Cruise-in In Daytona

February 12, 2009 4:37 p.m. EST

Buddy Shacklette - AHN Sports Reporter

Daytona Beach, FL (AHN) - The Daytona 500 annually brings its share of celebrities to town and this Sunday will be no different as film star Tom Cruise will be here to drive the Chevrolet Camaro pace car at the start of the race.

Cruise played NASCAR driver Cole Trickle 19 years ago in the movie "Days of Thunder,' a portion of which was filmed here at Daytona International Speedway.

"It all came together pretty quickly," said Speedway president Robin Braig. "We're not really sure how it happened, but we're pleased that Rick Hendrick got involved, and that Chevy and NASCAR agreed to let him drive the pace car."

It should make for a interesting reunion as Cruise's ex-wife, actress Nicole Kidman, will be here with current husband Keith Urban, who will perform in the pre-race show. Cruise and Kidman met while filming "Days of Thunder' here.

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, who 19 years ago supplied the race cars used in the film, had Cruise as a guest in December in New York City at the annual NASCAR awards banquet.

Hendrick will ship two of his "Days of Thunder" cars to Daytona, which will be on display during Sunday's pre-race hours.

In recent years, the Daytona 500 pace car has been driven by baseball half-of-famer Cal Ripken Jr., talk-show host Jay Leno, and racing legend Junior Johnson.

Yeah, just read this story a while ago...sounds like a tabloids wet dream, doesnt it? So naturally, I'm dubious that cruise will in fact be there...this is the only story about it...just a few days away from the race. The Daytona website doesnt have anything about it...their last news update was last month announcing the orb will play. Up till now cruise has steered clear of anything to do with kidman...would he want to replay the whole "Days of Thunder" and kidman marriage Genesis rehashed for the tabloids? It no doubt is inept team kidman's wet dream...but for that matter I didnt expect kidman to attend the 500...so we shall see...my initial reaction is it is not true.

Maclen - Kidman will be anywhere where the cameras are. She's doing her upmost to win back the public's affections after her worldwide knocks. And what a better way that a reunion with Tom on the set of Days of Chunder. The film where she played a convincing 22 yr old neurosurgeon. But I reckon I your right. Tom won't be there, he avoids any shots with Gran.

YOur right about kidman needing to be in front of the camera, choice, but in the past 2 months shes been photographed at only two "industry" events...the G'day event for the bazz..(and then simply because she was russled in last minute) and the grammys. I lean on her still hiding out. Simply loitering and basically sitting it out in the front row of the grammys is pretty harmless enough for her...besides being called out for her mismatched hair extensions and her pointy shiney new chin in blogs like this. This recent OZ brushfire is just a convenient opportunity for her to pay for some positive news coverage...all half million aussie dollars worth...As for the cruise daytona story...it is just my initial gut reaction... it could turn out to be true in the end...I just dont buy it right now... as I mentioned, there are only two online stories about it...this UHN story and another from florida...the UHN reports that "NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick" invited cruise to drive the pace car...but I dont see anything about it at hendricks website...nor did I see anything at the daytona website. I would think if true they'd all be hyping it themselves...and the "kidman reunion" angle also makes me doubtful...so we shall see...

This looks like the handiwork of Tom Cruise, who desperately wants to be anothe Paul Newman. Interesting he waited until after Newman's death to show up at the Daytona. It would have been more interesting if he had competed head-to-head with Newman.

Choice said...

Maclen - I think Lainey was on the mark about why Kidman disappeared for a little while. It was to get more work done, not out of shame as we first thought over her worldwide criticisms for her acting.
It's hard for me to comment on her donation to the Australian Bushfires without sounding mean. There were alot of people who made contributions without wanting to be named. I knew if she did, there would be publicity attached to it. That could be because she wanted to encourage others to do so, or she wanted to amend her public image. Maybe $5 million would have done that, $500,000 leaves people shaking their heads here. The woman is clearly loaded! Anyway, I guess after what is the worst disaster in Australia's history, all contributions regardless of their publicity or meaning, make a huge difference.

Then Australia is a nation of ungrateful and whiny people!

You should be ashamed of yourself to be wasting time spewing your meanness on the 'net. You should be out there voluteering your time and money to help the folks affected by the fires.

