A break from the diary for a more sobering blog...

I hope the rumors were true that Keith Urban was drinking the fruit of the vine at his #1 party because the horseshit that spewed from his mouth could only have been said from someone who was either not in control of their faculties, or a dumb idiot.

Why so harsh? Because Keith must realize that equating a song with his wife, a song that was over seven years old, was just going to push some of his fans over the brink of fandom. Here is the message loud and clear for you Keith Urban, WE DON'T LIKE YOUR WIFE. WE THINK THAT SHE HAS RUINED A LARGE PART OF YOUR CAREER AND YOUR ASSOCIATION WITH HER DRAGS YOUR TALENT DOWN. Boy that felt good to get out.

Itʼs not like we haven't said that before but sometimes a reminder is good. The song that went to #1 for one week this summer was a fan favorite. It was a song that you had removed from the play list for most of the tour. It was brought back by request. You admitted you didn't even want to rerecord it but the record company pushed you to do it. It wasn't the record company that made it a hit it was YOUR FANS. Hey, you ungrateful bastard, thank YOUR FANS, not your meal ticket addiction, for the success. But of course you didn't. I guess you know that you won't be winning next week at the CMA's, so you had to thank your wife/addiction. I bet the reason you were late to the big shindig on Monday afternoon was because you had to explain to Nicole 'It's All About ME' Kidman where you were going and why - no wonder you were drinking. The pressure to be her pony boy must be intense.

It is your choice to stay with that waste of humanity just as it is my choice to no longer buy your products nor attend your concerts. I was a supportive skeptic, now I am just a very pissed off one.

The sad reality of addicts/alchoholics is that they may very well know that the behavior is very bad for them...physically, mentally or emotionally... yet are just simply incapable of helping themselves. Now some apologists who may feel that aiding and abetting a desperate fame junkie like kidman is preferrable to substance abuse are missing the point... it's the pattern of behavior in which they may substitute from one abuse to some other, that is allowed to remain and hamper a true...and lasting... recovery.

hoosierlady said...

That was very well stated.

Umyths you think the majority of the world agrees with you. You need a reminder they don't.

Realitycheck--As a reformed BIG SPENDER on Keith Urban, I would have to say there are more of us than you think.

Again I'd like to ask the NON SKEPTICS and/or NK LOVERS a question.
Although I do doubt anyone will answer, since most like to just jump on the posters...But anyhow-

WHY do YOU think Keith's Career has been dropping off the radar? What can the reason behind it be? And don't say you haven't seen a change in the past year or more.
Can anyone step up to the mic?

I am giving you a chance to try and show us that it isn't because of NK. Go for it. Wouldn't you like to change
even one posters opinion?

stick a fork in me -

love the name....

I may have to beg forgiveness from the skeptics after this insaneness, although I lay the blame squarely on Keith's shoulders. 3 months in rehab and he didn't learn a fu*king thing.

Could NK really be the wolf in sheep's clothing?

right on. the song is all about fun times - single times! - and has zero to do with the botox bride. it's v. interesting that the label wanted the song - they saw a career going south and fast. i was intrigued when it was re-recorded b/c it was a weird choice so soon into a new marriage. clearly not his choice. run keith, run!

casse role (love that name too)...

I can't disagree with you. I have seen KU change. And, honestly, I am sick of the lovey dovey songs surrounding his wife.

The newest song, Sweet Thing, is a another example. Stick me with a fork, for sure. Honestly, I want to hear the fun songs of the past. Not dedications to NK.

He might want to STFU about her. There are far more people than you think RC that can't stand the pasty bitch. They just don't happen to be on here talking about it. They are just quietly taking their intrest and their money elsewhere and supporting artists who have an intrest in their career. Nobody wants to hear the sound of your marriage Keith. Sales of The Painful CD should have told you that. We very much would like to hear the sounds of your divorce though. That would sell.

hoosierlady said...

He doesn't need to divorce her, just explain to her, he has a career, and she has a career, and NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET. Then, if she doesn't understand, perhaps rehab?

realitycheck said...

