You expected a party?

Welcome little Sunday. There, we are being nice. We like your dad a great deal from time to time. Your mother however....

The child has been born and now we will all get comfy and settle down to Sunday Rose Palooza. A whirlwind of PR and photos and stories and everything we don't really need to know about young princess Kidman Urban. Nicole has spawned and now we will be subjected to more inane superficial and unnecessary stories about her first word, first smile, first diaper change, etc. If the baloney over on People.com is any indication we are going to have a special issue devoted to the princess. I mean how many times do we have to listen to Leann Rimes drone on about Kidman and Urban and their magical ability to be good parents? I say let's ask Bella Cruise about Kidman and see what she says. It will come in buckets and it will last for as long as Kidman can push it. That means until Gwen gives birth which will last before the real birth of the year…the Jolie-Pitt twins. Sunday will just be another kid on the block when those two are born and Kidman must know this.

While we are all warm and fuzzy like the hair on Sunday's little head, some things have been brought to our attention that seem to just be a tad bit off with this great story. On Sunday (the day - not the baby), Kidman and Keith were seen at a bookstore at 4:50 PM. Why tell us the exact time? Why not say just before five or late afternoon? Then we had Keith picking up a workout-suited Kidman from the yoga place. Last l checked it is summer, even in Nashville. Why the fall workout wear? Also Keith didn't get stellar reviews on Saturday at the big fest with Kenny. Now many who were there said he was good, yet others said his voice was off, maybe even strained. Why? He hasn't been singing. Whatever could have caused that? And there are a lot of whispers about what was yelled at the couple as they left the show. So were the loved up blurbs a tactic to take the heat off Keith and his performance on Saturday?

Let's look at the birth… When was she born? Why wasn't the hospital named until today? Name a celebrity child and I just bet you can find the time and place of birth. I bet you can even find out how long the baby was… but not with young Sunday. The speculation is continuing about the unusual choice of the name. Grandpa Kidman said he and Grandma suggested it - the Aussie Sunday Reed makes rather an unusual role model for a baby, non? And where were Kidman's PR wonks? The big news was shared by Keith's press people and by daddy himself at his web site .net, not .com. So like everything tied up to these two we get a bunch of unanswered questions about the baby. Why? Like everything else with these two people, and now dragging the baby in, it smacks of being false; of being fake.

But Fame is a mighty drug and it takes more and more to get that fix even when it comes in the form of a little baby.

The "unanswered questions" are none of anyone business. Its just that for some reason people care what hospital celebs babies are born at and the papers are willing to publish it. Who cares how long the baby is? She was born at a normal weight which is what the skeptics were harping on day in and day out. Its interesting, those who arent living in a "skeptic fog" are commenting on how normal this birth was and how un-diva like it all unfolded. Unlike a certain someone who hasnt given birth. And if you look past your nose many country artists have wished the couple well and commented how lucky this baby is to have two loving parents. Meryl Streep said she was very happy for Nicole at a press conference.

You all will never rest until Kidman is dead.

Well, I certainly see a visible line in the sand for the saturation of PR from kidman...no pregnancy pics the last few weeks... fuzzy info no doubt released in planted stories, all of which will culminate in another predictable and tired magazine piece to shill her next film. But just as last years "sensational" vanity fair piece replete with recyled gossip stories... "lost pregnancy"..."secret engagement"...etc... I expect the baby issue to be just as disinteresting and mundane. And just as her trifeca of movie flops last year... her only serving of "Australia" later this year will be just as ignored and mediocre...despite all he PR finagling team kidman throws out... or should I say...regurgitates onto her usual media sources. And in my mind, the failure of her next film despite all this lackluster PR shilling , will no doubt ensure that most of that long list of "scheduled" movie roles she has lined up, the monroe movie remake... the broadway produced and starrer rabbit hole... another supernatural thriller... and all the rest... that goes back at least 3 years will not come to fruition... or most likely without kidman. All this temporary attention does not always result in success, and kidman has proven that for the past 5 straight years.

You know, RC, I read your posts and am amazed at how hateful you sound toward the posters here. But to say we want her dead is evil.

You need help and I suggest you get it.

I want this baby to be loved and cared for. I only hope that Keith plays a dominant parental role, because I am not satisfied that NK is capable of the sacrifice that is needed from a good mother. The talk of her being in rehearsals for her next movie within four weeks of the delivery, the way she has "mothered" (using the term loosely) her other two children...all this doesn't give me a good feeling about how this is all going to go down. She seems cold and self absorbed.

As far as Keith's performance on Sat night, I heard from people who were there (skeptics) that he was good...and that inspite of the sound problems, he was "on." I think that his performance was fine...it might not have been the best of the year, but it sounded like it was good!

