Celebrity Predictions 2008

Aged movie star Nicole Kidman has certainly hogged the spotlight lately. It seems that the American public will be inundated with details of her pregnancy whether they want them or not. Maybe the American public is more concerned with gasoline prices and the flooding in the Midwest than by her fairy-tale second marriage to a troubled country crooner? Well it seems that any day now the birth will occur and from the psychic tea leaves perspective it will be a baby. But what do the leaves have in store for the Mrs.?

First of all, don’t expect her to do slow down much for the rest of the year since, incredibly, all of her tea leaves are pointing toward downtown Hollywood. In fact, she will sign on for another 10 movies over the next two years since the Yi Shou Yan Nian appears in yellow on her 3rd house in Nashville. Our hard working little mommy will not pull the Julia Roberts disappearing act, no way! In fact any humanitarian efforts will be permanently sent to the back burner for our Nic. Let’s face it, she loves the spotlight and will gladly take her time in that instead of enjoying being a wife and mother.

The good roles for women will be completely out of her reach but that won’t stop Nicole from taking on any role she can buy or steal. Nicole will never move behind the camera unless she can write, produce, direct and star, because unlike the love of her life, she has so much more to prove.

As for her current husband, Keith will be resentful, watching the balance of his career drift away according to the full leaves of Qi Men Mao Feng. However, there is promise of a rebound for the Mr. if the Bi Tan Piao Xue remains strong in the lower hemisphere or at least for the first flush.

Very interesting take from Mr. bud... personally, I follow the teachings of Lee Ho Fook's... (He's gone "to get himself a big dish of beef chow mein"..) Certainly the voluntary kidman micro watchers believe that we're talking a few months...if not weeks before she's back to the grind of movie set loitering in her pathological need for attention. And the example of the aforementioned julia roberts... or gwyneth paltrow, who not only took time off, but actually had another kid...or the example of michelle pfeiffer who took about 6 years off to be a mother to her kids...kidman already has shown what type of "mother' she will be by the example she has already shown to be with cruise's kids. It shows that she will soon lose interest in being a mother in her obssession to be in front of the movie, papparatz and TV cameras...

More blabbering since its a slow KUNK news days. Hopefully the public is paying attention to world affairs but the only actress who is competing for attention on that front is Angelina Jolie with her "Has it happened yet?!" pregnancy. Brad Pitt goes off on his merry way which only creates more hype and more questions. Meanwhile Nicole and Keith are making a life for themselves and not in hiding.

Umyths, me thinks the reason for this latest serving of undercooked pork is to "Yi Shou Yan Nian" this blog.

So Catherine...er Cat...What's the problem today? Isn't Angie didn't want to be your client or her PR people are better than you?

Don't know much about reading tea leaves, only know that when they are in the bottom of my cup they are bitter - much like you skeptics.

And what a joke maclen, holding gwyneth paltrow up as a role model? She, who is just as big, if not bigger, famewhore than NK! She might've stopped making movies, but she certainly didn't stop using the speed dial on her phone for the photo ops. I can't believe you actually included her with Julia & Michelle, who actually did step back to have time with their families - and pretty much managed to stay out of the camera's eye too!

doublewide said...

actually NK doesn't need to be compared to any other actress to show her lust for the spotlight. she does that quite nicely by herself.

love the new blog!

weiner, you really are just another conspiracy theorist arent you?

Mothers that stay home with their kids shouldnt be applauded any more than moms that work. We fought for equality so that every woman could make the choice for themselves and not feel put-down by others, especially other females. And lets not forget there are mothers out there, that arent celebrities, that work that dont have to, but it fufills them.

More blabbering cause you're such a miserable bitch. You are beyond annoying now.
You seem to know so much about Angelina and Brad, how is that? Do they tell you what they do? Last time I checked they were pretty careful what and when and how and why anything was put in the media about themselves.
Do you know I can tell by your posts RC that your eyes are brown?

wastedemotion said...

RC-
Fulfills them....what being responsible for a life wasnt enough fulfillment. It's the ultimate in fulfillment

realitycheck said...

Everything i know about Brangelina can be gleened by anyone on the internet. Im not spilling secrets. The actress can pretend that hiding out in France is allaying media coverage and speculation but its only spurring it on.

It's the ultimate in fulfillment

Thats your opinion and you have every right to feel that way. Not all mothers do and it doesnt make them better or worse if they dont share your opinion.

wastedemotion said...