After this story came out yesterday, choice...

http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/people,,leonard-cohen-donates-200000-to-fire-victims,73758

Cohen gives $200,000 to fire victims

...it of course was predictable that kidman would make it a point to top cohen's $200k...and announce it on her typical charitable habit of doing it with minimal effort possible... "via satellite link"...(UN Ambassador, indeed!) but as the cohen article mentions...
"No doubt it is only a matter of time before the actors Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe, to name but two, come forward."

...but as I certainly maintain, kidman's paltry and minimulist charity efforts have not bought her any capital when it came to her now dead film career...this buys her nothing but the thankfulness of the unfortunate victims of this fire...of which she does not live among...which IS fortunate for them...

Choice said...

Maclen - they mentioned Leonard Cohen's donation on the Bushfire Telethon last night. He had recently toured these areas as part of the winery tours.

Sonora Melody - I made a generous donation two days ago on to the Red Cross website. I live thousands of miles from the areas affected, but we did donate clothes, food and blankets. What about you, love? How about you log on to the Red Cross website and donate too - instead of spending all your spare cash on running the NICOLE KIDMAN UNITED website. Just because you live overseas doesn't prevent you from digging deep in your pocket.

Why would I spend a penny on running that website? I thought you and others on this blog are "convinced" that NK is funding that website. lmao! You need to remember all the lies you make up and be consistent about them.

I have much better things to do than running a website.

1) I wish you ppl would wake up about the Red Cross. You should b giving to the Salvation Army instead. I live in the area of Texas that gets thrown to and fro from hurricanes and the RC never shows up!! But you always see the commercials about the events right?? And.. the things you DONT hear! Like how much those ppl make or the trips or vehicles they buy themselves! // The Salvation Army usually sets up before we are even back home! They know more about the success/destruction of our areas more than WE do!!

Celebs and the Red Cross are just the same as celebs and Starbux. Got it??

2) There is something else going without being mentioned. Nicole+Tom+Keith_Nikki+Burney=?????

Now THAT would be a site!!!!

Maybe Sonora and Realty can rub their broomsticks together and give us what we want!!

Choice said...

Very good point Lisa. Salvation Army do alot more than they get credit for. They have received very little recognition for the donations they have raised for the Victorian Bushfires to date, probably because the media here is only promoting Red Cross. I should have given half of my donation to the Salvos.

That new site proposal of yours sounds interesting. But pray tell, who is Nikki and Burney?

Unknown said...

Niki Taylor and the man she married, Nascar driver Burney Lamar

Unknown said...

And I meant sight, not site. my fault, sorry

Unknown said...

True enough Lisa about the Red Cross. They're quite tainted anymore about their donations, not to mention leadership. If the money is not specifically earmarked for a certain disaster it goes into the general fund - you have to be very careful with your donations with them. I'm not very religious but I've found that faith-based operations seeking help in times of disasters are a better way to go.

I kinda think this isn't going to happen. Isn't Tom in South America getting work done?
As for the Kurbans, Keith Urban is cheap- well known that is. Kidman in the clip that I saw, needed a writer she came off stupid and insincere. $500,000 breaks down to about $15 thousand for each of them. They could have done better but it was all about being seen. Keith seemed sincere as much as he can be. It is too bad Kidman didn't fly over there then we might not see her at Daytona.

????

Choice, everyone knows that NKU is run from NSW, you can easily look up the website ownership and their address. But I'm sure you'd prefer to pretend that's not possible.

Its really sad that Nicole would be criticized over a donation to help in a time of tragedy. Really really sick actually.

And I'm surprised you're playing right into the media's hands over the Keith Nicole Tom NASCAR thing. Nothing's going to happen whether they are in close proximity or not but all of you are so gullible, wasting time discussing it. You keep saying the skeptics are much more discerning than that. Oh well.

Tara said...

RC you got me
I meant $150,000

Unknown said...

Tara, I knew what you meant right from the start.

MAYBE.... and here's that notion going unmentioned again.... Maybe Nicole is gonna make sure she is there because of Niki?? I still cant figure out why Tom would be going to something so beneath him. it would be really embarrassing after all the hooplah they've shpeeled out already.

Unknown said...

OMG, I just read Lainey.

