Question: What is the difference between Nicole Kidman and a whore?

Answer: Kidman gets a hell of a lot more money.

A recent television program pointed out how Hollywood actors are now making deals with designers and jewelers to wear their items on the red carpet. According to this program Kidman is one of the biggest stars to do this.

Apparently Kidman made a deal with Chanel around the time her perfume deal was made that she would wear their clothes exclusively at specific red carpets for a period of time. For Nicole Kidman to wear the Chanel exclusives at the Oscars, Golden Globes and two of her movie premieres in 2004 and 2005, she received a cool twelve million dollars. Who needs to work when all you have to do is wear a dress? The other thing that most of the stars deal in is that they get the clothes for free after wearing them on the carpet. Maybe I am just naïve, but it now becomes crystal clear why Keith Urban has so radically changed his red carpet wardrobe. How much is Keith getting paid to wear the Tom Ford suits he looks so uncomfortable in? I wonder too if that first Ralph Lauren suit he wore to the 2006 Oscars was really so Kidman could get another pay out. He apparently had something picked out but she insisted he wear the suit? Uh huh. This must be another reason Kidman needs to keep her dying career going so that she can whore herself out at an awards ceremony. That red carpet is such a pain isn't it?

Some asides to this blog: Some more "typos" are out there concerning young Sunday's actual birthday. Have you noticed like I have that more and more articles state her birthday as July 6, 2008? This could be cleared up by producing her birth certificate but we all know that isn't going to happen. Another thing that is very, very interesting is this new story that Keith's real name is Richard Keith Urbanski. I always thought it was Keith Urbahn and his father had the family's name changed when they moved from New Zealand to Australia in 1970, but who knows? We all thought he told the truth in interviews, didn't we, and we know better now. Who knows what may be dug up if someone were to dig a little deeper into the created world of Keith Urban? Maybe that is what is keeping him married to Nicole Kidman?

That is a good point, Urban Myths, as to why kidman, who's career is a joke would keep at it. The added revenue and endless and unending material buables that can be generated at the premieres...awards red carpet....etc...kidman has certainly shown she will pimp herself out for anything...perfume...gameboys...watches. It certainly adds an air of class and dignity, doesnt it. And it does explain the orb not only being a personally limp and amenable flunky, but also a sell out simply for a few more designer "monkey" suits... it seems even the most truly glutenous of the shameless hams have no apparent limit to being constantly slopped at the perverbial pig's trough of hollywoodlands trinkets and "idol" peddlers...

Interesting, an incorrect birth name thats been posted for years on the Internet Movie Database suddenly qualifies as a story? Some skeptic on the E! board just notices it recently, and it becomes the truth? LMAO on this one. Anyone want to guess what IMDb and Wikipedia have in common?

If you are going to rag on Nicole about the deal with Chanel you boarded that train way too late UMyths. Deals like this have been going on with all A-listers for years.

And we all know Nicole doesn't need to pull out the birth certificate to prove Sundays b-day. Why? Because she doesn't need to prove anything to those who want to see her marriage fail. Just add that typo to the long line of the inaccurate things that have been said about both Keith and Nicole. Like the NY theatre story pulled out of thin air.

notachance said...

Maybe now we are actually getting down to the nitty-gritty of why Keith has put his career on the back burner -

BECAUSE HE CAN!

I've been puzzled by those earnings statements attributed to him - $10m last year - and wondered how he managed that out of his music. Now I know it's more from those ghost endorsements than from his chosen path.

But I will say this, given the opportunity I would do the same thing. Let him build his wealth the way he wants to - it is HIS life afterall.

hoosierlady said...

Can you imagine being married to It and having your cd sales tank? It would make more sense to work harder at your craft to bring in more revenue, do more shows, etc., but that might have shifted the spotlight, so. . put him in rehab, curtail the tour time, just stuff him in a suit and have him pay homage, this makes sense.

notachance said...

Maybe he likes this life folks. You keep ragging on her that she is forcing this on him - maybe, just maybe she showed him a way to earn millions without having to bust his butt and he said "HELL YEAH!".

I, personally, have always been skeptical of the "Mr. Humble Pie" version of Keith Urban. I always thought it was an act. Even prior to the NK days there was plenty reason to scratch your head over his doings or lack of doings. Don't blame it all on her.

hoosierlady said...

Don't blame it all on her.