First-
I didnt say one is better than the other. I think the excuse that a working mother needs to work for fulfillment is a slap in the face of the child. It makes it sound as if the child does nothing to add to her life.
As for Angelina I do no believe she calls the media and alerts them to her every move, I believe it is very important to her and Brad that they live a private life. I believe they value privacy and would not tip off any media outlet to anything. Another famous pregnant woman however gets off on tipping off the media.

I would advise ANY woman who CHOSE to have a child and then, CHOSE to work within six months of the birth that she was selfish. And I'd tell any mother who CHOSE to work full time within 2 yr that she is selfish. I don't care who you are. If you don't NEED to work, you make that commitment to be a mother to that new life that you've brought into this world and are responsible for. If you don't HAVE to work...take some time off and do what's right.

NK doesn't have to work. Right now, it sounds like she's doing a movie (NINE) which starts rehearsals in August and filming in September. Honestly...what is that all about?

She's BS'd for years about how important a baby would be to her (even though her own two kids had to listen to her discuss how she wanted to be a mother to her "own" child...that must have felt good?) and now, she is pregnant and by all accounts due to deliver very soon. So...its so important to her that she's taking...four weeks off??? Right. That tells the whole story...and NK doesn't have to spout off any more BS about how excited she is about this baby, or how she will "slow" down and just let her career fizzle out or how she's gonna take time off for her husband and children. Sure she wants a baby so much...and can visualize herself on the beach with her children. Sure.

Take more than four weeks off after the delivery and ACTUALLY care for this child, NK. Instead there will be several very dedicated nannies raising the baby, while NK fulfills her life ... with her career.

That's all utter bull shit! We didn't fight for equal rights for the outcome of not being judged, you moron!

The equal rights movement with women was the right to do such things and to be paid and treated equally in the work place. Nothing in that about not getting judged morally or by values.

I think if your planning for kids, then the mother should plan on staying home with them as well. Not a nanny or a day care service.

While this may sound old fashioned, so be it. I am a bit old fashioned when it comes to that. There is much to be said for kids growing up in stable households with some routine and parental security in their lives. You just can't beat having mom at home for you.

Granted some moms end up going to work because things happen. And they have to help feed, clothe and put food on the table. That is a NEED.

Mom going to work at her kids expense because it fulfills her is selfish. Your kids didn't ask to be born. You should wait to have kids and sew some oats or don't have them, or go back to work later.

Or do a bit of volunteer/charity work locally..involve the kids..if you need fulfillment.

It isn't a NEED to work because you have to support a lifestyle of brand named clothes, vacations, SUVs, huge homes and to keep up with the Jones'.

It isn't a need for Nicole to go back to work. Why? her career isn't out curing cancer, saving lives. It's a very superficial job. For fame, money and ego. Nothing important depends on her working.

And if she can't put it aside for a child for awhile. She shouldn't have kids.

And yes! I did it for my kids and family. No regrets. It was hard the first several years financially. But there isn't anything you can do in this world as important as raising and having a loving home with happy kids.

I don't ever regret having to not worry about losing my career because I have to make a decision to be home for my child or be at work, leave work early for my child. They never had to worry who would be there for them.

I gladly went without the extras because your kids are only kids for awhile and they need you, not a nanny to help them become the people they will be.

/rant!

So, I'm watching tv this morning and I'm starting to catch "breaking news" bulletins on the cable news channels about jolie's impending child birth...or more precise, "children ' birth ... first one on CNN and on of course on E!news. And of course, since I usually compare kidman to jolie, because kidman is such a jolie wannabe, and always continues to pale in that comparison...it made me wonder if kidman will get this kind of mad media watch when she is due to deliver... will kidman rate this kind of attention? It kind of reminds me of the tomkat wedding in Rome, where there was that whole weekend of bulletins and updates and the frenzy... and how it was so lacking in the kidman/orb wedding... all they got was paparatz photos of kidman bringing out beer to the aussie paps in front of her house...really thrilling. Kidman is too bland and boring in comparison... its the reason jolie's movie just opened to $51 million and kidman's next movie will be lucky if it can make it to a 20 mil. opening.

maclen said...

...ps...

...just a "pre-emptive" update... (to hopefully pre-empt any asinine responses...) also recall, that kidman's last "Summer blockbuster", The Invasion released just last year, only opened to $5.9mill...so that $20 mill is giving kidman a huge benefit of the doubt...

notachance said...

AJ obviously wants all this media attention, otherwise she wouldn't *leave* the country to have the babes for supposed privacy. If that isn't orchestrated for total hype I don't know what is.

