The Real Reason for the Grammy Snub

Kidman knew George and Johnny weren't going to be there.

First we have the hideous outfit from February 20 in Japan. Next we have the lovely peignoir for the actual premiere on the 21st. No doubt Kidman and the "fetus" will be meeting up with the sperm donor in LA. What lovely ensemble will she be wearing I wonder? Kidman claims Keith is with her in Japan but there has been no sightings of him.

According to Cindy Adams, Kidman will be in the front row at the 80th Oscar presentation along with George Clooney, former "co-star", and Johnny Depp. Will she walk down the red carpet? Will Keith join her? For a picture of her fake face that the media will carry for a year, Kidman will work the red carpet. Kidman, glowing; Kidman with the "fetus" in some lovely frock that will show that bump off to the entire world. Of course, Kidman will be competing with Cate and perhaps Halle for the bump award. But Kidman has something over them. Her age? The geriatric pregnancy? Nope. She will be joined by her famous sperm donor.

Unlike those other two, Kidman married herself a star in his own right and while Kidman could give a fu*k any other time about Keith and his popularity this will be the golden time to play it. Forbes magazine said they are the third most powerful celebrity couple.

Strut that stuff on the carpet Kidman. That crowd knows who Keith is. Drag your soon to be more successful than you sperm donor with you. I can't wait to see what creation she will outfit Keith in. He went gangster last year. The year before Keith had his first grown up suit. At the CMAs, she put him in a Sherlock Holmes Tom Ford ensemble. Don't worry, Nicole, he will follow your orders. He has, for the most part, lost his sexiness, so now he is just your canvas. Since Brad and Angelina won't be there the Kidman’s will be the couple of the night.

Make no mistake, dear reader, this is her show and her statement. It’s the only time anyone sees her since no one goes to her movies anymore and few care about her personally.

So sit tall and proud Nicole, Keith and little "fetus" we will get to watch you all night long. Do you think they might actually stay for the whole evening? The Vanity Fair party is canceled, so just make sure someone gives Keith his bottle of water so he can have something to do since no one inside the theater will actually know who he is besides being the sperm donor.

I hope for Urban's sake that they have In & Out burgers again, otherwise the whole evening is gonna be a total downer for him! He's like a dog being led by a bone. The Queen just holds an In & Out burger in front of him to get him to sit nice for the candid pics at the after-ceremony parties!

I can't wait for the red carpet show.

George Clooney will look amazing as always, Keith should take notes from him.

They say jewel tones are in this year - wonder if NK will follow suit?

don't believe the lies said...

Well I am betting that her "baby bump" will grow overnight. Several people...besides the ones here...have been speculating over the non-existent bump. I can't wait to hear her gush over "it" on the red carpet. *GAG*

I also wouldn't expect her to sit anywhere else besides front row. Although I do wonder how she still manages to pull that off while with the god awful movies she makes...oh that's right the all mighty dollar. It must cost a lot to pull this off. To actually get a little camera time just so people actually remember who the hell you are because they aren't going to your movies.

Such a sad state that Keith got himself into. It's a shame that he's had to resort to this to feel signifigant. Even though I don't feel sorry for him at all.

isitoveryet said...

The Queen will be flaunting the belly for sure! Since JLo had her babies - all the talk will be about that, and she will need to turn the focus on herself way, so she will really arch that back now!

so true, don't believe the lies.....and i fully expect the bump to appear large, since everybody is wondering where "it" is from the tokyo pics

ShutUpAndSing said...

It's not the "fetus" it's "the child inside me" lol

With all the bad press she has been getting the past couple of days..the Oscars should be interesting..

Will the bump be bigger.. will the worm have crawled out of her lip..will her narly red hands be even more ugly..will she wear a bow, barrettes or flowers in her hair..will keith have to paint her toenails..so many decisions so little time

After seeing and hearing her the last couple of days, I am convinced the woman (and I use that losely) has lost her mind!

isitoveryet said...

What does everybody think of her claiming that Keith was with her in Tokyo, but yet not one picture of him?

inittowinit said...

I don't believe for one second that Keith was with her in Tokyo. She wants everyone to think they are such a natural down-to-earth nuclear family so if he was there, there would surely be pictures.

maclen said...

If urban was in Tokyo, no doubt he was at the hotel room on house cleaning duty. Because that is the perception that he is stuck with. Marrying kidman lost him any semblance of being a down to earth musician in touch with the experiences of his country fans. That explains why they've abandon him. And I gather the whole Grammy fiasco, what with how "mommy" had to write him a note for being absent, loses even more of them. It seems no one gets any explainations anymore for these things from him, but they now have to come from her... she's out and about without him, but says he's there... when urban is actually MIA. Well, his career is MIA... and only a few notice him behind kidman, or behind underwood, chesney...

C'mon have a heart. Regardless what you think about Nicole. I really could care less you berate her on a daily basis, but geez being so crude as to call their unborn baby "the fetus" is a bit much. Babies not even born yet and you're already cutting into it.

Your HARSH!

TexasCourtJester said...

"To call their unborn baby "the fetus" is a bit much."

If it's ok for every doctor, nurse, and medical personnel on the planet to call an unborn baby a fetus (it should be past them embreo stage by now) why are we being harsh doing the same. We are just using the technical term. Why is that not ok white trash?

isitoveryet said...