Did he pay tribute to his wife ... yes. Should he...I think he should tone down the references to his wife in his shows and let his music speak for itself. He doesn't need Nicole Kidman to prove he is a huge talent. In fact, that takes the focus OFF his music and onto his private life.

I could care less that he is married to NK...I just want him to re-focus his career and stop dragging his private life into it all the time. I would like to read an article that JUST ONCE didn't make reference to his famous wife.

yeah, good luck with this one.....

so i hear they left the hospital on mon. night? gee, that's really soon......talk about unanswered questions! supposedly they're bunkered down in nashville getting used to the baby. wonder who is getting up for those middle of the night feedings? i betcha who isn't.

Smart Girl said...

There is no proof she had the baby at baptist only that press had surrounded the hospital. That doesn't mean she was there. If she was why are there no photos of her leaving?

Casse Role said...

RC, I am surprised at the end of your comment! My goodness this is only a blog. Some believe, some don't, some come for the entertainment, but to make that statement is horrible!

You are right however in a sense that none of anyone's where about's is our business, but look at all the photos and stories we have gotten. They are at Starbucks, they are at the beach, they are here, they are there. So, why not where she gave birth? And as someone else stated, no photos.

Again, DO NOT LUMP all of us posters in what you say!
I do wish them well with their baby daughter.

Yes, that's a good point... I seem to remember the really interesting celebs would have 24/7 paparatz coverage...grainy shots of blurry figures slipping into the limo... seems kidmans ho hum PR effort has been reduced to simple "reports" and "heresay events" that scatter the press coverage in random blurbs... and again, end up in another one of her dull magazine interviews as rather insignificant and boring tidbits that are already littering the gossip sites and news articles she has already leaked them to.

"When was she born? Why wasn't the hospital named until today? Name a celebrity child and I just bet you can find the time and place of birth. I bet you can even find out how long the baby was… but not with young Sunday."

Really? Well, let's see:
"A healthy baby boy was born," Matthew tells OK! in an exclusive statement. "Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world — Having a child and making a family. Now comes the greatest adventure — raising one, together." ~ from Matthew McConaughey to OK! So, what hospital is it???

Another one from Reuters:
"LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has delivered her first child, a girl, People magazine reported on Sunday.

The location and the baby's name were not disclosed, but the report quoted a spokeswoman for Berry as saying that the 41-year-old actress was "doing great." The father is Gabriel Aubry, a 32-year-old model." http://www.reuters.com/article/peopleNews/idUSN1651459820080317
Name of hospital???

As usual, you should do some fact-checks first before mouthing off!

Hmmm.. his brother "mouthing off" to the press:
"It may have been cold and gloomy across the Sunshine Coast yesterday, but in Shane Urban’s household the outlook was Sunny.

Keith’s older brother couldn’t hide the smile from his voice yesterday as he spoke to the Daily about the birth of his niece Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.

The first child for Australia’s power couple was born in Nashville on Monday, weighing in at a healthy 3.04kg.

Sunshine Coast-based Shane and his family were among the first people to learn of Sunday’s arrival, with the proud papa calling his big brother to let him know he was an uncle.

“My wife Jennifer and I got a phone call last night (Monday night). Keith called us after the birth,” Shane said.

“I spoke to both Keith and Nic and they were both just in such high spirits. You could tell even from the phone they were just grinning from ear to ear.

“They were both so happy. Keith said Nic was a very happy camper and all I heard from her was her joyousness.

“As soon as we got off the phone, we had to wake up our kids, Blake (10) and Jessica (6) and tell them. They very groggily said ‘that’s great’ and then went back to sleep. We had to tell someone! But this morning, they were both very excited.”

Yesterday morning, Shane and Jennifer and Keith’s parents Bob and Marienne each sent Nicole a bouquet of her favourite flowers, gardenias, mixed with miniature pink roses in honour of Sunday.

As for the name which was on the world’s lips yesterday, Shane said Rose was his grandmother’s name. While he loved the name Sunday, he knew only that the inspiration for it came from Nicole’s father.

“I think it is a wonderful name. We didn’t know. It was mum’s the word so to speak on the name until they had Sunday.

“But I can already see me calling her Sunny. I can just see myself picking Sunny up and telling her how cute she is.”

Exactly when Shane will get to bounce little Sunny on his knee is still unknown.

“There is no date yet, no plans. We just hope to see her very soon,” uncle Shane said.

“I just think it is so cool to know my little brother is a dad.”

Ah... not only did Shane Urban "mouth off" to the press, Marianne Urban did too.
"MEGASTAR couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are planning to bring their newborn daughter Sunday Rose to Australia within weeks.
Urban's mother Marienne, who lives on the Sunshine Coast, revealed the couple's homecoming plans yesterday.

She said she had spoken to her proud son on Tuesday morning just hours after the arrival of Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.