Since when did NASCAR become Hollywood??? Am I wrong when I say this will be pissing off a lot of ppl??? It was always a southern hobby where down to earth ppl could relax together and get into racing.

I follow the Moto GP personally. It's more worldy and the show is left out of the race. That's what I like but I'm just wondering HOW they are allowed to bring this circus to such an event. If I were one of the racers, I would be offended and they would learn right away their asses go in the stands. Celebrity does not belong at or in the track!! You're paying attention to your vehicle, your team, your race coming up, you dont need to be bothered with the Gypsies.

"Maclen - they mentioned Leonard Cohen's donation on the Bushfire Telethon last night. He had recently toured these areas as part of the winery tours."

Yeah, as I mentioned previously, kidman's idea of charity is to phone it in. If you've heard of that quote..."To whom much is given, much is expected"...(religious aspect notwithstanding)...as someone who knows kidman has been given far more than her talent, or personality... has warrented...her PR charity is pathetic. Almost three years since she was named a honorary ambassador for the UN...you can count her "generous" endeavors on one hand...and her visits to that long list of countries she intitially said she would visit on behalf of the UN on one fraken finger! So I am not one bit impressed by kidman's half assed version on charity for PR, whether its to aid her failed films and career...she puts more time into setting up photo ops for her films in the guise of charity work... botox and lip injections...cheek and chin implants than her sorry version of charity...via sattelite or conference call...

realitycheck said...

Tom is personal friends with some guy affiliated with NASCAR.

Keith was asked to do the music for a cartoon inspired by the Fox Gopher Cam that will air the day of the race. I would assume that's how he got the pre-show gig too.

I see it as coincidence they are all supposed to be there. Although Nicole actually showing up has been just gossip at this point.

I don't think either of them scream NASCAR, (sorry Tom but that film was YEARS ago), but for Keith its a chance to get his music out there. Not all NASCAR fans are country music fans, and not all country fans are NASCAR fans. I know I'm not.

tara, become rich and see how you like it when people who dont even know you think they have the right to tell you what to do with your money.

" $500,000 breaks down to about $15 thousand for each of them. They could have done better but it was all about being seen.

Actually Tara, that $500k seems to be in aussie bucks... and I surely doubt if they paid in aussie bucks...you see that only converts to $326k US...which would then be only about $163K per celeb cheapskates kidman and orb...but of course the $500k looks better for PR reasons...gives them better aussie Pr "bang for their actual US...and punier buck! But as I mentioned, at this point kidman is willing to pay something....anything for postive Pr right now.

Unknown said...

"become rich"

Rich is a matter of opinion. Quite a lot of ppl see this couple, and even Nicole by herself as quite poor.

On MANY levels.

You know...I hate to harp on giving, because it is always good a good thing to give. However most people that truley are able and really want to help out of the very goodness of their hearts...do it annonymously. No need for a big screen explanation...most regular thinking people get it!!! They don't need and/or want it thrown in their face! Giving should be done w/ the upmost respect for the recipient. sorry for any of the misspellings....and also JMO!!!!

What about the yahoo news alert saying that Keith donated 300k of that all of his own money?

Nicole is angry with Aus right now and Keith wants to martyrize himself and he knows he's in the spotlight these days.

They use "comraderie" of Aus to paint themselves exotic foreigners to the US. it gets them wonderful coverage and helps them stand out. Well, guess what? We are seeing celebs with HUNDREDS of millions donate crumbs from their constant advertised finances to a country that their "brothers and sisters" are suffering in??

And if they complain... they are GREEDY and UNGRATEFUL??? Well, let's send 2 major greedy and ungrateful leeches back to their own country to stay!! The money they make for using the word Australia gets them more than doing actual work!!

No, they have a lot more to cough up and unfortunately, it's the entire GROUP of them that need their own pants on fire about this. How embarrassing to see celeb Aussies give such tiny amounts!!!

I see this argument is raging on over here too. Of course people are very upset with me about what I've said but I stand by it.

Kidman's donation was small in comparison to her her overall wealth and if I thought for 1 minute that she gives generously to other charities I wouldn't have said a thing. But Kidman is a tightwad and doesn't do the right thing with her money. (Before all the kidders say that she does give generously we just don't know about it c'mon! If Kidman gives a donation it's publicised just like this one.)