What's wrong with fetus? That's the medical term for it. If you read her medical charts, I'm sure they refer to fetus - not baby! It is what it is!

notachance said...

While "fetus" may be a medical term, the bloggers here are not medical professionals using it in medical context. I highly doubt said doctors talk to Nic & Keith about the baby to their face and say "fetus".

Stop trying to shield yourselves from the truth by using words for things that you wouldn't normally. Somehow I think you believe that by calling the baby a "fetus" you are not recognizing its' real existence and therefore still not willing to accept that he chose this woman to marry and have a child with.

If you were talking about Brangelina and their possible bump (or any other star), would you be calling it a fetus? Somehow I doubt it. You would be saying baby.

I doubt Keith was in Tokyo. There would have been pictures of him protecting her from those crazy paps. IF and that's a big if he was maybe he was back at the hotel changing light bulbs or something. Fetus, the thing inside her, whatever you want to call it I don't think it even exists.

isitoveryet said...

And bump is a warm fuzzy word to say?

maclen said...

..And as for kidman being at another pointless premiere for a movie that flopped 2 months ago, it's really a wonder she even showed up... but she has another PR photo op to try and flog. And shes going to present at the Oscars... I seem to recall she presented last year also... fat lot of good it did for her 3 movies that failed that year. But now, its just about getting mocked for her hideous dresses, her elastic and shifting face and more and more about simply being a terrible and totally shameless promoter of herself... and now also an emasculator of a hasbeen singer... the industry pundits may pretend to still be impressed, but no one who really matters does.

"Kidman claims Keith is with her in Japan but there has been no sightings of him."

And if there were pictures, you'll simply say Wendy Day staged it? Lol!

Keith was not photographed by the Japanese press because he's not known there other than being the husband of Nicole. They don't have pictures either of the director's wife and Dakota Blue Richards' mother, who were also in Tokyo.

As usual, your wild speculation has nothing to do with reality.

notachance said...

Interesting fact - while her movies may have "flopped" here in the states, some have been performing quite well on the rest of the planet and are not the money bombs you'd have everyone believing.

So, while you continue to whine your whine about her self-centered promotion of "yet another flop" months after it came out, please keep in mind that the other stars of the movie are there as well, and that the movie is just being released in that country.

If it weren't for the internet and today's instant society those of us back here wouldn't know a thing about that premiere.

Maybe they need the US market, maybe they can't secure all the principals as they'd like. I understand the movie has grossed over 300mil worldwide. I wouldn't call that a flop.

White Trash said...

"But Miss Scarlett, I don't know nothin' bout birthin no babies!"

Anyone who knows anything about having babies knows the unborn baby is called a FETUS (get a grip), it's the way the blogger has nicknamed their unborn baby as "THE FETUS" is what I find cruel. She's already labeled the infant as if it were some extra terrestial (yeah, you all will probably have a field day with that one).

It's a child, an innocent one. Yeah her parents may not be so innocent, but don't label the baby as if it were to blame.

KUsnob said...

Did you guys see how great Dierks is to his fans? He's coming out with a greatest hits and only 5 years into his career. What is he thinkin' indeed. So, I suppose his marriage to a "regular" woman has this effect on him.
Anyway, he's letting his fans choose the album cover, title, live song & put your name on it. Gotta love him!

Humm suppose Nicole doesn't allow Keith such ideas.

inittowinit said...

I find the use of "Fetus" as ironic. It's an appropriate name for an unborn baby, yet it's also a term used in an ambiguous manner to identify an "unborn" as opposed to a "baby". The irony is that to Nicole Kidman, this will never be a baby. This will be a means by which she will be identified. She will now be a "mother" because to hear her talk about it, she must not have ever been one before, even though she does have children. She doesn't want a baby; she wants identity. Her movies are flopping and she will soon be known as a hasbeen. There will be no one to take her pictures; no one interested in her. Hollywood won't be calling anymore. This "baby" will serve as an excuse. While we all know from her past, she would never really stay home and end her career to truly be a mother and take care of her own children - what's their names again? But this time will be different. There will come a day when Hollywood no longer calls when she will miraculously decide she needs to spend more time with her new child. The general public will think she's such a great Mom - she'll be the Garth Brooks of Hollywood, who cares more for her child than a career. But we, the skeptics will know better. So yes, I feel "Fetus" is a most appropriate term for this baby; the poor dear.

inittowinit said...

There's no question, Kusnob, Dierks is great to his fans. He's a class act and he cares. He didn't use his marriage as a publicity stunt, either. And I believe he married for love. There's no comparison between Dierks and Keith. Once again, Keith is a big boy. Keith could do a lot of things but he's gotten too big for his britches. He allows 50+ people back for the BSE and only 8 are fans. He doesn't hold a fanclub party anymore and uses an old recycled Valentine's Day greeting from last year on his fanclub site. I don't believe any of these things are fault of Nicole Kidman. He just doesn't need to do these things to boost his image anymore because he has her for that. Only he is to blame for that road. But - she still sought him out and took a bite. I blame her for sinking in her teeth and manipulating him into going along with this arrangement. I do completely believe this was an arrangement in the beginning and somehow, during rehab, things changed. Maybe that's because he realized this was the quickest road to where he wanted to be, but I still blame her for starting something which should have been left alone. He has an addictive personality, she realized that, and took advantage.

wastedemotion said...