And to those calling NK a Jolie wannabe - WTF? If NK were really an AJ wannabe she would be attempting some real action movies, that is where AJ makes her name. She's not, her acting style (if you want to call it that) is completely different from AJ - there is no comparison.

wastedemotion said...

Comparing Angelina and Nicole is a incredible insult to Angelina.
I at least have a tendency to believe AJ, NK never.

cricket said...

Yeah there is a difference Angelina can act Kidman can not. Angelina's lips are real Kidman's are a piss poor imitation. Angelina actually loves and cares for her children, thats a concept totally forgien to Kidman,Angelina goes out and works for the UN.Kidman sends a video of herself simpering and goggeling like a fool talking about her baybeeee. Kiman is a pale imitation of not onlt Jolie but a poor imitation of any warm blooded woman.

realitycheck said...

"if kidman will get this kind of mad media watch when she is due to deliver... will kidman rate this kind of attention?"

AJ's pregnancy is shrouded in secrecy. She goes into hiding, supposedly preplans her stay, where she possibly wont give birth for two weeks according to the doctor at a press conference. He's reassuring us there's nothing wrong. They are taking up four rooms with security, trying to give the impression the wonder twins might be stolen. And for the record i am not making fun of the babies, just referencing the ridiculous nickname the media has been using. The father is not there or at least is hiding away in the hospital. They choose to have their first birth in a clinic in Africa, but now its lockdown in France. Nothing about this is normal and just fuels the fire. Either there is cover-up as to the well-being of children/mother, AJ wants the frenzied attention, or they are incredibly naive for thinking this plan was a good idea.

realitycheck said...

weiner, get off your high horse. If you believe i think the women's movement was simply about not being judged you are sorely mistaken. But it is a by-product of it. It seems like many of the hard-core skepti-haters that regularly post here think its their right to bash someone that works who doesnt have to. Why dont you bash the men? Why dont you say they should stay home for five years? Its not up to you tell women of the world how to raise their kids. You dont have a moral imperative to say women who work that dont have to are selfish. And what works for you doesnt work for everyone. I suggest you all get into the 21st century!

maclen said...

Seems jolie's huge movie opening has the inept team kidman scrambling for desperately needed positive media buzz for her clunker of a movie... not only did they have two preview "audience" members send in their "its better than expected" reviews to AICN.com... now there's a couple of internet sites... the kidman Aussie leak source, The Sidney Morning Herald for one, here:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/stay-in-touch/buzz-on-bazs-oz-epic-hints-at-a-winner/2008/07/02/1214950847660.html

...in fact siting those two amateur reviews as "signs" the movie is going to be "FABULOUS!"... leak a few phoney reviews, and then have your media sources shill the movie based on those phoney reviews... how "incestually" and metaphorically tawdry... I smell another stinker of a film heading into, and immediatly out of, theaters this November...

I never said she couldn't read. I think speaking coherently and being able to read are two very different things. What does graduating from high school have to do with anything? I'm sure there are alot of people that haven't graduated from high school that can read and compose a coherent sentence.

wastedemotion said...

RC
Nothing is wrong with being a stay at home mom and your implication that weiner needs to get with the 21st century implies you think stay at home moms are old school. I wish more mothers would get out of the 21st century and realize you can be at home and be fulfilled. Did not stay home, are you feeling guilty?! Did your mom not stay home do you have a chip on your shoulder?! It sure seems that way.

realitycheck said...

Maclen, once again you prove you are talking out of your arse. Its an actual movie reviewing website. And the reviews while complimentary had their share of criticisms. Really now, stop pulling things out of thin air. There's nothing phoney about them. Just more disassociation from reality by the skeptics, that no one could possibly write anything positive about this film, that NK is an AJ wanna-be (truly hilarious), and that everyone is enamored with the twin pregnancy.

wastedemotion said...

Should say did you not stay home.
Also my husband would give anything to stay at home, and if I could make the kind of money he does I'd be happy to let him stay home. It isnt important to me who stays home, it's just important to me that the children are at home with a paren.
I think that is the case with most families, as much as you think we "fought for equal right" men still make more than women even though it is the 21st century!

realitycheck said...

wasted you have no clue. Just for the record my mother did stay at home. She didnt work outside of the home a single day of my childhood. And that was her choice. My fiance and i arent going to have kids until after we get married. I have no guilt. So sorry to break it to you but your "theory" is incorrect.

