Boards, Blogs and Other Business

Just talk amongst yourselves if this doesn't matter to you...

Many of you are here because you heard about this site from a fan board. There actually was briefly a thread on Monkeyville with a link to the blog, but of course that didn’t last long. But other people have found us and spread the word on other boards. While we appreciate that, and we really do, this brings us to the subject of boards.

Why talk about the boards? Because even on private boards there are people there who are there for the wrong reasons. I have been on at least eight Keith Urban boards. Some were really great and some were worship boards. I have been banned from one major board, thanks Teener!

I left one board when other posters ganged up on one of the four original skeptics. I have been asked to join a few others but I don't have the time to give to that so I have declined. Currently, I belong to two private Keith Urban boards. One is a little more active than the other but both have their strengths. Private boards are places where the membership is limited. Both have administrators who care about the content and about the members. But even as great as these boards are, they still have people on them who have agendas.

What is an agenda? Well, it can be anything from someone wanting to gossip to someone who is paid by either Camp Urban or Camp Kidman to post comments or "monitor" the board. Oh, you don't believe that happens? Well, think again. It does. I know because things I have been accused of having an agenda about get back to others who aren't on the boards I am posting on. How would they know unless someone is monitoring the stuff on the board, or someone is on there to discredit another poster? That is a pretty heavy accusation but it’s true.

For the most part on boards the real news comes from private messages and e-mail networks. This is where those that want to know, who are there on a paid mission, have to access, but few get access. Once someone is suspect they are either eased out or dropped. I know I have been dropped. Why? Because I refused to spread a rumor on a board. I don't do that. Many do, but what is the point except to spread an agenda? Plus rumors end up on the public E! board all the time and are often brought back to the boards.

Let’s talk about the E! board. The E! board is fine place to visit but I don't want to post there. It is as public as can be and because of its public nature what is put on there can be very damaging. I am surprised that the lawyers haven't got on there as they did on the Velvet Rope. The Rope was superior to E! in many ways but its Nashville section is now a shell of what it used to be. As you read E! just take into account what is being said, who is saying it and the time it is being said. As for your own board think about who is posting, what are they posting, how often they are on and posting or just on and not posting. It can be eye opening!

We are interested in how you heard about this blog. So please use the comments section to tell us. Also, is there something that you would like to see addressed in a blog that hasn't been? While we have the gestation lull, and Keith and the incubator are holed up in Nashville, let’s talk about stuff that we haven't before.

Believe me, you're not the only one who's been ousted from private boards. There's a handful here who have...just because we happen to question the validity of a rumor gossip monger. If we have questions - they don't want to hear it. Though I'm one of the many here that often refute a lot of negativity that's written here about Keith and Nicole, I'm not a bunny by any means. That being said, I think this board allows for both skeptics and bunnies to debate many issues and it's done (for the most part) in a mature way. Thanks for having this blog - I actually do think it's quite entertaining.

Very good advice for supporters and people who are on the fence...especially at the E! Board.
Let us not forget skeptics over there claiming positive posters have an agenda, and are everyone from Wendy Day to Monkeyville staff to random bloggers.

It goes both ways.

"How would they know unless someone is monitoring the stuff on the board, or someone is on there to discredit another poster? That is a pretty heavy accusation but it’s true."

Easy. Anyone can post under 10 different names on 10 different boards. No one truly knows who is talking to who off the boards or blogs. No one knows who is reading what. It doesnt have to be a paid shill working for KUNK.

i found UM after reading a random comment on the cmt board.

as for e!, i wouldn't waste my time posting alongside those wackos.

And I wouldn't touch the CMT board with a ten-foot pole. I've had to deal with a few of the pyschos that post on there. There are plenty of lights burnt out on those Christmas trees!

E! & CMT boards are full of the extreme whacko's, Monkeynuts & KUFanatics are regular whacko's, the VR doesn't allow anything good or juicy in the Nashville Forum (but the regular & Film/TV forum can get down-right nasty at times) and the rest of us keep to our "other" boards and pester each other here on this blog.

there's no board that's wacko free, but e! takes it to another level. they do a complete disservice to their cause. honestly, who's going to take them seriously?

I used to post on KUFans.com but I made several friends through that site that I wound up just emailing personally with instead of posting there where I couldn't speak freely. I have been a member of Keith's fan club since before it was computerized and I have posted on MV 12 times total because of the absolute rabbit humping that goes on there. Basically I just stick to the "other site" which I visit daily and enjoy so much I can hardly stand it !! I can honestly say I don't know what I would do without my fellow skeptic friends. IT would be absolutely horrible if I couldn't go and post my true feelings about Keith and not get beaten down for talking inappropriately about him. BTW KUFANS.com Keith is a object of sexual infatuation and it's OK to talk about it. Why do you think he wears those damn jeans and rolls that shoulder? For our minds, I think not.....

We live in a world that worships celebrity. Today actors and musicians are treated and fetted as if they were gods. (If you don't believe me, just look at the shit most of them get away with. OJ anyone?) Fan-dom today takes on an almost religous fervour, where if you are not "for" then you are automatically "against". Some "fans" have proclaimed themselves as self appointed priests of the "temple of celebrity" and believe it is their god given right to banish, bully and control us to believe what they believe. The only thing that will begin to turn the tide against this mass hysteria is people such as yourselves speaking up, and speaking proud. Don't hide, don't be afraid. Speak your truth...and highlight how pathetically ignorant others are who choose to be herded into the dark with the other sheep. I'm not afraid to speak my truth, and be dammned everyone else, because I'm sleeping like a baby tonight.

And I'm not afraid to speak the truth either. You are a thief, stealing materials from other fan sites.

The E! board has turned into a haven for the delusional, deranged and despicable "fans". What a joke!

KUFans. Someone had posted on the site that they were hinted at being a plant for Keith to keep everything positive. The had a link, so I clicked on the link and I have been hooked ever since.

I have sent the link to a few friends of mine who are skepitcal about this as I am and are tired of the happy, shiny stuff being posted elsewhere.

Senora...get over it. Last I heard NKU didn't own PEOPLE magazine.

I didn't realize that both Jared and PEOPLE were on NK's payroll and had an affiliation with NKU!! But by the sounds of it, that's the case.

Speaking of delusional. Sonora...you should take you medications and relax, dear. I think you will feel MUUUCH better afterward. No more accusations of hatred and nastiness after your medication levels are adjusted. LOL

Smart Girl said...

Give a rest sonora...your comment just proved my point. Want to bitch at me? go back to NKF and do it, because here I just want to read what intelligent people have to say.

The NKU member PAID for the magazine and scanned the picture. Per Anna's definition, that NKU member OWNS the scan!

It's best that YOU stick to your own advise and take YOUR medication. As for me, ocean waves are always relaxing. And having a massage with the sound of ocean waves near by is even better. Try it sometime.

Oh spare me sobora People magazine is a publicists wet dream. Wendy Day practically writes the copy for any Kidman article. Don't believe me? Re read Keith's cover story. The reporter did most of that interview by telephone and you can tell it was scripted. The danger with boards is you don't know why someone is posting what they are. Are they there to stir the pot or take the focus off of something else?

looks like the MOD has taken care of the E board.. Or was it Kidman and her peeps?