Just about every other artist treats their fans better than Keith treats his.

Imagine - it only took Dierks FIVE YEARS to have enough hits to record a Greatest Hits album. How long did it take Mr. Kidman?

realitycheck said...

As outrageous as some of their claims are, the skeptics arent idiots. But they think everyone else is.

The skeptics know they are mocking an unborn child when they call it a fetus. No one in everyday conversation calls it that unless you are a medical professional or in a political context i.e. abortion

The skeptics know that former winners have always sat in the front row. Nicole is an Oscar winner, a fact they want to forget.

The skeptics know that the Oscars is the most formal award show there is. Far more formal than anything Keith had been to previously. He looks drop dead gorgeous in a suit. Too bad skeptics.

The skeptics know it wouldnt matter if no one knows who Keith is (even though that isnt true). He is there with his spouse as any other non-actor at the Oscars is.

The skeptics know that not everyone is enamored with Brangelina and some of the viewing public will be glad they arent there.

The skeptics know that people go see Nicoles movies. They arent blockbusters but thats not what she's after. If she were the poison they'd like us to belive she would have been done years ago. And she wouldnt be in the front row Sunday night.

Skeptics, i hope you enjoy seeing Nicole there. I know i will.

isitoveryet, Capitol is trying to increase DB's sales by having him release a greatest hits. IMO he hasnt been around long enough to warrant one and sells less records than Keith, Capitol's leader.

TexasCourtJester said...

"Maybe they can't secure all the principals as they'd like."

WRONG. Nic was REQUIRED to sign a 3 picture deal. That's part of what held up negotiations - she wanted to do one, see how it did, then decide if she wanted to do the other 2. The studio said no, it was 3 or 0. If they did it with one actor I'm sure they did it with all of them.

woriedmonkey said...

Much as I dislike NK and her utterly contrived personage, I am wondering if she was contractually obligated to go the Japan. In other words... she knew she had a big trip ahead and didn't want to overdo it running to the states also (Grammies).
I saw TGC pix of her in her nightie and I still think she is 4 months along. The 'child inside" needs our prayers, if you ask me ,because he/she/it is going to have one helluva narcissistic mother. Let's hope the child is loved and respected in such a way that it gets to have an identity of it's own.

I have no idea how Keith treated his fans before but the truth is he is now over 40 and his priorities in life may have changed. He may be hungry for other things beyond fan adoration. I do agree that he needs the fix from the audience; in fact I don't think I've ever seen a performer so luxuriate and be so comfortable with the love coming from the audience. He is so physically open when he's performing not at all guarded about being touched and pawed. Quite amazing. I still think he's an incredible performer even if he doesn't mix up his setlist. And I want to add here, even though theres lots of gripes abpout LPATWCT... and the tripy cover of that old Leo Sayer;hil Collins thing( and the kind of lame TIGIRTT and dirgy Everybdy) there is..
Used to the Pain and Stupid Boy... both of which are stunning songs which push the edge for Keith and are up there with his absolute best. I Told YOu So.. is also up there with Keith's best clever, witty totally catchy hits. And once in a LIfetime love is also pretty hot. So I don't think he's totally lost his mojo. He's not the most fascinating lyricist ( and he's the first to admit it) but he is still compelling to me. Anyway I digress.

I'm sure NK will use the living daylights out of the baby but I think differently about KU I really don't see him as a manipulator. Malleable maybe, but a good soul. Can't say the same for her. Keith once said he likes anything with soul..... she must keep hers hidden away in a shoebox.

KUsnob said...

realitycheck,
WOW! We agree...And I hope you see my point I was trying to make about how some artists are given free reign to choose singles and make their own choices while some are not. If you go to Dierks website, it even says that the record company has already chosen the first tracks that are going to be on the Greatest Hits. But atleast it's driven for the fans to help be a part of something.

And here's the other thing for you Nicole/Keith basher/haters. Echomusic is the fanclub for BOTH Dierks and Keith, but why isn't Echo calling and telling you to vote for Dierks like they are for Keith?

Now back to regular schedule programming. Bashing Nicole. And that Fetus thing is about the lowest, meanest thing you could say. Remember that when you all get pregnant. Regardless of your feelings of her and even your pro-choice feelings that's just cold to Keith Urban.

realitycheck said...

worriedmonkey, actors do have contractual obligations to promote their movies. I wouldnt be suprised if that was the case considering what a big event it was. This wasnt Nicole showing up for a couple of morning shows.

kusnob, i read that DB's GH album will be live versions. If thats the case Capitol is really banking on existing fans to buy this record. While i love Dierks he's not going to get very many people outside the country market to buy his records. But Keith can.

The notion of whether New Line intends to continue this series was certainly answered when just a week after compass's dismal first weekend numbers, New Line head, bob shaye, who Ok'd this Compass debacle.... and who by the way may be out of a job soon for said debacle...
a usual result when they idiotically employ kidman... as you'll recall sherry lansing got the boot from Paramount after the stepford debacle.... but I digress... bob shaye settled the dispute with peter Jackson to begin production of The Hobbit... with not just one, but into two movies...predictably in place of the poor compass . New Line lost millions off it because New Line sold off the foreign rights to offset the bloated 250 mill cost of compass, confirmed by the director and sam elliot in an interview, no doubt trying to rachet up interest...Nice Play, Shakespeares. So New Line got 69.8 mil for their 250 mil investment...(thats the kidman way of lalaland business!). So if there are sequels, it wont be from New Line, as they seem to be going bye bye real soon as well.