I did not say that there weren't more of the skeptics out there. But that still doesn't make them the majority. BTW, I have no problem with those that don't like Nicole and aren't on the internet everyday trashing her and their marriage. Saying how much you dislike her and then spending oodles of time talking about her every move? Wishing Keith would cheat, saying he's back drinking, wishing for the demise of a marriage while posting how much better a spouse/parent/person you are? That's the height of hypocrisy.

Imahick said...

I don't care if he's married to her or Kenny Chesney. It really doesn't matter to me, nor should it. The problem is ... she is THERE all the time...he has become Mr. Nicole Kidman in 2 short years.

No other artist has allowed his/her spouse to over shadow them in this way. It is NOT necessary. But Keith allowed that by catering to her at the expense of his career, and she has taken advantage of it, by not making ONE concession for him, and requiring him to make all the sacrifices.

His career is no longer his, and his commitment to his music has waned. It appears to be more of a hobby now, than a career. Fans want someone who is still committed to their career and who shows appreciation and respect to them. The nonchalant way that Keith slides in for his shows and slips out again, without allowing any "screw up" time, shows exactly how he views his fans. The fact that he thanks his wife for his accomplishments instead of the very people who have "paid" for his success...his fans...tells me all I need to know about where his head is at.

As far as the #1 party, I like "Shirt" ... don't be me wrong. But after seeing the video of his #1 party, are we sure it wasn't a party for his #1 status on the Most Pussy Whipped List, rather than for the song? The dedication to his princess for "our award" and the kiss on the lips for all to see is just too much. It is just so "look at me" it stinks of fakeness.

To Casse Role:

I would like to attempt to answer your question. Living in Australia where Keith has a very small following, it is difficult to imagine how big he actually is, or was, in USA. I admired his music and his ability to find success overseas, but noticed a change and slackness come over him since he joined with Nicole Kidman. It's as if his career is in cruise control.

Why do I think his career has been dropping off the radar? . He is now married to someone who does not resonate with alot of females, or males anymore. Kidman once did, but alot of people see her differently now. Her public image has changed. Keith's association with her therefore urghs people. While she may take the credit for getting him sober, it's as if, in return, he has now put his career second. When was the last time he put out a truly good song? And I am not talking about a seven year old song either.

He needs to re-work his image, and think about greatly reducing her out of his career picture. Nicole unfortunately seems to be laughing stock, as you can see from various blogs. Would you want to be linked with that if you were trying to resurrect your career?

banbotox said...

Excellent blog! The message to Keith is right on the money.
He has truly lost his mind...
I have to wonder if his muse will EVER come back to him now.

banbotox said...

Oh and BTW Keith, many people have seen your wife naked and quite frankly, she needs to keep not only your shirt but your winter coat ON.

RC--From one hypocrite to another--Cheers!

Casse Role said...

Thank you Choice. I appreciate you answering me. Those of us who have been/or had been fans of his, noticed this change when he hooked up with NK. If his career kept going, and he was staying as he was, there would have been nothing said. But since the union...the proof is out there. I am glad that he is happy, if infact he is. But some parts of me just don't understand why he is letting his career take a back seat. One question... Does he want it like this?

Choice said...

Casse Role: I guess he has just become a father which can be life changing, and probably needs time out to adjust. He admitted thought that he didn't want children until later, so he is probably confused about everything in life. Perhaps he is depressed and can't focus on his career. He might surprise us all, and bounce back beautifully, with or without Nicole. I still think Nicole has contributed greatly to his decline of late because he has for her PR machine.

Ha! Choice, you are a genius! 176 visits to your blog...congrats...and 73% by psycho freepers tossing their cookies (much like kidman, no doubt, to attain her anorexic look)... just to vote 130 times... you are a sly one, but then, I never expect much intelligence from the monkeys and goat herders... next time, ask them to send you money and you'll be nicer to kidman, and believe me they'll send it to you, just to show you kidman haters, by golly!