"He called us and said the baby had arrived safely and everybody was really well, and we were totally thrilled," Mrs Urban said.

"They were very proud. You could hear it in his voice - it was just great."

Mrs Urban said she had not yet seen any pictures of her third grandchild but expected to meet her in the next few weeks.

"Possibly at the end of this month. I believe they may be coming back at the end of the month," Mrs Urban said.

"We are just excited about the birth and that's all we needed to know."

As for the glamour couple's choice of name for their first child, Ms Urban said: "It's lovely, as soon as I heard it I thought that's beautiful."

Mrs Urban was unable to confirm whether Kidman had a natural or caesarean birth.

Kidman and Urban are believed to have taken their new baby home to their secluded and picturesque Nashville property just a day after she was born.

As well as their mansion in a gated community there, Kidman and her country crooner husband own a rural estate with a more modest home near idyllic Leiper's Fork, just outside the country music capital of the world.

As the world awaits the first photograph of the newborn, Nicole's father, Antony Kidman, revealed the name of his newest granddaughter was inspired by the muse of Australian artist Sidney Nolan, Sunday Reed."

It is apparent that "some" posters want to post and try and start trouble, rather then state an opinion. Maybe what they are trying to do is get the rest of us to tire of the back and forth crap that goes on, and hope that we will stop posting. With that being said as much as I like to debate, it took a turn for the worse when RC said what she said.

If there is something I feel the need to post or reply about I will. I won't let anyone run me out of town. I wonder, is there a NK blog where the posters aren't happy about Keith? Would they let the KU fans/skeptics, whatever- in and allow them to try and tear down their home?

RC- I really was thinking that you were a NK fan and really wanted to try and change peoples minds about her. Had you stayed on the line with information and not tore into other posters I think we could have reached some sort of agreement to disagree. With your last statement, I now believe that isn't going to happen.

This is actually very disturbing, if you were aware of the close relationship Keith USED to have with his family.

Notice that NK's family were there...they actually suggested the name for this baby. The Urbans will see the baby in a FEW WEEKS???

Keith's parents got a call hours after that baby was born. Honestly...that is just plain bizarre. The PRESS release was out within 1 1/2 hours of the birth ... I know that in Oz it was out by 1 am on Tues and by their admission, the baby was born shortly before midnight on Monday (Jul 7).

In this day & age, the paternal grandparents have not seen a picture of Sunday Rose? Seriously? With the webcam and email and face book and flicker and thousands of ways of posting and sending digital images...they haven't seen a picture yet???

Something is OFF in this relationship. I believe that NK has isolated Keith from family and key friends who could influence his thinking ... he needs to find his balls and assert himself. Good Heavens.

TexasCourtJester said...

If these Urbahn family interviews are authentic (and I'm not sure they are) then I am very disappointed in them. In Keith's entire music career I don't think Shane has EVER said ANYTHING about his brother to the media. If he has it was NEVER about his personal life. Now he's giving long statements to them? Even when the preg was announced they barely said anything. Now mum is gushing to the media as well? We know Nic has lied about Keith's family before - I think I hope she's spilling these statements on their behalf. And no, I wouldn't put it past her. Why change their behavior now after all these years... It just doesn't make sense. Too bad they would never call her on it even if my theory was true.

Interesting that several weeks ago we were told (never shown) that Keith's family was in Nashville. IF that were true why didn't they stay for the arrival? Not that I believe they were there but my point is Why is Nicole's family welcome and Keith's not? Shane might not be able to bring his family but why couldn't mum and dad come join the party instead of being told after press releases were issued?

Did you not take note of the fact that Keith called his brother FIRST before any announcement was released? It must have been way past midnight by the time they're done. So probably Keith did not want to call his parents that late, and opted to call them the following day. If I recall, one of the reports earlier in the year mentioned Keith visiting his parents, one of whom was supposedly unwell. Skeptics may interpret that however they want, but I choose to believe that Keith may just be being considerate of his parents' health considerations.

So sis and old pops are blabbing to the media... why shouldnt kidman start to throw in media plants from the orbs family? What are they going to do, deny them? So, I just read the funniest, and so far my most favorite article on the kidman name debacle...

http://www.2snaps.tv/9815767

...oh yes... menage-a-trois and catholicism...sounds like the perfect kidman Indie flick! And speaking of early hospital exits and having mum and sis to help out first time mother kidman get back to what is truly important to her...her career...seems Weinstein, former of Miramax, victim of kidman's kurse of the uber failed movie flops and movie studio busting... (recall the demise of "Colden Mountain Compass" studio New Line as well as weinstein from miramax....) seems is having monetary problems, so much so that it has to grovel for a hand out to Relativity Media to foot in 50% of the cost for the ready to shoot Nine, kidmans supposed next film. As is the news that tarentino has to shill for money from other studios for his next film, Inglorious Bastards. So it seems possible kidmans next film may collapse because of money problems... Well, boy oh boy... I hope the film gets made...(please, pretty please!!!) and gets released... just the thought of another movie with kidman in it destroying poor shlubb weinsten's latest movie company has me almost jumping cartwheels and positively giddy with excitement! Who doesnt see this already troubled film unfortunate enough to have kidman involved with it just totally belly flopping at the box office? Do they ever learn from their already made mistakes? Apparently not...