Truthfully, one of the main reasons TGC did poorly in this country was the negative media about the religious aspect of it. It had nothing to do with NK. The religion part had no impact in other areas of the world, where, even though they may be devout in their worship, they seem to be more evolved and are able to seperate bullshit from reality (just look at THEIR politics).

well, goody for you. pop you some popcorn and enjoy the show.

we must not be reading the same articles on her movies and acting career. i have truly tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but her acting stinks, simple as that. yeah, she is still getting parts (which is beyond me). and don't kid yourself, she is after blockbusters. (even though she lies about it)i don't believe for one second she doesn't want to be the star of mega successful movies.

she is also a laughing stock about the cosmetic surgery and botox. somebody on NKU thought they photoshopped her lips in tokyo! lol now that is hilarious!

i agree, in some suits, keith is drop dead gorgeous, and yes alot of past winners sit on the front row. but ALOT of past winners are delegated to the 2nd row, too. even people that have won more recently than NK. and sure they may have spouses there, but they are there as true spouses and not hired help.

for your information not all skeptics call the baby a fetus, so shut up about that.

not EVERYBODY, but alot more people care about brangelina than NK. just admit it.

and lastly, you're correct. not all skeptics are dumb. we see the mockery of them 2 of them trying to portray a fairy tale marriage and an aging actress desperately attempting to be viable and marketable. she's done so much to herself, she looks downright scary.

so, reality check, i'll be watching the show, too, with my feet propped up, maybe enjoying some cheetohs and big red soda, and chatting with my oh so evil skeptic friends.

...Yes, kidman is a rubber faced and wax lipped joke. She had a good run between 2001 and 2003. But the last 4 years shes gone from one insignificant movie to the most ghastly. She will not be in a blockbuster again, certainly not a summer movie, unless she's a 3rd or 4th supporting character. She'll certainly try to sustain her attention addiction by taking the indie flicks and scraps here and there... but with the comedic rubber face, audiences will be looking at her and wondering why her lips keep getting bigger and then thinner from scene to scene.... (its because she takes collogen lip injections, you clueless NKU brain surgeons!) Urban certainly has a bright sunny future to look forward to when kidman herself suffers the withdrawals of success. And it wont be a pretty sight.

woriedmonkey said...

I certainly hope KU has a bright sunny future if he is not tarnished by Plasticina.

Lest we forget, though singers and actors both depend on good material to be really stupendous, Keith is an incredible vocalist, performer and - material aside - asskickingly superb guitarist. He may be more on auto pilot now , with the muse on semi-hiatus, but music is his LIFE and all artists go througb cycles and I believe he's been hugely distracted by Miss Thing. ( Although he does claim she's the use and inspiration for the last album;
yes, "Used To The Pain' , fnar fnar)

He is pretty mainstream, that's true, but he is stilla phenomenally gifted artist and that's not going to change,

I think he'll kick his own ass into gear when he gets tired of being Mr. Kidman. Which I guarantee you , will happen even if he has to spend years
bowing at the alter of the Mother goddess first.

Just my 2 cents.... again.

"maclen, that's the kidman touch-ruin everything she is involved with/in. How's that UN Ambassador gig working for you nickers?"

Well, banbotox, people who choose to simply put on the blinders, and offer every asinine excuse and pass off any responsibility for the failures on others... should also recall the kidman debacles that cost Weinstein Miramax. Back in 2003, kidman was in not just one, but two Miramax films...Human Stain and Cold Mountain. Stain was a stain, grossed only about 5 mill... cold mountain grossed 95 mil, but against a 90 mil cost, nice profit margin...not. And not to mention its Oscar dissapointments... no nom for kidman... no nom for director...no nom for picture. (this is when kidmans "run" ended, no serious noms since) Well, by mid year of 2004 Harvey Weinstein was ousted as head of Miramax... a company weinstein started! Yes, kidman certainly has the "goldenless" touch... and that is not even getting into the up and coming directors who put kidman in their indie flicks, who up to that point had finally gotten attention with critically acclaimed flicks, only to put kidman in their movies, and ground it all to a sudden halt. Steven Shainberg, who had made a splash with the truly provocative Secretary...put kidman in Fur, and hasnt directed another movie since... and dont forget Jonathan Glazer, who made a splash also with the equally provokative Sexy Beast, then put kidman in Birth, and also hasnt directed another movie since. Kidman is in no way provocative, interesting or thoughtful, but wooden, predictable and inexpressive. So not only is kidman a movie killer, she's a studio head killer and a promising director killer. And as we all know will be an Urban Killer.