The only thing she has ever really supported financially is the Sydney Children's hospital and the Sydney Youth Theatre and neither of those charities have even received a million from Kidman...hasn't she worked out that money can't buy you love?

Oh yeah that's right it can buy you Keith!

Choice said...

I agree with Anna's Blog that the amount was a pittance out of the fortunes she has made. Considering the amount of continous flops she has subjected the public to, it is the least she could do. Nicole often says in interviews that it is so nice to give back to the community. Starting when Nicole?

Just wondering if anyone saw the telethon footage of Nicole and Keith expressing their donation. Keith said very little, while Nic was her usual, not-well spoken self. The pair had apparently said earlier that they would have flown straight over to help if they could. That is so nice of them. I guess the Private jet was out of fuel? I finally respect her now for her sincere offer to do that. I take back everything I've said over the years about her now.

realitycheck said...

Lisa, we all know I was talking about money. That's been the topic of conversation. And I see no one argued with my statement because its the truth. No one, however much money they have, should be told to give or how much or criticized when doing so. None of us would stand for that in our own lives. And its a cold hard fact we don't know what they give and donate privately. Something more than a few of you would like to forget.

And I see no one has taken into account that Keith's wealth and Nicole's wealth can't possibly be all in cash under the mattress. So whatever you think they are worth, its not just instantly available to them.

realitycheck said...

Choice, they took turns talking. So what if NK said more. It wasnt so abhorent to you, you watched the whole video I presume. And once again you got it wrong. They offered to fly over but they said it wasnt necessary. And it was the host on tv that revealed this, not KUNK.

Ha! the sydney children's hospital, thanks for the reminder Anna...certainly her financial donations to the hospital must be "insufficiently" leak worthy" and "intolerably" unpromotable for kidman...and it is another example of my rant of kidman's typical charity exploitation. For kidman's public promotion for the hospital as been the group outings she "treated' the children to...which were to "special private Christmas screenings" of her films! A potentially nice gesture, tainted by the fact that the two years she paraded and posed with the children in front of the dreaded and hated paparatz coincided with the Dec openings of her films Happy Feet in 2006 and Compass in 2007. Not "exploitation" you scoff? Well, unfortunately for the children of the hospital last year...kidman's film, Australia, opened about a month earlier in Nov...and was immediately dead and buried in its first weekend...therefore no special Xmas screening for the kids ...those kids will be waiting until kidman has a film that just happens to be opening in late Dec in OZ before they see her shell out for any more "pop corn and juju-bes" for the sake of the paps.

I posted this on Anna's blog:

------
I believe the most current Forbes listing has NK's net worth at $90 Million. Her donation would be about 0.36% of her net worth.

Let's see, if all of Australia's billionaires donated 0.36% of their net worth, you should be getting these donations to the bushfires appeal:

*Andrew Forrest - $23.68 Million
*James Packer - $20.76 Million
*Frank Lowy - $16.75 Million
*Shi Zhengrong - $10.56 Million
*Harry Triguboff - $9.83 Million
**Rupert Murdoch - $30.23 Million

*Australia’s top 5 billionaires based on this: http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/articles/2008/03/06/1204402608139.html

** Based on Mr. Murdoch’s net worth as listed here: http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/10/billionaires08_Rupert-Murdoch_639W.html

I would suggest that before you label Kidman's donation as a "pittance", you should go down the list of Australia's biilionaires and look at how much they donated. After the billionaires, look at donations from the Aussies with net worth over $250 Million. Then look at those with comparable net worth as Kidman. You'll find out soon enough that her donation is indeed VERY GENEROUS by comparison.
-----

To Anna and all the UMyths folks who are belittling Nicole's donation, I DARE you to list the donations of Australia's Top 10 richest folks and their donations to the bushfire appeal and let's see what percentage of their net worth they are donating.

I'm glad Nicole and Keith made their donations known. Then there's a basis for comparison between their donations and those from other Aussie celebs and the country's mega-rich set. A friend of mine just sent me this link with information about what China's top 10 richest folks donated to that tragic earthquake last year. The information was based on donations tallied one week after the earthquake. http://www.asianoffbeat.com/default.asp?display=1771

We're now at the one week mark of the Aussie bushfires. C'mon Anna, let's see how deeply your mega-rich countrymen dig into their own pockets to help their own countrymen.