Imahick said...

OK...so is NK going to get some relief from the criticism she will undoubtedly get for starting up in a movie within 4 wk of the delivery of little Sunday Rose? Perhaps the movie will go belly up before it gives her a chance to make another belly flop?

maclen said...

Well, it's become obvious with the release of weinsteins memos from that dumpster diving article by Village Voice newspaper editor Tony Ortega earlier this month, kidman was only going to get $100 k for doing weinsteins The Reader... now she's back with weinsteins Nine, which again he cant even finance on his own. So what is kidman's paycheck for this one, $50 k? Seems that wienstein is kidman's only remaining film benefactor... ( again, poor dope!) for certainly after last years 3 flops in a row, kidman is reduced to scraping the bottom of the barrel... as it seems her next movie will no doubt be the valerie plame bio pic...another certain Indie low rent flick, and as I am so certain that that long list of supposedly kidman to produce/ star in movies ...monroe "monte carlo" remake with julia roberts...
remember that one?) or the broadway "rabbit hole" to film she was also to produce...or that supernatural thriller...and on and on.... are as dead as kidman's career.

cj - not that I believe for one minute that they were in Nashville already, but the father's parents are not necessarily the ones present when the baby is born. I know when I had my child it was my mother & sister that came to help out. My mother-in-law made the trip later. Keith's mum knows when it is her time to be with them.

TexasCourtJester said...

Ok you Aussies, help me out here please. If Rose was born "around midnight" TN time wouldn't that make it around 2pm or so Oz time? 14 hour time difference? If that's the case, well, WHY would Shane's kids be in bed in the afternoon to have to be woken to be told the news? That makes no sense.

And Sonora - the leaked story "KU went to visit his sick mum" was to explain why he didn't attend the Grammy's. Problem with that lie is we have photographic evidence he was on the Vogue photo shoot set with NK instead.

When they are (suppose to be) in town from half way around the world? That's a long flight. Makes more sense to me to stay a little longer, meet the baby, then go home rather than go home a few days or weeks before the birth then making the new parents bring baby on a long flight to meet the parental grandparents.

wasted, I'm not sure where I got the idea but I thought "the blessed event" was shortly after midnight Sun night/Mon morning. And cj, what I meant was that I don't think that Bob & Marienne have been in Nashville at all. No one had a pic of them, and I can't see Keith keeping them cooped up for an entire visit. No, they haven't been to town in a long, long time.

As for taking baby back to OZ so soon, that will be for the Christening. Nothing wrong with that. Besides, it's not like they're flying coach like the rest of us.

lol, yeah, like I said earlier, we were TOLD but never shown. We're TOLD lots of things by Kidman I don't believe. Just like she says she's harassed by paps but manages to disappear for days and weeks at a time - when she wants to.

My first google alert announcing the birth was at 10am Mon. I found this: "Sunday Rose Kidman Urban was born in the American country music capital of Nashville just before midnight on Monday Eastern Australian standard time, weighing 6 pounds 7.5 ounces." I guess that I saw this, thought "just before" said just after and missed that the time was Australian. Too much July 4 partying I guess. But then, I found out late Tues night the baby had "arrived".

I believe that the baby was born sometime between 7 and 8:00 am on Monday morning. Add 14 hours and you have shortly before midnight, Monday night. That is consistent with all the news reports ... and it shows you how quickly the press releases went out...it was literally a couple of hours and the world was notified that the baby was born. It was several hours later when the paternal grandparents were advised.

In my household, if BOTH sets of grandparents hadn't been told asap, there would have been a meltdown. Neither grandparents were at the hospital for the births, but both sets were anxiously awaiting news at home.

Honestly...I believe something is wrong if Keith didn't phone his parents within an hour of that delivery...I don't care if it was almost midnight. In years gone by, I know that Marienne would have wanted to know. Also...there would have been a picture there in a matter of a couple of hours. To be honest, I can't believe that the Urban's weren't in Nashville. They used to practically live there.

Something is not right.

Imachick... I would also like to thank you for answering the question.

I would never do that either, but I can't say I'm surprised that someone did.

I find the whole "secrecy" of the birth very odd.

One minute she is talking about past engagements, miscarriages, etc... and now she won't tell about the birth???