I don't have any In & Outs near me, so I don't know how good they are, but I would probably pick an In & Out before the Oscars as well. I have felt many, many times that the wrong person has walked away with the awards as well as movies. Some of the movies that are nominated for best movie, I have never even heard of before.

realitycheck said...

maclen, have you seen "Birth" and "Fur"? Both of these movies are not going to appeal to the masses. It wouldnt matter if Julia Roberts starred in these movies. Their lack of profit has nothing to do with Nicole's performances. I believe Nicole should have been at least nominated for "Birth". "The Human Stain" was another complex movie, that although was more accesible than "Birth" or "Fur", did not do well. Once again a great performance by Kidman. I dont take stock in box office receipts to tell me what is a good movie. Its mind boggling to me that a movie like "Wild Hogs" would do as well as it did and "Margot At The Wedding" didnt do more business. No matter, Nicole is still working. I hope "Australia" is huge. It would be nice for Nicole as well as Hugh Jackman who lost his tv deal from the writers strike. But they will both be working after its release either way

banbotox said...

That's very true rc. Hugh because he is a good actor and kidman because she will do any movie so as not stay home and take care of her babbee (giggle, giggle).

Well the point is that Nicole is still on the A list for leading actresses in movies, regardless if they're a hit or not. I happen to agree that I don't get much of the movies she makes and don't think she's a great actress but she still much sought after by the movie industry.

As for Daniel Craig, he's got two movies coming out this year and is still going strong..."Quantum of Solace" and "Defiance"

banbotox said...
"...BTW maclen-should we add Leading Man Killer to her list of accomplishments? Where is Daniel Craig these days?"

Thats a good point banbotox. The fact that her movies are so unpopular and unsuccessful and mostly unwatchable, what other explaination could it be, right!
And as for urban and the oscars, I'm just wondering if its gonna be another repeat of last year...urban attending with her, escorts her out of the limo, kidman hands him her purse and she beelines it to the red carpet without him, and urban simply enters the kodak through the back door? And since kidman has gone and presented to the Oscars every year since she was given an oscar for wearing a putty nose 5 whole years ago..talk about constantly crashing the party! ...and hasnt gotten a nom since then... I'd recommend she start playing the deformed character to the hilt! Instead of playing the mindless pretentious, uptight and prissy dissatisfied wife in Fur... (talk about typecasting!)... she should've played the hairy former freak show dude in that movie. Then she might have gotten multiple Oscar noms for best actress, as well as best actor, and best makeup , special effects.... and then maybe she'd have a legitamate reason to attend every Oscar broadcast, beyond the pathetic need to be constantly seen and mingle with the far more sucessful celebs. But wishful thinking is just as good...

banbotox, i meant Nicole will be able to work when she is ready. I never meant that she would abandon her baby. But you knew that, didnt you?

And to cj, isitoveryet, dontbelievethelies, tara, inittowinit, and anyone else that thinks its cute to call the baby a "fetus", you know better. You know its vile and cruel. And i am calling you out on it. I would never refer to an unborn child by anyone i didnt like, celeb or not, a "fetus".

It really shows the character of certain posters. At least some of the skeptics here have the decency to know its wrong.

realitycheck said...

maclen, you dont get to sit in the front row or present unless the Academy wants you there. I know you cant grasp the idea that Nicole is wanted anywhere but there it is plain as day.

As for not receiving a nom in 5 years, she was definitely overlooked. She had more than one performance in that time that was Oscar worthy. But thats happened to lots of other actresses besides Nicole.

She should have won for Moulin Rouge, but the Academy gave it to Halle Berry. Monster's Ball was a horrible movie. I wish they could have given the Oscar to an African-American actress out of merit. But they had to be politically correct. The Hours is not my favorite NK film but definitely worthy of a nomination.

From the American Heritage Dictionary:

fetus:
The unborn offspring of a mammal at the later stages of its development, especially a human from eight weeks after fertilization to its birth. In a fetus, all major body organs are present.

realitycheck said...

Umyths, please! I dont care what the technical definition is. No one in normal everyday English talks about a pregnancy that way. You know it, i know it, and the rest of the world knows it. Besides the fact the posts containing "fetus", including yours, have a blatant tone of disrespect. You arent fooling anyone.

isitoveryet said...

reality - nobody in normal everyday English uses "My child inside" as a saying either. So if you are bashing us for using the correct medical term for an unborn baby in the later stages as fetus, go give Kidman a piece of your mind for saying "My child inside".

There was a video clip posted at another site. It's actually a Japanese reporter who asked her about her "child inside". It was translated back to her in English, and she replied using the same term. To me, that showed she is sensitive to cultural and language differences. Good on her!

realitycheck said...

Thanks sonora for that clarification! Every skeptic seems to leave that part out. I'd bet money that video was on NKU. And as we all know the skeptics that think NKU is full of kool-aid drinking nutjobs, freely go there to catch up on news about Nicole AND Keith. How convenient. Its a place for psychos but not scary enough for the skeptics to avoid.

You can hide behind technicalities all you want. "My child inside" is still more normal than saying "my fetus" or "the fetus". Ive noticed some of you have even put fetus in quotes, implying she's not having a human baby.

I have no respect for those who are using that term to demean Kidman and an unborn innocent child!

realitycheck said...

"Nope, I have no respect for the Urban/Kidmans."

Umyths, its obvious you have no respect for unborn children as well.

Keep showing your true colors. Its busting myths all over the place, and none of them are about KUNK!

SkepticRN said...

OK...since when is placing the word "FETUS" in quotes a definition for something otherwordly or non human?