Doesn't a "good deed" become undone once you talk about it or let it be known what you've done? What's that old saying again? I believe they could have donated without saying how much they gave, and it doesn't matter how much or how little. Of course they're going to donate. As for the video, it was SO obvious that there was a teleprompter or cue cards for them to read from (well for HER to read from). And of course she had to be holding his hand again. She must be afraid that he is going RUN if she ever lets go!!!

You can remind Brangelina about that. btw... they scooped up a total of over USD $19 million for selling pictures of their children. Out of that amount, they have only given less than USD $5 million to various charities.

Yeah right, they are donating "anonymously" too. LMAO!!! Just do a google search on "Angelina Jolie donated" and you'll see how many "anonymous" entries you will get.

Imahick said...

I have no problem with the amount of the donation. It was generous enough. I think it was tacky to reveal the amount. It was pretentious and calculated. She wanted the attention that donation would get her and that was why she revealed it.

I thought NK looked fake and insincere, and Keith looked like he was afraid to say anything without her approval. So...he said very little.

It was however, good that they participated. They are important celbrities (correction - NK is an important celebrity) in Oz, so if they helped motivate some people to donate, good for them.

As far as flying over there, for what? Does anyone here actually think NK would DO anything to help? She is a spokesperson...not a "doer". Well, maybe she would share her water with a burnt koala, if she found one while out jogging, ... but I'm not convinced of that either.

Anonymous said...

If she did not reveal the amount of the donation, the Aussie press will make something up and print the stories anyway!

This is no different than the Aussie press "giving away" NK's Sutton Forest property to her sister Antonia. LMAO! And some bloggers really have brain malfunction to not realize it's NOT the Aussie press' property to give away.

sonora, you are right. We'd see different amounts floating around in various blurbs. And the skeptics would say they actually donated nothing because they have no proof, and she just wanted to get her mug on tv.

And its funny you mention the Pitts...I read recently Brad's explanation for the selling of the baby photos. Because according to him it satisfied the demand. Yeah sure Pitt, after that cover your kids are never going to be photographed again and you all can live in peace. What a crock of you-know-what.

That's what I was trying to say. But then some of you are saying the press would make up their own figure - that's a shame, I guess they can't win either way, but she did look so fake as she tried to sound sincere. Excellent and very insightful points. But as is kidman's still desperate and whiney self pitying want...as her recent "insights" in regard to her ever public exploiting of her onetime marriage to cruise...as recent as only about 4 months ago... quote kidman from Glamour mag last November..."I thought, I don’t deserve to be here. We would go to the Oscars and I would think, I’m here to support [Tom]. I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and be seen and not heard."
So basically in regards to the orb...kidman decided to get her own "kidman"... to be seen and not heard.

Choice, the orb is just another PR tool she simply aquired to compete with cruise when he became engaged...married and had a baby. And kidman attained the first two only months...if not weeks after cruise.
So, the Daytona 500 is tommorrow, and if cruise is in fact going to drive the pace car...and therefore possibly "dumping" into the orb, who is playing in a pre show gig...or maybe setting up a "meeting" with kidman... no one officially is "hyping" that fact..not the Daytona website...hendrick"s site, who supposedly invited cruise...or for that matter ESPN.com.

maclen said...

Ha! funny bit from Daytona this morning...

http://www.abcactionnews.com/content/sports/sportstalk/story/Daytona-weather-update/Jxui3XRQI0W1eu_uzlCSWQ.cspx

"He had a good sense of humor when asked a couple of questions, one being,"What's your favorite race car movie." He laughed, obviously knowing his wife was in "Days of Thunder "with ex-hubby Tom Cruise, who is also here. Urban paused, and then said "Cars" to everyone's laughter."

...if getting cruise brought up by kidman constantly wasnt enough...and now it's the nascar crowd!
Well this ABC story says cruise is driving the pace car...

"Kidman did not accompany Urban to the media room. My guess is she's keeping a low profile with the "Cruise" patrol around. Tom Cruise will be driving the pace car. Govenor Charlie Christ is the grand marshall."

Boy oh boy, cant wait for that special special reunion!

maclen said...

