The Morton Book: Truth or Fiction about Kidman?

I couldn't wait; I got my copy of the Morton book on Nicole's former love yesterday and while reading through the chapters that Nicole appears in, I was struck by a very interesting thought.

Nicole Kidman is very much her own creation. Described by someone in the book as the most manipulative person they have ever met, Kidman used her ambition and place as the wife of one of Hollywood's biggest stars to her advantage. I am not going to write a lengthy review here; go buy the book. It is very intricate about the religion and the actor and to take it out of context would lessen the impact that the star and his religion and that relationship has in his evolution.

Let’s talk about Kidman. Her one true love was not the first, or second, or third lover she lived with. Kidman and her true love had an intense courtship. He showered her with flowers and jewels and even bought her a Mercedes and had it delivered to her by way of a flat bed truck. But Kidman also kept a beau back in Oz who was unaware that Nicole was seeing Tom until they showed up at the 1990 Oscars. She was given lessons in his religion and while her father who was a psychiatrist was viewed as a threat, she was given a pass and her one true love proposed with a note on her pillow that read, "My darling Nicole, I have chased you and chased you until you caught me. Now will you marry me?" And on Christmas Eve 1990 in a candlelit room filled with roses and lilies they married. She spilled the news to a radio station in Sydney and told of her desire to have her children born in Australia to ground them.

She got pregnant during the shooting of a film in Ireland and miscarried in LA not too long after. Morton states in the book that Kidman was told not to conceiveas it would be dangerous to her health to be with child.

For the next ten years they were THE couple and Nicole grew used to the lifestyle. She awoke at 8 a.m. in the morning, she then worked out and had her hair done. She was given access to a plane to fly wherever she wanted and she did. She would pick up the phone and call her art dealer and have her true love buy her whatever she wanted for her birthday or the holidays. That is how she got her art collection. She told of her desire to birth a baby of her own. They set about getting their daughter. After a few weeks they had a new baby to call their own. Nicole's true love took a very hands on attitude with the infant. He would play and feed and tend to her. They also hired nannies 24/7 and so the new mother could be free to pursue her career.

The career - that was the rub. Nicole wasn't making the movies that her husband was. She wanted her own fame. She had some fame at home but she wasn't a star. She acted like a movie star treating her staff as servants and making them sign an eight page document that assured confidentiality. The staff in turn would watch her and tell her true love where she was. The attention was great at first but later she grew to resent it.

Many around these two at the time said she ALWAYS got her way. She would have tantrums and pout if the right kind of caviar wasn't on the plane. She fought with her true love’s sister. She longed to be more than a clothes horse - which she wasn't naturally - that was something her true love taught her. He even had people shop for her because she didn't like to. He bought her the films she wanted to do. She got good notices but it wasn't until To Die For and her turn on stage in The Blue Room that she became a star. The true love wanted another child and once they adopted him, Nicole went off to make another movie. She left the children often with their father to work. They moved around a lot and she spent a lot of time back in Sydney without her husband and her children. Days would go by before she called about them, Morton says.

The rumors about their marriage were many by the late 90's. The true love sued many people, and during one lawsuit information about their struggles to have children were revealed. Some say that is when Kidman fell out of love. The book talks about the rumored affairs, the jealousy and envy she felt. It also talked about the end, and the end was a long time coming - not as sudden or as surprising as many thought. She has a distant relationship with her children and her actions were the cause for that. She stayed quiet during the years after the divorce but her marriage to troubled country singer Keith Urban in a Catholic ceremony sealed her relationship with her children.

For those who have heard Kidman comes out looking good in this book, she doesn't. She is portrayed as being insecure, prone to panic attacks, is said to have a temper and is manipulative. Any one who has watched Kidman for the last three years play with Keith Urban already knew that. It is nice that the rest of the world gets to see it now.

I knew it! Oh thank you Urban Myths, as i can't buy the book here in Oz, it's nice to hear some of the things I know to be true exist in print!

That book isnt to be taken as fact any more than this blog. I can guarantee if the book had Nicole smelling like a rose, it wouldnt be praised at all by Umyths. But then again that would never happen since that doesnt sell copies.

The only ones who think she smells like a rose are her worshipers who continue to wear those rose colored glasses when viewing their Queen.

To quote Keith-"It is what it is."

Of course folks who create fantasies and lies like UrbanMyths and her buddies would embrace Mr. "Fastasy weaver" Morton's new book.

His publishers would NOT dare to publish this book in the UK, Australia and NZ, where the laws are tight enough to ensure that Morton and his publishers will be sued, and TC and the Scientology Church will pocket some hefty change.

C'mon Mr. Morton and publishers, display some cajones and publish the book in the UK, NZ and Australia!

banbotox, what about those here who wear blinders and believe she's the skank of Sydney? Puuhleeze! She's neither the saint they portray her to be over at NKU or the monster she's portrayed here. Reality check!

Banbotox, I dont really think it takes another celeb bio to convince those who believe that she is truly a shallow, manipulative, overly self-centered narcissist. The fact that she spent years grinding her movie career into the ground with the lousy movie roles, and preoccupation with the botox, lip injections and breast implants... the fact that it all failed to keep her from complete flopdom will no doubt wreak havoc with her domestic and personal "career", whatever that may be... again I dont see too much satisfaction in her professional life, because what else does she have? Non existant charity work? The tennesse ranch? Her hand fed goats?