"Get with the 21st century" simply means mothers, if they are lucky enough to be able to choose, should have their choice and not be judged.

wastedemotion said...

RC
It's not about being lucky enough to choose is my point. It is about making a choice. I could work and we'd have a better home, better cars, go on vacations, have cell phones, cable tv, we would shop at Gap and Gymboree instead of Goodwill and Garage Sales, and all the luxuries a lot of people must have would be ours if I made the choice to work. You are the one that has no clue. Seeing as that you cleared it up for me, it makes sense now you're not a mother so you wouldnt understand what fulfills you and what doesnt.
Im not judging mothers that work outside of the home, I think it is a shame some of them feel they have to for fulfillment, I think it is a shame some of them are too selfish to give up things that arent neccesary. Do I judge them no, would I ever do it no. In the end it will be their child that suffers for the parents choice.

realitycheck said...

it makes sense now you're not a mother so you wouldnt understand what fulfills you and what doesnt.

Presumptuous arent we? You have alot of nerve making a statement like that. At my age I absolutely do know what fulfills me. And when i have kids I will work. If my opinions change then so be it. But you have no right to say that mothers should be fulfilled enough just from being a parent.

wastedemotion said...

I have a lot of nerve? RC do you own a mirror cause I think you need a good hard look in one. You have some nerve posting all the crap you do and expecting us to just swallow it. And then when we dont you get all pissed.
What I meant.....(dont try to twist my words or add to them) was that since you have not had the opportunity to be a mother yet you cant know if it will fulfill you to stay home with that child, or if you'll need to leave the child in the care of someone else to get that fulfillment. You will only know once you've walked in those shoes. What I was saying was dont spout off things as facts when you dont have a clue cause you've never been there. I didnt say you couldnt know what fulfills you, you may think you do know but come talk to me once you have a child and you've been there.
Also I have every right to my beliefs and there is nothing you can do about it. It is my belief becoming a mother should be enough fulfillment for women to put their career aside for a period of time to raise their child. Dont tell me what I can or cant say because last time I checked I lived in America and was allowed.

Imahick said...

OK...I am not an old fashioned girl. But when I had my kids (and I was an executive in the company that I worked at ... in senior management) I made a decision that my kids were my priority. I took seven months off work after my first child, and eight after my second. I returned to work part time, for the next few years, so that I could be there for them, as much as possible. If we could have afforded it, I would have stopped working altogether during that time. I am fortunate that the company was supportive of my decision, as others don't have that option.

But if I'd chosen not to put my kids first, I could have continued on working after a brief mat leave. I could have afforded to hire a nanny to care for the kids so that I could "fulfill" myself. In my opinion, it would have been a very selfish act.

Some women don't have the option to take the time off and be a mother because financially it isn't feasible. But if you do, it's a self absorbed act to continue to work and allow your children to be cared for and raised by people other than yourself or your spouse.

I do think that as long as one parent is there for the kids, that is OK. I believe that the stay at home parent should be nurturing and if that's Dad, so be it.

I can see Keith being a warmer and more nurturing person than NK. She's icy cold and selfish. I had hoped she'd warm up to this baby, but I should have known that she would make herself the priority, and go back to work right away. She's a piece of work.

cricket said...

Kidman's priority has always been and will always be herself. No matter who she marries or how many kids she aquires for PR. Nobody will ever mean as much to her as she does to herself. And if she gets what she so richly deserves she will wind up old and completly alone with no one to love her but herself.

maclen said...

So, angelina jolie checks into a hospital in France and everybody assumes she has given birth... but it turns out she is in for monitoring...so anyways, her doctor says she is expected to give birth "in the weeks to come." Well, could it be that she is actually set to rain on kidman's parade after all? By all reports, kidman is expected...and supposedly set to deliver late this month... but with this new jolie development... it makes me wonder if she suddenly becomes "late" in her delivery, for certainly kidman does not want to have to compete with jolie, for as surely kidman could not compete... no doubt the notion of being overshadowed by jolie once again has her grey hair growing greyer with each passing second... and certainly delivering before jolie at such a close time period will also put her delivery into the quickest trajectory to the footnotes of the news cycle... not to mention being slaughtered in the first baby magazine pic bidding war she has already apparently lost out on. So is jolie once again going to tickle my sense of due karmic celeb just desserts and relegate kidman to the D-list back pages where she so rightly deserves? Well, one can only wait and see... but the possibilities are so magnificently "giddy" inducing...