You know, you are right. But there was a time when he made a difference on the landscape of country music. I couldn't keep enough of 'Be There' and 'Golden Road' on the shelves. I was never a fan, but it's because he's too happy for me. My son loved him, paid money to see him. Then something happened and the 'Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing' just sat there. It sold some, but for the most part, no. '18 Kids' did marginally better, and I read he's re-issuing it as '19 Kids' so. . . but the point is, you're right, something happened, he made a decision all by his grown up self to change from a musician to a "star".

Bully for them.

I don't buy the new name bit. Remember, Keith's grandmother's surname at the time of her death was Urbahn.

Can't see an extended family changing a surname from Urbanski to Urbahn and then later to Urban. All of which would require various petitions to various courts.

And to shift Keith's first and middle names like that? That SERIOUSLY doesn't make sense.

Unless somebody has access to New Zealand and Australian name-change documents that prove this, I'll remain skeptical.

OK...I feel like my head is spinning...I just don't want to believe...what is in my very own eyes. I see a pictute of KU holding what appeears to be a little tiny baby....a week later NK is bording a plane with what appears to be an infant at least 2 months older that what she is suppose to be. So...what is the truth? Can anybody from either one of these camps report the TRUTH???? I would think that a fan of either side would belive the TRUTH rather than these frabrication of truths any day of the week. So.....KIDMAN camp or URBAN camp...anybody willing to report the truth on this union...baby or anything relating to a Urban or Kidman????
This fan is really tired of all the fabrication. I CALL FOR TRUTH...WAHT EVER THAT IS, TRUTH HAS TO BE BETTER THAN WHAT YOUR ARE DOING TO YOURSELVES AND YOUR NEWBORN DAUGHTER......

One Stop Insanity said...

I thought I was the only one who thought the baby looked like 2 months older within 2 weeks too.

doublewide said...

i so agree, stillhopeful

i doubt we'll ever know the TRUTH.....that baby does look ALOT older......geez

TexasCourtJester said...

That baby does look A LOT older."

If you had to live with NK wouldn't you age faster than most people? Keith has. And smoking ages a person as well so Nic's second hand smoke might affect SR as well.

hoosierlady said...

Okay, the kid was born on 7/7, we think.

It's 8/26 today.

So that puts her at about 6 weeks, right?

Just call me crazy, but do we have a companion mega growth picture of Suri?

I'm not comparing everything-but they seem to be.

Casse Role said...

I agree as well. Unless they are giving her some special celebrity baby formula, Sunday looks pretty big in that photo.

Between that, and trying to believe that NOW Keith's name was suppose to be different then what we heard, has me shaking me head in wonder. I don't buy the Richard Keith name. I think on that I really need to hear HIM say the truth for that one.

hoosierlady said...

Unless they are giving her some special celebrity baby formula,

You know someone is going to post this, so I'm going to go ahead and do it. . . .

Well, perhaps the kid is having unusual growth spurts because kidman kept her weight down with all the starving and work outs...or more than likely, it was actually just a "loaner" baby, because kidman wanted a bigger baby for the the arranged photo op with GG/JJ.

hoosierlady said...

Does a slipped disc=vicodin?

Imahick said...

A slipped disc doesn't necessarily mean narcotics. It depends on how bad it is and how much pain the person is in. I think given he was able to tolerate the 20 hr flight to the US, the 2 1/2 hr drive to the venue on Sat and did sound check, a BSE and a 1 hr 45 min show (only limiting some of the bending and running around) ... I don't think his is bad enough to warrent narcotics.

I bet it's physio, cortisone shot, massage (3 hr min), anti-inflammatories, heat/cold applications and that type of treatment. I don't think he will be getting any major pain killers...especially with his history of addiction.

This is just an opinion. I could be off base entirely.

wastedemotion said...

A doctor would be remiss to give Keith any narcotics. Also, I would hope Keith would ask for a different form of treatment if a doctor did try to give him "drugs."

stillhopefull said...

OK...I would like to believe he wants to remain drug free....but, come on...who on earth could put up with this bullsh@t and not be doing someting???? Something is just not right, I don't care what anybody says, something is not right!!! I don't have the anwers, but I can say from a pretty rationale humen being....something about this whole baby thing is just not right. She never looked like most pregnant ladies, espceially in their 40's...so happy to be pregnant(i know I was one!)nor has she behaved as most mothers of newborns behave...stuck inside the house caring for children, because that is what THEY need, not because that is what you want to do! I wish this was the real deal and all of this bullsh*t would go away...but some how Kidman refueses to let that happen. All of her plots keep getting in the way!

hoosierlady said...