...so... lately Ive been preoccupied from this site the past couple of weeks because I was keeping up with the elections... the now "historic" elections... so I havent been commenting here very much... but as I watched the election returns last night on MSNBC, I inadvertantly watched alot of the new trailer for Australia. My initial reaction to the trailer... very titanic-esque...you know... stuck up aristocrat initially looks down on the lowly laborer... a few drinks loosen up the stuffy aristocrat... the laborer cleans up... they fall in love and must deal with the external forces threatening their new love... and then... the iceberg hits the shrimp on the barbie! oh noooo.... yeah the problem with attaching your film to past classic and iconic films...ie; titanic...gone with the wind... wizard of oz...is your setting up your film for very negative and most certainly unattainable comparisons to the classic films...and I have no doubt that the oz film is not a classic...or will even be a coherant or very interesting or compelling movie. In fact, I can see the obvious and overpowering stench of failure in this movie than I saw and clearly recognized in The Invasion. The procasinating baz not able to finish editing the film, the problems it will have with PR schedules and last minute and probably missed premieres and screenings and just absolute confusion on all fronts with this film spell a dismal failure... on all fronts.

Thanks Senora, and Maclen. My Poll proved what I was expecting ie. that the Kidman adorers will visit the sites that don't worship their heroes because deep down they know their is some truth in what we are saying. They can't help themselves. Tough titties, because Wendy Day has asked me to keep NICOLE KIDMAN'S JOURNEY going. Simply because it is more accurate than the stuff you want to believe from the famous PR machine. I still am amazed at the amount of people who voted No. Wouldn't they rather be spending their time at NK UNITED (which has the worst home page I have ever seen, who designed that with those tiny pictures). Senora, there will be another Poll coming soon and if you're lucky, it will be about you.

Choice - don't kid yourself. I'm absolutely sure they just go there to vote. Ha! "Wendy Day has asked" you? You're more delusional than I thought!

if this was a number #1 party for a song of the Pain cd, I wouldn't care as much if he called it "their award". It would still piss me off becasue it dismisses the fans' role in getting the song to #1, but it is painfully obvious that the PAin cd is the sound of his marriage, as sickening as that is. But to connect songs from BH or GR like "Shirt" to Nicole when they were written and recorded before he even knew her is just a huge FU to the fans and writers of those songs. I am reasonably sure that the writer of "Shirt" did not have Nicole Kidman in mind and it's a huge slap in the face for Keith to win an award for that song and turn to Nicole and say it's their award.

realitycheck said...

Choice is hearing voices in her head now!

And choice you invited the NK fans to vote when you put that option of "No I hate it" on your poll. You should take a page from the Umyths playbook and only put skeptic-friendly choices on the ballot! LOL

There was no F.U. to the songwriters. It was a #1 party, not an award given to the songwriters that Keith decided to steal and give to Nicole. Give me a break. Without KU those songwriters wouldn't have written a #1 and wouldn't be getting their nice royalty check. And Keith acknowledges the support his wife has given him. Nice try with that argument skeptics but it doesn't work on any level.

realitycheck said...

Also had to add that why would he thank the fans when none of them were there? This was an industry party.

If it were not for the fans it wouldn't have gone #1. Nicole didn't make it #1. All his songs for her didn't make it passed #2. Just what she is a piece of #2!!! Keith will learn when it is to late that It isn't Nicole, but his fans that made him what he was.

Also I have seen several of these #1 "industry party." All of the artist from Garth Brooks to Lady A thank their fans. Even if their is no fans there.

If Keith think he got #1 because of Nicole and not his fans then he is as delusional as she is.

I think he will learn this with the new song, It stinks!!!!!!!

Does anyone have photo's from the Industry party? Where is Shane Urban when you need him?

By the way, since when was "Choice a female?" First I knew about that.

Time to vote again:

"Choice" is an "it". :-)

Some would say "choice" is a bunch of "Moving Pictures".

Any fellow Aussies remember that band?

Choice said...

Yes, great band. Good song "What about me". Do you remember the band Keith Urbanski was in before he went overseas? C'mon TimTam, help me out here.

Choice, you can find pictures of the #1 party at a blog called 'steph in the city'.

I think you could have given that Shirt song to any number of the hard bodied, young, guitar toatin' fast rising male country stars and it would have flown at least as far, if not farther.

I beginning to think Mr. Kidman has been tremendously overrated, and perhaps he has already given us the best he had to give. However, it remains to be seen. I will be interested to see if there is artist original music on the new CD, or if he uses mostly other people's stuff. That I can see without spending a nickle.

timtam said...

choice---If Keith Urban was in a band before he left here I wouldn't know the name of it. I'm sure someone else who posts knows the answer. And I don't give a stuff about "Keith Urbanski".