So, I was wrong.. so cruise IS at the 500...saw it on the pre race show. Cruise's rancor over kidman must be fading. I'd say it's because kidman's career is finished...and cruise seems to have aborted the perception of his own demise with his last film.

Imahick said...

I don't think we'll see a reunion, though. I wonder if NK will spend any time with Connor, who is there with his Dad? Maybe she can hook up a webcam in the bus and chat to him.

...wow...I said it during the grammys, and I'll say it again...the orb is such an inconsequential and unsubstansive "jingler." The jonas brothers seem more complex than the orbs "ditties."And his very weak and twangy voice doesnt help..

...Imahick, if kidman is there, I gather she was all for the orb playing in the preshow...I have no doubt in her depression over her career tanking...she wanted to relive her "rush" of hooking up with cruise all those years ago during days of thunder...unluckly for her cruise decided to also attend and stomp on the moment...she must be having those flashbacks of being overshadowed by cruise again...well, I guess cruise's love for nascar trumps his distaste for kidman...

realitycheck said...

maclen you must have missed the Jonas Brothers on the Grammys when they slaughtered "Superstition". One of the boys sounded like he was constipated on the toilet.

I don't know what you were expecting anyway. We all know it was a song for a cartoon gopher. Which by the way will be played every week there's a race. So I say good for Keith. His pre-show concert was a blast. Him having fun out in a crowd.

As for the Cars quote it shows Keith isn't going to fall for the media ploy of asking what his favorite movie was. They did it on purpose to see if they could get a negative reaction, kind of like when paps goad celebs out in public to see if they'll say something bad. Gossip and pure nastiness are replacing decent journalism and media coverage. Very sad indeed.

Imahick said...

I personally thought that the gopher song was cute. It's not meant to be an intellectual masterpiece...it's for a gopher.

As far as the pre-race concert, he looked good and I thought he did well. Especially given it isn't the ideal venue for music. In the interview & at the press conference, even when they tried to make it about NK, he didn't fall for it and kept the topic on his music or something unrelated to NK. This is new. In the past, he would gush about his wife and how happy he was. Today, he diverted the attention back to his music or himself. Good for him.

If he can keep that up over the duration of his tour, I'll be happy. I just want it to be about his music and his career and not about his personal life.

Imahick said...

There are lots of great pictures of Connor and Tom at the race. (on Getty Images) Connor looks great and there is obviously a close relationship between father and son.

Where is NK? This was an opportunity for her to spend time with Connor. Connor is clearly not camera shy so...why no pictures of him with his mother. (No not Kate...NK)

Perhaps she took this time to spend some private quality time with cruise's daughter bella? Maybe she's networking the nascar set to do a remake to Days of THunder..this time with the orb?

Sorry, but as far as the pics of Keith's performnce... it was the same ol crap. Now dont get me wrong! Yes he is a good entertainer, but dammit- get a new clip clop in your step, get a new look, at least he changed clothes but &^%$. I'm so tired of seeing the same ol' stuff! Just because he has a daughter (allegedly), does this mean he will be playing for the toons from now on? He always made fun of having a duet- saying it was a last resort for an artist, but what about when you have to represent a rodent???

Maclen - congratulations on coming second with your preference. And I think we can safely assume now how Keith came up with that new album title:

Yeah, choice, it's pretty obvious from the orbs own words where his "inspiration" comes from...I'd really be interested in seeing the cover to the album...any more subconsious, (or was it consious?) freudian messages? ...HA!...just looked up if there was a cover pic yet...but I did find this quote from the orb at wiki..."Defying Gravity comes from the lyrics of a song on the album and it just struck me at the time as a phrase that really defined the joyous, optimistic and uplifting spirit that seemed to show itself while making the album."
...so besides "joyous and optimistic" spirits showing themselves to him... what, or who, was that "uplifting" spirit that showed itself to him? Did it appear to have a little swelling below the eyes and mouth? So what's the name of the song? "Somewhere over the Rhinoplasty?"... "Botox Boogie Woogie?"... "Collagen of the wild?"

Cool Maclen. I think the album cover is a Tennessee Botox Clinic. There is also a cover of "Fade to grey" on the album. Apparently a tribute to a lady who went from red to strawberry blonde to grey.