I ask you, would another stint at Betty Ford increase the music sales, or do you think he is really happy with the 'red carpet' thing mentioned on this post?

I am just saying. . . .

I would apologize for being so cynical, but, obviously. .

maclen said...

So, not unpredictably, the release of kidman's next flop Australia has been delayed a few weeks from Nov 14 to Nov 26 because the likely box office blockbuster bond movie pushed it out.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117991269.html?categoryId=13&cs=1

So, that pretty much indicates that the hope for this movie will be for awards consideration...but considering that kidman's oscar was given for a role where she intentionally altered her nose...the industry seems to be overly impressed by that ...I doubt if her artificially altered lips are going to get her any admiration or serious attention in this one.

realitycheck said...

Well maclen, lets get real here. Any film going up against a known franchise like Bond would not beat it. And by the same token Bond would not beat Harry Potter. The studio is obviously not blind to that. Australia is a big romantic epic and we haven't seen one of those in a long time. Having it open right before Thanksgiving is a good move.

Anyone else check out Billboard this morning? Shirt is #1!

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/country_index.jsp

One Stop Insanity said...

Who claims it to be BIG and EPIC..besides Baz and the studio? LMAO. Of course they will say that to try and sell it.

realitycheck said...

Look up the definition of the word "epic". Australia fits that bill. A romantic story set against the backdrop of WWII, a bombing, and a cattle drive across the outback certainly is big. If you know Luhrmann's style it is always bigger than life, even in a film like Strictly Ballroom .

maclen said...

The only way this movie will be described as BIG and EPIC, hesaweiner, is when it's finally released as a BIG FLOP and an EPIC FAILURE.... and who better to know that than daniel craig, victim of not just one BIG FLOP of kidman's, the Invasion , but two EPIC FAILURES with Gold Compass...just as kidman's PR baby story fizzled one week after arriving in Oz... her arrival in the UK was met with absolute and mind deafening silence...just as her movies receive... but then interest in kidman or her movies have always had a very very short shelf life...

doublewide said...

Stay tuned for the Labor Day Music Festival this weekend. I think you'll enjoy it.

hoosierlady said...

I used the word stupid stupidly.

I have deep feelings for each of you. You brighten my lonely evenings, and add joy to an otherwise bland, unemployed, existence.

And, you are slowly, and patiently teaching me all about how wrong I am about reality, you know, words meaning what they say, wedding vows, baby birth dates, what more can I say.

I only ask that when we get down to the pictures of NK in that idiot see through dress someone please blog long enough to get past it. I thought I would blow before we finally got past it the last time.

Thanks Urban Myths...and for me the best compliment I can give you is the very first time I heard about your site and read my first blog of yours I actually thought I was reading something I had written myself and just forgotten...and as for hoosierlady's offhand statement of "stupidity" of this blog, is just indicative of most peoples perception of blogs in general... that they are simply written by shutins still wearing their pajamas living in their parents basement. Of course it is not always the case, but sure, it may be in some cases... but so what...the blogs of quality and of interest will thrive because they are of interest...and yes, ironically of course by the naysayers who will rail against blogs...how? By commenting on blogs... which is always my reply to the asinine charges that blogs are not becoming a more and more accepted media.., as in the distant past morse code became a valuable tool... or the telegraph... walkie talkies...the telephone... and yes the internet... it is in peoples nature to search for communities, not just in their immediate surroundings, but to find common ground and exchanges of ideas on a global level... and that IS a good and positive developement.

Also, Thanks, Urban Myths for the see through dress thing, that was above and beyond the call of duty. It really did help to showcase NK's best ass et.

I thought Kidman was popular in the UK or was she riding Tommys back?

Shirt- it feels kinda sad that he had to dip into old songs to get a number one but a number one will get him noticed at award time again.

I heard an interview he did for Canada - is he really in London or is this just another smokescreen and he is still in the US getting some help for his back?

can't wait for the music fest!

realitycheck said...

Umyths, if this really is a blog about Keith Urban, why no entry about he #1? Embarrassed you said it would bomb like nobody's business? Waiting until your Labor Day music fest to make mention of it? Who cares, either way it shows where your priorities lie. And I wont be attending the fest. Ive got more interesting things to do, like clean my toilet.

TexasCourtJester said...