Just because Tom believes in something that isn't of the norm we dismiss all that is in the book.
Thats his religion good bad or whatever he can believe what he wants.
The point of the blog was that so many of the skeptics had a feeling Kidman was the way she was, what the Morton book did was expose her to the world. Reading about her alone was worth the price.
For all you Kidman lovers it hurts to read about what a manipulative bitch she really is doesn't it? Oh and if all of you thought the news about the bouncing bundle of joy was going to scare any skeptics off wipe that thought from your closed narrow minded brains. We are staying because if she can manipulate the biggest movie star in the world and a superstar Country singer think about what she will do to a little baby.

A) I still don't buy the fact that she miscarried at the beginning of their relationship and a doctor told her not to get pregnant again. She was in her 20's, healthy and in good shape. I say that story was a plant so they could adopt a Scientology child. She stated many times over the years about having a biological child - if a doctor told her not to conceive why would she continue to talk about something like that?

B) I don't doubt she became accustomed to his lifestyle. I think her self-exclusion from TC & the kids has more to do with Scientology and less to do with falling out of love. It was inevitable that the marriage would fail if she did not convert fully. The same will happen with TC & Kate if she doesn't buy (and I do mean buy, as in big dollars for all those auditing sessions you have to do) into it hook, line & sinker. (I firmly believe that Will Smith's "coming out" has everything to do with keeping his marriage together). This isn't like a Catholic & a Jew getting married.

C) If TC is controlling as the book indicates, it's no wonder she's crazy and manipulative herself. Maybe Keith can balance her out and teach her a new way. Maybe it's time we start giving him some credit.

Do you see any evidence of Keith having any influence on NK? I don't. I see him jumping at her command...She's in complete control and enjoying every minute.

So you're telling me that all you got out of this book was how, Nicole was living the high life and how horrible of a person she is? So, it doesn't strike any of you odd that he had people shop for her? What else do you think he had done for her? Why is everything here her fault? And I'm sure that Andrew Morton is a full expert on the matter. I'm sure he lived with them for the 10 years they were married.
I'm sure, that those disgruntled ex-employess that signed some major confidentialty agreements, broke those in the name of money.

And why, if Andrew Morton was so set on telling the truth, didn't he expose the supposed gay affairs that Tom was having on the side?

I don't know about any of you, regardless of what you think about NK, Katie Holmes should scare the shit outta quite alot of you. I mean, look at her transformation.

Take it with a grain of salt, of course.

And of course, reality check, you know Nicole personally so you know exactly how to portray her, right? Talk about needing a reality check...

Andrew Morton and his publishers must be scared s*h*i*tless that they have no facts to back up their book, hence they decided not to publish the book in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

In those countries, Mr. Morton and his publisher will have the onus to defend everything in the book should Tom or anyone else harmed by the book decide to sue.

Mr. Morton's book is made up of lies and unverified rumours. I will only read his book if he and his publisher dare to release the book in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

He he he..No, I submit that she IS kidman... stinking up this blog like she stinks up the movies she's in.

maclen said...

Well... personally, another celeb bio will not effect any personal opinions I have about kidman... the target of this blog. Just as previous bios had no effect. My opinions of her have been formed over the years of public interviews, public actions, or in this case, inactions to the contrary of her public utterances. The allegations of this Morton book seem like a rehash of past rumors gossip, which may or may not be true... but I do agree with a reviewer of this book, that cruise was simply used as an excuse by Morton to bash the true target of this book, Scientology. And my concern over scientology is the same as christianity or any other religion, none. And, shutupand sing and tara, people constantly coming to this blog demanding "facts", as Ive probably said before, should try offering some "facts" and proof of their claims because they are just really tiresome.

"And you know this how"

As I said, when Mr. Morton and his publishers have the guts to publish the book in the UK, Australia and NZ, I'll read the book.

Until then, it's just a book of lies and unverified rumours to me.

Nice try, maclen, but I'm not Kidman. Keep going with your lies and fantasies. It's just too bad yours are not good enough to get you an offer to write a script or a book.

Get your facts straight senora...Morton isn't afraid to publish the book anywhere.

The UK & Oz publishers are the ones halting the release of the book. Here's just one report at this link:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/01/15/2138467.htm

So, the question should really be, what is Australia afraid of?

Hmmmm?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/01/15/2138467 ??????

I repeat: when Mr. Morton and his publishers have the guts to publish the book in the UK, Australia and NZ, I'll read the book.

No publishers in these countries would touch the book because they KNOW the author will be hit with a defamation suit, and they will be named as parties to it.

notachance said...

Sonora is correct. The publishers will not publish in those countries in order to protect themselves and the author. It's much harder in the US to prove any allegations - and they know it. That is part of the reason our country is such a sue-happy mess - it's far too easy to say whatever you want without being accountable.

TexasCourtJester said...

Of course TC will sue! He sues every little magazine that even vaguely suggests he might be gay. A whole book trying to correct the pr crap he's released over the years and claims his religion isn't the best thing since sliced bread will fill the court dockets for years with frivolous lawsuits if only because he has the money to do so.