Reality Check you have made your point, now drop it. As a nurse I use baby and fetus. Grow up! This debate over the word fetus is nonsense. It is a fetus until it is born, period. And before you go claiming something about "wait until I have children".... I have had 3, thank you and they all were termed a "fetus" when I had my ultrasounds. So don't go blaming the bloggers on this post for YOUR perception of the word FETUS! If you are SOOO offended, why visit here everyday???

realitycheck said...

You are a nurse.

The term was used during ultrasounds.

Youve just proven my point!

Its been said by some that Kidman wont be having a human baby. I know what quotations implies. I know what the word spawn implies. I can read between the lines. Even if its in jest its still vile.

Ive been told to shut up and Ive been told to leave. If you cant handle reading more than the same cookie-cutter responses i suggest you leave!

Whoever said Monster's Ball was a horrible movie, must not have actually seen the movie or understood the film. It was by far one of the best films ever. And Moulin Rouge is not a "film" it's a "musical".

And as for the beef recall, that's not the first nor will it be the last, but if you make your way out to the west coast, do not miss their burgers. By far the best out there! And their fries are the greatest! You they're good when Britney's in 5150 and she's still requesting!?

And as for the fetus/baby/ultrasound excuse? PLEASE! You know the first minute you're pregant you stop calling it, it and try to determine whether it's a he or a she and in no time in your personal or professional life do you reference the baby as a fetus to the mother or father. Unless you work at an abortion clinic and then you would, only to keep it from being a person/personal.

In some Eastern cultures, they consider life to begin at conception, hence they sometimes use the term "child inside". Pro-life people in this country should be happy about that.

It would be ridiculous to expect Nicole to answer "my fetus" when the Japanese reporter asked her about the "child inside" her.

Imahick said...

I agree about Monster's Ball...it was an excellent movie. I thought Halle was so good in it and deserved the Oscar 100%. I couldn't sit thru Moulin Rouge. It was bad. And I usually like musicals...but honestly, I didn't like it and that was long before Keith hooked up with NK. It has nothing to do with their relationship.

I actually am not at all offended by the use of the term 'fetus'. I've seen people use the word 'spawn'...that could be considered inappropriate, but fetus? I'm not clear why that's bad...it's objective term. I have a friend who called her baby "the fetus" throughout the whole pregnancy...in fact, after she found out it was a male, she called it "Freddie the fetus" and it was not meant in anyway but as endearing. It may not be warm and fuzzy, but it's not "vile". I'm sorry, I don't get that.

As far as "the child inside"...no one who supports NK is going to admit that she says very odd things that are far from how a "normal" person would speak. I think she is so out of touch with the real world and has to live in her little fantasy land because she has no identity in the "real world". I don't think she sees things the way the rest of us do. Thus...instead of taking the translation of the question about her "fetus" in context, she just quoted the interviewer. I think that's more of an indication that she can't think on her feet and be real, so she uses what is available to her in context with her make believe world.

realitycheck said...

I'm pro-choice and i dont use the term fetus when discussing someones baby. I certainly wouldnt refer to my own unborn child as such either.

kusnob, i have to disagree with you. I saw Monster's Ball and thought it was a horrible movie. It was an existential mess and i wasnt at all impressed by any of it. Its just my opinion. Im fine with you disagreeing with me but i know a few poeople who share my opinion of that film. Movies like MR have always been regarded by the Academy as real films.

Again, I would invite you to view the video clip. You would clearly see that Nicole was diplomatically answering the Japanese reporter who used the "child inside" term, and she herself chuckled a bit about it. This is clearly a woman who can think on her feet, but decided to be respectful and diplomatic to her audience.

...So I see that the Spirit Awards have just started off on Amc.. got me to thinking how did kidmans usual insignificant and box office ultra loser Margot at the Wedding did... well, a supporting actress nod for J J leigh... but nothing for kidman... not a very good sign, considering indies will be her sole employment after failing in the blockbuster department, the romantic comedy, even the light comedy, come on its light! Oh but so is kidman. Which then got me to thinking of the director of Margot. Its tragic that Noah Baumbach will never direct again. When are they going to learn? All day today Ive notice that AMC and TCM are showing classic Oscar nominated films.. Amc showed The Godfather 1&2, TCM just got through showing Raging Bull.... and happened to notice that TBS showed that classic... Bewitched! Which of these films is not like the others? So its the countdown to the Oscars.. so will kidman dump urban just before the red carpet? Will she pose with actual nominated and far more successful actors? Will she wear a horrific designer dress from the reject bin again?

Update: Cate Blancett just beat out JJ leigh for supporting actress for the spirit award. No one from Margot got any love huh?

realitycheck said...

"Will she pose with actual nominated and far more successful actors?"

Uhh..she is a successful and nominated actress who has won. Did you forget again, maclen?

"Will she wear a horrific designer dress from the reject bin again?"

Shes become a fashion icon because of the choices shes made on the red carpet, especially Oscar night. Your memory is slipping.

"Update: Cate Blancett just beat out JJ leigh for supporting actress for the spirit award. No one from Margot got any love huh?"

I suppose you'd blame that on Nicole. Its a great movie and both actresses were overlooked for the Oscar. Several critics have said so...especially about Kidman.

I look forward to seeing Baumbach's next project, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. After that I'm sure he's got another film to make you'll hate just as much.

