial produres in a vain and pathetic attempt to stay in the game. Kidman is finished..she at least had a few good years, despite being a dreadful box office failure...a mediocre actress and worse, a bland and dullard personality trying to pass off as some kind of deep and thoughtful "artist". So all thats left is a ginger ale commerical and surely a bit part in woodys film...and perhaps a shoe string "kidman faux-produced film" I wouldnt at all be surprised if it simply crumbled away in incompetant disinterest.

So, just a little late night musings...on the subject of the orbs declining cd on the charts...it seems his "offical" touring doesnt begin until May 7...

http://www.livedaily.com/news/18864.html

Keith Urban ready to 'Escape' for US tour... not for another 2 weeks yet, but already his latest cd which was released 3 weeks ago has fallen from a very weak #1...to a large drop to #7 its second week and to it current postion of #12 in it's third week. I figure by the time the orb "officially" begins his "Escape from botoxland" tour his cd will be perhaps already be out of the top 20 on the charts. And as the above article points out, the orb has been on what has been dubbed, a "No Frills" mini-tour. It seems this mini tour has not been able to muster a stronger performance of the cd sales...which begs to ask, does the orb even expect the "offical" tour to make any difference? As is plainly clear, the orbs fanbase has fallen to about half of what it once was...I see the orb working very hard on his extensive tour for an album that will be DOA by the time he steps out to support it. Sure, "#1 album" looks good on his resume, (even in a weak week of cd sales) but I can guarentee his record label will not be too impressed if the cd cannot even reach one mill sold.

Maclen, Keith may still be able to save DG, album sales generally pick up when Keith begins touring. I have heard some of the songs live and they are alot more appealing live then they are on the album, but then again, Keith has always been a better live then on CD.

Also if they can release the proper song on the Album as a single, again his album sales will pick up. Honestly, they didn't pick the right songs off the Pain album to be singles, so I think that caused the album to lose momentum.

While I don't think this was Keith's best effort, I really believe that Keith is just coasting, I do feel the album is better then the Pain album.

Imahick said...

I agree that DG is better than the LP&TWCT CD. It lacks in variety, but it is still a good album.

However the loss of momentun for the CD is revealing ... he has lost alot of fans and he'll have to work hard and show commitment to his career / music to re-build. His tour will help, as long as he put 100% into the effort. My fear is that he will be unable to put as much effort into his career as he needs to, while catering to NK. We'll see.

He is still a great live act. I don't care what anyone says. On a bad day, Keith is better than most.

Certainly based on the orb's past 5 years in sales decline...and the weak performance of his latest cd, Defying Gravity, I would say that it will be lucky if it sold about a million copies...give or take a few 100k. I believe the orb's decline is pretty much set no matter what he does...tours for 3 or 4 months...releases singles. Just as I could note kidman's very limited appeal...note her basic box office performance...kidman was always praised by some for being able to open a film to about 20 mil...but that was her ceiling. Sure, when she had a modest budgeted film like Interpreter or stepford or Bewitched, the films would still petered out at around 60 or 70 mil US gross at that 20 mil opening. But she could never overachieve that ceiling 20 mil opening...so when she was in the director and costar sam elliot admitted $250 mil costing golden compass, and it only grossed $28 mil it's opening weekend, or when the $130 mill costing Australia grossed only 14 mil in it's special holiday released 3 days, and only $22 mill in that holiday 5 day weekend...those are recognized massive flops. Unfortunately for the orb, he hasnt been as prolific in his cd releases as kidman has been in her film releases...( note this: in the past 5 years, going back to 2004, the orb has released only 3 albums and a g-hits cd...while kidman has released 10 films)...and unfortunately for the orb, I believe the music business is far more volatile and subject to fads and new bands and singers than the movie biz is with films. The orb has neglected his music which is why he is in decline.