Actually RC, in addition to getting ready for the music festival UM has been battling bad weather from Fey and now the new tropical storms + rearing their ugly heads. It's hard to blog if you don't have electricity or are playing host to others who don't. Not that you really care. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. That's just the way it is.

realitycheck said...

Hmmm, i thought UMyths was a collection of bloggers. Not just one person.

And none of the skeptics here wanted to acknowledge Keith's #1 on the entry before, nor now. Its all about Nicole. Funny...

realitycheck said...

And also, what happened to keeping the Umyths anonymous. Guess that only works if you're on the same side of the fence. *wink*

Imahick said...

RC...if you chose to read thoroughly, (and not just what you want to read) you'd notice that several "skeptics" have congratulated Keith on his #1 on this site. I hope that he gets the message on what kind of music he has to produce to get a #1. But I'm glad for him. It's been a long dry spell.

TexasCourtJester said...

It should be obvious by writing styles that more than one person writes for UM. However, to avoid confusion, everything goes through one person and that person does the posting. If you think you can do better RC go start your own blog and we'll come nit pick at you.

As for the #1. Woop de freaking do. Are you happy now? His last #1 hit was Better Life in 2005. There have been 5 singles in between that couldn't get past #2. Heck, Everybody and Once in a Lifetime couldn't get past #5. I'm glad he has a #1 but I really don't think getting it from a six year old song deserves a lot of celebration. If it was a new song yes. Even a current song on the latest album, ok. But a six year old song he had to go back and add to the GH album because it wasn't even originally included (and now being used to try and sell additional copies of the poor selling GH album) just isn't that big of a deal. That is of course just my humble opinion.

hoosierlady said...

I would like to humbly congratulate Keith Urban on his #1 with "You Look Good In My Shirt".

I am so pleased. I am as pleased as I am about John McCain picking Sarah Palin for his VP, sealing up the presidential race for Obama, in my opinion.

I am Yoplait pleased. New shoes pleased. Orgasmic pleased. Developed arm muscles pleased. Both kids have full ride scholarships pleased. Renewable scholarships pleased. I am just so freaking pleased I cannot articulate it properly. If I where not so well endowed I would jump, but since the Lord was generous, I will simply dance a jig to, yes, you guessed it, "You Look Good In My Shirt". At #1, because I'm pleased.

Ok Reality Check?

Tara said...

I wonder if he will release It's a Love Thing since he seems to be recycling old singles..
I'll shut up because I just thought about the potential video for that..

doublewide said...

hoosierlady, welcome to the dark side. We are so glad you joined us. You are welcome over at my blog anytime as well.

Tara, bite your tongue! (Or anyone elses if that's what it takes.) It's bad enough he ruined Better Half for me by dedicating it to SP at a concert. I'd really rather he not ruin any of his great BNK music by associating it with her in any way.

Seeing that the point of this blog is to highlight the belief that kidman is bad for the orbs career...the fact that the orb had to dig up a pre kidman song says all that is needed.

What's the music fest about? Is this the Country Goes Rock? 'Cause if it is, I'm going to have to skip it and trust you to fill me in.
I hope everything's ok in the storm area.
I am humbled by your compliments, I pale in comparison.

Also, why did I have to honor the privacy of both my sons, only to have one come home from college to pull up MY little bit of fun and tell me it wasn't a very nice thing to do!?

I'll leave it to your imagination what the young man had to listen to after that comment.

I'm ready to, as Hank Jr. says, "Get the Party Started"!

Just in case RC you've decided we really are so awesome you cant resist and are reading this........as for the #1 I will happily admit I didnt think it'd make it, not that I didnt want that for him, but that I felt there were stronger songs out there. Im happy for him he got one, Im happy I was wrong.
However it has come to my attention that a very large group of fans has been calling radio stations all over the country (not just in there own area which is a major no no)to request shirt. This act is a horrible no no and the fans have been instructed to stop. I again will say I dont think it's going to last very long, because Kenny's current single is hot, and racing up the charts. If Im wrong I will be happy to admit again Im wrong.
Let the party begin I need a break from reality!!!

I would like to know why I can go to a page and see photos of NK or KU, usually the bad ones, and then within hours, they are gone. How does that happen? Do they buy them out?

Also, did you know that as soon as she went back to work on the EPIC the Yahoo search in her name began to bring up pictures of her with TC instead of Keith. You have to access another link to see them together.

How Bizarre, How Bizarre.

Going to a pool party. . . talk with ya later. Everyone have fun!