Well, I am very pro LIFE and I don't have a problem with the word fetus. Perhaps that's because of my medical background; I don't know. I never used it while pregnant with my own children because yes, it was personal. But there's nothing personal to me about KUNK's baby. While I don't use the term to describe it myself, it doesn't bother me really to read others doing so on here. Maybe it's because I'm not yet convinced that she HAS a "child inside" - at least not inside HER.

And Kusnob, LOVED Monster's Ball - couldn't stomach through Moulin Rouge.

Well, I certainly hit a sore spot, didn't I? It was an opinion, and it stands.

I find it so amusing that the NK supporters continue to post opinions (and not so nice ones) about the posters instead of making their points through their posts about NK.

She is so inarticulate in most interviews where she hasn't rehearsed the answers. When she's interviewed on the red carpet, she sounds like a moron in my opinion. And I've heard some of her fans say that she isn't the most articulate person in the world either.

In terms of the movies...there are obviously alot more people who think Monster's Ball was good than Moulin Rouge because it WON. I'm sure that some people thought MR was good too...I didn't like it.

White Trash said...

"I find it so amusing that the NK supporters continue to post opinions (and not so nice ones) about the posters instead of making their points through their posts about NK. "

What you fail to see here and the point I've tried to convey is that a lot of us non-skeptics are not NK supporters, but Keith supporters. As I've stated numerous times, I could give a rats ass about Nicole and her career. I personally don't enjoy most of her movies and think her acting ability is at most times horrid ( I did walk out of Moulan Rouge), but she does continue to be an a-list actress despite Maclen's desperate attempt to dissuade you otherwise. Her fashion sense for the most part is beautiful, but at times I guestion the outfits she wears to certain events. It's Keith's music that I enjoy and continue to enjoy regardless of whether you skeptics think he's sold out- he still has it in him. Not every album a successful artist debuts will be a hit. I'm sure you can all follow Springsteens music career to see that and he's still considered a huge music ICON.

If you really go back and reread the majority of topics this blog has written - it's clear this person is just vicious, cynical and green with envy and is using this blog to vent her jealous frustrations that Keith has moved on to a new personal chapter in his life and you don't like it. By calling their unborn child "The Fetus" states clearly a tone in which you despise the fact that Keith and Nicole are having a baby together. They're marriage is a happy one and they are enjoying the life they've beem blessed with.

So....you'll continue to pick apart every opportunity, every walk down the carpet, every concert, every movie, every PR event, every new music or concert, every awards ceremony, every article, every picture, every outfit as long as your jealous hatred still festers inside you.

Stay RealityCheck and continue to post your views - I for one enjoy the honest opinions of those who aren't brainwashed skeptics..

This is a site where posters post the not so good, not so beautiful, not so perfect points that both Nicole and Keith have, for the most part everything everyone posts skeptics and bunnies included is opinion.
When Nicole came into the picture and the people who didnt like her, and didnt like their relationship posted their feelings and opinions on monkeyville they were pushed out and told to leave and go elsewhere, so they did, yet some of you still come here and yell at them, why, WHY DO YOU READ THIS BLOG, none of you have ever answered me and I just dont get it? I bet most of you are the same ones who uttered the annyoing "report and ignore" phrase. So I ask realitycheck, what brings you here and why to you continue to argue with a skeptic?
As for fetus, get over it, or maybe we should call it IT, we dont know what IT is (and I mean boy or girl.) Would IT be better for you?
Imahick- I had a friend call her baby Frannie Fetus when she knew she was having a girl, maybe Frannie and Freddie will cross paths someday and become the Fetus family!

I think you've missed the point of the blog, to be honest, but this is just my opinion.

This blog is written by different people. It's not all one author. Those who contribute seem to me to be on a spectrum as far as their support of Keith...some are done with him, others are still big Keith fans. I think it's fair to say none of them are NK fans! LOL

Personally, I don't read alot of hatred toward Keith on here, mind you, that's a matter of interpretation. I read a huge amount of disappointment. Some of the people who either blog or contribute in the comments section have been fans for many years and they don't seem to like the direction his career is taking.

I personally could care less about his marriage. It's how it seems to be impacting his music and his career that I object to. But that is his decision. I guess time will tell whether he regrets making the career decisions he has made in the last 2 years or so.

If NK appeared to make ONE concession for the marriage, I'd be less inclined to criticize. But at this point, I've seen no evidence of that. The only thing she's done is not leave him when he went to rehab. She would have been entitled to leave and no one would have blamed her, considering the Amanda / porn star fiascos ... but she stuck with him. Although I think it was to present the "I'm a victim" image...she DID stick with him.

I also think that many of the people who contribute (either in blogs or in comments) to this blog are frustrated with him because they seem to want success for Keith more than he wants it. After years of supporting the man, spending $$ on his CD's and concerts and finally seeing him succeed, it's hard to watch it slowly dissipate.

But that's what the issue is, isn't it? He can't stay in the US and concentrate on his career, because his wife needs him in Oz to hold her water bottle and paint her toe nails. He struggles to find balance in his life...and it isn't that hard if the relationship is right. I think that's the key. If he was with the right person, the "balance" would be easier to achieve and wouldn't require him to make all the sacrifices.