As a long time race fan, myself, it was no surprise that Tom drove the pace car yesterday. He's been at many races over the years. As for Keith, I loved his performance. Looking back at previous Daytona pre show concerts, Keith's was one of the better ones. Race fans get the whole "Digger" cartoon thing, so none of us think it's weird that a song has been written for it. As a Keith Urban fan, I love it even more that he wrote/sings the song. Tom and Keith were both at the driver's meeting before the race yesterday. They were seated on opposite sides of the room, according to an article I read. At some point, Connor came over to talk to Keith. Not sure when that was. There was no sign of Nicole yesterday, although Keith did say she was there. Tom watched the race from Jeff Gordon's pit box.

Well, well, I bet that driver's meeting was a ball. Speaking of balls, kikkers are definately, it appears, right where he wants them, in nikkers hands. Uh, I bet that hurts. After all that exercising, she must have a death grip like no other.

As far as the "Defying Gravity" title of kikkers new album, definately getting ideas from nikkers with all that "natural" work been done lately. Sure hope kikkers does not get any ideas about actually defying gravity like nikkers does, botox, etc.

Anyone think maybe nikkers was on the down low because "both" of her men were there and did not want to show too much attention to either one. Aussie princess did not want a scene to erupt.

Just think, just 5 days till more of that nikkers and kikkers "public display of gazing into each others eyes so lovingly" at the oscars, sunday.

Well, actually keith, the orbs own personal "work" is already out there...

The Keith Urban That Used To Be

...I agree with commentor "Kim"..."Yama hama."

... a 30-something dudes face does not "transform" that drastically in about 10 yrs without a little help... which would actually explain the orbs choice of name for his live tour...ESCAPE TOGETHER...they both decided years ago to escape reality together...and there is no doubt about it... kidman would NEVER, EVER had hooked up with the pre 2000 orb!

Oh, Maclen, that was truly the funniest thing I've seen in weeks.

Thank you.

Oh, my, I thought I looked bad in the nineties! Rethink that, won't I?!

Oh, man, that's funny!

Some snapshots of the Daytona Demons from Sunday. Where is Suzi Quatro when you need her?

Actually, I heard that the driver's meeting was no big deal. They were very gracious to each other and an article said that Tom heartily applauded Keith when he was introduced at the meeting.

Yeah, I had almost forgotten about these pics I had seen months ago. Just another example of not letting reality from being buried, and just highlighting how they actually appear in fantasyland. But I guess for the fansies its hope that even "quasimodo's" of the past can one day be their "dreamy dreamboats" in the present...and all the orb had to do was pay a visit to "Dr Frankenstein"...and not smoke, of course...but plenty of heroin and alcohol is apparently recommended to contant outpatients...

Yeah, press reports were all over the map on this story...the initial lack of any official confirmation had me wondering if cruise would even actually appear. Some stories said the orb was bringing kidman...I read reports that orb had said she was there...some said cruise would bring holmes. But basically, in the end, it seems cruise agreed to appear because it appears kidman wasnt going to be there. Kidman is still hiding out in her undisclosed location, it seems...no sight of her since she loitered at the grammys...I do expect her to be at the oscars this weekend...she's probably "planning" out her "magnificent" wardrobe, to show off her new and improved face.

Really? Fade to grey? Yeah, it should be fun to examine the orbs next album for hidden and double meanings, choice... I imagine in the hazy fog the orb is in having to live in kidman's PR world has him seeing all kind of freaky hallucinations and weird scenes inside his mind.

I heard audio of an interview Keith did from Daytona and he was asked if Nicole was there and he said yes. A lot of times cameras are not allowed in the driver's meetings so there may not ever be pictures from that. Sometimes cameras are allowed in. It just depends on NASCAR's "mood". I never heard if camera's were allowed or not that day. As for not seeing any evidence of NK at the track, I didn't mind at all. I watched to see the race (and Keith), not NK. I think she must have known her place that day.

kiki said...

I meant that there might not be any pictures of Keith and Tom at the driver's meeting. Not Nicole at the driver's meeting. My wording above made it sound like I was talking about NK at the meeting. Just wanted to clarify.

Unknown said...

He had 'his' NK there when someone asked. That was all he needed.

Hey, can someone tell me where I can buy that book? I never got a chance to read it.