His emascuation has been hard to watch. The slow decline of his career is hard to watch. His rapid aging is hard to watch. The fact that he looks resigned and unhappy alot of the time (when with NK) is hard to watch. It's just hard to watch...from a fan's point of view.

Make no mistake, urbans career as a top country artist is over. I'm sure he'll continue to reslease some stuff, maybe, but to the already evident diminishing returns. Then he'll be reduced to doing small nightclub gigs, and of course he'll proclaim its the way he "wants it" or he wants to take a break for "the family" or more likely because kidman told him to.. And the problem was that he hooked his ship to the bow of a sinking ship..kidmans. And althought its a "urban legend" that a sinking ship sucks everything down with it, urban is none the less doomed to sink with her, because personally I dont believe urban has the temperment, the will power, or fortitude to stay away from the sinking ship.

They called it exactly as it has played out. They have vision beyond the gullible, the mindlessly sycophantic, the braggadociously ignorant, the feebly fawning... So to the still hopefull urbanites, heed well the message when you come to this site... for it may be the only site about him that people will have interest in!

It will be hiliarious to note how healthy seeming and so apparently pregnant jolie and blancett appear already, as oppossed to the enemic and palrty kidman. But as is becoming so obvious and clear, kidman's grape sized so called "bump" and her intended fabulous photo op at the Oscars will pale in comparison to blancett's, and her actual Oscar nomination, and Jolie's, and her far more impressive UN ambassadorship. Kidman's problem is she does everything so second rate, she never fails to be upstaged.

Good question, banbotox...it''ll make em another grand or two..at least! They probably even rush released it in some idiotic hope that it may still get a oscar nom for kidman... as Ive noticed in the past her indie failures dont get put out on dvd til almost a year later. As for why I'm here, its because i dont agree with whats stated here as fact. And lets say there was a positive KUNK blog open to the public for anyone to post. Do you think t would stay 100% positive? Not a chance in hell.

Which is why Scorcese gave away the best director and Helen Mirren gave away the best actor award, it's what you're suppose to do. What movie have you seen Jennifer Hudson in since Dreamgirls? Nada. But she presented because she was a previous Oscar winner.

I thought they both looked great last night.

that's exactly right. 'ditto' gets a little old after a while.

Ah, but she was last years' Oscar winner. The previous years' winners always present the next years' winner in the opposite sex category (Best Male this year presents Best Female next year). Nicole hasn't won in how many years? Yet they continue to ask her back to present. There are many others that have won and are not asked to present in future years' after the very next year. There's something about NK that makes Oscar want her back year after year. Obviously her fans know something that we don't, otherwise Gil Cates would not want her back. She brings something to the table that those other actresses do not.

...and congrats maclen!! 100 posts is amazing...whoohoo!

Hey thanks, DW...and in honor of our patron saint of shameless self promotion... (kidman!)..."Id just like to accept this honor, for without me, an honorary UN Ambassadorship there would not be any hunger, or strife of woman and children in Kosovo... and sickly children would not have been able to watch my new movie... "
..well enough ot that tripe.

...So, Mortica Adam’s dress at the oscars... I mean kidmans....predictably she choose black, not surprisingly since she is in mourning at an unfortunate demise... and as we all know who’s...it is the demise of urban’s career. Since it is clearly established that it’s demise has been ironically the result of kidman herself, she was aptly dressed as a black widow spider, spinning her web. And that web was so clearly visible hanging around her neck. She had more cheap bling hanging on her than P diddy, or Mr T...on a good day! She made the perfect saloon girl, no doubt her tribute to the nominated western Jesse James. It is no wonder she skipped the cameras on the red carpet, another mention on the worst dressed was just too much for her to fathom again. Also, for this important photo op it seems she opted not to sit in the audience, not one shot that I noticed during the broadcast...she wasnt front center in the nicholson section, seemingly not in the left of center front seating...if she was in the audience she really got ignored royally. Mentioned once by very funny host Jon Stewart, but only as part of a jokes punchline about all the pregnant celebs...And the winner was? Angelina Jolie!
She forced urban to skipped the grammys, only to seemingly have him simply escort her backstage and into the greenroom for a buffet of diet pepsi, grapes and cheese whiz on crackers, while she awaited her big moment. As for her tribute speech? Ive seen more excitement and authentic emoting from a trained parrot... although I have to give kidman the edge in the steady monotonous and controled bland tone in her voice.. but not by much.
So that basically is her career in a nutshell...show up, put on a costume, and give a boring speech.

Once again maclen delivers - delivers exactly what we thought she/he would. That no matter how NK attended the event it wouldn't be the "right" way.

Let's hope Nicole's delivery is much more worthy than Maclen's garbage!

"I thought it was nice that they both helped that 98 year old man away from the podium. But I couldn't help but think he was helping GRANNY leave the stage!"

HA! And here I was , IITWI, thinking that they relagated kidman to a mere "tribute" presentation, since the main awards were already reserved for last years winners and other relevant celebs. (I highly doubt kidman even knew who Robert Boyle was before last night) And now it turns out it was just to make Boyle look younger in comparison!

beautiful indeed.....she looked like a granny.

she got worst dressed by somebody on E last night.....i know JMO

she was hardly the worst dressed, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. if nk looked like a granny, keith looked like a grandpa as did george clooney, etc.
